Thank you for the opportunity to respond. 1. The car agency was closed when we arrived in LA, without any instructions to go to ACE. 2. We had to locate another agency to obtain a vehicle and exit the airport. Terrible experience and to know that they are NOT even aware that the vehicle was never picked up. DO NOT CHARGE FOR A VEHICLE THAT WAS NEVER DELIVERED.

Was not able to pick up the car. Because we are local residents and did not have the required paperwork needed. Associate that helped us was rude and not helpful. He was also on his personal phone while he was with us. He said something and I didn’t understand so I asked him to repeat himself and he just pointed to his ear. The whole time he was giggling to whatever he was listening to. I’m so sorry I didn’t get his name because I would’ve included here

Drop off was understaffed. I was charged a late fee because it took 15 minutes for someone to get to me to review the car, and they submitted their report 10 minutes after my drop off time. This company also requires you to have full coverage, not just collision. I do not own a car and so had to pay an extra $30 a day to them for this coverage.

I am Brazilian and the guy didn’t explain everything alright! I had reserved a car by 150 dolls and my contract came by 320! He didn’t told me that!!! On the other hand, also came a 300 bill that wasn’t refunded yet! Can any one talk to me?

Under no circumstances should you consider renting through Kayak. They are completely useless, unhelpful, and provide no customer support whatsoever. They are unequivocally the worst option available.

Pros:

Tried to pick up the car early was told I had to wait hours until noon then was told at noon nothing was available and then they were going to downgrade the car so it would be cheaper I said I didn’t want the insurance they insisted and it was double the price. Return day also inchangable.

Pros:

The car was in good condition.

Cons:

The car was not ready on time. Also, when we returned the car, they tried to charge us for damage that must have been there when we rented the car but it was so miniscule that no one noticed it. The front bumper was misaligned by millimeters. We had to squat down and stare closely to even notice. Finally, over three weeks later, it seems they decided not to charge us because I received a final receipt that did not include a charge for the "damage". I know no one wants to admit that they damaged a rental car, but really--we didn't. What's more, I could have driven this car for years and never noticed.

Pickup and dropoff at the rental location was quick however we did have to wait 30± mins to get the van from the airport to take us to the off-site lot. I was given a Hyundai accent as an intermediate vehicle. I would normally consider this compact class but they insisted it was correct. I'm not sure who was right but it was smaller than I anticipated.

The process to check out the car took too much time. I was able to show them my prepurchased insurance through Kayak. No problems there. I change the reservation from the airport to the hotel. No problem there with increased charges. They meet you at the airport to pick you up with a sign. They used my What’s app app to contact me. Don’t disregard that. There is a person watching the app to respond. They upgraded us for the inconvenience. Person at the desk spoke English well. Nice new, maintained car. Streets in Chile are very good and cell tower will run quickly keep you informed on your maps apps. I would rent a car in Chile again.

Met at airport by a Hertz employee with a sign and brought to the offsite location via a third party shuttle. They had a problem with their system and weren't able to enter my Hertz Gold # so had to give all. All worked, great car, kind staff but between shuttle and info, took >45min to get on the road.

The place did not exist. There was no one to call, including Kayak rep. Could not even cancel. Ended up paying $100 for insurance of thin air. It was a scam, and so is Kayak.

The young woman who checked us in was so helpful and nice. A bit of translation difficulty but that's often the case of English speaking in Chile! When returning, we showed up as she was closing, she helped us as we had gone into the wrong parking garage...a truck blocked the view of the other entrance just beyond the one we needed. She and another employee, a young man, helped us with bags and getting back to the street...my fellow traveler is partly handicapped. They were so kind and spent a lot of extra time helping find a taxi and make sure we were safely on our way. Much appreciation to those two young people who were so kind.

Avoid. They are so off centered you need to travel 25km to the city. Had so much trouble to get picked up. Return was a nightmare. Avoid!!!!

Pickup and drop off were easy. At pickup, the agent said that they would email a copy of the contract. It never arrived. The car had some problems with starting. At one point, we thought we might be stranded miles from help with no cell service.

I reserved a car for an amount that was picking up in Puerto Montt and dropping off in Santiago. When arriving in Puerto Montt they told us there was a drop off fee of more than double the cost for the rental. This is not right - the customer should be made aware of the total cost when making a reservation online.

They charged me extra because they didn’t have the car I requested (needed automatic transmission) and would not price match - ended up paying a ridiculous amount for 3 days. Got a notification that there was an AirTag tracking us and found one right in the glove compartment. Overall not a good experience.

Staff friendly and helpful. Easy to find the car rental counter and car.

Cons:

The car had a lot of miles on it and had some mechanical problems. Rug pads had been oiled and we had to flip them over otherwise they were super slippery and it was difficult to drive.

They had no automatic economy size vehicles and tried to charge us more to get a larger automatic vehicle. We insisted that they give us what they have, as our reservation included an automatic and we cannot drive manual. They made us wait an hour and fight with them before giving us an automatic Ford Explorer. If a rental agency does not have what is promised it is on them to fix it NOT at the customer's expensive, both time and money. Very frustrating.

Cons:

That when I picked up the car, it had a lot of imprerfections. If I haven't told the Rep, I would have taken the car like that and would have been responsible for those imperfections (dents).

Cons:

Significant extra price for obligatory insurance. Got car with a bit leftover of gas, and was told that can return with any amount in tge tank, but on return was demanded to fill up to a quater of rank (a lot of quarrel for $10 worth of fuel, very frustrating). Still waiting the estimate for the flat ture (small puncture in the airport)

Pros:

I'm not sure how much it cost me in telephone roaming charges. I have to see on my phone bill when it arrives, But I was called twice during the rental to first, provide my credit card a second time and second, on the fourth day of the rental, I was asked to trade out that vehicle for another one. This isn't easy in the US and in Chile, when I don't have telephone connections and the language, it makes it very complicated. I still am mystified why my vacation stopped and had to focus on Avis emergencies.

Car was not ready at reserved time. Told to wait 1 hour. It was nearly 2 hours later when a car was available. It was old and poor condition auto. Several days later the battery died and the car could not start. Overall a terrible rental car experience.

This was a scam. Deceptive marketing with hidden fees and predatory practices on the consumer. I canceled reservation onsite , didn’t take the car and will never use them or affiliate rental companies. I will never recommend them.

Online your able to pay with an American Express Card. When you get there after a long flight and a a long drive from Mimai Airport to get there....they tell you we do not accept American Express cards. Mr and two other customers went through the same thing...there was a lot of upset people in the same boat...yelling, arguing. I will never use them again! Stop accepting American Express online for carwiz!
