Pros: The owners are very welcoming, the single room I had was bigger and better equipped than many double rooms I have stayed in. The whole place had a very homely feel and was very comfortable. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: We finished the c2c cycle route and turned up at the Hilton with muddy bikes and dripping wet as we cycled in monsoon style rain at the end - that wasn’t a problem for the Hilton. They took our bikes and stored them in the luggage storage room and we really really appreciated it! The staff were super friendly. The room was really comfy and we enjoyed dinner in the downstairs restaurant. We would recommend the hotel to stay in Sunderland. Excellent price for what you get!
Cons: The torrential rain.

Cons: I had the single bed in the room and it wasn’t the comfiest x
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly warm welcome from Stuart, who not only cooked me a lovely breakfast but gave me very useful tips about local transport and turned what was a potentially slightly stressful experience (I needed a B&B in a hurry because the friend I was supposed to be staying with was suddenly unwell) into an absolute delight. Everything else - the comfortable and very quiet room, the brilliant value for money, the location within walking distance of the river and with easy access to the Metro - was great, but what really made the experience was the personal touch. I'll be recommending Durham House to any friends who need accommodation in the North East!
Cons: Nothing, really!

Pros: Excellent facilities. Room was fantastic and spacious. Highly recommend
Cons: Nothing to dislike at all
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast choice was good for the "hot" breakfast. Nice lay out and easy to help yourself. The staff were wonderful they never stopped during the service.
Cons: The cold breakfast items were very limited to cereal and I am sure they were not branded cereals. The fruit segments of Orange and Pineapple, and a mixture was strange, there was no Grapefruit which I would expect for breakfast. The pastries didn't look nor taste very nice. They were very dry inside. I would recommend using branded products and having grapefruit for breakfast in the future.
7.7 Good
Pros: we stayed here for our wedding night and staff upgraded us to the honeymoon suite free of charge and we had breakfast delivered to the room! This really made our wedding day thank you so much to the staff at the Sunderland Marriott.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Location of hotel

Pros: Well appointed room, nice sea view, but on the small side for a Marriott - and one of the smaller rooms in this hotel

Pros: Whole experience was very positive. One of the best hotel stays I've ever had.

Pros: Location
Cons: The NOISE in the TOILET. Strange Huge noise. Never seen this system never heard this in my life. The moment water tap is opened or toilet flush is pressed or while bathing, the water pump starts, making huge noise, which is very disturbing for individual and when you are staying with family or friends, the other one outside the toilet hears the huge noise and the sleep is disturbed completely. This property should REMOVE THIS HUGE NOISE making system.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was okay and a lovely king size bed
Cons: Nothing o tell
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked the large comfy bed, the iron and ironing board. A good size room. The large tv. The complimentary toiletries.
Cons: I did not like the smelly mildew stained shower curtain. The smell was obvious as soon as I entered the room. The shower itself was of poor quality and would not sit properly on the holder. The bar closed at 11pm and the coffee machine was switched off at 9.30 pm.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here on more than one occasion for the convenience of the surrounding area. You get a feeling of safety in this hotel as there is always someone in reception. Excellent for parking with lots of spaces.
Cons: It was a little cold in the room and you could not turn the heating up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, lovely staff, good atmosphere. Lots to like.
Cons: Poor quality morning coffee, very weak in cafetière, poor internet speed.
7.9 Good
Pros: Asked for a quiet room and was given one way at the back of the hotel - which suited me fine, nice and quiet and able to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast was quite good - fresh poached eggs every morning and plenty of coffee.
Cons: Rooms are very small. No safe, no mini-bar and the actual main bar seemed to shut at 11pm very promptly. Some of the breakfast buffet was a bit tired - e.g. fairly rubbish fruit salad as a fruit option, which I think could be better for £14.99 - though, again, the hot food for breakfast was good. Not really a negative as all the hotels would be the same here but note that you _will_ need a car, or a fairly generous budget for taxis.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was great with a huge car park, it was lovely and clean. There was such a lovely touch with the house keeper leaving a little note on the pad of paper wishing us a lovely stay, really nice gesture. Would definitely go back!!
Cons: I live in the countryside so I am not used to any road noise and you could hear it vaguely from the room (on the road side of building), but it wasn’t horrendously loud.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bed
Cons: TV not working Cold room
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Ideal location for us being just off the A1. Rooms clean and comfortable. We arrived late after a long day at a gymnastics competition and restaurant were great at accommodating us. The chap who dealt with us was very friendly and chatty, and dealt with our requests with no problem.
Cons: Person who checked us in said I hadn’t included my child on my booking, which I had, and I had an email confirming that I had put 1 adult and 1 child (age10). He then asked if I had booked it through booking.com to which I said yes and he said well that’s why it’s not showing. His attitude wasn’t great and it’s not really the customers fault if booking.com are not sharing information with the hotel!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent, the room decoration was quite dated but OK.
Cons: The main carpark is very small and the hotel is generally quite dated.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The food was good quality Breakfast was great Staff very helpful
Cons: Everything was fine
