6.0 Good
Pros: The location is good.
Cons: This hotel was recently remodeled but our room was in disrepair. I’m not sure this hotel will be habitual in a year or two if it’s degrading at this rate. We also had someone’s dirty wet washcloth in our bathtub and soap was on the fl
9.0 Excellent
Cons: I didn't appreciate having to pay $5 a day to park in the hotel parking lot. Downtown Utica is absolutely dead. There's no reason to charge hotel guests for parking, even at the nominal rate of $5.00.

Pros: easy check in
Cons: parking was a bummer. bar restaurant closed early no vending
7.0 Good
Pros: Good room, lobby, restaurant. It looks like they put a lot of money into a remodel

3.8 Mediocre
Cons: First card key did not open room door. Television didn't work. Corridor stank of curry (I like curry, but not as an overpowering odor in a hotel). No glasses in the room to pour a drink into.
7.5 Good
Pros: Went out to breakfast. I usually do not eat breakfast only coffee
Cons: The hallway carpet needs to be replaced
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: There were no other choice.
Cons: The smell, no breakfast dirty
4.3 Okay
Cons: There was no food available on the property or nearby. The rooms were outdated and there was dirt on top of fixtures and in corners. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling as well as water damage.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked that the room was clean and quiet. Everything in the room worked and the beds was very comfortable.
Cons: I didn’t like that the motel was like 20 mins from the area we visiting and about 10 to 15 mins from food places. The motel is off by itself.
6.0 Good
Cons: It did not have a continental breakfast as you stated on your website. The WiFi was very spotty, if it worked at all.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Price
Cons: Room 109 was dirty upon arrival. There was food crumbs around the bed and mattress boxspring. Looking for a plug behind the nightstand was never vacuumed with dirt and old mints and a receipt from someone who previously stayed in the room. In the bathroom ..the wallpaper was peeling and marked with pink ink by the toilet..there was a long piece of hair stuck to the toilet seat and also using one of the washcloths also a long piece of black hair was stuck to the cloth. I did not enjoy the window on the first floor not being able to lock for security. Room smelled like damp basement or old cigarettes ..My experience was not great and I did not feel like I was in a clean place. I unfortunately will never book this place again.. the pictures on booking.com with the colorful walls and hardwood floors and new furniture is not the case
6.8 Good
Pros: Good size room
Cons: No convenient electrical outlet for charging devices.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Did not go for breakfast. Hotel is a little out of the way, but not difficult to find.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Heavy smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway of the non-smoking section that we had to walk through to and from the only available entrance and exit for our room. Window was broken off its track and could not be opened.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The bed and pillows were both excellent, very comfortable. The show was also excellent with plenty of hot water and water pressure. Wifi was also strong.
Cons: Exterior and lobby both gave a shabby appearance . The lobby had a mildewed smell. The coffee maker in the room had not been cleaned in some time and had a moldy coffee filter which makes you wonder what else they aren't cleaning well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We got a suite and it was very nice and comforting.
Cons: Only thing about the suite is why have two separate rooms if the bathroom still needs to be shared because of it being in the mater bedroom. Lol. Other than that issues at this hotel. Enjoy it.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at Rest Inn in Utica, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Utica College and National Distance Running Hall of Fame. Free self parking is available onsite.
6.8 Good
Pros: It was clean. Exactly what I expected from a smaller hotel. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: The breakfast was very slim. Basically included toast or a bagel. Could at least have had some fruit or muffins.
6.8 Good
Pros: Cost of room was about $54 w/ tax through site. Owner was a wonderful, nice gentleman. Location is right off Exit 31 ramp so you can't ask for better convenience.
Cons: Furniture, shower, dresser all desperately needed updates. I asked for a non-smoking room. The room itself was non-smoking but the bathroom reeked of smoke. I'm not sure if it was the vent or the room itself but it was overwhelming. The room I was in was joining to the room next door. The walls/door were so thin that I heard everything on the neighbor's TV and them laughing. Also the room above mine was apparently moving furniture all night as I kept hearing loud thuds. I have upstairs neighbors at home also, so I was kind of looking forward to NOT being woken up by loud thuds/banging on the floor...oh well.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Room was clean - could use some updating.
Cons: Breakfast was a joke - no eggs, no bagels, no cereal, nasty.
7.0 Good
Pros: Manager was very nice, bed was excellent
Cons: Cosmetics
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Very old needs updating and more attention from staff .. the next night we went to a super 8 that was cheaper and was nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful, This is their busy time of the year, I was an early check in and they jumped thru hoops to get my room ready for me, when I visit Utica in the future I will look to stay there.
Cons: The motel next door looked like it was ready to fall in the creek! City traffic is never nice to deal with but that's the world we live in today. The AC in the room was a little on the loud side but at least it was there and it worked great!
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The people attending us were more like stalkers they kepted watching every move we made and was uncomfortable. Even for breakfast they would be there eyeballing us... The rooms were not so clean and the building it self smelled horrible.
Cons: I did not like the smell of the motel Smelled.like.old rugs
5.8 Okay
Pros: Close to the highway and restaurants
Cons: There is no breakfast. It is black coffee on a pot and slices of bread. AC was very noisy, we barely slept, receptionist was drunk and not as attentive.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfy and was able to sleep in. The bathroom and the room itself was very clean, no issues or any difficulties
7.0 Good
Pros: Helpful staff, clean rooms, everything worked.
Cons: Noisy air conditioner (had to turn it off to sleep). No food, drink allowed in rooms. Had to keep drapes closed for privacy (day & night). They don't make the bed, replace towels unless you request it.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant people - just not thoughtful
Cons: The bed wasn't very comfortable and the owners talked very loudly just outside my door - until quite late
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: This place was pretty dirty.

3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Dirty, everything was broken refrigerator tv... etc. Room smelled like smoke and mildew. My reservation was for a room with two beds - gave me two rooms with one bed. Worst motel I’ve been in.
5.5 Okay
Pros: The staff were helpful.
Cons: The size of the room.
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: Air conditioner was mounted on wall in a dark corner. Very minimal lighting in room overall. Air conditioner was mounted over 7 feet high on the wall, making it impossible to see the controls on the a/c. Used the flashlight on my phone to find the general vicinity of the controls. Since I am 6 feet tall, I was able to reach up and press the control buttons. Only through numerous attempts & sheer luck, I was able to turn the a/c on.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Price and it was clean, had cable, staff was nice and helpful.
Cons: Having to be buzzed into the office, the 1/2 inch gap in the door, the dated look and feel, I had to run the shower for 10 minutes before I got hot water. This is a one star hotel.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: It was absolutely filthy.....housekeeping never came during our 2 night stay, shower took 15 minutes to get warm, room was totally dilapidated, heating units falling out of wall. Do not be deceive by the looks outside, beautifull landscaped with flowers and shrubs....inside is totally gross
Cons: pretty much everything
5.0 Okay
Cons: Bathroom was terrible
6.8 Good
Pros: The room is fairly large and has a desk
Cons: The lady at the check-in counter was unable to locate my reservation and was adamant that they have no reservations for this night until I showed it to her on my phone. WiFi barely worked. The water that came out of the shower was black; it cleared up after a few seconds, but I was not sure if it was safe to take a shower. Very noisy fan in the bathroom that turns on automatically when you turn on the light: if you travel with a partner and want to use the bathroom at night, you will definitely wake them up. I stayed in a similar room in Cortland (90 miles away) for about half the price the night before, so this was not good value for money.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Reasonable rate. Dated but definitely clean and comfortable place to sleep for the night
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: There were three locks, which were broken. The entrance light did not work. There was an odor to the room and not pleasant. The exterior of the building was not properly illuminated either. When I complained to the front desk about not feeling secure and the previous mentioned problems he replied " it's safe and you've been here a half an hour." I was ther for probably 15 minutes and decided to return home. I do not recommend this property.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It was quiet, adjacent to gas and interstate. Friendly office attendant.
Cons: Bathroom light goes off and on again all on its own.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The location was good, just off both the toll highway and the non-toll highway.
Cons: We couldn't find any breakfast, the air conditioning wasn't working. After I saw where my friends stayed, I think I paid too much. I tried to pay by debit and the desk person, couldn't get it to work. I believe he was going to refuse our stay. By chance, his co-worker came by and got it to work. I was able to pay by debit everywhere else I went in Utica and Westmoreland.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It was very quiet and room was clean
Cons: We were unable to get Wi-Fi in our room as promised in their ad. It worked in the “lobby” and the repair man did come but never fixed during our stay. The room had a musky odor. There was no closet just a rack on the wall to hang clothes but no hangers.
7.5 Good
Pros: Simple very affordable safe easy.
Cons: A bit shabby but safe
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Bath
7.5 Good
Pros: Location and includes refrigerator. There was an issue with the ac so they happily switched rooms.
Cons: They should prep the room before you get there. For instance the ac should have been going before we got there. It was 90 outside and the ac wasn't on. Its really old so takes time to get it cool. Plus the refrigerator wasn't even plugged in.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great value, Excellent location
Cons: It was all good
7.0 Good
Pros: nice shower & quiet A/C unit & refrigetatorbsthroom
Cons: Bathroom sink plunger didn't work no did the bathroom electrical outlet (room#30). The in-house breakfast was very skimpy!

5.5 Okay
Pros: curved shower curtain rod is in the middle of the shower..so the curtain hits you non stop.
Cons: you can constantly hear the front door while in room 111....maybe they can let you know that up front? or put a slower closing main door. The front desk is messy and sloppy......clean that up a bit.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Different to get up and down the steps. The walk way was not even and walking with a cane was not easy
5.0 Okay
Pros: Conveniently off the highway
Cons: Too close to the highway
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: easy access to highway when it was tome to leave
