AA canceled my trip and it was a total nightmare. I was able to go after a lot of back and forth that ruined my first day.
i’ve been trying to correct my AA credit card and account number with no success. i should not be paying for luggage but they charged me due to an error in the spelling of my name Michele H Biettel should be Michele H Beuttel
No food was offered during a 5 hour flight. Only a snack, which was not served at my row.
Check-in was a nightmare. At least half the self-serve kiosks were out of printer paper so were out of service. It was chaos. No one was directing traffic, so you had to hope you were in the right line. We finally got to a kiosk and checked in, and printed one bag tag for checked baggage. We were in line to drop off the checked bag, and the lady working that station just walked away and didn’t come back. After we waited a bit, another person in line went to ask at the nearby counter if the bag check person was coming back, and she wasn’t, so we had to find a new line and wait all over again. Once we got our bag dropped off and our tickets, the rest was easy. The security line went quickly, and the terminal was clean and nice. Our flight was great and the flight crew was excellent. I think if someone had kept up with the kiosk printers, a lot of the check-in headaches and stress would have been solved.

Cons: "American has been overbooking flights, doesn't respect social distancing, not true that the middle seat is empty, the person next to me coughed frequently, and since it was a FULL flight, I couldn't get another seat!, never again American"

Cons: "The flight was delayed due to a missing officer. Because of this, I missed my flight from Chicago to Narita Japan. I had to cancel the hotel in Japan and pay $120 cancellation fee. The customer service changed my flight to go to Dallas/Fort Worth TX then fly to Narita Japan next day. They gave me vouchers for hotel stay and meal ($12) which are absolutely minimal compensation after all this headaches. They were unable to upgrade my seat since they’re full. Now the flight to Narita is 2 hour delay and they have changed the gate at least twice. I’m worried if I can get on the next connecting flight to Sapporo due to this delayed schedule. I feel like this whole trip is ruined because the delayed flight from Philadelphia to Chicago. This has been my worst and the most ridiculous flight experience ever. I don’t think I ever want to fly with American Airlines in the future."

Cons: "Seat 2L Rocked back-and-forth every time person in seat 1L moved. This was a day flight from Chicago to London so I wasn’t sleeping. I could see if you were sleeping and had to deal with all the seat movement it would not be ideal."

Cons: "Handicap issues. We were exiting on the tarmac in Charlotte- all crew left us on the plane waiting for assistance to get off. Finally when someone showed they would not come up the ramo to get my Mom. I backed her down myself while 5 bewildered airport workers looked confused."

Cons: "British Airways/American Airlines lost/delayed luggage again! Then send an email in the middle of night with a link to schedule home delivery of the luggage that was valid for 4 hours only. It is clearly an attempt to cheat out of their responsibility of home delivery of the luggage that was delayed the second time. Poor, poor service by American Airlines."

Cons: "The multiple delays. I purposely picked the earliest flight that would fit our schedule and even pay slightly more per ticket to do so. I’m traveling with 4 kids ages 8-1 and I know by experience that late nights don’t mix well with kids. We were supposed to arrive at 8:50, instead we arrived just before midnight. Can u say cranky kids? Sigh. We may not travel with kids for awhile to recover."

Pros: "We were very well looked after by a group of male flight attendants. The plane was clean, calm, quiet and we had all we needed."

Cons: "I feel like they are cramming more seats on a plane. I am 5'2 and I felt I had no leg room!!!! It's an international flight, they should be some roominess!!! I rather chose an Asian airline than a USA airline. I can't believe the space!"

Cons: "I began flying when airline attendants were called airline stewardesses. Their personality plus attitudes and attention to detail reflected on the overall image of the airline, and did not make me feel like a second rate citizen in a second class seat. I've noticed over the last decade-plus that this has changed. I've been rudely spoken to for reaching for a napkin off the cart as I was not given one with my drink. My elbow was hit by the cart as it moved from back to front of isle, and no apology followed. The garbage was collected moving back to front, so I had to get the attention of the attendant after she flew by me. I thoroughly researched the size of the suitcase required prior to flying, and bought a new one to meet the requirements. My suitcase did not fit on American Airlines. Why am I bringing up American Airline? When getting to the airport in Milan, Italy, 2 1/2 hours prior to flight departure, I approached the British Airway counter. As no one was there, I proceeded to believe I was too early, so I had breakfast. I again approached the British Airway counter and still no one was there. On my way to the bathroom, I found the flight board and followed the directions. I searched for British airlines at the gate I was directed to, but was unable to find it. I asked an attendant, and I was directed to the American Airline gate. It was very confusing. It would have been nice if there was a sign at the British Airways counter directing its customers to American Airlines."

Cons: "The in-flight entertainment choices were lame. I suppose most people sleep on long flights. The food was not great. Mostly edible if you're really hungry. There was not enough room for everyone to put a carry on in an overhead bin. Luckily, I'm short and I keep mine under the seat."
