Even though I had a confirmation from Hertz, when I arrived at the location they specified, there was no car. The people who worked there were rude, loud, unhelpful. They told me my best option was to take an Uber 40 mins north to another location ($100 Uber ride). So not use this service! And do not if you can help it try to rent a car from Hertz in Tacoma because a reservation means 0.

I reserved a car through kayak, made plans dependent on that car, then was told an hour before picking up the car that there were no cars available. Never renting a car through Hertz or Kayak again !

I made the reservation for 12 noon on 12/16. We got there at 12:05 and the office closed at 12:00. They would not allow us to rent the car. Your website did not mention that the particular location closed at 12 pm. I should not have been able to make the reservation for 12 since they closed at 12. I was left without a car.

Friendly yes, helpful.....I guess. He let me know he didn’t have the car I’d reserved or anything available that could accommodate 6 people.

Cons:

Inventory. Place was filthy. Understaffed. Associate wore mask under nose.

Overall the rental was nice, the only minor issue I had and it was probably due to high volvume, but the inside was not necessarily the cleanest but for what we needed it suffices. I usually get top notch from enterprise so I won’t fault them for this one transgression. I’d use them again

I was able to pick up the car fairly easily, smooth process took less than 5 minutes to both pick up the car and return it. Was able to get a fairly new vehicle that ran very smoothly, was cleaned beforehand. Drama free. Front desk staff was very friendly.

The website rental confirmation did not correspond to actual car availability. The rental confirmation did not actually exist. Had I not called the local rental office, I would not have found out there there were no cars to rent - and I would have been totally out of luck and stranded.

Payless has great customer service for the situation we were out in. The insurance prices are crazy but at the end of the day it wasn’t Payless fault. This is a country requirement that we did understand prior to booking. The pick up was easy and Luis was great!! Drop off was simple as well and super friendly. Car was cleaned when we picked up and that was appreciated.

The check-in process took forever. It was a large line and at the beginning the attendance. Chatting among each other, Delaying the process. Finally, a young man came in. And checked in as many people as the previous to attendance did together. I’ve been to this car rental before, and it brought a memory of the last time we experience the same thing. Very frustrating.

I prepaid for my car only to get to the counter and wait for just under an hour. Once assigned a car, I again waited because I was then told my car was double booked. I finally got a car, and it was a great car. However, after turning it in on time I was charged for 3 additional days because they had me down as driving a completely different car. Definitely will Pay More next time and rent from someone else.

Getting from baggage claim to Payless terminal had to stand in long lines to get on the bus. The customer service agent was very nice and friendly. We ended up getting an electric car, but never told us about what charging stations we could use being not familiar with that type of electric car and where the charging stations were a big problem wasted a lot of time during our driving experience, trying to find chargers that would work.

Payless always comes through, the pickup and dropoff process is fast and easy never any issue.. The payless cars are very updated and reliable, the price is always affordable and the deposit is always given back as soon as you drop it off, no extra charges or fees.. I highly recommend them, been using them for the past 3 yrs everytime i travel and not 1 issue..

Terrible experience, I arrived 30 mins late because of a flight delay. I attempted to contact Europcar several times with no answer. Upon arrival I was told “we gave your car away because we didn’t think you were coming”.

Convenient location in an older building along with a fuel station and a car wash. the rental agent was very cordial and showed me the return location (was confusing) as the building driveway had tight clearances. Return equally easy since I understood where to go. Were given a cute Citroen C3 with a six speed manual trans which was comfortable, fun to drive, and offered plenty of space for the two of us. Five gold stars!

I loved the car loved the easy pick up and return of the rental car. The airport made it very self explanatory to get the car back with white letters on the road to direct you back to the rental car return. Made me smile. I had to extend my rental due to not finishing the work I came down for and the company made it very easy to extend.

Horrible - do not book with NextCar. They denied my car insurance because I was not the primary policyholder. I have full coverage insurance, so there was no logistical reason to deny it. The supplemental insurance cost as much as the rental itself. I was never told at the time of booking that I would be forced to use their insurance if I wasn’t the primary policyholder. I was only told so 24 hours out from my booking. I’m actively trying to get a refund for this.
