Cons:
The car wasn't ready for pickup on time. RX drugs from a previous rental had been left in the glove compartment. The car had a strange odor, like someone had smoked in it and they tried to cover up the smell.6.0 Okay

Nothing. There wasn't a single positive part of my experience.Cons:
I left work early and traveled almost 90 mins to get to Hertz. I confirmed with a woman on the phone what time I would be there earlier that day and yet when I arrived on time, there was a sign on the office saying they would be back 30 mins after we had arranged. I waited the 30 mins then went inside only to be told that reservations couldn't be made with a debit/credit card, only a credit card. I made the reservation with a debit/credit card, and I spoke to the representative on the phone. At no point did anyone warn me that I wouldn't be able to use my card. They offered to pay part of the cost to Uber out to a Hertz that took debit/credit cards, but that store didn't have any economy in stock. I wasn't offered an upgrade or anything. I was told of two nearby car rental places and ended up walking to both of them in the cold before taking public transportation back home. This was by far one of the worst customer experiences of my life. Now I know to just take the Greyhound bus when I have to travel. Clearly Hertz as a company doesn't have their act together, since two franchises failed me.Avis

Staff at pickup (in MA) and drop off (in NC) were outstanding. The vehicle was comfortable and easy to manage. It was also much better on gas than I anticipated.Cons:
The vehicle was very well maintained. However, the console had not been wiped down. It was dusty and the side console was sticky. Still, this was minor and did not impact the overall excellent experience.10.0 Wonderful
