Went to Maggie Valley to see Wheels Thru Time Museum and the wife & one adult son came along. Picked Jonathan Creek because few booking available at time. What a home run! After a recent bad experience using small local inns on a PA get away we found spotless, well maintained facilities with local charm and comfort. and a friendly staff. Last minute travel changes had us stay two nights and not just one. Next season I plan a cycle tour back to Maggie Valley and to run the near by Dragon and I will return.
Really, really liked the whole nature scene. There were plenty of trees, a rushing creek playing my favorite sounds, and a comfortable place to lay my head at night. Also, the folks behind the desk were super kind and helpful. They seemed to enjoy helping my group get orientated with Maggie's Valley.
Beautiful area, clean friendly staff. Best on franchise hotel for the price I can remember staying in. No breakfeast served, however great resturant across the street.
stayed one night and was pleased with room for the money spent.easy access and exit.would recommend.
Excellent room it was clean, bed was comfy, would stay again, staff was very friendly.
I didn't know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. This hotel was very cozy and extremely clean. This is not what I would call a typical 'Econo- lodge'. It was way above my expectations. If you are not staying at the casino. I don't think there is a better place in Cherokee.
I stayed during the street repair time. It was noisy and hard to get around since the street was down to one lane. It was OK for the price. Didn't expect much for breakfast and didn't get much. Coffee and yogurt.
The room was clean--tv and ac worked--front desk friendly and nice --room service was very good. Breakfast was small (not much choice. Over-all very nice.
I have been staying here since they tore the Plasa Motel down a few years ago. I tried a couple of others but when I stayed at the Econ Lodge that was it, I have been comming back ever since. Icall the Qualla my home away ffrom home and try to get back as often as I can. My next visit will be July 1 to 8. I will be there for the Pow-Wow, which if any of you are in the area should try to see. I'm sure once you stay here you'll want to come back, especially when the leaves turn in the fall. From here I'm going up north for about 3 or 4 weeks and then back here on my way back to Florida for a week or so. So, why not make your next trip Cherokee and the Econo Lodge I'm sure you'll enjoy the Hotel and it's location.
I stayed for one night and it was a great place to stay at. The check in attendant was very nice and check out was absolutely a breeze. I highly recommend it.
Staff friendly, room very clean, nice bedding and comfortable mattress. convenient
The location along the river was perfect! Close to everything we wanted to do, but not so close that we were bothered by the sounds of traffic or the crowds! The room was clean and fully stocked, but the beds were a little lumpy. The staff was excellent; helpful, but not intrusive! The breakfast menu was very sparse, but we will definitely stay again!
I recomend this hotel...It's close to everything, very ,very quiet and the location is so beautiful, close to the river and a lot o f trees around...Loved the place..
The Ridge Top is perfect for anyone who wants a room to call home base while doing the many activities around Bryson City. The rooms and property are clean and well kept by the owners who live on site. We found it to be Quite at night and has a charm of its own. You won't find a better place for the money in town and we will be staying there again the next time we visit the area. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with all the bells and whistles, this isn't the place, but if a comfortable well kept motel is your goal, book it now! No Complaints here!
The guy at the desk was very nice. The hotel was perfect for what we were looking for -- cheap, in Bryson City, no frills. Everything that you expect to work (hot and cold water, lamps, tv) worked well. We got decent WIFI as well but we're not sure whether it was actually the hotel's. The area was also really quite.
The location was nice, the view was ok, leaving was great Very poor AC, run down bathrooms,
Clean, pleasant owners, a roof over my head after fishing all day. Nothing more asked of it ....
It was a short ride to the train stop and an easy drive to Bryson City for shopping and dining. Great price compared to other hotels in Bryson City. It was in a quiet location too. From the front porch there was a nice view of the mountains. The room had a very strong odor of room deodorizer. The room also desperately needed updating as did the whole property.
The kitchenette The garbage cans outside our room needed to be emptied.
The room was what we wanted, the owners were exceptional nothing
Helpful staff, great price, room was way better than I expected
Staff was very nice. Room very dusty. Sheets were clean but very musty smelling.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. The room was clean, comfortable and mountain setting was very peaceful. Great place to stay if you want a reasonable-priced hotel in a beautiful, serene setting. N/A
As the host hotel a group from all around north America, this was a good place that could accommodate a crew. Our hosts were great!! Could use new mattresses to go with the well done physical updates to rooms. Mine wasn't so good.
this hotel had a firmular feeling of home. we like the spacious bathroom and we had plenty of room to lay stuff on the sink counter, without fear it would get knocked off. only that it needs a little bit of weather striping around the door,
Nice person at desk. rated number 1 on your sight. I guess i did not read close enough. no power in bathroom, no one at desk when arrived, lots of motor cycles to wake us during the night.
We liked the location and the proximity to the local park - the festival we were going to was within walking distance& we did not have to move our car. The staff (owner) was extremely friendly & helpful. Everything was clean. Nice spacious bathroom. THE MATRESSES!!! Both of the beds in the room we were in had mattresses on them that were so soft I dubbed them 'marshmallow beds'. We rolled down into the middle when we got in and it was a challenge to get out. New mattresses wd be a big benefit.
The rooms are non smoking. Since the rooms are non smoking, there are rocking chairs set up outside of the rooms, which looks inviting, but smokers sit outside of the rooms and smoke. My mom and I would come back to the room and would be stuck in the room with no where to relax and look at the scenery. That kind of sucked. Plus, the cigarette smoke drifted into our room. It would be nice if there was an area away from the room with inviting chairs to sit in to relax and look at the scenery.
Staff is friendly. Poor sound insulation.
I called the night before & reserved room 3B. When we checked in she admitted she failed to make the reservation and someone else was in the room already. We got room 2A, near the street. She was nice enough to come to the room and refund us our money. Ask for rooms B, they are further from the road, but the window shaker masks any road noise so it doesnt matter much.
The owners were very friendly. Our children loved the playground. The motel needed to be updated. The comforters and pillowcases looked old and faded. The TV remote didn't work, and the TV only pulled in one channel - Nickelodeon. The room was also incredibly humid!
A very nice, clean and quaint room. the staff was very polite and friendly. The only thing I didn't think to bring was shampoo and wouldn't you know it there wasn't any in the room. Not a big deal at all
The owner's were very nice and willing to go out of their way to make your stay comfortable and fun. Gave suggestions for things to do in and surrounding Maggie Valley.
Renovated bathroom was nice, and room included mini fridge and microwave. Cheapest stay in town. Had cable. A/C worked. Comforters, carpet and tv are all ancient. Front office stays locked and you have to call to get someone to meet you. Extremely thin walls, was woken up at 1am due to tv being loud in room next door, couldn't go back to sleep. Also person staying in room next door decided they needed to go outside and smoke pot at 1am, so our room instantly filled with the smell of pot... Very unhappy with this. Would definitely NOT stay here again.
This is a cute little place on main street next to the clock tower. The staff is wonderful and very kind. Even if your room doesn't view the river there is a place you can walk down to it. Bryson City is a beautiful little town with breath taking views. Rosewood is a wonderful stay in a beautiful city. The only things i was not a fan of were the bed is a little on the hard side, and there is no microwave.
