Location, size of rooms Over decorated, bit to dark
Everything about the Mainport Design Hotel in Rotterdam is a thoughtful, and comfortable design experience. From it's location overlooking the historic harbor and adjacent to the Erasmus Bridge to position next to the Tram transit stop...is a well connected position in Rotterdam. My room was very comfortable and a high-design style. Service was excellent throughout, not stuffy or pretentious, but well mannered and accessible. Some 5-star hotels trying too hard to be exceptional, making the visitor feel like it's a privilege just being a guest. But I felt that the hotel and staff really are proud of their facility and are eager to share the good vibe with their clients. Only getting to stay two nights.
Perfect view from the 12th floor. Nice bar, good service. Cool room.
The Staff were the kind I would happily employ and had great temperaments suitable to the `Industry. Good position for Museums and a quick ride to Theaters. Beds too soft and ended up with a backache.Pillows too thin for comfort of neck. Smart tap design in bathroom was difficult to decipher re bath or shower etc until shown and no signage or directions to tell you how to use them. Design upmarket utilitarian and found anywhere. Usual expensive mini bars and snacks.
We loved the view at the town and the harbour from the 13. etage. The breakfast was good, but expensive. The room was excellent.
Very loud, no alternative room available, under renovation, no fitness area.
The hotel was very good value, the rooms were well kept and the staff were very frienly.
Views from all areas Swivel chairs in water bar too fast after a few drinks!
Great location and good connection to public transport Bathroom was rather small
Swimming pool and sauna/steamroom were excellent, and free internet access very useful. Easy to find and accessible to tram and metro. Breakfast was expensive.
Room was fantastic and room service excellent. Would go again
Location. Breakfast good. Style of rooms was not that I excepted. Whole floor carpet was awful, totally different style than other things. Excepted also more from SPA: No private rooms for changing clothes. No bath jacket + shoes at room.
A wonderful meal, a comfy bed The room was a little too hot and with the window open, we suffered from mosquito bites
very good location not being able to open the windows
Easy Tram access to Train Station, Service staff attentive to my needs, Quiet rooms, availability of Internet in lobby
Room layout Breakfast reception and area layout could be improved
clean, comfort, cordial staff
the hotel is near at the shopping centre and musea.
Ease of access to Rotterdam Central, great restuarants nearby and warm confortable rooms and services
Great location - just next to the metro station, and in walking distance from the shopping area, museums and restaurants, 10 min walk from the central station. Very convenient. Car parking seems expensive, but compared to the prices in the city, it's a bargain :) Lovely view from the hotel room of the Rotterdam panorama. Room was clean, comfy beds. Plus in the lobby there was a screen with train information - very handy. The sauna was not hot enough :(
Perfect location, large, cosy rooms, nice balconies and very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money.
internet access a good bonus, no fresh cut fruit at breakfast, having to leave key at front desk when leaving each time and having to buzz to get back in, some street signage was misleading (one side of sign was ok, other pointed in wrong direction), no shower curtain on shower, slippery shower floor, excess furniture in room (round glass top table, plastic flower arrangements), no fridge or c/t making facilities in room.
friendliness, cleanness and no disturbance maybe bill wise
Very good location in central Rotterdam. Nice breakfast. Every night a strong smoking stink came up to my room which was located on 1st floor, I think from the lobby and the bar. It was very unpleasant. I could recommend this hotel if they got rid of the smoking stink!
I found the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel has character and is very central.
Very nice position, quiet street, breakfast fine. Smelt faintly of cigarette smoke, not a plus.
staff services...very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Steep steps and narrow hallways
First of all: it was nice to see seasoned and authentic Rotterdam employees instead of young inexperienced staff one comes across so many times. The hotel had a nice cozy atmosphere, my room on the back was very quiet. The location was perfect for museum visits and ending the night at Rotown and then walk back. When breakfast was also good, I realised I could not say a single bad thing about my stay here. I will definitely book again.
with good environment, smile loving guys at the reception desk. no shopping mall around, taxi what hotel helped to call up will request for tips compulsory.
Nice, cosy, family-feel hotel
Very friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms and everything worked. I liked having a fridge that was not cluttered with a mini-bar.In the centre near to a pedestrian zone with shops and bars. An excellent breakfast included and free internet access.
Overall a pleasant stay in a good location Noise from other guests - one night only
Very central Not all rooms have wifi in room
All very pleasant; great location None
I liked it. The brekfast is good. Special thanks to Sa, from the staff., He was very helpfull and gave me good tips.. The hotel is in a central and near to the museuums Poor lighting in my room.. On Saturday night was very noise because there is a night club close to the hotel but on suday night is quiet area.
Location, breakfast good and people friendly. Nothing- it was fine.
Very convenient location (10 min. walk from the main station, tramway and metro "downstairs"). Very hot in the room. Little bit noisy outside (two or three cafés opposite).
our party of 9 went for the annual rotterdam carnival and the hotel emma happened to be on the route of the street parade. we sat on the roof terrace and watched from above....fabulous! it didn't have a bar/lounge/communal area
not far from the train station and the room is clean, all facility are in good condition. none
Better staircase. No
no there was nothing i did not like friendle staff and nice hotel all aroned
Great - Family owned hotel with very friendly staff.
super room, great location intend to return next year for the third time. secure parking [payable]
Breakfast was very good and staff was very nice. Lovely fresh little bouquets on the table. Security was very good. My husband felt that his sheets were not changed. The bathroom shower water flowed beyond the curtain. It was expensive for the state of the room.
quiet neighborhood, nice place near centrum
The breakfasts were excellent. It was very convenient to travel from the hotel to the Ahoy arena.
The staff was quite helpful in explaining how to get around Rotterdam, how to travel to various sights, and where to find food in the area. We enjoyed our stay and have no complaints
Excellent location and staff very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent with lots of variety and fresh food. Unfortunately we had a problem with mosquitos in our room and were bitten to pieces. This dis spoil our stay however we would still recommend the hotel for a tri[ to Rotterdam.
Quiet area of town Too noisy - the room was above the reception and we could hear music all night.
A quiet and spacy place to stay
It is a very clean hotel with friendly stuff, nice breakfast room and good breakfast with absolutely divine croissants. To much noise through the walls especially in the early morning.
lack of parking. hotel should have a deal with the secure parking under the Erasmusbrug
location was perfect for me room was very cold
Architecture and size of rooms was great. Breakfast room was impressive. Quiet and very comfortable night. Would recommend this hotel.
Beautiful spacious room and bathroom, extremely friendly staff, comfortable bed (apart form the pillows). Some minor points: pillow too thick, no BBC 1 & 2 on TV, WiFi a little pricy (many hotels these days offer free continuous WiFi which is great for the business traveller), lack of hot-water kettle.
Location You can stay at this hotel if you do not want following things Reception after 23 hours, no minibar in the room, no iron and iron desk, no ironing service, no bar in the hotel. It does no offer services that supposed to be in four star hotel, I would consider changing this hotel to two or three stars.
friendly, quiet, excellent beds and a strong commitment to helping others.
the modern style, cosy, our room was really full of light (from outside)
The rooms are huge, stylish and very comfortable. The staff is friendly. Bathrobes were a plus. The breakfast was quite average. The basics are there and a long the right lines, but there could have been a bigger selection.
The staff was really friendly, the room was very nice, big and clean. It was a bit cold in the room and they said, that they can only heat up at night. But it wasn't really bad.
Breakfast provided at the hotel was nice. Furniture of the rooms was bit old.
It is very easy to get to and very convenient for the business meeting I attend at the WTC.The shower in my room was excellent.
Nice hotel nearby city centre, plenty of shops and nice restaurants nearby. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast was also ok but the best of this hotel is the staff, they are super. Parking fee
Room size was OK The heating was not on during the day. So it became a bit cold. An electric heater was provided but still....
location, close to public transport
staff would have liked gym
Breakfast was good Shower not installed proberly. Floors get wet when taking a shower
The bed was comfortable There was nothing to do and it was very basic
Great price for a small, clean room near some great restaurants and bars. Furniture old and worn.
Only stayed one night but it was pretty reasonably priced for the location. Walking distance to several local restaurants and bars. No parking for hotel guests. The public parking areas were pretty expensive.
Breakfast that was incuded although it was packed The staff was unorganized and very slow. Had to wait for a front desk person and when they were with me, they seemed like they did not know what they were doing. The location is not as ideal as they advertise. Wireless Internet use expensive
Easiness of getting in and out. The location is right next to the main shopping street and 10mins by foot from central station.
Everything was new and clean. The Internet was very strong. The location was very convenient. I appreciated that daily housekeeping, coffee cost extra, and that there was MINIMAL furniture/accessories. It kept the price affordable. I felt like I was going to roll off of the bed all the time. It was a twin bed.
We only stayed 1 night but everything was very good.Good location for a city break tram stops right outside the hotel.
The bed was very comfortable, I slept very well. Good douche The view from the room
Location, the city centre is nearby. The lift stuggles up to its destination and very small bathroom
The location is pretty good.
fantastic! the room overlooked the Erasmus brug, the staff were friendly and helpful. the room was spacious and comfortable. we shall defintely be returning
Nice, cosy rooms. View on the river! The room was a little bit small
It had a nice view of the river and Erasbus Bridge. The view was wonderful especially at night. The bath room was very clean. It was close to city centre. The room was a bit small, but it was OK for us.
The hotel was comfortable & staff were friendly. No
Convenient location. Harbour view Small bathroom
The room was clean and large and was like staying in an apartment. mini bar was included in the price and was generous.
Very well appointed room- no fuss- efficient - pleasant - great size - like home and with service The no common areas and amenities could be bad for a longer stay
It did not feel like a hotel - it felt like my apartment. It'slocation meant I had everything on my door step and there is no need for a bar etc . I booked the hotel because it was close to my offices in Rotterdam - but I was very pleased with the "feel". The staff were very helpful in soritng out my booking and travel arrangments.
The room was beautiful, bathroom very modern and clean. Room equipped with Nespresso machine, water, beer, wine and crisps for free. One could not say "not liked" - but if one is not mobile, A Small Hotel is not a good choice (many very steep stairs).
The Xbar (included in the room price) was a good thing since I often arrived late in the evening and had no time to buy something to eat. The ironing machine in the room I found it useful for business travelers. Nothing, really.
I loved the comfort of the room, the relaxing atmosphere and the feeling of being home. The absence of a reception outside working hours was not a problem. The breakfast served in the room was very pleasant.
The location of this hotel is fantastic, in the heart of one of Rotterdam's most atmospheric streets; with many great restuarants and boutique shops just minutes away. The rooms were very tastefully done, maintaining the charm of the historic house but with the serinity of a modern spa; clean modern decor and beautiful new bathroon. The room was spacious and airy; I loved coming in at the end of the day and taking a wine on a big comfy chair and enjoying the peace of my room. Along with the selection of beverages (water, soda, beer, wine, tea and coffee) and snacks (chocolate, nuts, soup), having the IPOD music station and some DVDs were a wonderful touch. The hotel was also lovely and quiet, no noise from other rooms or street. I would have liked a reception as the hotel is next to a coffee shop.
terrace, free mini bar, very different, no pointless hotel fripperies
Ideal location, close to many good restaurants & museums. Fantastic room with all the facilities you could need.
Friendly, professional, personal service and great attention to detail
