The Barceló Guatemala City (5-star) hotel is a fantastic urban hotel strategically located within the main business area, surrounded by restaurants, stores and entertainment areas, and only 1.5 miles from the airport and 2.8 miles from the historical center of Guatemala. The ideal city hotel for business and leisure trips.
Pros: El hotel esta viejo Los piezas nesesitan renovacion.
Pros: The service personnel are friendly, professional and efficient. The food in the restaurant was delicious and bar service was top notch. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and linens. GREAT value too!
Cons: There are many medical groups in Guatemala doing wonderful service. We were among them. However, please request that they not wear scrubs into the restaurant. We know where those medical uniforms have been and they shouldn’t be around food.
Pros: The personal attention. The breakfast options and the overall cleanliness of the facilities.
Cons: The bus service to the airport at 4 am. If they know they will have more than 10 people, they should provide 2 buses not only one. To avoid the mess, a reservation process including ticket the night before should be implemented.
Pros: Excellent breakfast, but cold most times. Buffets are tuff to keep hot. Service was great. Temperatures being taken shows resposibility.
Cons: Security in hotel was very obvious. The guys marched around like they were covert military.
Cons: The dining room and breakfast buffet has been changed since my last stay...for the worst. Food was cold, the omelet station was slow and the selections were much less than previous. The room was just OK, nothing I probably will not return in the future.
Pros: The hotel staff was excellent. The restaurant quality was very good.
Cons: We would have preferred if the courtesy van to the airport ran every half-hour, instead of every hour.
Pros: Bakfast is delicious!
Pros: Clean rooms beautiful lobby good breakfast
Cons: Slow internet, the toilette was replaced but they left too much white caulking around.
Pros: Bedroom comfortable
Cons: Key to rooms not working every single day and having to go back down to reception each time which was tine consuming. Cash point atm at the hotel charged us twice at the same time and day. Use atm elsewhere. Only realised when we got home and hsd yo tske it up with our bank. Staff at reception ignoring us in the middle of a conversation and talking to other staff. Bad manners. Making us pay full bill after second night. Realised they couldnt find one of the bar bill's. But wvrntually found it and they had added tips on withiut our knowledge. Food and drink very expensive. Bars and pizza places nearby and much cheaper Tips added on to bill which we did not know about. 8
Pros: Feeling you have that whatever problem there is with the room, you know it will be fixed graciously and respectfully. The property, although older, still is like new and welcoming. I will stay there again...in fact looking up dates right now.
Cons: Hide a bed sofas are not comfortable to sit on as sofas. Furnished in the duplex level areas.
Pros: I was abandoned by United airlines in Guatemala due to the covid-19 situation so I hunkered down here. It is near the airport and I felt safe here. The restaurants were closed by government orders so I used room service for meals and several fast food restaurants were nearby. Some grocery stores are in the area too. The staff checked temperatures of those who entered to keep everyone safe. Staff was helpful, and I used the laundry service as well. My room had a small fridge in my room too. I have stayed here previously and would stay here again.
Cons: I was disappointed that their restaurants were closed by government orders during the covid-19 situation. They are good restaurants.
Cons: nothing at all.

Pros: Good customer services, restaurants are good, love the breakfast buffet. Recommend!
Pros: A very nice hotel but the highlight of everything was how friendly the staff is at all moments. Thanks for everything and continue with the great customer service.
Cons: I think a few more signs in the parking lot directing you to the elevators of the hotel will help a bit but other than that everything was good.
Pros: The room service was excellent and the staff was amazing.
Pros: Amazing clean and lots of restaurants and shopping
Pros: Very relaxing. Especially after a long trip.
Pros: Great location, very clean and very friendly staff.
Pros: Grand Tikal Futura is a beautiful hotel, and though more expensive than most hotels in Guatemala, very worth it. I was treated well during my stay and offered assistance with anything I needed. The room was immaculately clean and the beds were firm, though comfortable. Thank you.
Cons: We did dine in the restaurant on the second floor and were overcharged for a salad we didn't order or eat. When I brought it up with the server (in Spanish), he kept apologizing, but didn't seem to want to correct it until I persisted (we had accidentally already paid him in Quetzales). I do hope the managers allow for some human error, which all servers experience from time-to-time.
Pros: Very nice Hotel, great staff
Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Breakfast is a bit pricy for what is provided.
Pros: Bed was great. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Housekeeping was very good.
Cons: Hard to get to and from the property. Suite living room furniture not comfortable.
Pros: The location
Cons: Receptionists are not very friendly. The quality of food, rooms and services went down. 10 years ago, it was a fancy hotel, bit expensive with excellent services, but now they kept the expensive rate but the services and quality went down. The restaurant is not that great anymore and the room services got worse (They messed up the orders a couple of times and took the so long to get it right).

Pros: Staff was excellent and very helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and kept clean. All appliances were working.
Cons: Remodeling going and construction was being noisy in the morning. Other than that it was a great experience.
Pros: Very clean and quiet. Shuttle to airport leaves early and is very convienant.
Cons: Hotel was under renovations. No snack shop. No vending machines. Swimming pool was closed. Unless you wanted to eat in the hotel restaurant everything you needed you have to leave the hotel. Leaving is ok in the daytime but most suggested that after dark it's safer to stay inside the hotel. If you go out don't have anything in your hands. ie phone, camera, purse. We were very disappointed that when we checked in as a couple we were given a room with two dbl beds instead of a room with one bed. Room was cramped and since we spent so much time in our room it would have been nice to sit and watch tv and not always have to sit on the bed. View from window was a nasty look at what must be the maintance area with hot water heaters. The hotel didn't seem anywhere near full so we were disappointed with our room with no view and two beds when I'm pretty sure nicer rooms were available.
Pros: The morning person working was not friendly.
Cons: Desk personnel not too friendly and seem to be bother when requesting stuff. Expensive hotel with not friendly customer service.
Pros: Excellent buffet breakfast, professional staff, great airport pickup, nice room with excellent bedding and wonderful bed, nice hot water, safe area and walking distance to zone 10 and Oakland mall.
Cons: Noise from jets taking off at peak times as airport is located bellow take off path of jets leaving.
Pros: The staff was wonderful. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and it was delicious and our waiter was great. The shuttle driver to the airport was also very friendly. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends and family to stay there.
Cons: There was quite a bit of hallway noise, doors opening and shutting, people coming in late, talking, etc. that you could hear in the room. I had to get up at 3:30 pm so would have liked a better night's sleep without getting woken up so often during the night. I heard people talking and coming in as late as 2:30 AM. I understand it is a travel hotel though, so it could have been people coming in on late flights.
Pros: The staff was very courteous and polite.
Cons: The hotel is going through a major remodeling which is not communicated. There is literally construction noise from 7am to 7PM. Additionally, there seems to be a problem with the showers where it goes from hot water to boiling hot water.
Pros: The stuff were great
Cons: One of the waiter was not kind but I understood
Pros: Easy check-in, the room was clean and comfortable beds.
Cons: I will like to see a wider selection of food in the breakfast buffet.
Pros: Clean and comfortable Ande Next I’m Breakfast con people tu Work

Featured amenities include a business center, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available on request).
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: It was very old and the room was very dark.
Pros: Nice hotel. Very small room but good since I was solo. Very good buffet breakfast.
Pros: Really comfortable stay and friendly staff. The WiFi connection was perfect.
Cons: The food is not great and it can be a bit noisy.
Pros: The staff was excellent and accommodating. Very personal and helpful. Shuttle driver was exceptionally nice and arrived on time as well got me to the airport on schedule.
Cons: Some rooms are located by a nightclub that plays loud music until 5 or 6 in the morning.Sleeping was almost impossible. Guests should be informed of this any given an option of other rooms.
Pros: breakfest ok, koffee no
Cons: the staff of reception requested payment from me by bank transfer. They said me next day , they didn't get the payment . I must to pay the card again. To this day, I don't have a double refund. I write to them and don't answer. I´ll be like to help me.
Pros: Everything and how helpful the doorman’s where
Pros: It was ok. There was a bed, it was ok. Food was ok but limited choice. Very tired interior. Will not be booking here again.
Pros: Hotel was near the venue that attended
Cons: My room didn't have view
Pros: The hotel itself, while dated, is well located near the trendy Zona 4 and is clean.
Cons: Front desk staff promised to arrange airport transport as we had an early flight, failed to do so, and were extremely unhelpful and rude. When we had no taxi to pick us up at 4am, the front desk attendant was rude and told me we were out of luck, even though he had failed to call and program our taxi. The hotel shuttle eventually arrived and took us to the airport, almost an hour and a half late. We luckily made our flight at the last minute, but leaving guests stranded at 4am after promising to arrange transportation is completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

Pros: Location, clean room, coffee available
Cons: No tv channels in English (if you have place program as we couldn't find), jacuzzi on the room is super cold, no bathtubs, no sleepers
Pros: Room and facilities, sufficient of eletrical plug points. Clean linen
Cons: Shower and bath combo bath was not consistent with the rest of the room in terms of comfort. I would prefer a larger more comfortable shower only, as opposed to the virtually impractical bath and shower combination.
Pros: Room was good and spacious. The location seemed safe.
Cons: The shuttle is no longer free and costs $10 per person!
Pros: Awesome location ... really friendly neighborhood. Comfort stay and nice beds
Pros: I like the lobby but that is not useful to a guest
Cons: The shower was very dirty I ask to change room, it seem they don’t care about the cleanliness. They changed me room but the put me in the 3rd floor where is near to meeting rooms and the entrance and exit of the waiters, very noisy. Very bad for a Radisson it seem they don’t keep a stardard. The staff was nice. The space in the room is good but should be clean. The beds no to much comfortable.
Pros: The location was excellent.
Cons: The Room was on a location with too much noise. The shampoo in the room had been filled with water. The cleaning service passed very early at 6 walking up the entire floor.
Cons: I made reservation through Kajak. When I got there they did not have it in the system. Fortunately I had the reservation in my iPhone. She kept telling me they did not have a reservation for me. When I asked if they had a room available she kept on answering they did not have a reservation. I had to be very assertive and told her to call her superior for if they had a room they should accommodate me and figure things out later with the booking information I gave them in plain email confirming. Now it is a good thing Spanish is my native language and I pursued this politely but forcefully. She did not want to give me a room when they had plenty available. Finally, she called her supervisor after setting me aside for a while and not attempting to solve the problem. I had valid passport, credit card and reservation in hand. When she finally called her boss, she told her to take care of me right away. Why the attitude and stubborness I do not know.
Pros: The Radisson is the perfect place to stay if you are catching a flight early the next morning. Check-in was fast and easy, the room was quiet, super clean, and the beds very comfortable. A shuttle picked us up at 5:15 AM the next morning, and we got to the airport in ten minutes. So convenient! We would definitely stay there again.
Pros: Location, staff, restaurant, breakfast.
The hotel is located in one of the most beautiful residential reas of Guatemala City,Just 1 miles from the International Airport La Aurora, and close to the Museum ofNational Antropology, Art Centers, the business district, shopping centers and restaurants.
Pros: A pleasant place to stay if you need to spend a night next to the airport
Pros: nice location near the airport, with free shuttle to the airport even at 6 am. clean, nice room, not brand new but good quality furnishings and bathroom
Cons: I was unable to watch the NFL playoff games on TV, no ESPN channel
Pros: Location close to airport. Quick stay.
Pros: Location, and free shuttle is the best value for your money, the breakfast buffet was excellent the room was nice and clean I will use this hotel again there was a pool but didn't use it.
Cons: IT was a little dated hallway carpets needed a good cleaning. I found out that they have a spa in the 2nd floor because i walked by but the room doesn't have information on the hotel amenities like room service spa and the casino in the first floor. The kind gentleman at the desk tried to help me pay with my American Express but the lady that didnt gave her face said no.
Pros: The staff was excellent and the hotel is perfectly located near the airport. We had a very nice stay and if we find ourselves in Guatemala City again we will come back.
Cons: There was nothing not to like!
Pros: The gym was good so as the steam sauna ( turkish hammam)
Cons: I felt I am in a dormitory not in a 5 stars hotel, its a joke to say its a 5 stars hotel, they gave us a room which has a door open to other guests, through which alot of noise was coming, the other guests noise was easily heard in our room which we were struggling to sleep, we informed the reception but nothing has changed. NEVER AGAIN!
Pros: Staff is really kind and humble. Really like them
Cons: Gym can be a bit more clean
Life is better when you get together at the Clarion Suites hotel in Guatemala City, GT in the heart of Zona Viva and just minutes from the La Aurora International Airport near Avenida La Reforma. Universities and hospitals are located a few minutes from the hotel, as well as Zone 10, which is a pedestrian zone that is currently the most important business district in the city. Hotel amenities include a bar, a restaurant, a massage area, WiFi, a gym, a mini market and a business center with additional amenities. Guest rooms come with sofa beds, mini bars and safes. Select rooms come with refrigerators and sitting areas.
Pros: Excellent bed and facilities
Pros: It was really clean and was really spacious.
Pros: Very helpful bilingual staff, great spacious room with plenty of storage and large windows, very quiet in general, with a lovely restaurant. As a foreign woman traveling alone I felt very safe.
Cons: I found nothing to be displeased with.
Pros: Every one was friendly
Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: Sound level from a party.
Pros: Excellent location near one of the best restaurants! We walked around to shop, eat, and listened to live music. The hotel staff had a shuttle pick us up and drop us off for $5 each. I thought it would be included, but it wasn’t. Hotel staff were lovely.
Cons: I didn’t enjoy dinner in the lobby. The options were very limited.
Pros: The suite was very spacious and attractive and it was nice having an area with couch TV and desk away from the bedroom. The bed was huge. It is an extremely good value for the money. The area around the hotel is very modern, clean and safe with several places to eat nearby. We walked around the immediate area without concern although going further than a couple of blocks in any direction was not recommended.
Cons: Only one minor issue: breakfast menu clearly stated coffee included with breakfast order. I ordered a fruit and yogurt option listed under breakfasts but was charged for the coffee (apparently the coffee only came with cooked breakfasts). However, the manager removed the charge without question when I complained.
Cons: The airport hotel was not functioning at 4:00am, when I needed to go tot he airport. I would have liked to know that it was not 24/7 and perhaps would have booked with another similar hotel that would provide me transport to the airport.
Pros: Safe and clean
Cons: It is extremely expensive compared to the rest of Guatemala. What rich people can afford in the country is simply sad, compared to the poor villagers and beggars or kids working on the street! Extreme inequality in real time display!
Pros: Very convenient to the airport.
Cons: Hotel airport shuttles only every hour.
Cons: The policy that only 2 guess per suite is ridiculous. The suites are big enough for a family of 4
Cons: I didnt like that the shuttle service wasn't complimentary.
The Best Western Plus Hotel Stofella is conveniently located just 15 minutes from La Aurora International Airport. It is in an exclusive business, financial and convention center, surrounded by the most exclusive shops, malls, variety of prestigious restaurants and nightclubs in the city. The hotel has 82 rooms of which six have no elevator service. Luggage assistance available 24 hours. Enjoy your stay. Eco-friendly.
Pros: The service is fantastic, the staff is really friendly and helpful But the best for me is the breakfast. You can enjoy a buffet abundant and really Guatemalan taste.
Cons: The only issue is the parking, they need to expand its existing parking lot.
Pros: Location fantastic , it is located in lively area. Many restaurants near by and can walk on the big road near by.
Cons: It is expensive . The room key was disfunctional. everytime to take hotel staff with master key to open the room. They could not rectify this during my entire 4 days stay.
Pros: Very kind people. The only place I like to stay when visiting Guatemala.
Pros: Proximity to the airport and restaurants.
Cons: Not enough easy access for charging devices for two people at the same time.
Pros: The hotel is at zone 10, a good, quiet and safe area for tourist.
Cons: I had the extra bed of a triple room. The bed sheet peels, and feels scratchy. When we booked an extra night, we had specified we don't need breakfast and they quoted the room rate without breakfast for our reference. However, the time when we checked out, they said there had been no records of our request, and insisted breakfast was part of the deal. Therefore, we were charged on the breakfast that we couldn't enjoy, as we were flying home that night.
Pros: Super nice staff, consistent good wifi, and extensive breakfast. The location of the hotel is very convenient.
Cons: The rooms look quite old. My room was on the ground floor, facing the common area, and it was quite noisy at times. No bar.

Pros: The pool was amazing, the staff was super helpful and friendly .
Pros: Location, Very helpful men greeting you, very safe.
Cons: I think all rooms should have a small microwave. People should get a discount after so many days staying at hotel.
Pros: Best Holiday Inn I have been to in years
Pros: Good breakfast.
Cons: The staff during the check in was not very friendly. The gentleman appeared moody, not very friendly overall.
Pros: Very comfortable beds. Excellent location and helpful staff. If I return to Guatemala City, I would definitely book here.
Pros: The location is amazing, and the breakfast is amazing as well. The room and the bathroom were very clean.
Cons: I planned to stay 4 nights but i had to pay for one more, the extra night the hotel gave me a restored room so much better than the first one for the 4 nights, i dont know if the hotel will restore all rooms or just some.
Pros: Hotel was clean and quiet.
Cons: Breakfast wasn't included with my reservation and it also wasn't worth the price. There's a way better and cheaper restaurant right next door.
Pros: The food was good, the problem was I was on business trip and the kitchen isn't 24 hours.
Cons: The hotel is in dire need of renovation.

Pros: My husband loves the Steam Bath there. This is why we chose this hotel again.
Cons: The staff could be better with restaurant and transportation recommendations. For example, we had heard about a highly rated restaurant and they didn't know about it. Also told us it would take 20 min to get there and when we wanted to go it was 40 min. We were told the taxi driver would speak English and he didn't plus he didn't know where the restaurant was located. In the end, we had to cancel our much anticipated reservation. Come to find out Wendy at the front desk had forgotten to cancel our reservation and the restaurant called us after we had gone to bed. On departure, we had a 6 am flight so we could not use the shuttle service which didn't begin until 4:10am. Again we were told there would be lots of taxis out front. There were none and we had to wait 10 min or so.
Pros: The lobby, and bathroom was beautiful.
Cons: I wasn't able to reach the front desk overnight.
Pros: Nice place. Close to the airpor.
Cons: My bed was terrible.
Pros: Location was good, and the gym was quite complete and clean.
Cons: Breakfast was not so good and service was no great either. They served coffee and there's no milk or cream; there's no where you can find the butter for your toast, they will bring just two after a long time when our toasts are finished. The juice seems water + sugar, no taste!! The room was so small, and many things were not offered. No slippers, no cotton sticks... provided. The worst was there's two tables with only ONE chair in the whole room, we were two adults with a child, we had to take turn to sit.
Pros: Staff, Ana at reception...
Cons: All was PERFECT...
Pros: Cleanliness and overall luxury and value.
Pros: Nice people
Cons: This was DEFINITELY the most I EVER overpaid for a hotel in my life and I travel around the world! The hotel needs a complete remodel. Even the elevators didn’t work! The furniture in the rooms is old and even the towels are old!
Pros: Very convenient. Close to the airport. Great shuttle service
Cons: Beds. Could be a little cleaner.
Pros: Polo and gym
Cons: Only one elevator Was working over 3 days.... Fotos variety at breakfast culd be better

Pros: Rooms, food and service
Pros: Hotel looked beautiful. Nice having a cafe and bar in the lobby. Staff was all VERY helpful and friendly.

Pros: Good breakfast, bright room, good location
Cons: There is no central heating. My roomp temperature dropped to 15c at night.

Cons: Room nothing espectacular for rate Charge for shuttle bus outrageous Bathroom space small
Pros: Everything was great - loved the decor, the breakfast and everything! Front desk staff was so nice !
Cons: Not much.
Pros: Great location and very new hotel. The service was exceptional. Highly recommend it for a trip to Guatemala. Very good restaurants around.
Pros: This place was absolutely amazing. The staff was very accommodating, the beds were comfortable, the facilities very clean, and the food was amazing!
Cons: Nothing, they did a wonderful job and I had a wonderful stay. Unfortunately due to COVID-19, I had to deal with everything being shut down, I didn’t get to experience the pool, the gym, or the breakfast buffet. This had nothing to do with the property itself, so I’d definitely stay here again in the future
Pros: The Buffet Breakfast was amazing...And there were many Vegan options which we appreciated!
Cons: The view is onto another matching office building
Pros: Art and cultural theme display
Cons: No concierge tourist information

Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available on request), and free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: They placed us on the 17th floor. This hotel hosts events and during night time they were moving furniture from the event held at the upper floor and the noise was incredible I even had to step out several times to ask them to stop and let us rest. For a 4 star hotel TERRIBLE! They only left one towel in the room for two guest. The a/c in the room was from another decade and also made noise. wont stay again.
Cons: Wanted to charge us for airport shuttle which had been advertised as free. Service charge not advertised added to bill. Noise from the airport, hallway & next other rooms
Pros: enjoyed my stay - very nice hotel in a quiet area of zona 14
Pros: Staff was very helpful, reactive and accommodating.
Cons: The first room I got was very small with a strange smell. I stayed on the 15th floor and the music from the rooftop bar on floor 19 was so loud my walls were vibrating. When I called the reception about it I was immediately given a new room and an upgrade, which made the stay in the end pleasant.
Pros: Great hotel with excellent facilities and staff - strongly recommend
Cons: Nothing - it was all great
Pros: The breakfast, SPA and sauna
Cons: They don’t do anything about the wedding night . ( I send a message before)
Cons: The room smell ugly. Smell like if there where a dead mouse, i told two different person at the front desk and they didn’t do anything, Just say thanks for letting them know and that they were gonna send somebody to check on it. Never did!!

Pros: Great value hotel at the Zona Viva
Cons: Loud music around hotel on weekends
Pros: Very good location, with restaurants at walking distance. It has a small gym, but good enough for a quick workout. The hotel rooms are clean ans spacious. I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Cons: I was overcharged for my stay. I booked 2 nights and the total cost €180. Breakfast was included in the price. I did have dinner/wine served in my room which needed to be added to my bill. There was some confusion re room cost when I was checking out but I had a flight to catch. Now I see a total of €412 is being billed to my credit card. How could a poor/basic veggie pasta dish and bottle of wine cost €232...!!??? I need this sorted as soon as possible please.
Pros: I really appreciated the fact that the front desk spoke English as our Spanish is not too good.
Cons: The staff was not welcoming at all. We asked a few questions and for directions and they kinda just shoved us off with response.
Pros: good hotel size so is comfortable good breakfast good bed good room service
Cons: Noisy AC unit Too expensive internet, no too fast, not too stable No charging stations No interactive TV

Pros: newish property 2006 and refurbished since then, excellent staff front desk and dining room. Enormous suite (all-suites property) an unbelievable value. Fairly safe neighborhood alongside other major hotels.
Cons: sideways button on toilet you have to press hard and hold a long time for a complete flush. Treadmill on its last legs. I'm going back there...not much really to dislike.
Pros: Balcony with outstanding view.
Cons: Old elevators.
Pros: Excellent reception staff, friendly and efficient. Tastefull food in the restaurant, breakfast simple but good. Location of this hotel is very good.
