Vergennes Hotels

I loved the location and the staff. It looked like something out of a movie as we drove up to it. It seemed secluded yet close to any accommodation needed. Everyone was so nice and more than willing to help while we were there.

It was a little hard to find a parking spot closer to our entrance but it wasn't a major inconvenience for us.

We frequent the area and always use Priceline to book our rooms at The Essex Resort and Spa. Rooms are all very nice. They are spacious and very comfortable. The staff has always been wonderful! In-house restaurants superb and reasonably priced. Desserts!

Bathroom was tiny

We were upgraded without any request to do so.

The inn was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff were extremely friendly and eager to please. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Very friendly staff & very accommodating. Room was spacious, clean, private and nice and quiet.

Wish the restaurant had more breakfast choices but what was offered was fine and covered all bases.

Nothing comes to Mind

It's a best western so it's the typical room with breakfast in the morning. There were so many kids in the breakfast area it was a bit hectic!

The continental breakfast was nice. The hotel is very clean.

We requested a crib for my 8 month old. We could not use it.

the staff was most helpful and mindful of my chemical sensitivity and needs. the lady who checked me in even helped remove a chair and sofa cushions that smelled of febreze, and it was 12am and really cold. excellent service!!!

the door to the room didn't lock the first night when i left and was open when i returned (room 914)... thankfully, because of the location, no one was the wiser and nothing was disturbed.

The inability to apply a discount code I was told would be honored.

Reasonable price, free wifi.

(Note the hotel's fault). $100 deposit until the room is checked for damage.

The bathroom was cramped, and the free breakfast was not good.

There was no night table next to one side of the bed; there was no reading light on the outer side of the bed. When I awoke in the middle of the night and wanted to read, I had to disturb my husband by turning on the light on his side of the bed.

The elevator is small & slow.

The only really good thing I could say about it was a good price. Also having a fridge was nice.

Having to pay for parking in a shady parking deck...thumbs DOWN!! Wi-Fi not included...thumbs DOWN Television channel selection very poor. Room could have been cleaner.

Great room and really nice common areas, great service, and great location.

The only thing we hated was the room smelled like a smoker had lived there for 30 years, reeked of smoke, and never went away. The room was fantastic though i regards to view.
