Pros: Location, staff, large room, very clean
Cons: Next to a Truck Stop so it was noisy
Pros: Very clean , quiet and great location.
Cons: junk charges for the safe still don't know if they removed the extra charge for something i did not want or useJ
Pros: Pet friendly; staff very friendly; room easily accessible
Cons: Breakfast was a little lame.

Pros: Staff very friendly!!! Excellent location!!!
Pros: It was a good stay. Very comfortable and clean.
Cons: The signs made it confusing wasn't sure if it was the right place or not.
Cons: We've been there before & didn't have noise concerns. This time the road noise was difficult to drown out at night....not sure but might have been cuz the bed was closer to the window than the previous time....a different room set up I guess.
Cons: Beds were small and the bathroom vent fan was so loud that you could not be in there with it running. It automatically came on with light. Took showers with flash light from phone. The lady at the front desk said she was going to take care of it and was very sorry.
Pros: The room was comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was good. Check OUT clerk was very friendly.
Cons: The check in clerk was just short of rude. Very curt in her interaction. Additionally, the breakfast food in the crockpot was ice cold. Everyone had to microwave the eggs and sausages. The pool was out of service, which was a disappointment.
Pros: Clean comfortable room, quiet.
Cons: No sign for hotel, one side had no sign, other side was former name (Settle Inn). Only INSIDE was name Baymont used. Room had double bedside light, did not work- plug had been removed.
Pros: Very comfortable
Pros: The room was clean and it was next to the pool which was nice.
Cons: The breakfast wasn't very good. The eggs were cold squares and the sausage was a weird texture. The lady making breakfast was telling people that there would be more sausage out soon she was microwaving more! I'm sure this is how sausage is made for hotel breakfasts but maybe it didn't need to be announced. Hard to find and Baymont sign wasn't up
With a stay at Capri Motel Avoca in Avoca, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Avoca CountryView Golf Course and Farmall-Land USA Tractor Museum. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Room was adequately furnished. Bathroom was ok. It was a good bargain for $40/night.
Pros: Quiet. Not expensive for a one night stop
Pros: Excellent value. It's no Ritz but I was extremely satisfied. You can tell the staff takes it seriously.
Pros: Friendly staff, clean, coffee maker in room, nice tv, WiFi, comfortable bed, great location right off highway surrounded by nice houses, very green landscape in the summer.
Cons: Nothing, everything was good.
Pros: The desk clerk was courteous and that is all
Cons: Being “pet friendly “ does not mean you reserve 1 room and keep it filthy for anyone traveling with a pet. Put in flooring instead of carpet if you are never going to clean it. The room smelled like a urinal. The towels were stained and heavily worn. The bedding was from the 80’s. Found a huge spider in the bathroom along with its large web. Got there too late at night to leave.
Pros: I was very comfortable. I would definitely book this motel again.
Pros: It is super clean and the staff is very friendly. The room had a comfortable bed and it was quiet. Quality television with good reception. Plenty of hot water and water pressure.
Cons: This is an older hotel and was a little worn in appearance.
Pros: The staff was friendly and went out of their way to help me. The room was large and clean. Plus there was a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and a blow dryer! You don’t find that in most motels and it sure makes your visit nicer. I will stay there again!
Pros: Has seen better days but adequate for overnight stay at the price.
Pros: It was a low price but a very high quality. The owner was very friendly, the room was clean, and the room was great. I highly recommend it.
Cons: I liked everything about the place.
Pros: Easy check in, Very friendly motel owners, Room was clean and had a microwave, Plenty of toiletries and towels, Did not smell bad even being a smoking room, Super quiet and Casey's located right next door.
Cons: Wish it would of had a mini fridge, could have called for one I'm sure but being such late check in didn't want to bother them again
Pros: Clean, comfortable, close to my son's, economical.
Cons: No complaints.
Motel 6 Avoca Iowa is located off Interstate 80 near Avoca Golf Club, Myrtue Memorial Hospital and Shelby County Speedway. Our guests can enjoy our coin laundry facility and free Wi-Fi in all modern guest rooms.
Pros: no breakfast offered
Pros: Friendly front desk person. Rooms very clean.
Cons: Pool under maintain. Maybe mention that during check in.
Pros: I liked the location right off the inter state. Very convenient
Cons: I reserved two rooms months ago, non smoking. When we arrived at 9:25 pm after a 10 hour drive, I was told at check-in that my two SMOKING rooms were ready. What?! I reserved two non smoking rooms. The clerk told me the hotel was full and I had the last two rooms. I asked him if he ran my credit card and he said yes. I let him know that I stayed there the same week in 2018 and the service was excellent. Not this time. I will not be back during my annual trip out west.
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and property was very clean
Cons: The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Didn’t have coffee machine in the room. Had to ask for hair dryer and kleenexes at the front desk.
Pros: Property was very clean, staff was friendly and answered my questions and addressed all our requests. Only drawback was our room was rather small.
Cons: Bed was a little firmer than I prefer.
Pros: The room was quiet and cool. Much appreciated after a hot drive.
Cons: The pool was still under construction, which was a little disappointing.
Pros: The convenient location was just off the Interstate. The landscaping was lovely and the motel is surrounded by well groomed acreage. My room was basic and extremely clean - great value! I stayed there over July 4 with my dogs to escape my city's extreme fireworks and we were thrilled that the location meant it was quiet and peaceful, within an easy drive of some beautiful small towns and many parks and wildlife areas. With stormy weather in the 90F range, the room a/c worked great on the heat and humidity. There was a large bathtub, plenty of hot water, and lots of shower water pressure. The staff was very friendly. The pool was closed for renovation (we wouldn't have used it anyway). Good selection of vending machine snacks and pop/water. Subway restaurant was next door and Flying J truck stop and restaurant was a walkable distance across the highway. This isn't a really fancy place with lots of extras that most people won't use anyway. It is quiet and provides a good night's sleep at a very reasonable price. For me, the best part is that they accepted dogs.
Cons: It would be nice if there was a microwave available for guest use in the common area. The rooms are basic and do not include refrigerators, coffee makers (free coffee in the lobby, however), or microwaves.
Pros: The owner was very friendly & accommodating. The room was clean. Nice to have an elevator to the 2nd floor.
Cons: Beds are hard, a mattress on a wood base. Cheap decor. No carpet in the room. No refrigerator, no microwave, no coffeemaker, no breakfast. 2 bars of soap provided but no other toiletries. If you want shampoo, kleenex, hairdryer or ironing board, you have to ask for them at the front desk. The owner said a microwave was provided in their break room for guest use, which was absolutely filthy. The view out the window was a wall of the building. I booked this room quickly without researching reviews as I always do. Hard lesson, but learned.
Pros: The price and cleanliness.
Cons: The bed was not comfortable.
Pros: Clean room
Cons: I booked two adjoining rooms at this motel with a pool. When I arrived pool had just been filled in and under construction. I was told by front desk I could use public pool in town. I was also told by front desk adjoining rooms wouldn't be a problem , then she gave us rooms across from each other . I arrived first and then daughters family 3 hours later so I had no clue that they wasnt next to me until she arrived . I asked the front desk why and she replied well she is across from you and the adjoining room next to me had been booked out . No smoking room 100.00 fine and there was a cigarette burn in bedspread. To late to leave and everyone was to tired from our travels . We have done this trip multiple times it's our half way mark to get our grandkids and look forward to the visit while kids swim.

Cons: It had fire damage and bugs
Pros: Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was better than most...especially for the price.
Pros: The man at check-in was very pleasant and helpful. The room was larger than I expected and it and the bathroom were very clean.
Cons: Upon arrival we discovered that one of the buildings had suffered a serious fire, so the pool was closed. It was a bit disconcerting to image what it would have been like to have been a guest during the event. Also, it turns out that the town of Walnut has very few dining options. We had little choice but to eat at a very limited little diner nearby. (The service was pleasant there, but the food was nothing sopecial.)
Pros: Excellent location off the freeway, comfortable bed and easy check in.
Cons: Bathroom needed paint and repair. There were holes in the wall, etc.
Pros: It was easy to get to.
Cons: There was no elevator and I had to carry a 50 lb suitcase up a flight of stairs. The air conditioner made the room very damp. The sink stopper was broken.
Pros: Good coffee. Comfortable beds.
Pros: The Hotel was clean, very friendly staff.
Cons: Had stayed at this hotel three years ago based on a pool, location . We booked a room again last week, and the area with the pool had a fire ( a year ago) and shut down. Very disappointed grandson. I believe that this qualifies for false advertising.
Pros: The room was the hugest I ever stayed in. With 2 little kids and it was comfortable
Pros: It was very clean and large! The biscuits and gravy was very good also.
Pros: Mattress was comfy. Good diner next door.
Cons: Thin walls and doors allow you to hear everything. Very dated bathroom with exposed plumbing and towel rack falling off wall. Old and dented fridge in room. Very limited breakfast offerings. Pool unusable due to fire in neighboring building.
Pros: location good only about 12 miles from our destination - I am diabetic so the breakfast did not have much I could eat but when I read that it was a continental breakfast I did not expect too much . rooms ok for a very hot very humid weekend.
Cons: again the breakfast was not too good for anyone on a special diet (like diabetic) air conditioning didn't keep up very well but it was an extremely humid and hot weekend!
Pros: Convenient location!
Cons: There were spiders, cockroaches and other bugs in our room.
A stay at Harlan Inn & Suites places you in the heart of Harlan, and within a 5-minute drive of Harlan Golf & Country Club. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The room had a refrigerator and microwave. I liked that there was a sink in the bathroom and also outside of the bathroom as that way two people could do hair/makeup at the same time. Easy access to the room.
Cons: The carpet needed shampooing. The inside shower curtain was stained and moldy - I would not even take a shower because it was disgusting. The blanket binding was frayed and was worn. The clock was not plugged in and I could not find an outlet - perhaps I needed to move the bed to find one??? The parking lot was in shambles - potholes everywhere.
Pros: Second time staying for our anniversary. We just love this hotel and the city of Harlan! We’ll definitely be back!
Cons: Parking lot is still in need of repair.
Pros: The room was very clean and spacious
Cons: From the outside it looks like a very sketchy hotel which isn’t how it is inside we almost drove off
Pros: Pretty good location.
Cons: No keys for the outside doors. I had to go up a flight of stairs to get to my room, after knee surgery. Couldn’t get in the outside door which would have been a good handicapped entrance/exit. Also not close enough to town for pizza delivery!
Cons: Had to ask my room to be serviced. Was there 4 nights and only serviced 1 time. Beds are very soft with no support
Pros: The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast food variety was good.
Cons: The room temperature was difficult to maintain at a comfortable level. The carpet in the room needed to be vacuumed. The parking lot in the front of the property was broken up and had several uneven levels to it. The parking in the back was tight.
Pros: The heater worked
Cons: The service had to call the motel from the lobby to even check in. Was told the room I had reserved was not available. 0 degrees out and wants a 70 year old lady to stand outside to smoke. No!! I reserved a smoking room. The room was not clean. Bits of stuff around and in the sinks. Hair and filth in the shower. Toilet was filthy. Had to go to the front desk to get wash cloths. I cleaned the bathroom before we used it. Carpet had bits of food on it.
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: Stained carpet & pillow cases and noisy room
Pros: The breakfast was great
Cons: The beds were quite hard, but we're used to pillow top
Pros: I liked everything
Cons: There's nothing I didn't like
Cons: The carpet was dirty. In the middle of the night the smoke alarm started chirping, from a low battery. I tried calling the front desk, no one answered. I walked to the front desk and there was no one there. There was a sign to pick up the phone, on the desk, and dial 1. Finally the woman that checked us in answered. I told her what was going on. She said okay and hung up. A couple minutes later she came out to the desk, in her robe, and said that the maintenance man would be here in 20 minutes. One hour later he arrived. All he did was remove the smoke alarm completely. Also, the parking lit is a total mess. All broke up and large pot holes.
