The location being at the mall is excellent. Feels old, with poor staff.
They comped us to a larger room free of charge. Great service at front desk. Good discounts at the attractions if you buy then at the desk. Comfy beds and very clean. Not much to complain about.... the decor is a little dated but I kinda liked the cheesy 80's design.
Accessible Two of the girls from our group were stuck in a broken elevator for over an hour.
The convenience of being connected to the mall. Wasn't informed of the construction prior to booking, rooms looked out dated and beds uncomfortable and old for what you pay. There is always an incredibly long line for the elevators! The staff were friendly but not near enough vallet/concierge staff! They always looked stressed and wouldn't let me bring my own luggage to my room! Instead they wanted me to leave it in he front entrance unattended and they would bring it up when they could .... Not a chance!
Had asked for a king bed only got a queen
Location What you pay is no where near the value. Over priced
Family next to us was loud
Fantasyland is a convenient stay for the whole family. While my kids were at the water park (passes r cheaper at the front desk), I was able to shop (don't expect any great deals at this mall). My family also enjoyed the theatres. The rooms are large, comfortable and clean. I had great sleeps on the bed. With so many families there for the Taylor Swift concert, I was surprised the hotel didn't arrange a shuttle to Rexall Place. We ended up having to leave a day early so we lost money on our booking thru Kayak. The hotel didn't offer us a reduction for our next stay
We had no place to put a baby with a crib and they had no cribs...
Buffett breakfast was fantastic No real restaurants in the general area
Carpet was discussing and appeared to not have been vacuumed in weeks, overall cleanliness was not good at all!
Great location to see the Oilers get beat!!! The rooms are very hot the AC fan did nothing
Lovely place, highly recommended...
It looked okay.,, Crazy drugged up people in lobby. Bad service. Room had left over makeup and hair in bed.. To say the least. Cops all over the hotel... I'll never go back.
Nice and clean and updated. Bed was super comfortable. Price was good. The hotel said it was a "smoking free" hotel. Our room smelled like cigarette smoke.
Good location next to Rexall Place. Close to LRT station. Quick and easy access from yellowhead highway.
Location was excellent Rooms were dirty and very out dated. Had to change rooms because of the cleanliness. They say, their rooms have been renovated but they are not up to my standard. No bar at the restaurant, only buffet.
I booked online through booking.com and picked up a king size bedroom for $75.19. I was so pleasantly surprised once I entered the premises. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. In addition, I had a great view from my 7th floor window. I will definitely book here again especially at the price I was able to get! The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but inside you will find it is quite nice with really good service.
close to city transportation condition of windows were bad, music from club below was very loud
The location is directly beside the Rexall Stadium and direct access to the Capilano (Wayne Gretzky Drive). Clean rooms with individual Telus wireless routers for each room, so no worry of other people spying on your browsing (I checked). The rooms felt clean, but also very renovated with modern updates. You could tell the building has been kept up, like it has been around for a while. The breakfast in the morning was great. Make your own waffles, or toast or there is also chef cooking scrambled eggs as well as sausage links and a few more things I don't remember, all placed in serving trays like a small buffet. No mention that the free parking is a parkade with height restrictions. We had a 1-ton dodge with a horse trailer which would not clear. They did find a spot for us in the alley and a parking pass though so that was good.
It was clean and comfortable. Great location and breakfast. That my internet connection in my room did not work
My room was very comfortable, quiet floor, wonderful bed, liked the bath robe, great customer service. Nope!
Check in was effucient - good staff - room was very clean. Excellent beds.
The room was very comfortable and clean. I arrived late in the evening after the dining room was closed but the irish pub had a good menu with live music and it was quite enjoyable When I arrived at the desk they could not find my reservation. It seemed I was going to be turned away which was very unnerving. I asked if they had any rooms and the attendant said yes but not at that rate. After consulting with a superior, he was told to honour the reservation and they would fix things later. Hopefully I will not be charged twice for this event.
The location, downtown. Is great. The security features are great. The booking was charged to my visa 2 days before my arrival, when the confirmation says it would not be charged until I was actually there, and if I chose that method of payment. Also, the night room clerk was extremely rude to my adult daughter when she asked to have her room key card coded. (The cards frequently had to be redone as they did not work) She was interrogated severely and publically and was embarassed by his arrogance.
Loved the very comfortable king sized bed and the complimentary Starbucks coffee in the room. Location perfect in downtown within lots of cafes/shops. We prefer carrying our own luggage to our room, but there was a porter who literally took our luggage while we were checking in and without asking us, took it to our room, of course expecting a tip. We found it somewhat pushy, not our style.
Very nice place to stay. Charged for Internet access
Bed was uncomfortable.
Convienience of th location. Great value for the money. Better deal with your dearch engine than going diect.
rooms were spacious, beds extremely comfortable. there is complimentary starbucks coffee in the room as well as the lobby in the morning. mini bar fridge is meant to be used to keep things at room temperature rather than to cool things down. in order to get a refrigerator, one had to be requested from housekeeping and they were all out of them when we stayed here.
loved the feeling that ur in a 5 star hotel for a 3 star price
Staff helpful Paying $15.95 for parking.
Great place to stay for our wedding night. Comfy bed, recently remodeled room with great facilities. We had dinnew at LA Ronde and it was fantastic! Got woken up at 3am to woman banging on a door three doors down yelling "is she in there?!?!" Commotion lasted 30 minutes
Staff were very courteous under obviously trying circumstances. It's not the hotel's fault but I wish we had known that it was full of guests attending a giant Rave party down the street. The room was nice but the activity in the neighbourhood and in the halls all night was disturbing to say the least. It might be wise to check on events going on at the nearby Shaw convention center when booking -especially if they involve large crowds and open drug use.
Walking distance from Rogers Place (15 min) Good value Nice staff Comfortable bed Dated lobbies/rooms seem slightly dingy This hotel wants to be a super nice but doesn't seem like they want to invest in the accommodations
Very accommodating. Helpful staff.
Excellent and knowledgable staff, friendly and courteous at all times.
Were only stayed there for a few hours but really liked the location, service and price
We got an excellent price. The price for parking was outrageous at $26 per night. We were not told there was a lot across the street where you could park for $3 a day. The bathroom was not very clean.
The total luxury of the room was excellent
See Cons, as there was more than there was Pros. However, I should give my compliments to the reception and housekeeping staff, who were friendly and accommodating. I left my watch in the first room we were given (immediately switched), and housekeeping did report this, and it was quickly returned to me at reception when I noticed. I chose the Sutton Place in Edmonton based on a good experience at their location in Vancouver, which is a nice hotel. The Edmonton property is just not of the same caliber by a mile. The problems started on arrival: parking is not obvious, and no valet was present for directions (it was admittedly Sunday night). The parkade elevator was broken, and stairwell lock, so we ended up exiting through the back into a garbage filled alley. The first room we got had a very loud/on-the-verge of breaking heating fan, so I immediately requested a change of room (which was granted). The amenities are less than Sutton in Vancouver - the mini bar was empty (not stocked - I had been hoping to get some $10 chocolate on the company's dime), the wallpaper in the bathroom old and dirty (fan didn't work). The Television did not carry Sportsnet West, which forced us to go down to the lobby late at night to watch the Flames (lose unfortunately) in the playoffs. The elevators are old, the buttons don't work properly and when you arrive on the ground floor the movement of the lift is gut-wrenching. The hotel restaurant - Chop - is nicely appointed however has a relatively limited menu which we struggled with, as it was dominated by steak. Although admittedly a steakhouse, a hotel restaurant needs more options.
Great location for business travellers, close to Chinatown, upscale, Parking fee of $23 per night, (that's if you are renting a vehicle), typical restaurant prices so we ate elsewhere
It is a convenient location. You can get to many places and hardly have to go outside.
Hotel is close to restaurants, malls and clubs. The room was affordable but the quality is excellent! I did not find slippers in our room. I booked the hotel room for 2 people, 2 bathrobes would be appreciated.
We enjoyed the fact that we had such a short distance to shopping in eaton center. Thanks.
The staff was wonderful
Comfort and location
The breakfast buffet We booked a king room for the friends who went along with us, but there was no kingroom available. We wanted to pay on one bill for the two rooms, but it took a lot of time before we could this be done.
if i go to travel in down town edmonton , i will choose it, it have all i need.
Welcome, efficient check-in, proximity to Red Arrow bus depot and Grant McEwen University, 105 Street cafe breakfast buffet excellent, efficient check-out, quiet, comfortable non-smoking room with good bedding. The room was ready for a makeover - plastic shower/tub was slippery. Elevators are slow and ready for renovation. Hotel facilities directory was missing. Sliding closet door was de-railed.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was really lovely, comfortable beds and nice bathroom. The desk in the room was really handy, along with internet access. Both restaurants were great - friendly staff, good food, and good value. We used the pool and exercise room - wonderful. We were on the third floor and there was a banquet on Friday night on the second floor and we heard it.
The underground parking was great. And the service provided by the people there was awesome Maybe get some lower prices on some single rooms.
Clean room, new carpet, looked like it was recently painted, in other words, the upkeep was good. Nice touches-larger bars of soap, large shampoo etc. nice quality towels, corners of the bathroom were clean--no soil buildup Would be nice to have crisper, ironed sheets and pillowcases.
Comfortable beds. Close to Rexall Place. Fourteen dollars for hotel guest parking.
Downtown location was ideal for me. Additional fees for overnight parking.
Location /price was great because I booked 2 months prior to our trip !!
Once you get to the hotel it is great. There is a problem with the environment however and the city really should address it. Late Saturday night or early Sunday morning maybe like a lot of big cities, but there is a feeling of danger from transients and inebriated or mentally unstable people wandering. I wish the windows could open. I like fresh air.
Smudge the dog was adorable and you can never get better mattresses and pillows than at a fairmont guaranteed The mouse/mice in the lounge
I love the "Mac" as it is called because of the Fairmont service etc, plus the historic nature of the property.
The Staff were amazing , the view of the valley was very nice. I was thrilled to stay in a hotel which played a major Roll in the development of Edmonton, Alberta and Canada. For this reason the Mac is priceless history. I will be back Small room garbage on the lower patio
We loved that we could walk the dog, and the friendly staff.
Comfortable rooms and bed. Friendly staff. Chose this hotel for airport shuttle. After check-in, discovered Shuttle was not complementary, and used outside provider
Clean, modern, newly renovated rooms.
Staff were nice. Location is great if your wanting the hip part of town. Great nightlife nearby, taxi fair is cheap to get to restaurants and bars. Getting a hotel near west edmonton mall shouldnt be the priority for hotel picking. Photos are decieving. Entrance looks good. As soon as the elevator opens it doesnt look good. For the amount its fullpriced at thats in comparison to a nice hotel like Sheraton, its not in the same league. There was questionable guests, maybe they are rating it high. Tape didnt work right. A water bottle would have been nice next to coffee stuff. Balcony is a waste of space and makes the exterior look bad. View is terrible. With such a bad view therr shouldnt be balconies.
The bed was comfy, but I prefer softer pillows
check in took less than 10 mins.
After arriving from south korea and booking in i found the room i was alocated had a leaking roof, the receptionist asked if maintence can have a look i heard nothing else. the facilities were a bit sporadic coffe cups one day none the next, brekfast was a truly fast experince, sit down and check shoved in my face before i had even had brekfast. im due to book back in the the same hotel i hope the rooms have improved Need to update website
Staff we very courteous and extremely helpful. Room was very clean, cleaning staff was helpful and always smiling. Made my stay very enjoyable and relaxing. Was there on business, the room was perfect, clean, quiet. Absolutely not one single complaint
Underground parking Pool facilities were dated and not welcoming to guests as it was part of a health club... Room was unclean, found underwear in closet.
nice comfortable room great location to the LRT helpful and friendly staff
It was quiet, comfortable, and clean. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. We enjoyed using the swimming pool, jacuzzi, weight room and gym. It would have been nice to have complimentary coffee in the lobby area.
We loved almost every aspect of this hotel! The room was beautiful, clean, and extremely relaxing! Their dining was absolutely delicious, we at there at least once a day, brunch and breakfast Buffett were amazing, and the selections for each was plentiful!!! We will definitely return to The Radisson Hotel, on our next weekend getaway!
Locarion Hotel location is only think I can think about as positive, my stay was short 10pm to 8am, when I got inside room floor was full of restaurant flyers, room insulation was terrible, could listen next room conversations if they talked a bit louder and all traffic. The worst was aircondition, every time it went on was really loud, woke up every single time it came on during the night. Not a pleasant experience, highly recommend to avoid this hotel
Easy access although they were renovationg. Food was good. We had a problem with a non functioning bed but got a new room the next day, Because of the renovation, parking was a problem.
We've stayed at this Hotel many times over the years when in town for our children's Lacrosse tournaments and playoffs.Friendly Staff, close to major roadways, close to shopping. I would and do recommend the Radisson South. Parking is tight although nice to see a security guard patrolling at night time
My reservations were made on July 15, for Aug. 15,09 for one night and I was given conformation #s. When we arrived are booking was not confirmed but they fortunetly had one room left. In the future I would have better follow up or you could have very angry people out there. Thank-you, Fred Brad
The hotel it self was very well decorated and breakfast in the morning was amazing
Vefy professional and accomodating staff My tv didnt work. It acted kije a satellitenlosing its sugnal and had very few channels. I called front desk and they advised another guest had same problem
Ultra-modern look, super clean, very comfy, awesome location! I'd stay here again every time I come through edmonton's airport!
Best place to stay near the airport. Easy to acces check in.
Liked the price. Hot tub was closed. Motel is in poor overall shape. Lots of paint coats covering the problems.
had no hot water either morning at hotel . had to wait till afternoon. also room was extremally small
We liked the continental breakfast and the location (easy to get to the WEM which was why we were in Edmonton). The pool was also a bonus.
Parking convenience, morning breakfest Hot tub was out of order and we did not know this before we arrived. It was one of the things we looked for when booking.
very friendly loved the location pool was too cold
The room was dirty. Just the feel old and dirty.
This hotel was a dump This hotel was a dump and it smelled bad
Rooms were clean and well made up - The room and hall way stunks of smoke. Our room was in a wing that was opposite of a smoking wing... No one mentioned this to me when I made my reservation. Also, when I was checking out I asked if I could get the 30% ama discount being advertised outside the hotel on the south side freeway (which I noticed when I had gone out that morning). I was told no, under no circumstances, as I was suppose to have asked for this when I checked in. I then tried to explain to the manager on duty that I didnt know about this discount as there was no sign in the hotel and no sign on the northe side freeway where I came in. I feel that this is very unfair and very tricky.. Almost like the hotel doesnt really want to give the discount.
pool was very small. there is only one elevator bot working well always skipping floors. floors were dirty. staff bot wearing appropriate footwear
I was very disappointed with my stay at the travel lodge I will never stay at one of your locations again. When I first walked into the lobby I thought oh its a nice place, well boy oh boy was I wrong. You asked me not to use this box to complain so I will just say from the minute i booked in at the desk till the day I left I was disappointe
Floors stained tv from the early 90s small bed gross jacuzzi all for 260 dollars stayed in a room hearing everything in the lobby rip off!!!
I liked the fact that the hotel was super close to the new Rogers Place of the Edmonton Oilers. it was like a 5 min walk maybe less. Also if you didn't want to leave downtown there's lots for you to do right at the hotel being attached to a mall that also has a theater also close to the royal alberta museum. The room I stayed in was kinda out dated and the carpet in the room was torn but the other floors have been renovated so it's a work in progress.
The fact that the hotel was close to the LRT so it was very convenient to get to the Oiler game The parking; but what do you expect you are right down town
The staff was friendly, helpful, and the rooms were large and clean. Great value. Centrally located in dowtown Edmonton.
Location is great, and rooms are clean. Rooms are dated, this hotel badly needs a refresh.
The staff were very good, courteous, friendly and went out of their way to ensure our stay went well.
Very friendly staff, and nice looking hotel.Room was clean.Maybe little bit louder street noises but its downtown and its understandable First when I went to check in at 3:30 they said room wasn't ready (on booking confirmation said 3 pm I could check in). They wanted to give me different room for free but then, because parking is $20 plus $3 every time you leave it and come back, they "saved " me money by upgrading to a suite for $35 which was $39 next day and I didn't have to pay parking. This is all little things so it didn't affect my liking of this hotel. Will go there again
It was ok at best. Construction first thing in the morning. Room wasn't ready for a 3:15 check in. They did upgrade us, but the room wasn't clear of coffee cups when we checked in. Not a big deal, but I mentioned it to front desk and they didn't seem to care. Asked for a corkscrew and a few wine glasses, and the lady that dropped them off seemed more annoyed than anything else.
Being connected to the mall was excellent. The choices of stores to shop at were good. The staff were very friendly. The choices and prices of the food in the restaurant were a bit disappointing to me. It would have been nice to have some of the food that was on the room service menu served in the restaurant.
Location is good for downtown business Rooms run down, water stains on ceiling, plumbing issues.
Staff was the best thing!!! Very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were great and very clean. No pool
Location Old tub, old carpet, steamer room broken
The personnel was very helpful, and polite, the breakfast was good
Extremely nice and helpful staff. good location Could not find the temp control for heat in the room. fan in bathroom was not working either.
No sleep timer on the tv Booked a smoking room and then it was not available when I arrived
The service was excellent and the food was also very good.
New carpets, new furniture, comfortable bed, very clean, friendly staff, near restaurants, shopping. I'd stay here again. Music from night club a little loud after midnight
go to lounge
Poor service ever come across Not hygenic and dirty carpet. Exhaust system was not working in bathroom. Not enough heating and blanket was too thin. Horrible experience. See as above.
the staff was helpful and the bed was very comfortable
The price was really good. N/A
Free breakfast The decor is very dated. There were not so good smells all around the hotel and on our floor. Hotel staff was extremely slow with checking us in. Took forever to check out too.
The room was OK and the location was good. Worn tacky interior with stained and torn carpets in the hallway, There was an door that neither my wife or I could identify. The breakfast was overpriced for what we had. We'll choose a different hotel next time
Staff did an excellent job of getting us a room pior to the normal check in time of 3pm
I loved this swanky boutique hotel with evening wine tastings, free breakfast & internet, you can't go wrong. We stayed here during the Edmonton Indy and we saw some of the racers from the Indy, which is always a bonus! It was quite, but still had a social atmosphere. The front desk takes good care of you and when I needed a sewing kit, they even had one on hand. Highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Edmonton!
When we got to this hotel, it was a sight for sore eyes! We had been staying at run down older hotels and this hotel was incredibly clean and friendly! The staff was always available and welcoming. The breakfast was incredibly upscale and good! The only complaint were that the walls were very thin and it seemed more of a part hotel so there was a lot of noise at night when people would come back from the bars. Great hotel and very classy! The restaurant down stairs was expensive, but incredible food and service!
We stayed at the Matrix hotel and have nothing but good things to say! The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was immaculate (which is super important). The size of the room was smaller than anticipated, but it was a great stay, nice and quiet, and the staff was very helpful. I will definitely stay there again!
Great staff, very friendly. Service in lounge was excellent. Rooms were great. Will be staying here again. Love all the perks!
Breakfast is diverse and well-presented: stunning pastries, lovely range-run chicken eggs in a cup with potatoes and cheese -- yummy. Oatmeal, yogurt, sausages, heated cinnamon rolls, juices, milks, fruit skewers. This is fantastic and included in the pri Price slightly higher than PriceLine said. Parking is not well-kept in winter. Wine at welcome is very low-grade, and appetizers were minimal this time. Not deal-breakers but not up to usual standards.
I recently stayed at the trendy/boutique Matrix and enjoyed every minutes. Located on a quiet street only 1 block away from Jasper Avenue (with restaurants options), also walking distance from the parliament building and the river valley park. The Lobby is very nice; the room was super comfortable with all the amenities (flat screen TV, alarm radio Ipod, iron/iron board etc) and everything was spotless. I really appreciated the fact that Internet, parking, Breakfast (and great selection too) and a wine reception are offered at no charge daily. Plus everyone at the hotel was smiley and always ready to help.
I stayed at The Matrix over a weekend and it's a great little hotel. It's centrally located so would be a great hotel for business travellers conducting business in downtown Edmonton. But leisure travellers could also benefit from it being centrally located and close to a light-rail station. The staff at the front desk were pleasant.
Loved the free continental breakfast! Loved the playpen and sheet we received without an extra fee for my son, which was delivered in no time to my room upon asking. I did not like that the bathroom had a sheer wall so at night when our son was trying to sleep, if one of us was in the bathroom with the light on- the whole room was completely light. This is just such a ridiculous idea.
I'd go there again. It was reasonably priced, neat and clean. The staff were friendly and there were plenty of services in the area.
