Pros: It was a beautiful, clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were a good size and more than ample space for the family room as well. The pool was very clean and well maintained and had a nice views of the city and the sea in the distance. It was a brisk 20 minute walk to Ortygia Island, where there was an array of local eateries and a lovely walk by the marina and sea for swimming. The food and cocktails were good at the hotel, though the portion sizes for lunch and dinner on the smaller side. Breakfast was a good array of choices including a cooked breakfast, fresh croissants, fruit and yoghurt - it was a good start to the day and friendly staff to also greet us in the mornings. We got the Interbus from Catania Airport which was about an hour transfer to a stop near the hotel for about 5.70 euros each way and a comfortable and cost effective journey. We’d definitely stay at the hotel again should we visit Sicily in the future.

There was no self service for tea coffee and so we had to wait for the waiters who were serving us late. Bar closes at 10:30 which we found to be very early. There was no boiler in the room. Neither was there any complimentary water or tea coffee packets. It's a good hotel but overpriced for what it's worth.

Cons: The room was not as in the pictures presented here. It was smaller and with barely any natural light as the small window faced an even smaller courtyard inside the building itself. There was mold around the shower and everything looked like it was cleaned in a hurry - even the complementary shampoos seemed refilled. We didn't ask for another room as we were only there for a night and less than 12h, otherwise we would have. For a 4 star hotel, it is not acceptable.

The hotel is not up to standards when it comes to the most important features: room was extremely small making it impossible to fit 2 people with 2 luggage, sound proofing was incredibly poor (we had to change the first room due to air conditioning noise and even in the second room we were constantly disturbed by doors slamming, people walking with luggage over metal floors, sound of neighbours showers and toilet and unidentified noise of hammering at 7am), room furniture needs upgrade and cleaning was questionable with areas in the bathroom that were neglected. To conclude, plastic glasses at breakfast were not only low on sustainability but also low on premium experience.

Fantastic place and very friendly and helpful staff. Our room was upgraded upon arrival to a junior suite with sea view (for no extra cost), and the suite was absolutely amazing, with a view on Ortigia. We had a great time.

Cons: Most of the personal has not the service actitud that the manager has. There are no towels at the beaches and or pools you wait for ever to get them and they still never get there. It Is also very important to know if you make reservations and you have children that the rooms could be far away from each other including street crossings in between. Make sure to book a Village if you go with family. My husband got stung by a sea urchin and they did not have good instruments to take the thorns out there are also no sings on the rocky beach letting you know there are sea urchins and we did not know there were.

The hotel’s private beach is a nice boat ride across the bay, where we were greeted with friendly staff who showed us to beach chairs and set up umbrellas, and a bar with a small menu that was perfect for lunch. Traveling as a family, we were expecting the usual cot made up in a corner, but were greeted with a “family room” that had a queen bed on the first floor, and a loft upstairs with a twin sleeper sofa. The room was beautiful, and the bathroom spacious enough and clean. We also enjoyed the expansive breakfast buffet with a view from the roof. I would definitely stay here again.

Cons: The breakfast is industrial, nothing is fresh, it's cheap supermarket products. We changed rooms 3 times because something wasn't working. We saw many ants in one of the rooms. This hotel should loose 2 stars out of 5 or change management ASAP.

Cons: The reception deck took our passports during the check-in time and didn't return it. On the check-out date we missed our flight as at Catania airport we found out that our passports were still with the reception desk. I had to spend an additional 80 EUR to get all the passports from the Hotel to the airport.

Cons: The apartments doors and windows all open directly onto a courtyard, which is filled with tables and chairs from a very popular pub. We were there on a Friday and Saturday night, and Saturday night especially there was so much noise (talking, laughter, etc), that none of us were able to sleep, until the pub closed after 1:00 am. There also isn’t an actual reception area to check in. When we arrived, we had to call the number listed on the reservation in order for someone to check us in, although in all fairness, once we did, she came quickly and was very pleasant.

Cons: Bedbugs. Plenty, we killed more than two dousens during the night. Reading after that night we learned that variety in sizes we observed indicates that these bugs leave there permanently. The night was ruined completely. And a scary feeling that they might put eggs in our luggage, which we kept on the floor, is still in our mind. @booking.com : I would really appreciate if you publish my review. Note that I don't want and I will never accept any kind of compensation. I simply want to nail the hotel which does not follow elementary sanitary rules. This was a horrible experience and I would like to warn other tourists.
