Accurate staff at reception. Excellent breakfast. Good bed.
The service was great and the hotel staff really paid attention to the details. The taxi arrangement was slower than I expected but was manageable.
convenince in distance to the station it was dated , the walls were dirty
Location was perfect Second time in Haarhuis and second time when our windows were extremely wet. Aircondition was on all night but didn´t help. Makes air in the room bad
Central location near railway station. Staff polite. Good buffet breakfast - wide variety and good quality. Hotel in shabby condition. Compares unvafourably with other 4* hotels. No better than 3 stars at best. Single rooms very small. Like stying in student hostel. First room strong smell of smoke despite being non-smoking. Second room acceptable for smoke smell. Same small size. Very small single bed which dipped in middle and very soft. Fabric of hotel showed signs of overdue refurbishment. Stains on walls, missing pictures with hooks still on walls, numerous tears in wallpaper and bashes and scrapes on walls and door frames.
The location was convenient to the station and inner city. The restaurant offered good meals at resonable prices and the breakfast buffet was well presented and offered a good variety. Service was friendly and efficient. I missed a small fridge in the room as well as a tea tray and kettle.
The staff were excellent It was too short!
very nice breakfast buffet bed too soft, too hot to be may
Excellent staff - very helpful and friendly
Close location to local town Undergoing refurbishment. Generally the hotel looked 'very tired'. Hotel lift was ancient,
Hotel staff very friendly Food is. Dry good Old hotel. Feel like an hospital
Very peaceful and relaxing. Good room; clen and quiet. Probably best suited to those with a car. Bus service is available quite nearby, but a few trips to ton can get expensive.
Great hotel, nice and quiet, bit out of town, hire very good quality bikes at hotel for cycling but beware of the few hills. Check out Beek in particular Hotel/Restaurant "Het Spijkertje" Little bit out of town but bus stops right outside the hotel (and runs to timetable unlike in UK!)
Helpfull and honest staff. Recovered mislaid documents which we had left in our room, and posted same to us in the UK
Excellent from start to finish
the breakfast is excellent, always good quality and plenty off. the pillow are awefull!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall the hotel was good value for money. The room service menu was extremely limited and you had to get the menu from the front desk - was not in the room.
Location, Well kept grounds, Comfortable. Good breakfast. No menus produced in restaurant for evening meal.
Setting noisiness from other rooms.
Nice and quiet, nice area
Easy to find. Friendly staff. Would stay again.
We came to visit the Airborne Museum and Cemetery at Oosterbeek and were pleased that we chose this hotel rather than stay in Arnhem. The location was good, rooms bright and fresh with comfortable beds. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent! The restaurant menu was expensive but 1015 mins walk takes you to alternatives. We were only staying 1 night and did not have time to use the facilities available - we will stay longer next time!
the breakfast and the price
Very friendly staff, good bed, good shower, good restaurant, good breakfast, easy parking, All in all excellent, the only monir detail: no hairdryer in the room.
Good service on some extra help we needed bij Mr. Marijn
Clean room, very good food, perfect localisation.
Very good breakfast buffet. My children loved the free internet access and playstation! Although we requested a non-smoking room, there was still a lingering smell of smoke in our room. The children's room was fine though.
low price for a hotel of its kind nice bar breakfast not so good
It was easy to access. Plenty of parking space. Nice restaurant and food. Room was comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
I did not like the layout of my room with the shower in the centre of the room between the toilet and the hand basin? The room was very cold and the temperature controller appeared to be preset at a setting which meant it was uncomfortable to sit and work. No minibar? insufficient desk lighting to work. For the cost, I do not think it was good value for money.
The beautiful view A terrible noise from the terrasse until 00.30, impossible to sleep. The hotel must turn down the ligt at 23.00 to give peace to sleep. For that reason we will never stay there again!!!
The Rijnview from the room was beautiful.
Location on the river Rhine. Double bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together.
Needs better lighting in room, especially a reading light
The friendliness of the staff. Excellent food and very comfortable rooms.Breakfast very good value for money. Good location.
Great views over the Rhine. Good breakfast - although not included in the price. Rooms were very clean and modern Two separate beds joined to form a double bed. Prefer a double bed. Hotel is a 10 min walk into the centre of town
The views from our room and the comfort of the room. Room service for coffee, a little slow.
Situated within walking distance of town centre Room smelt damp and fixtures were broken
Nice view of the river
The river view A good walk from the town though there were bus stops close by.
Friendliness of staff especially when organising a minicoach to take our group into Arnhem for the evening. I thought the beds were a little uncomfortable
The room was very nice, clean, and big. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The facilities were very nice.
In general the rooms were comfortable, staff friendly, wi-fi connection was good 1. The scrolled eggs for breakfast were the worst eggs I eve had - too hard and dry, 2. there were no comb at the reception, 3. there were no minibar, 4. the bed - instead of 1 big matrass on the bed there were 2 small ones (I hate it) - when I asked to change the room for the room with big bed (without overpaying)- they refused, just offered almost twice more expensive room.
Very nice hotel and location
Very nice and comfortable facility
Location was convenient to national park. Parking available. Pet friendly. Food in restaurant was good, but dinner menu is pricy. Confusing and not very clear on how to find rooms; elevator opens into a conference area. A hotel map near the main elevator would be useful or a sign pointing the direction towards rooms. Billed twice for one room for one night. Hotel was unresponsive in resolving billing error which they acknowledged at checkout. Based upon difficulty and frustration in resolving their billing error, recommend anyone visiting this hotel pay in cash. If a light sleeper, bring earplugs; conversations/noise from hallway is easily heard in rooms.
Good quiet location, good breakfast
peace and quite, good setting hire of bicycles a little expensive
the room looked clean, however, the rubbish from the previous user was shoved under the bed! the food in the resturant was horrible.
firendly personel, good service, access to hotel was excellent, food was good but as always could be improved
It's clean and not expensive.
location Breakfast was not included, and too expensive
Hot drink facility in room
Everything about the hotel was exellent. Very relaxing atmosphere, and extremely helpful and friendly staff.
The location is brilliant , next to the station . Hotel very clean , excellent staff & very good breakfast .
Very good breakfast. Everything is new now
Staff very friendly and the room comfortable.
The hotel is close to the station and the city center. Nothing.
no tea-making facilities in room
32 Euro for breakfast? Ridicilous price compared to spending 24 Euro on a three course meal at a local restaurant.
centre of Nijmegen, nice, old house thin walls, you can hear a lot from your neightbours
Location - in old Nijmegen shopping st. Toilet was in a very small cubicle & wash basin was tiny in shower area
Very nice rooms, good location. Awsome breakfest included!
The breakfast and the kindness of the people who worked in the Beans and Bagels café. The person in charge of the internet connection was kind enough to do some troubleshooting in the router configuration so I could use mi wireless with my laptop. That was very helpful and I appreciate it a lot. Only the pillows, which were too big and there weren't other to choose from. Also, the shower door dripped too much water when openned after a shower.
This is an observation, rather than a complaint. Room very small, as also the bathroom. Floors are wooden, so guests can be heard coming up the stairs and in their rooms. Extremely noisy. Stairs steep and narrow, so not recommended for less mobile guests.
The bathroom of the room had a plastic curtain instead of a door.
It's a nice place with friendly helpfull staff despite the rant below. really steep stairs (closer to a ladder than staris) which did not suit my mother who is 70 and not physically able to climb them. we were booked in for 3 nights. i offered to pay the first night as it was booked and try to find somwhere else. the manager charged the full amount and told it it was my problem as the web site says they have steep stairs (it doesn't by the way) didn't have enough money to find anoter place so pretty much had to carry mum up and down those stairs. Hope your proud of yourself Mr.Manager.
Excellent location in downtown Nijmegen. The room we were given was in a adjacent building in a calm side street. The room was adequate and clean and even cozy. Heating was adjusted after we asked for it. A very nice and more than sufficient breakfast was served in the Bagels & Beans café that operates the b&b. All in all a very simple but not unsympathetic place. This accommodation cannot be recommended for people who have trouble with stairs. The b&b is difficult to reach by cab as the street is pedestrians only. The room can only be reached through a steep and winding stairs. We had to carry our luggage upstairs ourselves. The bathroom and toilet (shared) are on another floor.
its location was very convienient as it is very close to the bus and train station , and it was clean expensive . very tiny small rooms. and poor lighting
Convenience, location, price, courtesy of staff The rooms are in a separate building to the 'office'. This is at the restaurant a few doors along the street. In principle there is nothing wrong with this. However, as I had to leave early, I paid my bill the night before. I left the keys in my room and then found that I needed to use the outer door key to exit the building - something I had not been told. At this stage I was unable to exit the building and locked out of my room. I could not get to the keys. This may seem funny but at 6.55 in the morning with a train to catch it was not! I managed to get another guest to get up early and let me out. I was lucky. In case of a fire and panicking people or any other emergency, it would not be safe.
great location. nice breakfast
The location and the breakfast.
The restaurant! The staff were very friendly and the food was priced just right and delicious. The ambience was perfect with candlelight dinner.
exceptional from all point of view: confort, facilities, friendly approach, restaurant, rooms and breakfast. more than great balance quality/price
Large clean room. The nice open balcony would be a great social area for groups to share.
The comfort of the rooms was excellent and the food imaginative and of a high standard The only difficulty was parking as there were so many business gatherings - but this just demonstrates how good the location is.
Large Motel in countryside. For a Motel very luxuary, nice breakfast
Easy to find...large parking area! Very poor lighting in the room!
Friendly and professional Surprise late evening menu change.Had we known of the reduced menu after 10pm we would not have unpacked our luggage thus arriving in the restaurant at 2201hrs! (At check in we were just told "open until 11pm")
situation, peaceful, excellent breakfast
The hotel is excellently situated for visiting the Oosterbeek battlefield areas of September 1944 (The Airborne Museum 'Hartenstein' is only a 10 - 15 minutes walk away). Although the Arnhem bridge is considerably further from the hotel bicycles and taxis are readily available from the hotel reception. Throughout our stay the staff could not be more polite and helpful. The rooms we very clean and of a good size (no tea/coffee facilities!) and I can recommend the buffet style breakfast, a real 'challenge' for those with big appetites!! I would definitely stay there again and would recommend the hotel to anyone thinking of visiting this historic area of Holland.
It is well-equipped, in a lovely part of the country, ideal location for exploring the countryside. Convenient for me to visit friends locally. Staff attentive and efficient. None
This was our third visit to this hotel, and we enjoyed it as much as ever. Enormous, comfortable bed, very welcoming and helpful staff and a super breakfast. The lounge areas are particularly inviting, well used and with a good evening atmosphere, where you can buy affordable food on the lounge menu if you want to avoid the higher priced restaurant. Perfectly located hotel for Oosterbeek and Arnhem, with a bus stop right outside. We hired bikes also, for 12 euros a day. We will definitely come again. There was a problem with the hot water one morning, but every guest was given complimentary bottles of wine and sparkling water as an apology. The water in the pool wasn't warm enough for us.
Standard 3 star hotel in nice location. Kind staff. no
reception staff were very helpful as were the restaurant staff. The setting in which the local is situate is very nice. food in restaurants was expensive
I came to The Netherlands to visit family. The day I arrived my sister-in-law and I spent many hours in your lounge. We ate lunch, had tea had drinks and snacks. Later my other sister-in-law joined us and then my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. It was very relaxing. It would have been easier if my room had been closer to my son's.
Excellent. Very nice hotel. Worth the stay.
Good value for money; feels like premium hotel for average price
I found the room spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff, on the whole, were excellent.
We found our family room very spacious, comfortable and clean and were very happy to have such a lovely room. The swimming pool was wonderful too. We will certainly be coming again.
Relatively new hotel. Nice large open reception and generous sized rooms. Beautiful restaurant and plenty of attentive staff.
Very new, clean, modern, pleasant hotel--suite with 2 bedrooms had nice balcony & view--for four people it was a super deal! Pool was rather small.
Lovely large family room and large bathroom. The connecting room for the kids was perfect! Very new and spacious hotel (open dec 2009). Good bar and good breakfast. The 3 room service that stood in the lobby looked completely out of place and some staff members need more service training and "smile" training
Near highway, good parking, spacey room Whirlpool didn't work. Bad (for make up) lighting above mirror in bathroom. Lift entrance wasn't clearly marked/noticeable (ground floor0.)
very quiet town
Arrived late at 23:30 and reception staff had everything prepared for our group to check-in. Went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
Good clean room, close to Nijmegen and the motorway A73. Everything was very clean.
good for money
Typical VanderValk: a well-oiled machine with all the facilities in place.
I liked the friendly staff, the food was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable, the cost was good value for money. All in all I cannot complain about anything and I will be booking again next Summer. Everything was perfect as far as I am concerned. I noticed that someone complained about having to cross the road to get to the rooms. I did not find this a probem at all. When I left your hotel, I went on to stay at the Sandton Pillows in Zwolle. Biggest rip off I have ever come across.
When booking, we requested a room in a specific part of the hotel and the result could not have been more accurate. The design of the corridor entrance door and those of the rooms means that they are difficult to close quietly. This results in the general noise level being quite high.
Nice clean rooms. Had to cross the road to get to the restaurant, which was expensive.
staff helped with breast feeding milk that needed to be stored and accesssed Room was next to a lift and stairs, hence slept badly. First day breakfast was insufficient (everything was gone and not replaced). No minibar for storing breast milk.
Room was excellent, breakfast very good
nice place inside the wood no cooking facilities for tea..., bath needs renovation, very small TV, expensive W-Lan access, old and dirty towels
very nice enviorment, and very good hotel in the forrest. I like the trees there and the foutain and the fresh air. a good place for a weekend stay!the staffs are nice! the bed is too soft, can't sleep well. the lift is broken so luggage can't fit. and the apparatus seems a little bit out dated.
scrambles eggs in the morning, never seen so perfect in any hotel!
Very nice room, nice staff, and situated in a lovely area.
The hotel is sitated on a beautifull place, very close to center of Nijmegen. Very relaxing atmosfere after hard work.
the restaurant, verry good dinner and enjoyable breakfast the rooms are enough big but dark colours and didnt look like 4 stars hotel!
the location is ver nice close to the woods for a nice walk the sauna was verry small just one cabine
i have stayed at hotel erica before, it is close to the town, but the location makes you feel as if you are miles away
High standard, helpful staff, superb breakfast Expensive bar prices
the hotel has re-furbish and the room was excellent. the spa is very relaxing and really enjoyable. only a 5 min cab ride to the centre of the city. we really enjoyed our stay and will be going back.
Nature outside is wonderful, close to 52 degrees building, nice comfort rooms, good beer in the bar, however restaurant is a bit of expensive. But no choice, there's no restaurants around.
We were there for a concert at Goffertpark and the hotel was at an ideal location, just ten minutes walking distance from the concert grounds. Of course, the spa center and the mineral springs made our stay more pleasurable. By the way, as a comment on an earlier guest review, the carpets in our room were recently renewed.
Staff and facilities were especially welcoming
Politeness and friendliness of staff None
Food is always excellent if it arrives and the spa is a great way to unwind after a busy day. The building and grounds are very pleasant. The struggle to get food, even as room service, when arriving at 10pm. Being charged for items that were untouched. Very slow checkout. I'll try not to come back.
quite sterile environment, with at this time of the year almost empty
Friendly staff, spotless refurbished room, and Goffert Park festival area at walking distance:-) nope
Nice hotel, spacious rooms, comfortable balcony. Wireless internet works well. Very nice spa, good breakfast buffet Beds are too hard and the pillows soft.
The room was just redecorated and it looks good. The breakfast is extensive and the food is good. The mattress was too hard and the pillow too soft.
The room is very big and the hotel staff was very friendly. The breakfast wasn't as high standard as expected.
The surroundings were beautiful and we very much enjoyed walking in the woods. Receptionist was very friendly. Our evening meal was disappointing - my husband's steak was so raw it was purple (he asked for medium) and my fish course was very salty and strongly fishy. Also, the beds and pillows were not comfortable and we could hear our neighbours in the adjacent room.
comfortable large modern room with exelent view parking lot accross hotel's rather busy street
Nice location. Freindly Staff. All spoke very good English.
Great style and design, great breakfast, excellent beds. A good place to stay for a great price.
Great staff and good food Still not sure about the lighting in the room - what's wrong with a simple light switch for the white lights! Although once you've worked it out the two remotes it is good fun!
The staff were very helpful and friendly. And the rooms were very stylish but havinmg the car park across the road was an inconvenience and for a hotel of this standard why are there no coffee / tea facilities in the room?
It was an amzing stay - Hotel and restaurant were fantastic - very helpful staff and a really "cool" "happening" feel about the place......I would compare to Malmaison over here on wow factor. Owner Sander and his wife were very hospitable. No lift we were on top floor. A few drawers would have been good for undewear etc as we were there for 4 nights.
We booked last minute, so we paid less for a very very nice suite. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent, very well presented and the price range suited all budgets. No free parking. Parking is only available at nearby public parking garages.
Great design hotel without losing the warm welcome of a small hotel! The fact that every room had a computer with a very good musical selection is a must! Breakfast is amazaing with an always helpful staff!
Beautifully refurbished building, wonderful stylish & luxurious room, good attention to detail & friendly, attentive staff.
This hotel was fantastic the rooms are very inspiring and well thought out. The bath right next to the bed is a nice touch and the rain shower is a gentle wake up, prior to the lovely breakfast that we were served. All in all it was a very pleaseant stay with a little bit more than i expected when first booking.
Funky boutique design. Sander provides a great, friendly welcome and his staff follow suit. The rooms are excellent and inspired.
This hotel had a Wow factor. Recently opened with a very modern appealing style. Free internet and your own iMac in the room with a wide selection of music etc. Great bed, better than my own at home! And a great continental breakfast. I am already recommending this hotel to friends and family and will definitely stay here again.
Perfect service and attention to all our requests. Spatious room, nice design. Current design requires the bath in the room, you have to like this.
It's a small luxery hotel with only 6 suites. Allthough it was very busy because of the Vierdaagse, hotel staff was very friendly and helpfull.Nice detail: Apple with free internet in all the room available.
The rating was incorrect and the general standard was awful. With noise at night and dorrs damaged where they have been kicked in!
The location was convenient for us. Breakfast may improve.
Location,Silent Beds totally uncomfortable Breakfast poor
I was upgraded to one of the few renovated rooms because of a faulty tv. This room was very nicely decorated, expect ally the bathroom, the wifi worked well and there was a good choice for breakfast The room I had initially been allocated was in need of renovation, dated decor mouldy bathroom etc. the problem with the new room was the temperature, as the upstairs neighbour turned on the heating the radiator pipes in my room were boiling hot. They were also making a lot of noise. And the duvet added further to the uncomfortable temperature, the material it was made of is more suitable for the arctic than for the. Netherlands
Absolutly nothing The restaurant was bad, and breakfast too
This hotel was great value and very clean, with a nice bathroom. Although the decor was slightly dated it was very comfortable. The beds were comfy, although we didnt have a double bed, and there was a TV with some english channels! The bathroom and shower were nice too! the staff were nice, with one particular lady in the bar who was really lovely and very helpful giving advice about what to do.The hotel was in a good location, with just a 10/15 minute walk to the city center. The Breakfast was nice, typical continental breakfast but absolutely not worth paying €15 for, plus they did not ask for my room number either time that I went down. The decor was a bit old style but very clean so I cant complain! There was not much to do in Nijmegen on a Sunday but that wasnt the hotels fault. They did have bicycles to rent for €11 each for the day, but it was raining :(. and the 'deluxe rooms' do not have a double bed, they have two twin beds. You pay €20 extra per night for the upgrade.
Easy access and short walking distance to the city centre.
Location, clean room The hotel needs a renovation badly for this name, for this price, and for the 4**** stars. I have felt like in an old movie from the early 80s.
The room was big. It ıs not up to 4 stars standard. The breakfast could have been better.
quite, location close to city centre, easy to find, excellent breakfast, free hotel parking
Our deluxe double room had been upgraded to a suite. This made an excellent base as we were visiting our son who is studying at Raboud University. The lighting in our accomodation was very minimal. Plenty of table lamps but little main lighting.
