all the beds
Drink pricing and pillows were poor
good quality well layed out room
Loved using the pool and sauna facilities and fond the room spacious and comfortable I felt the price for bed and breakfast was much more than it needed to be. The add on for breakfast seemed alot in comparison with the price just for the bed.
Friendliness of the staff was excellent
Hotel well layed out and normally I'm sure with excellent facilities. We have stayed at your hotels twice in the last 14 days both times poor room quality has been rescued by excellent customer services. The room had just been refurbished and smelt strongly of tile adhesive. Housekeeping /maintenance had forgotten to return the TV and desk light. we were just told sorry -no offer of finding us a TV. Morning paper did not arrive.Hotels need to pay more attention to detail to compete with other chains
The views and grounds were lovely. The majority of the staff were very helpful, efficient and friendly particularly in the bar and reception. It is not too well sound proofed, our sleep was disturbed by banging doors and large groups of male golfers who were a bit too rowdy and inconsiderate of others.
Everything was excellent except for one thing --- the piloows were terrible!!!
Staff at the hotel were great. I wasparticularly impressed with the night porter who arranged a taxi for me to get back to the hotel when all other attempts failed. Very nice room with balcony.
Great Gym and Pool, Lovely location & Great Room. Inability to give us the correct room service breakfast (failed both times we choose to have room service instead of going down to breakfast!).
Polite and helpful staff, beautiful room, excellent food and facilities. Everything you should be entitled to expect from a 5star hotel.
I was upgraded to the Presidential Suite which is normally £1400 per night. Amazing hotel!!!!
Great customer service and attitude of staff Prob with hot water making tea lukewarm!
We were a little disappointed with our room - we stayed in the classic suite and have stayed in many 4 star hotels which have far nicer rooms.
We were celebrating our Silver Wedding - this was a last minute deal and we managed to secure a room for about 50% less of normal rate - on arrival the staff were attentive and after we told them about our Silver Wedding a small complimentary cake was left in the room. We had an automatic upgrade to i think a Classic Deluxe room, which was amazing. This is truly a 5 * hotel, and although only for one night - it lives up to everything described on their website - Amazing... The only thing i would say - is we were not told very much about the SPA facilities, it was a case of find out for yourself - but as we were only in the hotel for one night it wasnt really an issue.
Excellent customer care in every way. Always ready to help but not intrusive. Nothing
The breakfast was superb. Both food and service were exceptional. The room was dark. The weather was bad and therefore the light outside was poor, but I was unable to find a position where I could sit and read comfortably. There was not a light which I could sit under.
It was beautiful, clean and luxurious. The staff were very friendly & helpful. An added touch that they would park the car for you - made a big difference on a busy saturday. The food in the Simon Radley restaurant was lovely and the staff were great. We had a fab time.
The situation is ideal A little disappointed with 'The Brasserie'
The bed was awesome All good
The bar was nice and had a good atmosphere, and plenty of different beers to choose from. Very comfortable, and nice pool etc for relaxing. We stayed on a Friday night so the restaurant was closed which limited the eating options. We didn't want to have a dinner/dance, I get ill on boats, the pizza place was only for snacks and the bar was full, so we ended up having to eat in town.
fantastic restaurant and entertainment bedrooms a little dated but still an enjoyable stay
thought there may have been a bigger selection of hot food on breakfast buffet
the temperature in the spa/swimming pool was too cold.
i didnt like the fact that there was no air conditioning. the heat was overpowering and the rooms were too hot and stuffy to be comfortable
Excellent position for access to the city centre. Super leisure facilities.Excellent staff very friendly. Nice meals. Surprised that it is only 3 star deserves more. We were upgraded to a higher level room on arrival. Nothing
The canal cruise, the spa. Noise from traffic, no air conditioning
Very close to the city centre and all shops and amenities. Hotel pool and spa was extremely relaxing. Hotel very clean and was really pleased with the free upgrade for our wedding anniversary. Would definitely stay again.
Located close to the city centre, friendly staff and nice pool. The breakfast was also quite good, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We had a room on the side of the hotel facing the dual carriageway and it was quite noisy.
The Staff were very obliging and the restaurant service was excelent Lack of lounge facilities. During our pre-dinner drinks, We were asked to leave the residents lounge early Saturday evening due to it being reserved for the boat party. The other small lounge near reception was very crowded as was the bar area/football lounge
the way 2 staff chatted with a guest whilst others were waiting to be served. came accross as quite rude
to pay for carparking in there carpark when you have paid them over £300 to stay for to nights
nothing. did not like my stay at the hotel at all,to start with no room left in parking, the shower in our room was not good, the bar staff where not very nice and very expensive for what it is .will not be returning.
There was an air of unobtrusive efficiency Many of the breakfast plates were dirty!
location of hotel breakfast on saturday was poor - not enough food, poor service. had to sort ourselves out and after requesting items still did not gwet them. have filled in complaint to hotel as above
The hotel was kept to a very high standard and we were pleased with every aspect of it
Quality much like all in chain but staff very friendly and efficient, keen to please Nothing
the room was very noisey
Comfort of room.
Loved the cocktails!! Excellent bar staff. Good morning breakfast set us up nicely for a day's shopping Throughly enjoyed our whole stay
good staff nice big hotel
Convenient location, car parking available, good breakfast and generally good value. The hotel is old and "tired" and shows its age. But it was clean. Bathroom facilities could do with updating as could bedroom decor..
The Staff were generally very helpful. The decor is certainly querky but if anything too dark and depressing. It detracts from what could be a nice hotel.
breakfasts were excellent wide choice of dishes staff very helpfull romm was very clean
Good breakfast The cleaner left the rubbish bag on the chair after cleaning. Unable to get the WiFi working on my laptop
Beautiful hotel, lovely room, fantastic breakfast. Close to shops, great choice of bars and restaurants near by. Really enjoyed our stay. Downside's, Bath in our room was too short, could not lie down in it. The room although beautiful, felt a little cramped, to much furniture me thinks!
The location of the hotel handy for the train and a free bus to the centre was excellent. Breakfast was one of the best I've had. Hotel staff very friendly Our room was at the front of the hotel, this was very noisy thoughout the night and early hours due to taxi rank outside and parties leaving hotel
convenience for city centre and out of town journey The migraine-inducing carpet, especially on the stairs! Why do hotels DO this?
The welcoming staff and the warm friendly atmosphere. The room was clean and the food was very good Being charged £10 per day for car parking
The hotel and the staff The booking. It didn't appear on their systems at all. The question below, 'Would you book a hotel online again'. Yes I would, but probably not through your site.
We took advantage of a special offer which made the stay very reasonable. The food was excellent and the breakfast huge!
Friendly hotel, the Manager is helpful and kind. Reception - members of staff upon check-in and out were very friendly and helpful and kind. Lovely location and views and beautiful building. Room was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. Bed was very comfortable. Food was very nice. Corridor outside room was very very cold - but it was exceptionally cold outside and the room was comfortably warm mostly. Shower wasn't so good (not power shower and the water pressure was very low). Shower rail had came away from it's support (bottom) - needs maintenance. Service by Bar staff in the bar area could have been more efficient. Service at breakfast on the Sunday morning when it was busy, was poor. There were no laid tables when we got to breakfast at 9 am and no-one offered to do so for us - we ended up sorting our own table and crockery and wiping the table off from the previous diners. No-one offered tea or coffee, I had to wait until I could get someone's attention which took a while. When my tea arrived it was served without a jug of milk and I had to go over to a relative's table to use their'S. The buffet had run out of eggs and I had to get somone's attention in order to ask them to bring more eggs out.
Very comfortable in pleasant setting
we attended a wedding and from the moment we arrived we were given first class service. We had a great time....
The restaurant service was excellent, the dinner and the breakfast were both superb. We would have appreciated two pillows each, there weren't any spare in the wardrobe.
Room had a lovely decoration, warm, clean and good sized bathroom with plenty of hot water and in good working order. Staff were very helpful with any request. Breakfast was really good. Remote control for the tv did not work I did let staff know so that they could check and see if it was the batteries.
food was excellent, summer sizzler deal was great value for money.
Lovely room, clean, comfortable and with very good facilities. Excellent breakfast. Good value. Would definately stay here again.
staff very helpful and friendly. the restaurant food was very good though slightly expensive. the windows in the bedroom were very ill fitting and draughty.
The extremely attentive staff who made this hotel such a world apart from so called "posh hotels". Beautiful situation, close to Chester and yet in the middle of nowhere. One of my better choices. The other reviews have an element of truth regarding the requirement for updating the decor.
oasis of calm, spacious comfortable room, spacious bathroom, most friendly and helpful staff.
Staff were all friendly, ambience was excellent, beautiful peaceful grounds and hotel. The room windows must have been open for about a week, I spent the first hour of checking in killing all the mosquito's and flies in the room.
It has a great location, very fine restautant. In fact we wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel and its facilities.
The most Friendly service
-Very quiet place, although there were weddings - close to Chester - nice rooms the music in the dinig room, always the same or nothing, not professional
The hotelitself was lovely, well decorated adn luxuirous, the spa area was fantastic. We ate in the restaurant and the the service and food were both fab!
Breakfast was great .How nice to have a freshly cooked breakfast though new crockery urgently needed Stained cracked crockery every morning for breakfast,Leaking radiator,(reported but not mended in the three days we stayed) very dirty window ledges, carpet edes and doors hand/finger smudges on doors which did wipe away with a little effort, therefore one felt that the cleaning was below standard and not observed by management.
Very helpful staff, lovely atmosphere, good food, good sports facilities.
Quality hotel ,, great service from all the staff ...
Excellent location - 2 minute walk to the city centre. Room was amazing value for money - standard room would have been the equivalent to a luxury room in many hotels. Breakfast was delivered to our room free of charge. Will definitely stay there again.
Central location, new and modern Poor breakfast, pricey and limited parking
Very good location for shopping and to visit Michael Caines Restaurant Our original room was noisy, however the hotel were very good about changing room. The Michael Caines restaurant was cold and noisy from the Champagne bar next door. The food was excellent
The room we stayed in was very nice, very big and modern styling. The staff were very helpful and there was always somebody on reception if you needed them. The car park is alittle bit tight to drive around and the pillows were hard but there only little things to worry about.
Excellent room.Breakfast very good Trying to get in was difficult as was parking
Comfortables beds Reception area too dark
close to city with comfortable rooms excellent parking and a fantastic michael caine restaurant . staff very polite and helpful
Modern Friendly staff, the decor in exec room superb, minimalist and cool, next time will eat there, but a good hotel
Good value for money and very close to the town centre, ideal and convenient for Christmas shopping. The cook food for breakfast was very limited, just scrambled egg and sausages.
Convenient to town centre Bed Mattress needs changing Hollow in middle.!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent location to celebrate my friends 40th birthday Some contents were stolen from the boot of my car whilst in the car park
The welcome on arrival at reception. The quality of the Wi-Fi Broadband in the rooms and lobby. The no-nonsense breakfast fare. Lining up for the various breakfast items was a bit unorganised and free-for-all.
Willingness of staff to do extras - order taxis, keep suitcases etc
clean rooms, helpful staff, free parking. breakfast a bit of a free for all.
The location was ideal for shopping, short walk to the centre although quite steep if anyone is infirm the inconsideration of other hotel guests who have been out for the night and come back in the middle of the night along corridors being very loud and banging doors, perhaps a notice on all lifts and landing doors saying quiete please think of other guests !!!
Comfortable, clean rooms for a few hours sleep. Basic but exactly what would be required of a crash-pad. Only food available is breakfast. If you're hungry at any other time you only have a vending machine.
The locality and the car parking facility. None
Parking facilities and location to town center
Very friendly staff and good food. Lovely location. The room we were initially shown to had not been cleaned or made up. However, we were immediately upgraded to an executive room as recompense, so no real complaint there.
pleasant and friendly staff, clean and cosy room with amazing views
Only issue was the the internet was down for the first 2 days. We booked here specifically for this as we work while travelling and this was a problem for us.
We enjoyed the food and the rooms and thecountryarea, we weren't too impressed with the narrow roads for our big rental car. All told we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay
The staff, the setting, the meals were all excellent. Nice to have my dog able to join us in the hotel. I have no faults to find at all with the hotel
The rooms were lovely; really well decorated and very clean The complimentary breakfast was not very generous
Friendliness, excellent food and superb surroundings.
The ambience of the bar / lounge area. There was no where to relax after dinner as all areas were taken over by tables. Because of the wooden floors, it is noisy if you are located on teh ground floor. Carpets in the upstairs rooms would help.
beautiful setting & lovely rooms, furnished to the highest standard
Very pleasant surroundings. Nice food, comfortable clean room No, except that its a little confusing when you arrive to know where to find the reception area. We were charged for someone else's meals and stay instead of our own, however this rectified speedily oncec it was pointed out.
Manager and staff very friendly and helpful. Good quality breakfast. Shower screen in bathroom did not fit tightly enough to stop water leaking onto floor
The rooms are decorated superbly, with rich materials and colours. The facilities in the room are fantastic. The service is 'sopt-on' and the food is divine. The reception area is not clearly defined from the bar area. Another couple had access to our room - fortunately, whilst we were in the room.
Excellent bar, restaurant, room. Staff very helpful, friendly and attentive Mix up with key coding delayed check in which was a minor annoyance
doesnt live up to its 5 star rating. Very overpriced accomodation for an inn - booking in took place in the bar and girl had trouble find our reservation, which had only been made the day before. Have definately stayed in better places for alot less money room and having spoken to another guest and saw their executive room, we then complained and were moved another room, which was executive and what we had booked in the first place check in and location
Very comfortable room with lots of space and good views. Quiet location of hotel made it easy to relax. Obviously busy in bar and restaurant on Saturday evening confirming confidence in hotel. Toiletries not renewed after first night.
Had a most enjoyable lunch with friends. We all 3 chose different meals which were all served at the same time. I stayed on alone and found the staff very helpful and friendly While we were dining the bar was rather noisy. I don,t think the bar staff were aware how much noise it made when dropping empty bottles into container.
Very friendly staff. Lovely welcoming hotel with relaxing atmosphere. The only thing I would say is the mattresss in the room was to soft I seemed to roll into the centre as my partner was heavier.
Excellent room, over a very special pub. Food was excellent and a fine selection on wines and beers. None whatsoever
Friendly, welcoming staff with sense of humour. Good knowledge of local area and events. None
Great Hotel, wonderful, friendly and accommodating staff. Very high standard all over the hotel from the rooms to the service.
