Supplier choice

When I chose the mystery vehicle I found out at pickup that it was an EV. I had to upgrade for an additional $15 a day to get a gas car. I wish the website had told me ahead of time.

The staff was fine. The car was subpar. I did enjoy the convenience of the rental being right there in the terminal, I did have a difficult time trying to find the mileage on the car because I wasn’t familiar with it.

I didn't like that when I got to the return parking lot I had to look for someone that could receive the return, as I wanted for it to be scanned as returned, so that I can get prove that I did return it. I don't like leaving a car there with keys inside, without any prove that I return the car, I want leaving with that peace of mind. It was during business hours. Probably under staff I don't know but I didn't like the service, although the person that came to help me was nice it was not her fault I blame the management.

Easy drop off for very early flight. Prepaid fuel also a great idea. No gas stations open near airport.

Pros:

We did get an upgraded vehicle because there was no vehicle that we requested available

Cons:

The vehicle outside had been keyed heavily. No one from the staff came out to inspect the vehicle with us. This was a Dodge Caravan and literally, the passenger side sliding door came off the track and was not able to close completely. The wind noise from the door not closing was ridiculous.

Pros:

Online booking through Kayak was easy and affordable. Check out and check in were simple and efficient.

Cons:

The vehicle had that specific aroma of one that had been smoked in. The company had probably paid a big fee to have cleaning done but the residual odor is still there, especially picked up by non-smokers. Sorry Avis, send it though the treatment another time.

Pros:

Pick up and drop off was painless and easy. The Alamo counter is shared with National and Enterprise. Everybody was friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Car was outstanding, clean and practically new. Overall experience was great!

Pros:

Counter has only one person at drop off and no one in the return lot. That one counter person was overwhelmed with people wanting to rent and return cars - not their fault.

Cons:

More staff at the rental counter.

Cons:

The car could have been started and warmed up. We flew into an ice storm and had to wait in a cold car for 20 minutes before the ice could be scraped off the windows. Besides that, all was well!

Nothing this was a horrible experience.

Cons:

I didn't get my rental car. The payless rep said I could not use a prepaid rental car transaction to pick up the car from the airport. Allow me to get my rental car on time and use the prepaid function.
