9.2 Excellent
Pros: + view + room layout (make sure you have water view room) + staff
Cons: - no convenience store - if you like to have snacks or late night food please make sure that you buy at the convenience store near the station as there is really nothing available at the hotel store in terms of food and there is no room service ( a club sandwich @ the lounge is over ¥2000++) - small thing @ restaurant if you like French food - the duck "confit" is grilled duck not French style confit - meaning tougher game style meat and not melting in your mouth
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cakes from late morning to early evening were superb and reasonably priced.
Cons: The hotel is geared up for Japanese guests, which is to be expected. So breakfast was fantastic for Japanese cuisine. Not quite so good for western tastes. Fruit selection was unexciting and bacon was strange. One dinner I chose confit duck and it was so tough that I couldn't eat it. Even the chef didn't know what had gone wrong with it! At least I wasn't charged for it.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Clean room
Cons: Useless, obtrusive staff who veto what food you can consume in your room. Pizza delivery is ok, nothing else. Treated like children. No point writing this though as this site only publishes positive criticism. Reality is blocked.

Cons: None
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It was near the train station which was very important to my visit to your city.
Cons: Our room for two could of been larger and it had too much furniture for that room but it worked for last minute.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to station, a little bigger than most hotels we have been in, helpful staff that told us about the free shuttle to View point for Mount Fuji viewing
Cons: Rules is rules attitude regarding extending our check out time, 1000 JPY per hour and after 3 hours a full nights charge, the hotel wasn’t even busy, in other countries there is much more flexibility around this matter especially in low season.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is very near the train station, which is what we were looking for. The breakfast buffet has a variety of both American and Japanese food and was quite good. There is a washer and a dryer on 3 floors, making it convenient to get some laundry done. The staff will make change for you.
Cons: It looked like there was a change machine next to the washer/dryer and vending machines. However, after feeding in ¥1,000 I didn't get any change, but instead, a slip of paper. I took it to the front desk and they told me I had just bought some in the room movies. They refused to give me a refund. So, those machines that look like change machines are NOT!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: location

7.5 Good
Cons: Didn't have bathroom
5.8 Okay
Pros: It has a nice big spa which is relaxing and full of amenities. Staff are friendly and food is OK. Free shuttle to the train station.
Cons: The hotel seems as it hasn't been renovated in 20 years and has an old vibe to it. A bit expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at in Japan.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, spa , the massage and good food.
Cons: The elevator doesn’t have a stopper on both sides of the door. I was getting on the elevator and the door started to close . I put up my right hand to stop it and nothing . I put up my right arm and that door had a stopper. The door started to close and took my pinky toe and 4th door with it. My toes were bent back badly it was very painful and then my foot was swollen and bruised. Walking was hard. We spoke to the staff and they really said nothing except oh! No reports no we are sorry nothing. The massage lady was kind and massaged around the area and gave me a cold pad to put on it. Upon check out the staff asked how my foot was and I said it’s worse and very bruised and they again just oh! Then they gave me a cold pad to put on my foot! I went there to relax and come back refreshed instead I came home with a very swollen foot. I am disappointed that they didn’t even try to figure out how this happened to prevent it from happening again! What if it was s child who tried to get on the elevator. I sent a message to the hotel and no response . Sadly it is one of my favorite spas ! This time get disappointed . It has been a week and my foot is still painful but getting better little by little . Yes I do have photos of my foot.

Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Cons: Slightly isolated
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It's all about the baths, and the onsen bathroom was amazing! Three saunas, two steam rooms, mineral and radium baths, a 14-meter pool, and more! I've rarely been so clean. The free shuttle bus to the station was good, but it's only a ten-minute walk to Okitsu station anyway.
Cons: The bathroom can get very busy in the afternoons, as it's open to the public as well as hotel guests.

Pros: Facilities were great, friendly staff, great choice of food and entertainment, baths were very nice and relaxing, would definetly stay again!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfy hotel, nice extras like provides a charger, by suburban railway station
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was clean and spacious enough. for my husband and myself. The hotel is very close to the station which was ideal for us. The staff were very friendly, helpful and polite, I would definitely recommend this hotel
Cons: Nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was immaculate, and very quiet even though the hotel was next to the train station. Facilities are very high specification. Breakfast really good value for money.
Cons: The bed configuration was not what I expected. I set my filter for one adult and two kids (ages 11 and 12), and the results for this hotel delivered a room, which I chose, having one double bed. We cannot all three of us sleep on one double bed. It took them 2 days to initially get back to me (thereafter response were quick) but by that time I couldn't cancel my booking. I had to change to two single beds (for a fee) and sleep across the two beds - not an ideal night's rest. I was also charged an extra 200 yen for Breakfast - problem is that when I made the booking it specifically said no breakfast option but I thought I ask when we arrived and I could then book breakfast for an extra fee. Not good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the cleanliness were up to standard. The staff very friendly and helpful. Check in was so easy and they held our luggage at reception.
Cons: The quality of the breakfast was poor. We were down early, yet no food had been replaced nor were staff bringing out fresh supplies. The pictures of what is on offer differ to what is available. Rooms very warm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff and location is the best!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room is clean and comfortable to stay.
Cons: Near the station which a bit noisy
1.0 Poor
Pros: The size of the room
Cons: I was put in a smoking room - even though I remember booking a non smoking room. It completely stunk and totally ruined everything. There was another persons hair in the bathroom too. Although I requested a room with a sea view, there was no mention that it could be noisey. I got maybe 1 hour sleep at around 4am as the trains shot past every 5 minutes. The bed was rock hard, didn’t feel like a mattress at all. I ended up crying myself to sleep in the end because I was so tired from a big day of travelling, to get back to a room that was horrible.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Few minutes walk from JR station, and bus terminal where you can take a public bus to Miho no Matsubara. There are convenient stores and eateries in the area. Also within walking distance to the Market Kashi no Ichi.
Cons: Nil.

Pros: The hotel was pretty standard but good value and good location. Staff were helpful and spoke limited English.
Cons: Definitely a business hotel so lacked some character
7.5 Good
Pros: Good choice of food for breakfast. friendly staff.
Cons: carpark was full when we arrived. room was a bit small.

7.9 Good
Pros: Position is very strategic, 3 mins walk from the main station and the main shopping area. The room was clean and comfortable and so was the bed. Very useful the multi USB charger that worked well with all my devices. WiFi connection ok although not particularly fast.
Cons: The breakfast is very limited consisting of 4 fixed menu with very limited choice. The breakfast siting area is very small so not a place for a relaxed breakfast. What ws really not ok was the persistent smell of smoke in the hall and in the breakfast area.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast and dinner prepared by the hostel was excellent! They used the fresh ingredients and cooked them nicely, although the amount seems a lot, me and my family could finish them all! The accommodation was excellent too, neat and cozy, and the staff were so helpful and cheerful. The location is super good to see Mt. Fuji!
Cons: If the hostel could prepare shuttle bus service to the closet JR station would be better, and the hair dryer in the room wasn't strong enough.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location, public bath(quality of water), close to sea side you can have a nice walk in the morning
Cons: I pre ordered ¥8000 for Kaiseki dinner in a hotel, However it didnt really meet my expectations.(maybe my fault). By the time i arrived to my table small bites of starters were already on the table,, followed by sashimi and pre cooked fish, braised veggies for my main meal only given rice, miso soup, assorted pickes that was it! Also drinks menu(sake ect) between japanese and english menu were different in terms of price. On English menu they do not offer sake by the glass,, minimum sake price range starting from ¥2000 which is not fair. Also my meal (for solo traveller) and table of 3 next to mine were quite different-they were given extra chicken dish with their rice! I asked them later if they ordered special menu but told me it was part of ‘package’ deal. I got an impression that the whole thing was a bit of a rip off for foreigners? My conclusion is 1. If you do not read or speak Japanese, avoid ordering Kaiseki dinner because it was no where near worth ¥8000. Also i had to order 300ml Sake ¥2000 on top of it. If I am lucky enough to visit them again i will definitely explore local resto. 2. On the positive side, the quality of public bath is top notch. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Also if you can get up early in the morning, strongly recommend take a walk by the sea side.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an incredible experience
Cons: No negative points

Cons: Not clean for the bathtub

Pros: The staff were lovely and very helpful. The location is great and very close to main Shizuoka train station
Cons: It is a little tired
4.6 Okay
Pros: It's very close to the station
Cons: The room size is ridiculous, it looks like a prison. The air conditioning system is freezing cold, no matter what temperature you set. The pillow is awful. There is a microscopic desk, where it is hard to put more than very few things, not to mention the size of the toilet. You can choose between a western and a japanese style breakfast. They are both quite bad and always the same throughout the week. In two words: go elsewhere!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the station, restaurants, and shopping. The staff was friendly and helpful, particularly the breakfast staff. Everything worked as it should.
Cons: We had a twin room, which was very cramped. There was no view and nothing particularly interesting about the hotel--it's just a place to stay.
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Nothing to comment
8.8 Excellent

Pros: The staff were excellent.
Cons: The bed was very hard and there was no space to get out of the bed on both sides. The breakfast menu was very small.

Pros: Surprised by this hotel. Yes the rooms are small - but bright and well lit. Breakfast was fine. Everything was spotless. Wasn’t trying to be anything it wasn’t.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was really nice hotel wish to stay again Nice location and nice room
Cons: Check out time was early need till 11 am and also check inn time was late need start from 2pm
7.1 Good
Pros: The breakfast was basic, and the food hoppers / prison meal trays were a turnoff. Overall it was an ok stay at an ok hotel. Being from North America I was taken aback at the size of the room, billed as a double. There is no way my wife (who did not accompany) and I could have been comfortable.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The premises have free parking. The location is just a few minutes drive from Tomei expressway's interchange, which makes it a good rest or stopover during a very long drive. The cost performance is good as the hotel accommodate a family at a lower price. Around the area, there are numerous car support, gasoline station, family restaurants, and eatery.
Cons: There is an electric kettle but no cup or mug in the room for coffee. Anybody who wants to drink hot drinks or tea must get a paper cup near the reception.
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast and the view
Cons: The bed was rock like, and the lobby and rooms look well-worn, even dowdy.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great price and location
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing
Cons: The lock to the hotel room door wasn’t very good but the front desk was very professional and helpful.

Pros: Staff very friendly, made an effort to welcome us. Breakfast was usual Japanese fare, good tea and coffee. location is 'out-of-town' but good restaurants nearby
Cons: too far out if you want to enjoy the town-centre facilities in Shizuoka. You can get a bus, otherwise its a long walk from the main train station.

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: All rooms are smoking rooms. This is not shown in the original booking page.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Supportive staff who helped me send my luggage with Yamato. Although we did not share a common language, we both used online translators to communicate. They gave me a bon voyage matcha candies gift, which added a touch of finesse and it is greatly appreciated it. Their sento is pleasant to relax and is available at fixed times either AM or PM. Hotel lends umbrellas and provides guests with nice Japanese tea variety different from matcha or oolong, which I also enjoy drinking. There is a 7-11 across the street and around the corner there are many shops (which close early), and a bus stop that takes guests straight to the train station in 15 minutes or less.
Cons: Hotel or booking.com should explicitly state that this is a hotel exclusively for SMOKERS. The room smell was partially ameliorated by burning bamboo incense sticks. Although there is a bus stop around the corner, it is only operational until late afternoon / early evening. If returning after 19 hours, a different bus takes a wee longer from the main train station and guests must walk for about eight minutes to reach the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The onsen, the sauna. So relaxing for a walker. This place is a diamond, and i would spend my wedding honeymoon for a couple days here
Cons: Something wrong sometimes with wifi on 5th floor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Owner is kind eger to help but can speak a little english. He offer me a room with the view of Fujisan awesome!!
Cons: A little bit far from station for walking but easy to find
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The spa was lovely, so comfortable Very friendly staff, family owned hotel Very clean Convenient location, bus stop at door step
Cons: Smoking smell in the room, probably wrong booking in smoker room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The care team—husband, wife, and kids—are all very friendly and fun. Some of the rooms even have views of Mt. Fuji (other highrises are included for your viewing delight). Nice sento and sauna. Great vintage collections on each floor.
Cons: The mattress in our room (shared twin) was very firm, with some unevenness. The primary problem was that some rooms and some floors are smoking ones, and it permeates the halls and rooms. We kept a window open for fresh air. It was hard to find reasonable-priced hotels in Shizuoka that did not have smoking rooms; if we returned to Shizuoka, I would consider staying again.
7.9 Good
Pros: Old looking hotel, but there is an onsen in it! I enjoyed it The room is comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners and staff were so friendly and welcoming it really made the experience of staying here a lot nicer! Family run hotel with some lovely personal touches. Old antique style which I had never experienced before.
Cons: I think on floor 5 there is a smell of cigarette smoke. You are allowed to smoke indoors in Japan but for me personally I would have preferred not to have this floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff
8.8 Excellent
Pros: all except location are good
Cons: location is bad

Cons: Too expensive. Room are small. Hotel and facilities look old.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderfully central yet quiet location, very gentle staff, wonderful breakfast

7.9 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly and doing all their best to help, despite sometime a rather poor knowledge of English. Very close to the station, with many restaurants in the area. Good breakfast.
