Centrally located and very pleasant surroundings
The hotel room is newly renovated. It located very close to the Train Station (within 10 minutes walk) and the shopping centre (within 3 minutes walk) of Tours.
Style of the hotel especially the bedroom. The availabilty of the garage eas a bonusu No
The location was just where we needed to be. The front desk was very professional and helpful.
Location is central: close to the railway station, but far enough not to hear and see those people grouping near the station. Also very close to tourist office, old town and Hotel de Ville (just in front). The room was great - spacious, with a comfortable sofa in front of tv, a desk, enough room to even have a morning gymnastics)). It was very quiet which is definitely a plus! Beautiful lobby. The price af breakfast 18 euros is too high.
Great staff. Great location. Seems to be run down and needs a face-lift internally.
Location is fantastic, and the hotel staff friendly and helpful
Very easy to find - great location. Very nice staff.
Staff - very friendly and helpful
The hotel is right in the centre of Tours so very convenient for sight-seeing, restaurants and shopping. It is also close to the train and bus stations. It was clean and comfortable. Parking is very limited - there is a public carpark nearby but it was very full and we were lucky to get a space. The room we had was comfortable but being at the top of the hotel, it was dark with only one small window - a draw back on a sunny day.
Superb staff - some of the friendliest I´ve encountered. Breakfast finished at 10; restaurant closed on sundays (!)
Nice hotel, very easy to find and convenient. Staff pleasant and good parking The air conditioning wasn't working
The hotel is located not far from train station and a short walk away from the town centre which is great
Excellent breakfasts and very helpful staff, especially the receptionists The shower tended to spray over the bathroom floor.
Found the hotel very central with easy access to tourist office shops and restaurants. found directions to hotel not quite exact it would have been handy to know that the train station was beside the hotel & would have been much easier to find. Tea and coffe facilites in the room would also be a great idea.
The great location to the city centre and near Tours railway station. The staff was helpful and free use of the internet.
Good hotel with reasonable price. Very nice breakfast, close to the train station.
Helpful staff with onward booking confirmation etc. Street noise from apartments opposite, so we had to use double glazing to sleep
Very good rooms and breakfast. Do not be put off as you approach the hotel because it looks small and in a back street. It is actually large and in the heart of the city (5 mins walk). Would love to go back to Tours and would definitely stay here again. Watch the car park - it fills up and space is very tight for manoevering - be first in and last out :)
Our room was warm, quiet and comfortable. The hotel was in a side street very close to the station, but not affected by noise from it. Being on the fourth floor, there was a small balcony in the mansard; although the view was only of roof-tops, this might have been beneficial in warmer weather. Access to the lift was easy, and there was a spacious reception and breakfast area. There was a wide range of choices at the buffet. The dark decor in the room would not be to everyone's taste. Be warned - we were unable to use the underground car-park because of the restricted headroom. On enquiring, we were told that it was 2m, but our vehicle at 1.97m certainly would not fit, and so we were obliged to feed a fairly greedy parking meter a short walk from the hotel.
convenience and location bathrooms could be a little fresher
Good location and helpful staff The dining / breakfast room has seen [much] better days. Go out for breakfast and find a nice boulangerie /cafe.
Well located, beautiful view of the whole town and of the cathedral from our bedroom window.
it was close to main shoping area and the old town, staff were helpful, but we still had a language problem. our room was on the small size, we expected larger as we were staying 4 nights. it is a small hotel, as a result there was very little guest activity, also it is a nice walk from the railway station.
Difficult to find for tourists not familiar with the city.
Just about everything, but in particular the friendly and helpful staff, the character of the hotel and its location. One thing: although our room was pleasant, comfortable and had a lovely view, the location of the toilet in a 'cupboard' right next to the bed (rather than in the bathroom, as is usual) was not really acceptable.
Staff were very welcoming, the hotel was ideally located and very comfortable Parking was not easy at the moment as building works are taking place especially as a charge of 10 euros was made, also the breakfast was fairly ordinary
friendly and helpful staff. information readily given.
The location, comfort, cost and assistance offered by staff
Staff were extremely friendly and helpfull. Checking in and out was simplicity itself. Staff were very knowledgable about places of interest and restaurants etc. Breakfast charges were quite high per person when a local cafe/bar could provide the same for a quarter of the price.
Free upgrade to a superior room (very large and spacious!)! We assumed that since we booked through Booking.com that we would get one of the few rooms that have not been re-done - but when we checked in, the courteous staff informed us that we had been upgraded to a superior room - which turned out to be the largest room in the hotel - quite nice! For 77,20 euros, we stayed in an excellent room, with a booking that included the 12 euros per person breakfast - excellent! Slight difficulty parking...the hotel is in the same square as the train station, and being a busy city, the parking for the station was full. We ended up parking in another structure about a 8 minute walk from the hotel - same price as advertised though (8 euros for 24 hours).
the staff were very helpful in all respects. a bigger business centre and a gym would have been nice!
The wifi connection was very poor for the price paid
The location and friendly, helpful nature of the staff. Not a thing.
Very central location, being only meters from the train station. No
Nice hotel, convienient location city centre parking, TGV station, good food, nice staff - Internet WiFi did not work, (we were working, so important) otherwise excelent The WiFi, should have worked - they could fix that. Otherwise it was the best.
Had an excellent stay; friendly staff; excellent breakfast No canal plus
The central location of the hotel
I felt the whole experience was positive and the staff pleasantly unobstrusive . Dearth of english language tv.
Friendliness of staff. Size of rooms were enormous! Good breakfast in pleasant surroundings
Staff was very friendly, it had a lift, which was handy with luggage, room was spacey, & comfortable.also, well located. Nothing!
Friendly staff who spoke English and its close location to city centre. Bathroom facilities adequate but not easy to have a shower as bath did not have a shower screen or curtain to stop water flooding bathroom floor.
20 minute walk to the old town. Room old but clean and comfortable. Ample street parking. Receptionist could speak english - but chose who she used it with! No tea or coffee facilities in room.
The hotel is just 10 mins walk away from the train station and very near to the Tourism Information Centre. The room is big for european standard. Clean and very confortable. Free Wifi included makes it very convenient for communications. Everything is up to my expectation.
large clean room-manageres helpful providing maps of area - english spoken.
I booked two rooms for 4 nights - one for my husband and myself, and a single room for our friend. The staff were extremely helpful. The rooms were simple, but comfortable. The location on a boulevard with a beautiful tree-lined central walkway was excellent - in walking distance of the Gare, the Tourism Office, and the beautiful Cathedral.
great central location, very clean rooms and bathrooms, good size! overall very pleasant. the water pressure kept alternating in the shower.
Location - more or less in City centre nothing
Excellent location - close to the city center and the railway. Very comfortable room. Excellent value for money Internet services way too expensive for nowadays (when such services should already be like TV or radio).
Excellent location, right near the main railway station, and a very modern, comfortable room. The breakfast was over-priced and we only ate there once.
The hotel has a great location! Very close to tgv station, and to the center of the city. The bedroom is big and confortable. The bathroom is very clean. Love it! The staff was not very helpful with our difficult to park our car ( $e 10/day), and it was hard to comunicate in english.
The chef special evening meal was excellent value, and tasted good as well. The staff in the resturant were also very friendly and attentive.
It's situated just in front of the train station.
The location is great, right by Hotel the Ville Room was a little too small, though comfortable
Location is good and easy to find. Compared to big city's hotel is cheap. Both the night shift and morning shift staff are not really nice and friendly, that is Dec 22nd night and Dec 23th morning. Room is not really designed for 3 people stay, they just added an small bed at the conrner.
The hotel was very clean and in an excellent location. Staff were friendly. The room was nicely decorated. The lack of a lift is a pain. Did not like the absence of tea-making facilities and a waste bin in the room. Towels were thin and small.
Room was a good size. The hot water did not always work first time, and there is a disco open until 5am next door ( not Monday's)
Stayed 4 nights at various stages on our trip around the Loire Valley. The hotel is in a great location close to the nightlife, shops and restaurants of Tours. Be warned at weekends there is a nightclub located close by and the music can be heard somewhat in some of the rooms. Avoid Room 15/16 on a friday or saturday night. The girl on reception advised of this when we arrived. She was also very helpful when i explained I had some alergies. Our first room was on the very top floor and is a bit of pain due to no lifts to carry bags upto. The second room we has was Room 9 which has a nice position overlooking the square and its very quaint. We did not have the breakfast so cant commment. I would recommend this hotel to other people Small things No coffee/tea making facilities in the room and for some the music on weekends might be offputting.
Located in the center of the city, near the riverside you can explore Tours very easily. The hotel has rooms with windows directly to the place de la resistance, which can be very noise during the whole night, especially on saturdays and sondays.
Excellent location and pleasant room The bed was not comfortable and there was intrusive music noise until the very early hours of the morning from a nightclub within the same building complex - to minimise this, ask for a room that faces into the square, although the square can also be noisy too. Ideal for people who sleep heavily or have heavy duty earplugs. The reception desk has limited opening hours which is inconvenient for left luggage and the room servicing times are variable. Don't be deceived, the web-site offers no discount to rack rate.
The position was great, near to all the tourist places of intrest with plenty of eating places near the hotel. The cold shower, had several attempts but never got anything but freezing cold water.
The location is very good. Very near all the transport links and parking (On meter) was outside
this hotel was pleasant and clean with good stuff. but the rate is high compare to hotel facilities.
It is in a very good position near the railway station and the congress center. Some of the hotel staff was not very helpful and was not speaking well the English language. Also, a lot of noise of people walking the stairs and inside the rooms could be heard due to the old wooden floors.
Charming, extremely clean, attention to the details : linen quality, chimney..
Excellent location near city centre and very good secure parking. Rooms recently refurbished. friendly staff and adequate breakfast
The friendly staff and the room: quality/price ratio absolutely high, i wonder why it has been given only two stars...
Good location, clean room, helpful staff.
Usual level of room - on the upper end of basic, but great value for money. Coverlets on beds are starting to 'look' a bit dated - although not actually dirty.
very clean and tidy the drinks bar did not open during my stay - therefore had to go offsite for refreshment
A comfortable, good value hotel with helpful staff, and an excellent location for exploring the city.
The Location and the availability of garage parking
Value for money (room & breakfast), bathroom and toilet recently renovated, heating and air conditioning working well, silent room despite 1st floor facing the road. Beds didn't have duvets and we were unsure if the linen was changed/washed.
reasonably priced no air conditioning
The location is excellent, parking at 7 Eur/day is nerby
The location, comfort (clean and ventilated as we asked) and price. Nothing.
Position in Tours excellent, Very helpful staff, Very clean and well presented throughout.
Beautiful Hotel, close to the city center, Friendly staff, loved the coffee machine they had really good coffee and it was a great price.
Excellent location within walking distance to old town, shopping, rue colbert (restaurants).
This is a very nice small hotel (although it cost the same as the Grand Hotel Poitiers which is in a different class). The man on reception was very helpful although he spoke rather rapidly which made directions rather hard to follow. Tour has an 'interesting' one way system which could cause the driver and map reader to become somewhat stressed.
The managers were very friendly and the room exceeded our expectations
The hotel is perfectly situated between the cathedral and the old town of Tours. It has recently be renovated and satisfies all the needs of a 3* hotel, it is really worthed more stars. The perfect place to stay and staff was very helpfull.
It was very clean, well designed, comfortable and the staff were very welcoming. We were surprised to see it has just one star, but the fact it has no lift may account for that.
The hotel is within walking distance of the train station, a huge plus! On your way you pass the Tourist Bureau for Tours, France, so you can get info before you even get to the hotel. Lovely staff; who were very helpful in booking a first-rate truly fabulous well-known local restaurant for dinner (La Ruche, which means The Beehive). Breakfast was very nice; I recommend that future guests do have the 7.5 euro breakfast. it was really great, no complaints at all.
stayed in the larger room. new, clean. good value and worth the few dollars more for the bigger room. good breakfast. internet available.
It was located within easy reach of the old city but close enough to the modern are that walking into each area was quick
The location, the room and first of all the kindness of the managers everything was very good
The rooms where spacious, modern and immaculate. A short walk to a huge host of restaurants and attractions.
Great location, great decor and lovely bed. Better than pretty well every 2 star hotel we stayed in during our 2 week trip. Should definitely be more than one star. ... no lift, but no big deal.
The staff were very approachable, friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good as well. The location was excellent for finding it coming in from the motorway.
The breakfast was delicious with lots of options and friendly service.
Great breakfast, comfortable bed, safety Very hard to find
very good location, very clean. Good value for money. Nothing
Good hotel, very central. Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast, albeit rather pricey. Bathroom has only hand held shower and very narrow tub. Parking extremely difficult.
Perfect location, lovely helpful staff, comfortable room for one or two night stay, good breakfast, the best kind of really French small hotel. You need to be a confident driver to park your car!
Yes, the floorboards from the rooms above us made incredible noise - no good when trying to get to sleep, no hot water one morning, staff could only say this isn't normal and didn't attempt to fix. Kettles not provided but limited amount available to borrow. Lastly parking limited and very squashed.
The hotel is quite small and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The Patron even speaks English! Breakfast is excellent. We had no problems at all despite the external refurbishment work. We would stay there again soon but they are solidly booked for the coming month.
Stayed one night and can fully recommend. The room was very quiet and tidy, bathroom (and the room itself) was spacious compared to any other 2 star hotel I've stayed in, and the reception was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.
l The only downside of this hotel is the parking, which is a tight squeeze. Street parking can difficult at certain times of the day.
Good standard & staff very helpful. Parking depends on whether there is space so can be a problem otherwise clean centrally based and would use again Trying to find it with the sat nav.....
Good location; close to major attractions in Tours. Internet service only works in lobby.
heplful & friendly staff. very large comfortable room with large ensuite bathroom/shower/washbasin attached. Also toilet/washbasin ensuite area as well. beds made & linen & cleaning each day. Very good breakfast arrangements, alarm calls when required. basic clean. Hotel could present itself better. Bare, drab uninviting entry area, reception desk badly presented. large bare workroom on right of reception should not be visible. Small lounge room dark, unattractive, not welcoming.Stairs too dark, should have constant lighting. The entrance gave the impression of walking into a garage workshop, not a hotel.
We chose the hotel for location and for rate. Staff was very friendly, but a little more knowledge of English would have helped. Our room was big, we could choose between 3 beds. Hotel needs renovation/refurbishment. Bathtub etc were worn-out (probably from 1960's). Wallpaper in bathroom was starting to come off. Rooms not thoroughly cleaned after previous occupants.
Location excellent, staff friendly, early check-in available, lovely old building but very modern bathroom! It's a little noisy because you are in a city in the hub of the tourist zone - a small price to pay.
Big, clean room with tv and hairdryer. NIce bed. The shower is a bit small.
good breakfast, helpful owners mould in shower / bathroom, street noise overnight, peeling paint on ceiling, architecturally the room was great but it needed redecoration
The bed was reall comfortable, the breakfasts were great and the owners were very helpful at all times Initially the staircase and the size of the room were a bit of a worry, and we had trouble finding the hotel
Romantic charming large rustic hotel room, had 2 huge lovely windows looking out onto sweet old rustic building in a quiet little street. Even staircase is original & creaky but charming. Bathroom basic but renovated. Very old world traditional feel & comfortable. Dont bring heavy suitcase as youll be lugging it on old style staircase
Reception were helpful. Location was very quiet especially as was very central. Could park car under hotel. The bathroom was very small and pretty basic with only plastic sliding door.
the style of the room and the situation that is so closed to the train station the bathroom was quite old
Good location. The antique furniture was amazing
I thought that the hotel was very reasonable for its price: the staff was courteous, it had an elevator, and the rooms came equiped with an ensuite, wifi, and television. Plus, it had an ecclectic feel with the unique keys and tempermental doors. The rooms were slightly small, and cramped (particularly the toilet and shower), but otherwise it was a good hotel.
The location of the hotel to the Rail station (Gare) was perfect, not even a 5 minute walk. In the same square as the Station. The staff were very friendly and helpful and didn't mind speaking English for us. Hotel although oldish had a lot of period character. Would stan again. The shower was a gbit difficult to access.
Excellent position across from the Railway Station & centre of the City/Town
Close to town, large rooms We booked two rooms, one had a balcony and a big bathroom, the other had one tiny window and a small plastic bathroom in the corner. The rates were the same for two very different rooms. The staff did not speak any english, and were rude. There was no option to not be disturbed, we asked not to be and were laughed at and told that the manager inspected all the rooms with no exception. Street noise
nice area Poor room condition, no car park, a bit dirty.
The room was comforatble and very clean. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The location was good The only thingis I feel there should be sign posts directing youto the hotel if your driving into the city.
The hotel was in a great location, it was old and the staff didn't speak much or no English but were always friendly and you eventually worked it out A little bit expensive for what you got
The family atmosphere and the clear commitment to service. In addition, the hotel is wonderfully located in the very center of Tours.
