Everything about the Mainport Design Hotel in Rotterdam is a thoughtful, and comfortable design experience. From it's location overlooking the historic harbor and adjacent to the Erasmus Bridge to position next to the Tram transit stop...is a well connected position in Rotterdam. My room was very comfortable and a high-design style. Service was excellent throughout, not stuffy or pretentious, but well mannered and accessible. Some 5-star hotels trying too hard to be exceptional, making the visitor feel like it's a privilege just being a guest. But I felt that the hotel and staff really are proud of their facility and are eager to share the good vibe with their clients. Only getting to stay two nights.
Location, size of rooms Over decorated, bit to dark
The big bed, size of room, friendliness of staff, the tram stop right across the street from the hotel. Did not like that we could not use the fridge for our own things, and moving anything inside would incur a charge.
Location is what we were looking for. Very good hotel with friendly staff. Would go back and also recommend this place
Hotel well positioned near to centre and walking distance to rail station. Good value for money with competant staff. Unfortunately a wedding party was staying at hotel on the Saturday, and were noisily walking the corridors till 3-30am. I'm sure an isolated case though.
The staff are excellent. The rooms are old,... needs major upgrade.
nice hotel lovely bed and pillows, quiet hotel with good service nothing, will definately stay there again
Friendly staff, nice clean rooms We were given 10th floor room which is not ideal but maybe that was the only one availble.
Hotel is dated but very clean. The breackfast is delicious No parking space and the public parking is very very expensive.Free parking from 23 to 12 Saturday to Sunday.
The hotel is renovated and up to the latest standards of comfort and luxury. It is quiet and soundproofed. Food is excellent. The only thing to criticize is Internet speed but they do offer a fast paid version if you need that.
The staff we encountered was excellent in all areas of the facility, friendly, helpful and professional minor maintenance in the room was required - broken hair blower hose, poor ventalation in the the bathroom
It was close to the casino & a nice hotel A little pricey
location close to the town centre, beds very comfortable, possibility to smoke in the room the staff was extremely rude especially the night staff, I also found them quite aggressive
In general the hotel is very old. The room had a weird smell. The worst Hilton ever!!!
Swimming pool and sauna/steamroom were excellent, and free internet access very useful. Easy to find and accessible to tram and metro. Breakfast was expensive.
Location. Breakfast good. Style of rooms was not that I excepted. Whole floor carpet was awful, totally different style than other things. Excepted also more from SPA: No private rooms for changing clothes. No bath jacket + shoes at room.
The hotel was very good value, the rooms were well kept and the staff were very frienly.
Perfect view from the 12th floor. Nice bar, good service. Cool room.
Views from all areas Swivel chairs in water bar too fast after a few drinks!
Very loud, no alternative room available, under renovation, no fitness area.
Room was fantastic and room service excellent. Would go again
Great location and good connection to public transport Bathroom was rather small
We loved the view at the town and the harbour from the 13. etage. The breakfast was good, but expensive. The room was excellent.
The Staff were the kind I would happily employ and had great temperaments suitable to the `Industry. Good position for Museums and a quick ride to Theaters. Beds too soft and ended up with a backache.Pillows too thin for comfort of neck. Smart tap design in bathroom was difficult to decipher re bath or shower etc until shown and no signage or directions to tell you how to use them. Design upmarket utilitarian and found anywhere. Usual expensive mini bars and snacks.
Very central location. Next to de Bijenkorf. The room itself is al little bit out-dated. Curtains are a greyish white instead of white. Bed is not the newest of beds. But for the price ok.
Your women personal, very receptive, kind and nice. The position of hotel is in a very nice town area. Is not possible to have something for eat after 11 PM. Fun from toilette is working continously with high noise.
One of the worst rooms I have ever stayed - very depressing. Lighting was awful as was furniture. Why such a big room (defined 'suite') if over half is just empty space? It looked like a prison cell.
Central location. Near the train station and near several bars/cafes
Room was nice, not small, extra pillows, mini-bar, some magazines, bathtub (not a shower) in the bathroom.
very elegant, new and hip room interior design. Impressive bathroom. Very clean. Central position. Good breakfast also a bit expensive for the quality. noise from street
The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable We didnt take the breakfast which was a little expensive when our party was 6 people. I think yours should be inclusive of breakfast
Location, price, bar, availability of lifts
great location, nice bathroom cleanliness of my room, view to the backside, wifi with charge
well located in the centre of the city
Perfect location, large, cosy rooms, nice balconies and very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent value for money.
A wonderful meal, a comfy bed The room was a little too hot and with the window open, we suffered from mosquito bites
clean, comfort, cordial staff
the hotel is near at the shopping centre and musea.
Great location - just next to the metro station, and in walking distance from the shopping area, museums and restaurants, 10 min walk from the central station. Very convenient. Car parking seems expensive, but compared to the prices in the city, it's a bargain :) Lovely view from the hotel room of the Rotterdam panorama. Room was clean, comfy beds. Plus in the lobby there was a screen with train information - very handy. The sauna was not hot enough :(
Easy Tram access to Train Station, Service staff attentive to my needs, Quiet rooms, availability of Internet in lobby
Room layout Breakfast reception and area layout could be improved
Ease of access to Rotterdam Central, great restuarants nearby and warm confortable rooms and services
very good location not being able to open the windows
Very convenient location (10 min. walk from the main station, tramway and metro "downstairs"). Very hot in the room. Little bit noisy outside (two or three cafés opposite).
All very pleasant; great location None
Overall a pleasant stay in a good location Noise from other guests - one night only
not far from the train station and the room is clean, all facility are in good condition. none
I liked it. The brekfast is good. Special thanks to Sa, from the staff., He was very helpfull and gave me good tips.. The hotel is in a central and near to the museuums Poor lighting in my room.. On Saturday night was very noise because there is a night club close to the hotel but on suday night is quiet area.
Very friendly helpful staff. Clean rooms and everything worked. I liked having a fridge that was not cluttered with a mini-bar.In the centre near to a pedestrian zone with shops and bars. An excellent breakfast included and free internet access.
Very central Not all rooms have wifi in room
our party of 9 went for the annual rotterdam carnival and the hotel emma happened to be on the route of the street parade. we sat on the roof terrace and watched from above....fabulous! it didn't have a bar/lounge/communal area
Location, breakfast good and people friendly. Nothing- it was fine.
the rooms had space but they were not clean the tiles in the bathroom was cracked and hanging of the wall the sink was hanging of the wall and the carpet in the main room was dirty
Free internet in the lobby, staff were helpfull, location is central. condition of rooms was extremely rundown, and some things were broken and worn out.
Great value for the money, The location is right in the center face to face with Hilton Hotel and about 3 minutes from Rotterdam Central Station and 1 min from the Metro, 5 min from the Maritime Museum. Staff very friendly. Pretty nice breakfast for a 2 stars hotel and one ticket for a drink at the bar. In the last night they had a problem with heating (sunday night), in rest was very hot in the room
Handy man was helpful Elevator did not work...I Am 70 on 4th floor....firdt room, radiator leaked.....second room 2 continuos drips in bathroom...telephone system did not work...cold not call locally in Roterdam
It was warm and it was close to International trains at Rotterdam Central Station. Not enough tea and sugar
Basic rooms but so well located for the price would recommend to anyone wanting a fun filled weekend away Rooms were basic but great value
breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable elavator did not work through our journey. corridors were very noisy after 12 am on saturday night (maybe this was only related with the party at the hotel on saturday night)
All, very good
The staff The dirty place
good location, clean
Room was gloomy, bathroom was in disrepair, shower poor. Everywhere smelt of smoke and the staff smoked in the breakfast room.
Hotel staff was friendly and helpful in any situation. I was happy with the breakfast, both with its quality and the choice. Hotel is very good located, in pleasant walking distance from the train station, right in the shopping area. Free Internet, coffee maker with coffee and tea bags. The hotel is not luxury, what you get is in line with the price. Was not lucky with other guests, very noisy throughout the nights. One should try to avoid rooms looking in the inner-yard.
Staff, Cleanliness, Comfort and Novelty of the floating hotel on the harbour. No late night room service (apart from simple cheese sandwiches made especially for us by the night porter), general lack of normal hotel facilities, quite basic
Cozzy Hotel, Value for money, excelent hamburguers in the Bar, for short staying
The hotel was exactly as it looks on the website and is like a boat. Was very impressed with everything from the room to the staff and the bar.
The staff was really friendly and willing to help and give information.People at reception are very nice. The location is amazing and also close to centre and shopping centres.
Extremely friendly and helpful staff and quirkiness of the hotel being a boat!
Unique surroundings, very helpful staff Noise travels, and late night revelling by a group hindered my sleep
I liked the warm welcome of all the staff and the service.Good work guys.Way to go...cheers.... Only thing i dint like is the bed which has a joint in between which gives a uncomfortable feeling. I recommend it to be a single double bed rather than 2 single beds joined together. Some modifications or curtains can be put in place to the bathroom as the water completely spills out.
The stuff seemed to know a lot of things going on in the city. Also showed us the train schedule, a pharmacy, the closest supermarket, etc.
The staff were helpful and friendly, including the owner, barman and reception staff, and the bed was very comdfortable The bathroom was a little tight, paticularly between the shower and wash basin
Unusual room, location of the hotel on the water and the balcony (though this is extra). The shower is open so it is impossible not to wet the bathroom floor.
Breakfast that was incuded although it was packed The staff was unorganized and very slow. Had to wait for a front desk person and when they were with me, they seemed like they did not know what they were doing. The location is not as ideal as they advertise. Wireless Internet use expensive
The staff was really friendly, the room was very nice, big and clean. It was a bit cold in the room and they said, that they can only heat up at night. But it wasn't really bad.
Great price for a small, clean room near some great restaurants and bars. Furniture old and worn.
Breakfast was good Shower not installed proberly. Floors get wet when taking a shower
staff would have liked gym
Nice hotel nearby city centre, plenty of shops and nice restaurants nearby. Rooms are nice and clean, breakfast was also ok but the best of this hotel is the staff, they are super. Parking fee
The bed was comfortable There was nothing to do and it was very basic
It is very easy to get to and very convenient for the business meeting I attend at the WTC.The shower in my room was excellent.
Room size was OK The heating was not on during the day. So it became a bit cold. An electric heater was provided but still....
location, close to public transport
Only stayed one night but it was pretty reasonably priced for the location. Walking distance to several local restaurants and bars. No parking for hotel guests. The public parking areas were pretty expensive.
Breakfast provided at the hotel was nice. Furniture of the rooms was bit old.
Easiness of getting in and out. The location is right next to the main shopping street and 10mins by foot from central station.
Everything was new and clean. The Internet was very strong. The location was very convenient. I appreciated that daily housekeeping, coffee cost extra, and that there was MINIMAL furniture/accessories. It kept the price affordable. I felt like I was going to roll off of the bed all the time. It was a twin bed.
The location of this hotel is fantastic, in the heart of one of Rotterdam's most atmospheric streets; with many great restuarants and boutique shops just minutes away. The rooms were very tastefully done, maintaining the charm of the historic house but with the serinity of a modern spa; clean modern decor and beautiful new bathroon. The room was spacious and airy; I loved coming in at the end of the day and taking a wine on a big comfy chair and enjoying the peace of my room. Along with the selection of beverages (water, soda, beer, wine, tea and coffee) and snacks (chocolate, nuts, soup), having the IPOD music station and some DVDs were a wonderful touch. The hotel was also lovely and quiet, no noise from other rooms or street. I would have liked a reception as the hotel is next to a coffee shop.
The room was clean and large and was like staying in an apartment. mini bar was included in the price and was generous.
The room was beautiful, bathroom very modern and clean. Room equipped with Nespresso machine, water, beer, wine and crisps for free. One could not say "not liked" - but if one is not mobile, A Small Hotel is not a good choice (many very steep stairs).
I loved the comfort of the room, the relaxing atmosphere and the feeling of being home. The absence of a reception outside working hours was not a problem. The breakfast served in the room was very pleasant.
Very well appointed room- no fuss- efficient - pleasant - great size - like home and with service The no common areas and amenities could be bad for a longer stay
The Xbar (included in the room price) was a good thing since I often arrived late in the evening and had no time to buy something to eat. The ironing machine in the room I found it useful for business travelers. Nothing, really.
Friendly, professional, personal service and great attention to detail
Ideal location, close to many good restaurants & museums. Fantastic room with all the facilities you could need.
It did not feel like a hotel - it felt like my apartment. It'slocation meant I had everything on my door step and there is no need for a bar etc . I booked the hotel because it was close to my offices in Rotterdam - but I was very pleased with the "feel". The staff were very helpful in soritng out my booking and travel arrangments.
terrace, free mini bar, very different, no pointless hotel fripperies
