The view from the room over the park was nice, the morning porter and receptionist were both friendly and helpful The night staff we found to be rude and unhelpful, the so called restaurant they advertised only served breakfast and we were led to believe they did dinners etc, after treking around the city and up the very steep hill to the Sana Rex we wanted a well deserved drink in the bar and our bed (hard and uncomforable as it was) the bar shuts at 11pm as however at 10:40pm when we arrived in we asked for a quick drink before heading to bed and were told no the bar is closed - we pointed out the sign suggesting otherwise & the rude man again just dismissed us with a wave and said it's closed. We had booked the romantic package - lovely...shame the rest of our stay was anything but in our cramped room with rock hard beds & flat pillows! Never again!!
it has a good location and a beautifull view
Good service, nice location and very clean room. The hotel is somewhat uphill, so preppare to climb a bit.
Quite good location for the reasonable price. The breakfast was tasty enough. Hotel staff was kind with good English. Elevator was very busy and broken for one day. Didn't feel envy for people living i.e. on the 8th floor..
We have stayed at Sana Rex almost 20 times in the past five years. We chose it by random the first time we came and never thought of looking for another hotel when we return to Lisbon for a professional project. The staff is friendly, courteous, concerned for our welfare, and extremely loyal to the hotel and to each other. The complimentary buffet breakfast is a terrific way to start the day.Location is wonderful, across the street from lovely Parc Eduardo ., easy walk to Gulbenkian Museum and nice walk down Avenidada Liberdade to Rossio Square. I think they should offer free internet access.
The breakfast was above average. Other than one man, the staff was very friendly. Public transportation in the area The hotel is on the top of a good-sized hill. Taking the bus or a taxi is the only way to avoid a big hill climb. The room was small. Fitting an average size person on the toilet met with some challenges.
staff really helpful
Of course, the setting of the hotel is very good and the standard is very good. no complaints, I would advise the staff to go on 'n english language course.
no Capuccino for breakfast
Comfortable rooms with views from the balcony to the park and Lisbon; bathroom was a bit small but adequate; good buffet breakfast to start the day, great location; taxi rank right outside the hotel, relaxed and quite location and easily accessible to motorway for travelling with a car.
The rooms were big and cosy! Extremely worth the price! Near the metro, near the city centre, hotel totally worth its 4 stars and the price is so cheap! Nothing at all!
The Check-in staff was very helpful in getting me from a Twin-Bed to a Double Bed correcting a slight mishap promptly (I think the helpful lad's name was José Costa). Booking Business Room ended us up on 9th out of 10. I could catch a glimpse of the park which was pretty ok. The decor is simple and nice. Very comfortable matresses :) Very clean (as I have been accustomed by the Fenix chain Hotels), despite the Bathtub having a patch that was slightly worn.
I liked the location, comfort, services, price, the relaxed atmosphere, short walk to the city centre, close to the airport, breakfast and the staff. it was quite cold in the room and the air condition did not funcion although the staff was helpful
The hotel is in walking distance from downtown. The room was clean and comfortable. I had free wifi access in the room. Breakfast was delicious and included in room price.
Helpful staff, Breakfast was quite good. Room was small but not so bad for 1
Very clean and comfortable...good breakfast... Just had to wait to check in, till 2 pm
The location is great and it is excellent value for the money. The breakfast is very good and the hotel is clean.
The location. The Family room where we stayed had pull down beds that you can feel the bed springs on your back. One thin pillow for each 4 beds, No alarm clock, Empty and Dirty reefer. Difficult access to Cabinets due to positioning of beds. Limited choices of food for the breakfast. Would not go back to this hotel again.
I liked the tranquillity of the street, the fact that it was very close to the metro Parque (just 4 stops to reach Rossio) but it was also perfect to walk down from Av. de Liberdade to Praça de Dom Pedro (about 10 minutes). Breakfast was perfect and complete with salty and sweet, hot and cold food. Room was clean and staff very friendly. There is no wi-fi connection in the room but you can ask to use the computer in the main hall (they give you username and password for 15 minutes connection for free)
Good central position, very helpful staff, good breakfast and modern style room, parking Getting to carpark convoluted due to Lisbon's geography but grateful to get a carpark in such a central position
it's pretty close from the airport the staff, especially at the front desk, was terrible. There's not much to see near the hotel.
Clean and modern. Unable to provice the requested room i.e. double non smoking. Had to settle for 2 single beds
Price poor breakfast
I normally stay at sana, always comfortable with super comfy beds and good size rooms This time I got bedbugs bites all over forcing me to go to the local urgent care resulting in 3 days out of my trip purpose. Called management and got no reply or follow up. Stay away from room 1001!!!!
Ideally situated for my business purpose. Staff is very friendly and effective. Real value for money.
I loved the lcd tv on the room, very nice! breakfast is OK, staff is pretty nice the bath had hair in it, the towels were old
The price of internet connection and the fact of having internet connection only on ground floor, first and second floor. No connection on the bedrooms. All the rest were good.
price, sanitation Thin walls... people next door on last night were drunk and making to much noise... however after telling the reception, they did something about it. 7€ / 24h !!! for parking your car in the garage
Good location: very close to Lisbon zoo. We have booked a double non-smoking room and were travelling with a 2 year old child. When we arrived, we had a double smoking room allocated. Staff was not receptive initially to the fact that my wife was pregnant and could smell smoke miles away! After a long discussion and another re-location to a tiny twin bedroom, they offered us a double non-smoking bedroom in 12th floor, which had great views.
It was where the group I was joining was meeting. The staff were very helpful in giving directions on how to get places, getting taxi and such. The buffet breakfast was minimal at best. The mini bar wasn't ever refilled and there was nowhere else in the hotel or environs to get softdrinks or snacks except the very expensive bar.
Everybody was helpfull and efficient, but special thanks to the girls in the counter. Sandra was the best.
Loved the price and hospitality! A bit far from the center of Lisboa... Without a car or bike it could be quite a bit of a walk to the beaches and the center of everything.
Friendly staff and location (very very citycentre) Airco was not working and sleeping with windows open was no option due to noise outside on the streets. The very friendly hotelstaff moved us to another room.
Hotel is on a very central location (just a few meters from Restauradores Metro Station), which makes it convenient to move around the different neighbourhoods (Baixa, Libertades, Rossio, Bairro Alto, etc) or connect to train stations and airport. The staff was very friendly and willing to assist you on your needs and queries about the city. Because the hotel just opened 3 weeks before my stay, they were still dealing with getting the city permit to use the a/c in the bedrooms. So, I stayed there for 9 nights w/o a/c although the staff provided an electric vent for my use. It made it easier to stand the hot nights in Lisbon.
It was so charming and beautiful and modern in design. I loved it and plan on returning. It was in a great location near everything. My room was very small but that is what I booked. Plus if your on vacation you shouldnt be in your room except to sleep, so it was ok.
Very modern and hip design, wi-fi in the rooms and a good breakfast. Great central location that wasn't small. The rooms are small (I stayed in a double and felt like I would have been cramped with a second person).
Central location, nice design, friendly stuff, - From 9 days, we had 5 days no internet-connection in the room - ventilation system from the reataurants next door is loud an stinky (when you open the window) - double standard room is small
The hotel's position was extremely central, but relatively quiet as it was down a side road off one of the main squares. I thought the interior design was fun, and made a refreshing change from the hideous chintz one often gets in this class of hotel. There was a lovely sun terrace on which guests can eat breakfast and all the rooms had Korres toiletries, which is always a bonus! Services were a bit random and didn't work all the time E.G. the lift wasn't working when we arrived, the wi-fi was really weak, the air conditioning was broken and the card machine had to be repaired before we could check out. However it sort of fitted with the 'randomness' of Portugal, was only mildly annoying and didn't spoil the stay.
Excellent location. Very clean hotel. Excellent value for money. Lovely breakfast. Perfect for weekend break. No kettle in room. Room sometimes cold. Can hear some noise from corridors.
Excellent location, nicely styled; great value for the money. Booked a 'superior' room and received a free upgrade to 'Family'. Rooms were small (even the largest); beds uncomfortable. Visited in winter, and the heating did not work for the first night - it was the next day before they fixed it. But, the most annoying part: the wireless internet connection did not work at all. Everytime this was mentioned to the staff, they were very dismissive, and almost rude. They offered the use of the one iMac at the check-in desk, which was not at all practical. It seemed like they knew the internet was not working, and lied about it, while expressing 0 interest in having it fixed. A major negative for an otherwise great stay.
position of hotel is wonderful, transportation is very easty from hotel to anywhere and to hotel. rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel staff is very helpful. air condition was big problem. management of otel wrote a "sorry note" for it but there was no date on his note. So I don't think air condition problem will be solve soon. Potential customer should be carefull about it. If air condition doesn't work you should open room's window but terrible noise comes from environment. it is not easy to sleep.
Very nice designhotel in the centre of Lisbon, prices are ok, breakfast with famous pasteis de Belem !
Comfortable and relaxing hotel conveniently situated for all City Centre sightseeing with excellent Public Transport links. Walking distance approx 20 mins from main City centre. Helpful staff and very good facilities. Could not fault at all.
It's location is quite convenient. The reception staff is obviously not qualified. There was a lack of good will from many people, if some areas are not available why not using the rest the best you can.
central location, very polite staff, cleanliness. rooms are a bit small, but this is not a major inconvenient.
very friendly staff on arrival, very convenient location for exploring the city - close to the start of the city bus tours and handy metro station Not any fault of the hotel but would have been nice to have had a great selection of restuarants in the immeadiate vicinity for the evenings
The Hotel is excellent on all levels, the Bar and lobby are beautifully executed with a modern and clean look, the bedrooms taking on the same style. Although small the rooms are very comfortable & little touches like electric curtains and beautiful mood lighting all help.Bathrooms are again small but finished to an excellent standard with large shower stall and funky green tiling throughout.
Convenient location. Not having free wifi is unacceptable these days. Reception staff (young males) were slow and indifferent. The only hotel we stayed in during 5 weeks that rigidly enforced a 2.00pm check -in. ok, but probably would not bother staying again.
very good breakfast we booked twin room and the hotel gived us DBL.Change was made after first night because they havent any twin room immediately.
Convenient Location Minor detail but not having hot enough water for tea during the breakfast or not being able to open any window in the room
When we've arrived at the hotel the receptionist initiall asked from us to stay in a one room, because yoi didn't have another available. Then after 2 hours we've been advised that it was a mistake and there was another room.
Access to Lisbon centre & facilities Breakfast only fair. Scrambled eggs cold, bacon greasy, limlted fruit juice range and milk for cereal not cold( typical however for many hotels)
I really liked the fact that I had my own room.. It was very clean and nice ,, the owner is very nice and it's great that he's there 24 hrs.. The neighborhood where the hotel is located..
The hotel was within 10-15 minutes walk of the city center. Some of the staff spoke very little English, but you cannot be mad about that - afterall we were in their country.
close to metro station Intendente poor location in terms of noise and ambience (beggars etc.)
great value for money meant the BDC had more Euros to spend on Super Bock whilst observing Brazillian dancing girls not all of the party could check in until 7pm!
Nothing very good Front desk atendent did not give any support, far from centre, close the train station, but during the night is impossible go out, a lot of thiefs close the hotel.
Cleanliness of the room. Very helpfull staff, specially the night receptionist. Don't miss breakfast at Pastelaria Delta, 20 meters away on the same side. Good and cheap. The reception desk is at the second floor, no elevator. No room insonorization. Is like you sleep in the street. No breakfast. The neighbourhood is not very nice, even if it's not far from center. Is difficult to find a parking place in the area.
The number is very comfortable. The owner is very happy and always redy to help. The undeground station Intendente is only 5 feet near. Extremely well!!!
Central location Noise from main road
Excellent. Very clean. Staff very kind and helpful. Staff speeks French. Hotel well situated near metro station Intendente. You can walk to the center. Great experience!
24 hours open. very nice too close to the street, so a little bit noisy.
The staff were across the board knowledgeable, courtesous and most pleasant to deal with. They went out of their way to be helpful when I had a question or a problem. This evaluation also extends to the SwissCom staff whom I spoke to by phone to troubleshoot an Internet issue. They are an outstanding crew of people, who are very service-oriented! I would have preferred more choice on the food menu. The setting was very nice and the staff terrific, but for a vegetarian, there was limited menu.
Comfortable and good. No complaints
Rooms are very nice and quite big. Location is three minutes walk to metro. Its restaurant is not separated from the lobby, so you cannot eat undisturbed. It looked like they were surprised that they had some guests in the restaurant, because it took a long while before staff showed up. The dish we had was not as expected. There were electricity problems in the room. The water temperature of the shower was not constant. Sound of airplanes is disturbing in the early morning.
Cosy hotel The showers (pressure was a bit too low)
Staff were very nice. Room was not very big. Airplanes voice was molestimg.
I stayed in the normal room type and it was very good: clean, comfortable, with a very good mattress. The hotel is very conveniently located, close to Bus, Metro, Railway and the Airport. Hotel staff is very courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very good as well. Internet access is available through Swisscom service, which was quite bad: poor bandwidth for an outrageous price. The hotel reception area and the breakfast room allowed smoking, which created a smokey and unpleasant environment.
The staff is friendly and helpful. It is very well located with easy access to public transportation, walking distance to shopping, food and the park across the street is great for leisurely walk or run. Very good breakfast buffet included in the price of the room. Not applicable--I have stayed here before and will stay again; perfect for the business traveler
Very nice and well located hotel. Its close to the metro station Opera.
Conveniently close to a metro station and located in a easy of access area. The room was very comfortable although a bit hot. Breakfast could be way better.
Compared to the NH Parque, the beds are much more comfortable and the rooms more spacious. Nice to have ironing board and excellent full-length mirrors on closet door, behind room door. Nice round table with chairs for working. Air conditioning worked great. Metro (entre campos station) immediately across the street; very convenient! Late housekeeping services--I'd return to my room between 4/4:30pm and my room had not been cleaned...When I brought this up to the front desk, they would get it done, but I had to wait in lobby. Breakfast selection is limited when compared to than the NH Parque.
Staff (front desk, cleaning and room-service) is extremely friendly, informative, courteous and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. Great feather pillows and top-notch cleanliness throughout. Need to place alarm clocks in the rooms and upgrade/update the blow driers in the bathroom. Hotel has smoking and non-smoking rooms available however the breakfast dining area should not have this option; it should be all non-smoking.
Really liked the fact they had king size beds. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect. The rooms are small though i have booked a superior double room.
the location of the hotel and quality of its staff and facilities were ideal for our city break
location small room
The location is great and the staff were very helpful and always friendly.
Staff was very efficient and Jose, at check-in desk was extremely helpful. I would recommend the hotel to our friends and when I return will book there. Quiet and very relaxing. His recommendations for dining, which we followed, showed me that he listened to what we liked and the recommendation was exactly as we expected. I did not read guest reviews so I cannot comment on that question
Great location, close walking to pedestrian mall. Clean hotel and friendly staff.
The room and the bed was very comfortable. Good location, walking distance to most sights and shopping/restaurants.
Wonderful hotel! everyone was so friendly and the room was a good size. The front desk was so helpful with anything that you needed. Also, it was right in front of the Agenda train station, making it super convenient to come and go to the airport but I didn't even use the train station to travel around downtown Lisbon or Alfama as everything was within walking distance!
The staff was excellent, curteous and attentive. The hotel was clean and the room was frequently serviced. The room had a lovely terrace. We received a courtesy champagne for my wife's birthday - nice surprise. The room, although called luxury was rather adequate in size and in an unusual shape. The TV (both quality and content) needs upgrading.
We liked the location and the Staff were very helpful. The staff did everything they said they would do and we appreciated their positivity and quick response concerning the bed.. The bathroom was too small for 2 people. The mattress had to be turned or replaced( not sure which one) because it had dips on both sides. The restaurant was over priced. The one dinner we had was very good and the presentation was beautiful, however, for 2 vodka tonics with absolute vodka cost 34 euro and the lobster salad, while beautifully presented, was 19 euro for 2 small claws and some greens.
Overall great hotel Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes
Good location in center of city, nice rooms, good breakfast
Location and the friendly staff.
The location, the late check out without being a problem for the Hotel, room service The pillows were not that confortable
The friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good beds and the swimming pool.
the reception staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good english no
The location was good and the double glazing made the hotel quiet despite the cental location. Breakfast was varied and well presented. A very poor example of the usually very good NH hotels chain. Furnishings looked shabby, carpets in the corridors were wrinkled and stained. The layout of the rooms is odd - the first thing to greet you as you walk through the door is a depressing mini kitchen with nothing in it - and in our case only one cup! The work table in the sitting room has no plugs near it. Lighting is dim and as most of the rooms look out to internal corridors this makes them very gloomy. The receptionists are efficient but remote and unsmiling - althought the rest of the staff on our visit were friendly and helpful. Having to pay for internet connection (after 1st 15minutes during your visit) is poor on a business hotel of this grading.
location, breakfast, room size staff were not really smilling a lot
easy quick access to center of lisbon, comfortable rooms, good pool on , good breakfast, friendly staff design and interior, Tv size and channels
Staff does not have eye for details and is not very helpfull (for instance in buying train tckets)
friendly intuitive staff, beautifully deigned rooms, good food, good location lack of equipments in the gym
Excellent breakfast. When I requested a view of the castle, the hotel provided us with a room with a wonderful view.
Clean place to rest Wrong directions to find the parking
Very impressed. Breakfast wonderful with so much choice. Bar rather overpriced
The attitude of the staff and the central location It seemed odd that you couldn't go from the top of the hotel to the bottom without changing lifts as they are all public floors.
the decor was very well done.... the energy savings exhibited in the corridors is brilliant - lights dim and activate when you open your door. As with many Wuropean hotels, the lighting level in the public spaces is a bit harsh. It would be nice to see the art highlighted with light and other lighting dimmable. Piano Player was lovely and the perfect end to a trip. Smokers... the beds were rock hard and I would definately recommend the hotel but would caution US travelers the firmness of the bed as we are use to US hotels that offer luxury bed experiences.
Excellent rooms, excellent breakfast, good location in nice area, fair rate
Breakfast buffet Location
.The ambiance of the hotel was excellent. Due to the contemporary décor.
breakfast safe box no good, not much TV channels
Fantastic location with a small balcony overlooking the praca da figueira. Although directly facing the plaza, triple room was very quiet. It helped that there was an extra door between the bedroom and hallway. Excellent restaurant next door where we tried to eat most meals (tasty, great selection, cheaper than other restaurants in the area and great staff). Small wardrobe for 3 people. Night staff not so patient and helpful. Rooms were on the fourth floor and stairs were somewhat steep and long for older people.
Very neat hotel and in the perfect location. Staff is very nice! Be prepared for stairs with no elevator %)
the room was spacious and clean. The lobby was comfortable, the restaurant excellent, but the top was the breakfast which was kind of an early lunch. Terrific the prices were expressed without VAT. We were surprised to had to pay a higher rate than the one fixed on the internet due to VAT. This was the first time
room's comfort, good position
I have been at the Zenit Lisboa 3 times so far -- never been disappointed. N/A
The location is a couple of KM from where you might like to eat in the evening, but is close to the Metro. Lisbon is basically a spreadout city and the metro is needed to get around. The staff were most helpful at reception. The rooms are servicable, a bit older and smaller than other hotels, but they work. Unfortunatelly we tried the restaurant for dinner. I suggest this be avoided - lack of quality and atmosphere. There are many other great places to eat in Lisbon.
cleanliness cleaning lady would come in without knocking, walls to thin - could hear people
The hotel is pretty centric, it takes 20 minutes to walk to the centre, the rooms are nice and clean, there's no noise to bother you and the price is ok.
The Zenit was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There are a couple of pastelarias just opposite for an excellent cheap breakfast. The hotel is easily accessible from the airport by bus and just 100m from the bus stop at Saldanha (15mins). It is well placed for exploring the city just a short bus ride (from Saldanha) or 20min walk to centre.
parking garage - too small and very difficult tp park
great location, walking distance to Metro
We had booked only one night and unfortunatly the could not extend but we're helpful in finding another close by.
Safe & clean environment There was no parking available.
Good location, friendly staff, sufficient breakfast. No room service. Reception insists we have to go downstairs if we want anything.
The hotel is brand new, which is a very good diference from the rest of the hotels in the area The car parking garage is awful, if you have a car don't leave it there.
Everything was new and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is convenient (sightseeing buses leave from the square right in front of the hotel; also metro station). Access to wireless internet (the signal was strong enough even in my room, which was on 1st floor). I wish there had been a place to eat in the hotel or more restaurants to choose from in the neighbourhood, as I didn't feel like going back to the city centre in the evening. Also, the drains of the washing basin and shower seemed to be blocked. (I stayed only for one night so it wasn't worth complaining about.)
Very good location, in a walking distance to the city center. A little bit noisy if staying in a room faced to the street.
Very good location, new hotel, execellent conditions, can be considered a 4 star hotel
very good design, tasty breakfast, good staff nothing
The decoration The bathroom is so small!!! And the breakfast is very poor, and the staff working on the breakfast room is very slow an somewhat antipathic
Everythig is very good in the hotel. Personell is very nice and helpfull. I actually liked evrything in the hotel. no bad comments
really clean and modern. right at the center of the city. the internet fee was pretty expensive.
