Just a few blocks from Riverwalk. They had a few breakfast items, which during the pandemic it has been hard to get anything!
The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were nice, but the rooms are small. Still, we had a King size bed and slept great.
You think you¿re getting a good price, but after doing the math I most certainly could have stayed somewhere better for the overall price. Basic cleanliness, BASIC expectations were lacking, which is made even worse during a pandemic.
Hotel is located ideally located close to the San Antonio river walk.
- Furniture, tub's wash basins badly maintained. - Bathroom tub has stain's..we didnt even step into it. - Furniture in the room needs maintenance. - I will never recommend this hotel.
From check-in to check-out, staff was friendly, informative, and always double checking to be sure my expectations and experiences were satisfied. Clean room with Alamo Plaza view, awesome cable channel selections. Endless lobby with alot to see!
them being closed down for the covid19 and no one telling us then not having enough staff to clean the rooms until after you leave this was totally unsafe and unacceptable and we should not be charged for this room--If we come down sick we will sue
Historic and different
Not the best location. Sketchy area after dark.
The only thing I liked about the hotel was the location was close to the Alamo.
1. AC not working on the 7th floor. 2. AC not working in one of the rooms assigned originally 3. AC did not cool room given until the second night we stayed there. 4. 1 of 2 elevators not working. 5. Tight rooms and elevators. 6 run down feel.
The location (albeit without a parking lot) was the best part of it because it’s so close to other businesses and parts of the city. The room too was above my expectation and would definitely rebook for another night.
The smell was that of stale air or better yet, moth balls. I would say just the implementation of automatic air fresheners would do wonders.
Rooms were really small
This was a beautiful hotel very close to local attractions. It was just a short walk around the corner to the Alamo and the River walk. The indoor pool was well heated, and has an open ceiling, and was a great way to finish off our day.
The street noise can be a bit loud at times for those of us not accustomed to the sounds of the city (not a big deal), but the front desk has taken care of that by offering earplugs to their guests. Nice touch!
This hotel is historic yet boasts updated amenities in each room, and is clean, clean, clean! Just a lovely hotel, and I will come back again.
Parking in downtown San Antonio is a real challenge. Since this hotel was built in 1800's, there is no parking garage. Parking is valeted to an off-site parking area, so you are on foot for your stay.
Breakfast was good
Little bit dated. Musty smell in the elevators.
