Loved that they were able to accommodate us. When we booked the rental, it was for seven people. We didn’t realize there would be no space for luggage. The seven passenger SUV did not fit us nor our luggage. We asked if we could get a sprinter van and they said no, they didn’t have any in stock. We ended up with a 12 passenger van, which was more than enough space but not easy to get around in Aruba, and challenging to park. The staff at both check-in and return were very helpful and kind. We also assumed that when we put in the airport location that is where we would’ve been picking up the car however, the airport location sent us to a hotel that was a $60 cab ride away. Still don’t understand how that happened, but it all worked out, just way more expensive than we had originally planned.Reviewed Jul 21 2026

I went to pick up vehicle that I rented a month before get there they don’t have it. It says in the contract they would give me something similar I rented a 7 passenger van and all they had was a 15 passenger van that was way to big and that was my only choice between that and another huge van okay I understand if they don’t have my vehicle but to charge me an extra 46 dollars a day for something that was not my mistake is unacceptable so I had to pay an extra 400 that affects my finances for my family’s trip very unhappy and thrifty was absolutely no help at all needless to say I was furious I would love to talk to an actual human being not an aI generated person from thrifty they said it’s not their problemReviewed Jul 18 2026

Wasn’t so much the car but the company has been a nightmare to deal with. I hit a rabbit on the way home and I was NOT able to file an incident report no matter what I tried. The button for it would either not work OR I would be let to a page that said the link expired. I wound up having a $650 charge that I’ll now have to plead with whatever third party insurance thrust upon me to absolve. The entire experience of this has been nothing but hugely stressful on me and my finances. I can’t say I’d use kayak or hertz again in all honesty.Reviewed Jul 16 2026
