Castillo Inn at the Beach

While Castillo Inn doesn't have any dining options within the building, it's within walking distance to several amazing restaurants. Guests can enjoy some amazing seafood dishes at The Waterfront Bar & Grill at the marina, or try out Endless Summer Bar & Cafe or Brophy Bros for something more casual.

Castillo Inn is just a short walk away from beautiful sandy beaches, Stearn's Wharf, and State Street, a strip of boutique shops. Additionally, there are many other things to do nearby, such as golf courses, the Museum of Natural History, The Maritime Museum, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and wine country tours.

Every room at Castillo Inn comes with 100% cotton oversized towels, Italian granite vanities, a refrigerator, flat screen TV, in-room coffee maker, desk, bedside table, and free high-speed internet. The rooms are elegantly decorated to match the Mediterranean architecture, with Italian Scabos tile floors and brand new carpet for improved soundproofing between rooms.

The low season is in February, while the high season is in October. Visitors can expect a respite for couples looking for a romantic getaway, close proximity to popular tourist attractions, and a secluded and intimate atmosphere.

Guests have praised the excellent customer service at Castillo Inn, with friendly and available staff. The front staff is described as friendly and helpful, and the housekeeping is exceptional. The staff from check-in to housekeeping were all friendly and courteous.

Consider booking a room with a patio for a more private outdoor space, as some guests found the private patio facing the street to be less secluded than expected.

If looking for a quieter experience, consider visiting in February, which is considered the low season, to avoid the crowds and potentially get better rates.

Some guests found the lack of certain amenities, such as a comforter on the bed or a variety of nearby restaurants, to be a minor inconvenience, so it's worth checking the room amenities beforehand.

Note that the check-out time is at 11:00 AM, which some guests found to be a bit early, so plan accordingly.

If sensitive to noise, consider requesting a room away from Castile Street, as some guests found the location of their room to be noisy.

Take advantage of the hotel's close proximity to the beach, making it convenient for beach activities and leisurely strolls.

Be aware that due to COVID, the hotel did not offer breakfast during some guests' stays, so it's advisable to plan for breakfast options in advance.

Consider upgrading to a suite with a full kitchen and two rooms if looking for additional space and amenities, although it may come at a higher cost.
