The staff was fine. The car was subpar. I did enjoy the convenience of the rental being right there in the terminal, I did have a difficult time trying to find the mileage on the car because I wasn’t familiar with it.
Car was returned with no damage. They sent me a bill for $1500 for a chip in the windshield. They refuse to cal me back

I didn't like that when I got to the return parking lot I had to look for someone that could receive the return, as I wanted for it to be scanned as returned, so that I can get prove that I did return it. I don't like leaving a car there with keys inside, without any prove that I return the car, I want leaving with that peace of mind. It was during business hours. Probably under staff I don't know but I didn't like the service, although the person that came to help me was nice it was not her fault I blame the management.

I called on 10/19/23 to confirm rental car pickup at Springfield airport; Avis rep confirmed airport pickup. Upon arrival I was told to pick up rental at Avis in Springfield. I had to take Uber (cost: $26.94) to Avis location in Springfield.

I have never had the best luck with Avis. Several times, I have been charged twice for a rental. And it’s taken over a month to be reimbursed. One of those times, I had to reach out three times to get my refund.
A Rental Confirmation doesn’t mean anything. I had 3! Count them THREE “Confirmed” Reservations and when I went to Pick Up my rental…they had zero cars available or any size or model. Nothing. Zero Inventory. So basically your reservation is first come first serve no matter what kind of bull**** confirmation number you have. Y’all are worse than the airlines.

Counter has only one person at drop off and no one in the return lot. That one counter person was overwhelmed with people wanting to rent and return cars - not their fault.

The car could have been started and warmed up. We flew into an ice storm and had to wait in a cold car for 20 minutes before the ice could be scraped off the windows. Besides that, all was well!

I didn't get my rental car. The payless rep said I could not use a prepaid rental car transaction to pick up the car from the airport. Allow me to get my rental car on time and use the prepaid function.
We had a medical issue on our trip so was a half day late returning the van. Instead of adding another of our daily rates they charged me 4 times that amount stating the rates went up then a bunch of fees and taxes.
While picking up the car, there was only one working computer. It took about an hour and a half to get the car.

Everything was great, car was ready, quick check out. My only issue is with the way the car insurance was handled. I paid an amount through Kayak which I found out was through a third party, which if I had an accident I would have been responsible to pay for the repairs and then would have been reimbursed through the third party. I'm sure this was disclosed in the fine print, but seems manipulative. I ended up paying an additional amount through Hertz directly, which would cover all repairs had there been damage or an accident.

The place was hard to find! It was behind a strip mall with no signage on the street. The inside of the car could have been cleaner especially during Covid. We had to wipe everything down with sanitizing wipes before our trip.
I was given a upgrade that was a Chevy Tahoe rather than a midsize SUV. But that Tahoe had a leaky tire with three plugs in it and I had to keep pulling over and refilling the tire on on a long drive. Also they gave me a car that did not have the left rear turn signal working. Then when I went to turn the car in they said that I had change the car and they charge me $2000 instead of the 299 a week. I’m very disappointed. I will not be using national car rental again.
