location the beds
Convenience to Old Town Seville, staff helpful with dinner reservations as wall as excursions and directions, modern, quiet, comfortable, sophisticated room
Bar area not very inviting.
I like the wifi signal in the room was great, great decoration and furniture, comfortable bed, good location. The lighting in the room was too dark, heard some noise at nighttime.
Proximity to the old city and restaurants. Hotel staff all spoke english and were very welcoming and always ready to please. Hotel is new and very clean. Breakfast Buffet: Only one person working at the buffet, and the hotel was very slow to replenish. TV: Hotel lacked the ability to choose langauge of channels (such as in Barcelona and Cordoba)
location smaky non smoking room, poor internet
This was a great location for the Cathedral and Alcazabra. Hard to find Hotel. Recommend a taxi. About 10 steps to reach reception, but then there was an elevator to the rooms.
The location, the staff were really helpful, the room was exactly as shown in photo, really warm and quiet at most times. during our last night there, the hotel maid was tidying the room upstairs making too much noise(at around 3:00)
I was able to change my room without fuss. The staff were always ready to help. The room was spacious (S14) the bathroom was spacious, it is near the lift. No problem getting extra pillows. View of square. Opening doors onto small balconies x 2. Minibar fridge (useful) Daily change of towels. Flat screen TV. Positioned very conveniently for walking to all landmarks. Half price through booking.com. Hotel parking very convenient. The position of this hotel outweighs any of the following dislikes and the fact that it has parking garage. All renovations seem to be completed AC was either on or off it must be centrally regulated and was very hot, no bath robes/complimentary water (as advertised on other site) pool was closed. Could hear chairs being moved and people walking about as floors are all tiled and no rugs. Could be noisy early morning with the dust cart collection especially as had to have windows open because the room was too hot. Had noise of AC from other room, like an engine running all the time. Parking at hotel is expensive. Hotel difficult to find by car, we had to pay to follow a taxi! NO tea and coffee making facilities. Not enough portable tourist information ie maps leaflets etc. Hotel didn't answer emails.
Hotel is centrally located and within short walking distance of all major attractions The cost of the hotel parking was a bit excessive
Location. , staff, pool Air conditioning. Very. Minimal. Needs updating.
the location is great but everything else was tired and old-fashioned. walls were very thin - perhaps you can't do much with old palazzi
very friendly staff and very good location all ok
position of hotel We requested balconies at time of booking . Told non available only on arrival . First bedroom stank of sewerage so changed room . Second room had 2 singles instead of double and was on street level with bars at the window . The air-con did not work and nor did the mini bar so I had to have the window open all night which was very noisy and smelly as dogs were soiling the street . The next morning we changed room for the second time and it was just about satisfactory even though we still had 2 singles , no balcony and no view .
The location is excellent for visiting the Cathedral and Alcazar. The staff is very helpful . The hotel itself is very attractive and the rooms are quite spacious.
Location was ideal, bur difficult to find. Hotel room was dirty. Restaurant although pretty was smelly and breakfast was so bad we walked out. Service, or acknowledgement of our presence in the reastaurant was non existent. Valet parking put dents in our car which luckily we were not charged for.
Location location location. Right next to the cathedral and tower. All the sites are extremely walkable. No parking, do not use your navigation to get there because you will get your car stuck. The police basically helped me get my car out and used walking path ways to get out of there and into a public parking lot. A/C was horrible, and when we went downstairs to the front desk they told us they will check it and when we came back they said it's normal. The room was way too hot for normal
Situation; Very Helpful staff at desk; reasonably quiet ;International news papers in lounge; No ;
The location is perfect and not noisy despite being in the centre. I appreciated the free internet and daily newspapers available for guets in the reception area. In-room safes require keys from reception. I would like to see these replaced with the more modern electronic safes that are now widely used by hotels.
Loved the roof top pool, also the location was second to none
The hotel is in an excellent location being very close to the cathedral & other attractions. The staff were efficient but not at all friendly.
Excellent location!! Nothing.
Location, helpful and friendly staff Si..no hay bar! But, in summer I expect that the open bar on the roof is beautiful (wonderful view)
Really good, clean hotel with helpful staff
Good central location, good facilities.
Location of the hotel
Beautiful building, very close to the main sights in Sevilla. Our room was a bit too warm.
The hotel is in a good location. The cost of breakfast is too expensive. Also, they shouldn't charge for the use of the internet.
Very nice hotel, central location, our room was located on the top floor with a spectacular view on the cathedral.
There was not one thing that was better than the whole stay. They did give us a room with a large terrace for the dog which was just great, overlooking the city of Seville.
breakfast was very nice finding your way around in the hotel
very convenient for shopping sightseeing and restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful, valet parking a bonus. Room only adequate
Great location, fascinating grounds, helpful staff.
very comfortable and clean
We liked very much the spirit of this hotel - you get a much better feeling of the traditional Sevillan residences than staying in a standard hotel with rooms in row in a corridor. In this hotel even finding your room on your own after the staff has once shown the way is a pleasant exercise - you pass different patios with fountains, climb stairs and follow winding pathways. The room we had was beautifully furnished and the bath very comfortable. Our dinner in the hotel restaurant was less spectacular. The restaurant is beautiful, but the food was not to the standard one would expect.
It is a very charming hotel in the middle of Sevilla, most friendly staff, clean. More like a 5-star hotel. The loudliness, in our room you heard all the noises from other bathrooms, outside work etc.
Great location, rooms very clean, friendly and helpful staff. No soap in the bathroom (that we could find anyway!)
An amazing collection of buildings grouped together to form the hotel, just finding your way to and from reception to your room was an adventure! Wandering through the little courtyards and passages was fun. The rooms were comfortable with lovely bathrooms and showers. We did not have rooms in the Patio de San Clemente as the booking said, but by the time we realised we felt it was too late to complain or to ask to move. If we had been staying more than two nights we might have done so. We felt they should offer a map of the hotel and Seville without having to be asked to do so. If they had we would have realised the mistake earlier.
Lovely ambience (common areas and bedroom), excellent location, helpful staff. Spacious bedroom and good views. Nice bathroom but tight in some areas. Good choice of breakfast, but quality of some items left a bit to be desired.
The collection of buildings is beautiful and charming and the staff was very helpful after our initial problem with getting us into a nicer room. Well situated in the city. Much more impressive inside than you would expect. Our first room had mildew in the closet. I was bummed because we lost the spa tub, but they upgraded us to a suite as soon as we pointed out the issue.
Decor and architecture Friendly staff Breakfast quality Small room Somewhat difficult to navigate
An atmospheric hotel made up of four old interlinked houses. The restaurant in the basement could be entered through a warren of tunnels.
we had a four poster, so the room was spacious for two people "cute" layout of premises -- tunnels linking the various villas and many courtyards...very different from other hotels; beautiful courtyards not enough lighting in the room; it was a bit too dark the bathroom smells (smells like methane) the airconditioner (for heat) did not work properly the safe deposit box did not function properly
Convenient location, friendly and helpful staff
Central location & helpfulness of staff
Beautiful lobby area and enclosed courtyard gave it a very authentic regional feel - the bathroom was fabulous too. The room was a little hot because of the heating in the lobby I think - we had to use the AC to cool it even though the overnight temperature was 5 deg C.
Lobby looks great! It is very, very difficult to reach this hotel by car!
The hotel is very well located in the city centre for the shops, bars and resturants and to visit the city's tourist sights. I did not particularly feel that the hotel was good value for money.
Location in walking distance for most tourist spots. Only a couple of rooms are usable in respect to the 3 stars.Other rooms in the annex and even in the patio have no or small windows open on a ventilation shaft with horrible claustrophobia filing .Incredible noise from the street every morning ( 6 to 10 am ) due to a horrible noisy collecting device ,it was the worst ever supported in our live .
Excellant central location for seeing Seville. Rooms on the small size but clean and very comfortable.
the place and the interior of the hotel my room. there was no window and the worst is that there was a terrible mouldy smell and unfortunately that smell is now on my clothes
Very central location, friendly and helpful staff. Instructions to get there very good.
The hotel is incredibly central, the hotel was very clean and - other than some confusion with the name the booking was under - very efficient. I didn't like that my room had only a window overlooking the central lobby & therefore I had to use the air conditioning (which I dislike) - it would have been good to know this in advance. It would also have been useful to know in advance that the parking for the hotel is on a pedestrian walkway - this was very confusing!!
Looked forward to going back after a full day and night in Seville to relax in the comfortable room and bathroom and to having a good night's sleep in the comfortable bed. View from the room.
The location of the hotel was fantastic - very central but on a quiet side street. The family room with the bunk beds was a big hit with the children. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. I expected some level of room service at a 4-star hotel, but there was none.
It has an excellent location near the cathedral and close to most activities and sightseeing. internet and a lap top were available in the room FOC. Staff were helpful and talk a very good English. We had a reservation for a triple room which turned to be same as the Family room (equipped with one twin bed and two deck beds). the deck bed was not that comfortable for an adult.
Professional, friendly service of staff. No tea/coffee making facilities.
The location is excellent for exploring the town centre. I liked the decor of the hotel and our room was very comfortable, not big, but it certainly was big enough for our one night stay. The power shower and a comfortable bed was a big bonus after a night in the town. The hotel description should mention that the parking is very tight and with height restrictions. Otherwise it was very convenient to be able to park at the hotel.
modern rooms, location
A computer for our personal use in our room.
The location and the laptop with wifi in the bedrooms. Bathroom and shower were of a high standard. I felt that we were staying at a hotel below the 4 star level which we were expecting. The room was quite small although adequate and the bed was uncomfortable. We were looking for a superior hotel and were provided with a hotel with basic facilities.
My stay at this hotel was very pleasant. Really enjoyed every minute of my stay. Very central and very clean. Staff was really nice and helpful. A total service with a smile. I think this would be my hotel for my future visits to Seville.
The standard of service, location and general facilities were fantastic Sometimes they did not do an evening bed turn down
they didn't charge me for the internet
The Alfonso X111 is in a fantastic location right in the real heart of Seville. Other than the high cost, the Hotel was faultless, quiet, comfortable, good service etc. The decoration and history make it unique. The high cost per night means for a special occasion its fantastic but for seeing Seville there are better value hotels avaliable. Money no object - stay at the Alfonso X111
swimming pool in centre of city, beautiful setting, very friendly and helpful staff
excellent breakfast. Very efficient staff. very good location bath took about 20 minutes to run
Good location and very nice old hotel. The man in the reception wondered if I can bring may bags to the room by my self. No problem, but for a 5 stars hotel this is not a question.
Loved the location and the rooms as well as the overall ambience of the hotel. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Internet service in the room did not work
excellent service, beautifull hotel everything was perfect! very diffficult to find when you drive into Sevilla as there is a one way system, and very poor indications!
The ambience of the hotel overall and the quality of the staff. Road noise in the room and slightly ineffective aircon.
Hotel Alponso XIII is an amazing Hotel, very nice staf, excelent location in the center of sevilla. The room in which i stayd (grand deluxe) is great, very spacious en luxury. To pay euro 50,- for a simple breakfast is a bid much for what you get.
Front desk personnel were very helpful--made reservations for hotels in our next city, dinners, etc. Shower in our room was small.
Location but it's also like a treasure hunt looking for it. Can't find it from normal maps. Hint: get a Barrio Santa Cruz map from tourist information near the cathedral to find it
The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. I liked the traditional decor of the hotel and the central location in the Santa Cruz area of the city was superb. The only think I would say is that we found the hotel extremely difficult to find the first time. I think it would be a good idea to issue a detailed map at the time of booking
Perhaps the only thing was the very loud conversations of the staff in the kitchen (many of these sounded like arguments) while having breakfast. Otherwise, everything was fine. The bathroom was better than what you get at a four star hotel!
Efficiency, cleanliness, value, friendliness, location.
the location was great , room was a fine size with an extra bed that wasn't necessary and we had a quite room but no view
Located in Santa Cruz ,value for money, helpful staff room beside lift, heard all early departures/late arrivals
The staff really bent over backwards to help us out, arranging for flamenco tickets, and our next hotel stay in Granada. They really made a difference and stood out among all the hotels we encounted during our visit to Spain. The location was perfect, as we walked around most of the city. Nothing Major, but kleenex and a clock in the room would have been nice.
very comfortable, helpful and courteous staff, beautifully quiet location and yet close to the "sights".Excellent breakfast, guests conducted themselves considerately in the hotel. Hope to stay again.
Location was very good in barrio Santa Cruz and it is approximately ten minutes by foot to the cathedral ('giralda'); plenty of eateries and tapas bars in the area; free computer and WiFi access in the lobby; breakfast was respectable but nothing too exciting. We stayed on the first (ground) floor, and if the door between the lobby and the corridor was not closed, the noise emanating from the lobby could be quite loud; although the hotel staff had train schedules, the staff provided conflicting if not poor information (best to do your own research on trains and buses (to Cordoba, for example) as we also got bad information from the nearby bus station and a taxi driver); ONLY Spanish-language TV (no English, French, or German TV channels).
very beauty 4 star hotel and a pool on the roof with view of the cathedral that worth the price they try to ask me some think of the mini bar that I didn't drink
large comfortable room quiet surroundings pool over priced breakfast
Swimming pool and location. Would recommend for these reasons only asked for double bed, not provided, few towels, when used not replaced, furniture and fittings not of four star quality, dinner menu but restaurant seemed close during my stay
the night manager Manuel was very helpful with orientation of Seville, the hotel personnel was proper nothing
Location of hotel. Perfect fro sightseeing. Excellent air conditioning in room. Lovely roof terrace with pool No view from room
The hotel was situated in a really convenient location steps from the main tourist area of town. The front desk was very helpful giving directions, suggesting places to eat, and even booked train tickets for us for a day trip to Córdoba. Breakfast was okay - a decent selection of things but a lot of it seemed a little less than fresh. It didn't help that none of it was kept refrigerated or on ice and it was hot out. The hotel air conditioning leaves much to be desired. We switched rooms because the first room was so hot and would not cool down. The second room was still way to hot to be comfortable. Our stay was during a heatwave in September that brought daytime temps to about 110 degrees. The air conditioner cut a little bit of the heat but it was still about 90 in our room during the day and 80s at night. It was too hot to sleep comfortably. This is the only hotel we had during our two week stay throughout Spain that had such poor air conditioning. The front desk apologized and said sorry, its an old building but that's a poor excuse. we stayed in other very old hotels that had great AC during our trip. Some other small annoyances like slightly outdated rooms, furniture kind of beat up, rooftop pool area dirty, stains on linens... All of that would have probably been forgiven if we stayed during November, but if you are planning to visit during a warmer month, I would not recommend this hotel. We were so uncomfortable in the stifling heat.
location, nice friendly staff a wedding party by the pool terrace which was directly above our room, noise until 3.00 am
the cleanliness of the hotel and the location is great. could'nt be any more central than that, very close to all amenities. we found breakfast very poor especially for the price we paid. also that some nights were very noisy (till 4 o'clock in the morning) due to private functions.
Location was perfect, just in the old town part. Nice pool and restaurant on the roof with a magnificient view on the Cathedral. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel as it was way too expensive. Rooms a bit too hot and the air conditioning was too loud to leave it on for the night.
ideal location for sightseeing seville on foot in centre of old town.rooftop pool a bonus in 30+temperatures
the view from the hotel's roof. the swimming pool was nice.
Location fantastic - we paid extra for superior rooms with views which was worth while. Rooftop area with pool and view was great. Breakfast very good Service was sometimes very slow. It took nearly two hours for the staff to retrieve our car one morning which was incredibly frustrating as we had planned a trip out of Seville. Bar service was also slow and often the orders were forgotten completely
Excellent location and trendy hotel. Perfect both on convenience, and services. Nice terrazzo bar
location is great, great roof terrace the room with the shower and the toilet inside smelled a lot. no flexibility from hotel staff to change rooms. highlight was that I need to depart 2 days earlier than planned and they refused to pay back the money...although I had to stay in a room with less comfort and that smell. very unpleasant manager too. poor poor behaviour!
An exceptional hotel: staff, rooms, pool, location, bar. Everything. You can't go wrong with this place.
very central, lovely hotel, staff a little too formal on arrival - but that is a bit petty because they were lovely.
design, facilities smell
Hotel valet vaused significant damage to car while parking it and did not tell us
the hotel design
location was excellent right beside everything so need for taxis. Views from roof terrace spectacular. Rooms very small and lacking wardrobe space. Bit of a smell of drains in rooms too. Drinks very expensive in hotel bars. Breakfast nice but repetitive.
best location possible wiew on internal patio
I liked the location because it was right where the action was. It was old but it was not nicely renovated. The rooms especially the floors appeared untidy and unclean, the old pipes were showing. . Overall, the atmosphere gave me an icky feeling. The walls were very thin, you could here shouting outside till the wee hours of the morning and you can here the very minute noise from the other guests inside the hotel. The bed was very uncomfortable andthe pillows were a joke, very thin overused and flat.
Size of rooom, internet access
close to the interest places and yet not crowded. I only stay one night so did not see all them yet.
the bed is really small . the rooms corridors are dark (and a big accident occured in the room next to my. the shower and the bath are very nice .
Decoration & layout Small details: the TV-antenna plug had the cover missing, for instance
The location is excellent for walking everywhere. The room is quite spacious as is the bathroom. Laptops in every room and in the business area are useful if you're that way inclined. Very modern and design hotel it lacks any Sevillian charm. For a hotel which claims to be high tech the shower didn't work porperly, the curtains in the room were off the hooks and our street view room was quite noisy.
location, nice rooms we asked for two separate beds and were given a double bed. the breakfast was very expensive
Breakfast excellent, location good Not enough storage place, if you stay more than one night! There was a lot of street noise (carbage remova?) in the night between Sunday and Monday.
the central location. The design of the room. The wall and door to the bath room is of glass thus leeting out all light in to the room and also the sounds. Further the hotel has no parking, and to find parking in Seville is very problematic.
Excellent rate and room quality The person that checked me in was rude but the other people behind the desk were very helpful and pleasant; also the wireless and hard connection to the internet was not working
Beautiful rooms, very clean, all amenities. Great location. The rooms get very hot on sunny days, even in early March -- staff told us the air conditioning does not work. If windows are left open you can not sleep as it is very noisy outside almost all night long. Do not stay here until the AC is repaired. Breakfast buffet is very mediocre, not worth the money.
On arrival the staff were very helpful and courteous. The Rooms were Decorated to a High Standard and the location was close to all the noise but also far enough away.It was a shame there was no wiof it would have been nice to have wifi computer access
Excellent location, attentive staff Breakfast was too pricy!
The hotel is in an excellent location in Seville and the staff were invariably friendly and helpful. It is, indeed, very good value. Really, there is nothing one can criticise. In fact, when I go back to Seville, I will certainly stay in Hotel Inglaterra.
Location The shower flooded the bathroom and made the floor dangerous. Other guests had same problem.
Perfect stay and perfect staff. I will come back for sure! I liked everything.
Facilities, central location mattress too hard
Spledid. We were particularly pleased the hotel accepted our small Jack Russell dog which was actually the reason we selected it in the first place
Excellent accomodations & friendly staff; charming courtyards.
Beautiful location Restaurant did not offer any vegeterian choices and was very privey
it was lovely the staff were great from the minute we got there untill we got in the taxi to go home.
- staff not able to help, the one person at the front was always overwhelmed by phone calls, directing other staff, and dealing with lines of guests in front of him/her. - I've stayed at many hotels in Europe, this one is way over priced for what you get - more in line with a three star hotel
Very nice hotel. We enjoyed the beautiful architecture, the patios, the cleanlilness of the place, and the very large bathtub. It can be a bit noisy.
Front desk was helpful whenever we had questions, although the staff changed frequently. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Loved the bathroom, and the common spaces. It was well located for the Cathedral and Real Alcazar. Liked the pool as well. Advice we were given about restaurants was variable: one night the recommendation was not good, and the next night it was very good. Also, the lighting in our bedroom - not the bathroom which had recently been renovated and was excellent - was quite dim, almost too dim to read by. You shouldn't have to go down to the common spaces to get bright enough light to read by.I found this quite annoying. Also, the smoke from those who were smoking in the courtyard wafted up the air shaft, and it was the first thing that hit you when you stepped out of your bedroom.
It was very charming and quaint - it felt like a residence. The hotel raised their prices considerably during the fiesta and I did not think it was worth the price. Some of the rooms were very small and it was hard to get a taxi to go anywhere. It was also very difficult to find making it hard to walk to and from.
Excellent facilities and helpfull staff. A roof top pool in a city with 40 degrees in August is a wonderfull extra! The number of pool side beds. For a hotel with a capacity of 41 rooms some 6 pool side beds seems not a lot.
central yet tucked away and quiet though with atmosphere no
Relaxed atmosphere and quiet Way overpriced for the facilities. We also always had meals outside because they were way too expensive too
This hotel has so much character and our room was spacious and lovely, including the bathroom The room definitely needs more lighting, especially task lighting, such as bedside reading lamps. We switched the desk lamp to the bedroom lamp to help with this. We only had 2 windows for natural lighting, so that made the need for interior lighting that much more important
Great location in the heart of the old town, near all the main tourist attractions. Local shops (50m) include convenience store, bakery, restaurants (good menus del dia), and courtyard with live flamenco. Good price for August (off peak). Fantastic roof terrace (the clue is in the name), with views of the Cathedral tower (Giralda). Air conditioning is essential. Roof terrace needs some shade for the heat of the day. Room would benefit from fridge or at least ice bucket to keep drinks cool. We bought a bucket for 1euro and some ice at a local convenience store.
Location, friendliness of staff
Lovely roof terrace . Very helpful staff. Roomsmall no window
The rooftop patio was perfect for afternoon bottle of wine and conversation.
Excellent location, comfortable and clean. Great roof terrace. All the rooms have a single small window onto the internal atrium - rather claustophobic and being on the ground floor I was constantly woken during the night by returning, often very noisy, guests.
I d like to be in the room on the top floor on the terrace. I d like that was a small hotel in the pedestrian street of Santa Cruz and more generally the location. The staff was very nice the promiscuity with our neighbor, cause of the communicating door between the 2 rooms.Hopefully they was quiet but we ad to whisper at night to respect their sleep.
An ideal location within the old city, but quiet at night. Very nice room (Superior ). Roof top terrace for sunshine and fresh air. I would not recommend standard rooms as only have small window looking into hotel interior.
The location. It was very close to many historical sites. One of the rooms we booked had a ´sewer´type smell.
The room was cleaned and furniture pretty new. The location is execellente for city trip. - The ikea style of the furniture makes the room a bit anonimous. a bit more Sevillan style would make the hotel much nicer. - no breakfast service
Saweville Breakfast was a bit hit and miss
Spanish Atmosphere Friendly Staff Family Room
helpful staff , use of computer, peace and quiet! nothing
it's impossible to stop the car near the hotel to unload luggage and you have to walk with heavy things far from parking. difficult to notice from the street. difficult to find.
Of all the places I stayed throughout Spain and Portugal, this hotel far exceeded the others in respects of serenity, comfort and value for money. An excellent choice to make if considering a hotel in Seville.
Excellent location Breakfast was unimaginative
staff very helpful, very authentic room very small and noisy
Very friendly and helpful staff. Moorish atmosphere of the hotel Entrance to hotel is on a very narrow street with a very narrow sidewalk - can be a little hazardous - especially if dragging a suitcase!
This was our second stay at the Hotel Abanico and if we visit Seville once more,we will stay there again.
