The overall ambience was amazing, felt quite luxurious, staff was very friendly helpful and accomadating The style and design of the bathrooms, felt generic compared to rest of hotel. I understand likely done for ease of cleanliness but felt out of place compared to the room and rest of the hotal
$10 a day for parking? Nice hotel, you pay for what you get, and then you realize you pay for inconvenient parking in downtown Portsmouth. If this were NYC or DC I'd get it but Portsmouth? The parking should be included.
Everything! The people were nice. The venue is gorgeous. The atmosphere felt welcoming and romantic. The room was comfortable with great views. I can't wait to return. The ice machine was only on the first floor. We were on the 17th floor.
All the staff we encountered were very friendly. I didn't go past one person who didn't say hi and ask how our stay was going.
Customer service of check in receptionist when you could find them was poor. They didnt have answers nor were the helpful in any manor. The cleaning staff were very unorganized and did not have rooms available until the very last minute. It appears that this location was being managed and operated by college students who couldnt tell head from tell. I will not stay there again nor recommend a stay to anyone that values customer service.

The staff were very nice. We even had one waiting on an elevator and told us to go ahead so we wouldn't have to wait on another with all our luggage. The rooms were very nice and had a very modern look. Nothing it was very good.
excellent styling, great shower, loved the master power switch by the front door. great idea with the box that has all the hookups to connect any device to the big screen. loved the wine tasting; great atmosphere. you should include breakfast
Loved the hotel the staff was friendly and even gave me a free upgrade to the water view!!! The hotel was clean and sharp looking. We stayed for two nights....and they did not clean our room.

Very clean, overall comfortable, except for super cold bar (A/C set very very strong) I disliked the cheapness of the place: sort of nickel and dime low-cost behaviour which I find offensive: no free parking for guests, had to pay $12 to park the car in a parking two blocs further or use a valet service for double the price. Wireless everywhere but costs money. Breakfast not included and quite expensive. Reception staff a bit distracted and despite a big reception desk, only one employee: had to queue to check in.

Location very uncomfortable, because of disturbing behevior of other guests and very poor noise isolation - you can heard every noise on a floor, ice and wending machine, even outside conversations on entrance.

Very convenient location to conference site. Great view to waterfront. Very good breakfast dining. Because I used a hotel site for the reservation, there was some confusion as to which room was reserved. I was told with a balcony but didn't get it when I checked in. But that was fine for this time since I was rarely in it.
Parking is horrible. Very hard to even get to the entrance since there is no actual large enough driveway. Even with valet parking had to wait to even be able to get close enough to actually hand keys over. Other option is off site parking garage in walking distance around the corner.

Nothing Shady crowd, room didn't lock, rude management, tried to refuse a refund after my husband had to stay in room over hour to wait until they tried to fix lock- didn't even apologize.
Location was great. Bed was comfortable. The parking situation was a joke. There was a line a mile long for the valet, which was the only option. My AC didn't work, so the room was incredibly hot. I told the front desk about it, and they didn't do anything about it.
Great, safe location for seeing downtown Norfolk sights including Nauticus and Wisconsin. Easy walk from hotel to Nauticus, so we didn't have to move the car. This isn't specific to this hotel, but Courtyard's approach to breakfast is very susceptible to long delays during busy times. Hampton Inn and Hyatt Four Points buffets are more efficient (and just as satisfying).

Helpful Staff, comfy beds Valet Parking is awful. Hotel needs to identify local events that may crest additional demands on valet staff, then use that info to bring in extra people when necessary. When we stayed, there were two college graduations at the same time which created a huge backup on Saturday morning; the suggested 15 minute lead time to have car brought up by valets was about 30 minutes too short. Give valets at least 45 minutes, hour may be better.

The location That we had to pay $19 a day to have my car parked there. I asked the valet guy to park it on the first floor... He took it to the 3rd floor. The terrace was filthy. Sticky carpet in the hallway.

Valet staff was extremely nice. All staff was but valet staff was so kind. I did not have a working toilet and I called for maintenance and no one came to fix it.
The location is decent- nice restaurant and shopping choices within walking distance. Parking is easy. Beds are comfortable. Shower is a bit odd. Nice large TV. Noise is medium. I could hear a neighbors buzzing phone alarm every morning at 4:15am. I could also hear trucks at the 7-Eleven (I chose a room facing the 7-Eleven after reading a review that said it was the quiet side) The free breakfast needs much improvement. Those skillets are loaded with cheese and meat. Finally after five nights, there was an egg white veggie skillet sandwich, but it had ham! The yogurt is open in a big bowl. I'd rather have single serve containers for freshness and safety. I ended up buying my own yogurt cups and blueberries at the nearby Harris Teeter and kept them in the fridge in my room. I suggest Hyatt Place offer boiled eggs and oatmeal every day. The oatmeal was served two out of 5 days and on the last day it was so watery, i couldn't eat it. The staff needs to do a better job refilling the breakfast, coffee and hot water.
The staff was great, extremely nice, they took me and my baby to get some medicine in the middle of a big storm.

The young mens who did the cleaning and passed the lines out was very friendly and helpful. I wanted to print some stuff off for work. The manager didn't have any ink. He kepted coming in there with empty cartridges. Therefore i stayed there for four day. No ink was never put in the printer. The woman who prepared the food for breakfast. Had a cold and she kepted coughing over the food.She never put any gloves on a lone with being very rude.Threw out our whole stay housekeeping would always knock on the door trying to rush us out so they could clean the room. Last day I think she was the housekeeping supervisor knocked on the door very rudely and said check out is 11:00. When it was only 10:30. The only front desk person who was friendly was the young lady with the braids.
Nice and clean hotel. Bathrooms well stocked. Fire alarm sounding at 5:00am due to leak in main lobby. No communication to guests in order to explain sitaution. All water to hotel was shut off until further notice. We checked out by 6:30am with no breakfast provided due to damage.
It was clean, most staff was friendly & helpful. Pool opened too late in a.m. was given a key to a room, after having an online reservation, to open the door at 6:30 p.m to find the room in the process of being cleaned. Had to go back downstairs to work it out & leave my elderly mother with all the luggage. Had to go back & get her, & luggage and go to another floor & room after traveling 9 hours that day.
My previous experience with this location had been great. My return was for our anniversary and we ended hoped to get the same room. The room rate was the only pleasure in this facility. The sheets and towels had visible stains, the shower rod was broken, there were holes in the walls, lots of rust and the refrigerator smells.
The Middle eastern male worker behind the front desk was very gracious, helpful and accomodating. The 1st room issued to us was on the first floor, which scares the heck out of me. However, the gentleman behind the front desk quickly changed the room for us. What a terrible mistake, the room walls was peeling, looked old and it had doo-doo on the seat. Totally disgusting, when i called the front desk and woman answered and preceded to constantly lie to me. When I called her out on it, she changed her answer. Would not stay here EVER AGAIN.
Clean rooms, easy/quick check in. Swimming pool was not clean, Breakfast hours were over too early, perhaps it should run until 10-10:30 on weekends.
Location is within walking distance of historic Portsmouth district, and the ferry to downtown Norfolk. Suites have mini-kitchenettes. Roof was under repair from recent tornado, but was not noticeable for open areas. Starbucks is across the street. The motel appears a little worn, and the parking lot is small ~ fills up quickly and may pose a problem when parking late.
Room was spacious and pretty quiet Wasn't terribly clean, and a lot of the fixtures were broken, like the inner bathroom door handle, which came off in your hand if it wasn't turner just so. Also, the restaurant on site was a massive disappointment; out of vegetables (!) and lacking basically anything vegetarian. Also didn't have its liquor license and couldn't accept credit cards. The hotel itself is not at a traffic light, so if you're trying to head to the Chesapeake bay bridge tunnel you are forced to make a uturn down the road.
Shuttle service was good. Good price to leave car while on trip. Had asked for a wake up call early AM and didn't get one. Lucky I had set my phone just in case.
The staff was very friendly. Everything in this hotel was old. The beds could use replacing because they were worn and very uncomfortable. The towels need to be replaced; while they were fresh, they were stained with the essence of guests past. Wifi was unreliable. They walls are paper thin and you can every movement made by the guests in the next room and people walking down the hallway. It's not so bad during the day but it made in difficult to relax and "sleep inn" during the night. Check in time is at 4pm which I find to be insanely late.
Few kitchen staff such as cutting board,small knife etc. would make it excellent stay. None
The staff was very accommodating. Was able to check in early. The room was clean. Right next to a beach and close to Norfolk Naval Base. Cigarettes all over the place, patio, walkways, etc. The beach is a bay beach that sits just east of the HRBT. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy in places. Not many restaurant options.
Great staff--very friendly and helpful. Solid free breakfast, nice beach, and free coffee 24/7 in the lobby was a nice touch.
Front desk people were great, room great, loved the breakfast, beach and pool. It's not close to a lot of restaurants but the place called Surfboard Sally's (something with Sally in the name...) was so good.

We found that the rooms were not soundproof, you could hear noise from hallway and other rooms.

Staff was very nice and helpful (I forgot some items that they had on hand). Each day they greeted me with a smile and 'hello' which was really great since I was in town for a funeral. I expected the fake scrambled eggs with the continental breakfast. I realize they aren't the real deal, but it would have been nice to have more than just bread/bagel and waffles for breakfast.
Staff was very friendly and patient. Breakfast is great and saved me a ton of time and money. Room cards constantly die and need replaced. If it even goes near your phone stop at the desk on your way in. The parking garage they have you park in is $13 daily yet the hotel charges $18 a day. That's stealing. I wish I would have just lied and said I didn't have a vehicle; could've just paid garage daily rate. On top of that over $700 of gear was stolen from my car my first night, and even though this is a massive chain hotel there is no make it right rule. When my wife worked at Gaylord they would drop 2 nights cost from your bill to "make it right" for the lack of security. Instead this is just more money I'm spending to move my family, and one more stress to add to my pile this week.

Breakfast was good. 1. When I arrived I was not given the room I had reserved. 2. The person who checked me in was arrogant and distinctly unhelpful. 3. I was charged $18.00 per day for parking, and I didn't even have a car! 4. I had to leave a day early, but was charged for the entire stay. Would definitely NOT recommend this hotel to anyone!

The suites are roomy and comfortable especially for extended stay. Great fully equipped kitchens. Glad there are some healthy options such as boiled eggs and oatmeal on the breakfast bar. Location is great. Walking distance to several restaurants for eat in and carry out. Great walking areas in the nearby Freemason neighborhood. Housekeeping took forever to clean room (I only requested cleaning every 2-3 days of my 12 night stay. They had an attitude when I had to track them down. The breakfast on weekends is a sheer mess. Not enough staff-- not refilled quickly enough. If you get there :15 before it ends, don't expect food or sympathy from staff. Blow dryer and iron were horrible. I had to ask for another and the replacements weren't much better. Just super cheap. Pack your own if you can! YMCA is in walking distance. Would be nice for hotel guests to get a break so they can take classes. Parking fee is ridiculous. You can usually find a space on the street-- especially if you are parking around regular business hours or download the app and pay for the meter for a few hours each day.
Location was great. In the middle between Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake. Lobby and front desk presentation was looking luxury. Rooms were kinda big and it was great to have a separate space with small kitchen and a long sofa bed. Our room was in the last level, great view and the room close to the elevator. Staff was friendly and pay attention to detail for the most part. I didn't like that the room bathroom was not properly clean. The water was not drawing in the tub. We call maintenance and they showed quick but wait a bit until the problem was fixed. Also there wasn't enough of towels and paper tissue on the bathroom too. Cleaning I will give them from 1 to 10 a 6.5. Other than that for the most part was good.
The staff were happy to be at work--a rarity! The air conditioning unit in the room was very loud and squeaky. We had to leave it turned off during our stay in order to hear the tv and sleep.
Had a reservation but the hotel was overbooked. Needed to try 2 nearby hotels to find a room, very late at night. Staff was helpful, but this was a real let down after a long drive.

The room was excellent.. We liked the suite layout and design elements throughout the hotel.Comfortable & efficient. Right off the highway in a somewhat limited entertainment environment. Ruby Tuesdays out front & Denny's across the street.

The location was right in the middle of Portsmouth. And the price was decent for that area. The staff that was slow in movement, and intellect. It took her almost 30 mins to check me in. The room was suppose to be a non-smoking but clearly wasnt. The room was not clearly cleaned cause I found stuff that should not have missed on the floor. The shower curtain was molded, with gunk. I was only there for one night. I had my a blanket I slept on top of, lysol.
Nothing was not a very welcoming place it waa very dirty and had to wait for some to come and unlock the front door for us to check in Nothing some one try to brake into our room and the room was not clean at all we had a nonsmoking room but the room next to us was a smoking room. We had no phone in the room the bathroom tie look like some one use it before we got there their was blood all on the floor by our door and the stairs the place need to be inspected so many things was very unsafe at this place never ever will i go back to this place
