They had me assigned to a wrong seat, so I had to fight my way 20 rows up as people are filing into their seats. The hot towel to clean your hands was dry and cold. The roll was hard as a rock and cold. The crew was rude and unapproachable. It took almost 3 hours to get them to reset my tv and when she finally did it glitched the whole time I tried watching it. The croissant was literally cooked to the paper and had to rip apart Croissant to get the paper off. They didn't serve the cocktail as promised. It was a pretty poor performance on all levels, and if this survey truly means anything, I hope this gets remedied."

It was not until I went to the security line when they found a mismatched name. I was asked to go through security THREE TIMES. And then at the gate, I was supposedly "randomly selected" for ANOTHER swab/swipe security check. The flight itself was uncomfortable. There are not enough bathrooms for the number of people seated on the flight. The entertainment was the only excellent and recommendable thing about this delta flight."

Cons: "I booked KLM flights (Cork - Tampa return) but the planes were in fact Aer Lingus and Delta. So I have no idea what KLM is like. When I checked in at Cork the ground staff could only give me a boarding card for the first flight. For the second one she said I would have to go to the Delta counter in Amsterdam. It was difficult to find a counter there or staff as check-in was all by computer. The computer kept saying 'error' when I put in my code. I eventually was directed to a KLM desk (nicely hidden). I was told that my seat no longer existed. At this point the flight was ready to board. Thankfully the KLM ground staff were extremely helpful and reassuring and upgraded my ticket to economy comfort. On the way back, I could only get a boarding card for my first flight. The second two I had to collect at the boarding gate of the second flight."

Cons: "1. I already had a tight connection and let the flight attendant know that I was concerned due to the delay. She seemed very laissez faire and there was no information about the connections gate overhead or when I got off the plane. I think that if the flight is delayed, the airline should let passengers know where the close connection gate assignments are to save them time (my flight landed ten minutes after my connection was boarding). 2. The carry on luggage section was impossibly small so I had to gatecheck my bag and it took five minutes to get my bag back. Given the tight connection, this created additional anxiety."

Extra precautions (testing a Ziploc bag of cookies and several chocolate bars for explosive materials) did not make me feel safer or less inconvenienced by the theatrics of security."

Cons: "My husband booked West Jet by phone. They spelled my name wrong on the ticket which caused hours of delays tryng to check in...ultimately leading to our missing the flight. The time spent was around 6 hours....4 of them the were on one continuous phone call where we were bumped back and forth between West Jet and Delta. The problem was never fixed and we haven’t flown home yet. We have new flights booked on Delta but only because Delta took pity....West Jet does no refunds or reticketing. If flights are missed you're out on of luck!"

Cons: "We were arbitrarily re-seated due to equipment changes, back and forth and lost our original seat selection even though we wound up on a plane with the original configuration. An international call wait of 1.5 hours was required to just get us back into the economy plus section that we had originally paid for, Amsterdam check-in was chaotic. In-plane staff was not at all helpful with our desire to get seats on the outside rows of our section."

Pros: "I paid only $100 more round trip to DTW from SLC then I would have with other carriers, minus the hassle of connecting flights and paying fees that they don't tell you about up front (like $25 for a carry-on bag, oh and a another $12 per leg for a window seat). My experience, like my previous Delta experiences was absolutely enjoyable. From the quick boarding, super friendly gate agents, and flight crew, to the free on board entertainment, Delta has won me over once again. Oh and did I mention how great it is to board a flight, relax and watch a good movie, take a small nap, and deplane at your destination! Awesome!!"
Pros: "There wasn't much to like. Just about everything was wrong. The plane was a newish 787, so it didn't feel old. Boarding went well because we complained about how tired we, at 70+, were because the flight was late and we'd been standing up; this resulted in us being boarded with some of the latish priority passengers."
Cons: "Everything, really. The plane was very crowded; small seats, little leg room. The meals were mediocre and the cabin staff were just barely the good side of unhelpful, officious and unfriendly The flight was inexplicably 2 hours or more late in excellent weather. No apologies given, the flight that was originally scheduled for 8 pm left close to 11 pm. While boarding the only light is a purplish ambient lighting that made it impossible to read anything, including the safety material, until the inflight entertainment was loaded up (the lights are only controlled through software-actuated virtual buttons on the screen). The inflight entertainment system is hard to use, too, designed by idiots for use by geniuses. But the very worst thing was the stress caused by Virgin Atlantic in just about guaranteeing that we would miss this flight. On our outbound voyage in January, VA, for reasons nobody knows, booked an ADDITIONAL leg from JHB to CPT on BA at 12:30 pm, even though we were already ON the earlier 9:30 BA flight we'd booked and paid for. Then, when we didn't show up for this spurious flight (because we were already in the air) we didn't book (BA swears they have evidence that VA made this booking), our return flight CPT to JBG three months later was cancelled WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE. If I hadn't been interested in knowing, the day before the flight, if the return BA flight had a meal, I would have showed up at the CPT airport in April and discovered that I had no way to get to the VA flight in JHB! As it was I spent an entire day trying to get back on the flight I'd already paid for. I advise EVERYONE who uses VA to reconfirm flights over and over. There is still no explanation for this. I will never NEVER fly VA again. They are not to be trusted."

The need to upgrade their fleet."

After more calls put me in another United flight later that night which also finally got cancelled. I had to book a new flight with delta and paid $460 on the spot for that. Still awaiting my refund from American for the return leg which was cancelled and left a lady traveling alone stranded at Detroit airport in the night. Apology or compensation -- forget it, you will never get that! Only now if they can refund my cancelled flight..."

Cons: "The flight was originally scheduled to take off at 8:20 pm, but due to several delays did not end up getting off the ground until after 11 pm. After being in the air for about 45 minutes we were informed that there were issues with the engine and that we would be turning around and heading back to Dallas. By this point it was after midnight, and although I was appreciative that safely is a priority, there was no communication as to what the next steps were. After landing we were finally told that we would have to deplane, and after we sat around the gate for awhile we were informed that the flight would be delayed until 5 am. Being 12:50 am at this point a hotel would have been nice, but we were informed that AA was "out of hotels" but that if we wanted we could have a $12 food voucher to use at the one restaurant that was open several terminals over. The AA employee assisting in handing out the food vouchers seemed extremely unapologetic about the situation which didn't help with the frustration everyone was feeling. I will not be booking with AA again, and will be passing along my negative experience to family and friends. It is worth spending the extra money on a ticket for an airline that is more reliable with better customer service."

Cons: "I am an experienced traveler. I've been to 17 countries and have flown over a million miles in both business and coach. My wife encountered a problem in Istanbul that involved an airport transit visa through Canada. I am certain that any other airline we’ve ever flown would’ve assisted us, since it was easily resolved. To Turkish Airlines, this is simply a part of their business model and a chance to make more money. It took about 8 hours of our time at 5 different airport locations to eventually buy new tickets to get back the next day. Our original tickets say: “REISSUE With 200.00 USD penalty. What I didn’t see was the fine print at the bottom: “Turkish Airlines reserves the right to change rules regarding ticket changes and refunds.”. They mean it. As bad as our personal experience was, the real reason we are so appalled is that we were there long enough to see this is the norm for them. In our single day there, we saw at least 100 other travelers going through similar things. The ONLY solution ever offered is to purchase another ticket. We witnessed several people weeping. Many losing control and shouting. Their own personnel were screaming at customers (in a separate office area though, it was all yucks and laughing). These were people of all nationalities. Africans, Asians, Europeans. We were lucky because we had the means to purchase new tickets. Others clearly didn’t. I really don’t know what happened to some of them. One moment was very symbolic of the entire experience. Another vanquished traveler was paying $843 for a new ticket with cash. He handed her $845 but she, of course, had no change. Instead of the $5, he gave her two $1 bills. I had one in my pocket so gave it to her as well. She held my $1 bill up and pointed to the corner which had a very small piece torn off…no ink was missing…and sneered “I can’t accept this. She did this simply because she could. We were powerless. She knew it and reveled in it."

Cons: "We flew from Toronto to Calgary, the original flight was suppose to be from Toronto to S.F. we were told that the original flight had been cancelled because the flights did not match up, the one coming from Aruba got in to late to make the connecting flight it was a nightmare i will probably never fly Air Canada again nor will i recommend to others"

Your planes seem dated and have no entertainment system on board, oh unless I want to pay another $10 bucks for an Ipad.. Food , what food. You did not have half of the items on your own menu.. and when I bought some cheese and crackers, I had to remind the lady that cashews were in the picture too. You have a mediocre airline, nothing to brag about here."

I Even though I made it through Customs in the shortest time possible, and back through security, I still managed to narrowly make my second flight. They were final-calling my name and actually taking off earlier than expected. Had I been 2 more minutes late, my flight would probably have taken off. I didn't check any bags either, so had I checked one, I don't think I would have made my second flight."

Here we are six years later and still no seat back screens on an 11 hour flight. What are they thinking? Food and service were also very mediocre. Will not fly Air Canada again."
Cons: "The last leg of our entire trip, and it was late. We left about 1.5 hours late and they had trouble getting the gate to the plane when we landed. A long trip home was made even longer. I was very surprised that there were so many issues with timeliness on AC flights. In our outbound to Athens, two of the three flights left late, and they had to rebook part of our trip to accommodate. And the return trip was more of the same. I expected AC to be world-class and it was more like a regional airline in terms of performance."

It wasn't my fault that their crappy plane wasn't working right wasn't my fault we were delayed but I need to manage my time better I think they fell and bumped their head!!"
Cons: "I will never fly Air Canada between Detroit and Toronto again. Both ways the crew looked exhausted and like they were rather be anyplace but working our flight. Both times they took our carry ons without giving us a choice. For our flight out this was a stressful nuisance because we had to catch a connecting overseas flight. This involved my husband and son going to baggage claim and then having to go back through customs and TSA. The whole point of carry ons is to avoid this. Cons: "Toronto Terminal F is kind of how I envision a third-world country. At least at the higher-number gates, it's very dreary, with an occasional flying insect and signs hanging from the ceiling. Worse is the lack of air conditioning and the sporadic wi-fi service. Worst of all was the almost two-hour delay and changing our departure gate at least five times. Two fellow passengers (one a native of Toronto) said it was always like that. The trip from Toronto to London and back was fine, but I'll try very hard to avoid Air Canada and its Terminal F."

Cons: "Delays due to to weather is not a new thing to worry, but flight delay should be informed early to the passengers so that I should have planned the arrival to the airport accordingly, but I was told just before the gate prior to boarding time and the delay was around 3 hrs."
Pros: "The United staff and flight were great, no complaints. We arrived a few minutes too late for my partner to check in with his luggage so they even arranged it so that he would be able to still catch the flight but the luggage would be sent on the following flight. Definitely saved us from the stress of having to be split up and worried on when there would be room for him to catch an alternate flight."
Cons: "My complaints are with Newark airport (EWR). The AirTran took over 10-15min to arrive and when it finally did we had to get off and wait for another one which didn’t have space for everyone so a group of us had to wait even longer for the next one to arrive. A guy said he missed his flight last time that happened. They had more trains going to the parking lot for customers leaving the airport than they did for people catching their flights! Then there was only one security check in line, even for expedited check in. Despite allocating extra time for our overall commute, we still made it right on time for boarding so make sure to give yourself PLENTY of time when dealing with EWR."

Miserable 13 hour trip for what should've been 4 hours in the air."

The second was staffed by a crew who couldn't see the passengers scrounging for anything to cover up with to keep warm. Both crews lacked any sense of pride and professionalism. Add delays to that and you have a sum total of a miserable trip home."

Cons: "I was denied an entry to the UNITED LOUNGE at Chicago Air port. The lady stated that this lounge is only for the departing passengers! She scanned my boarding card.and I said to her that I am departing to Detroit. She said I can enter if I am a GOLD card member or purchase a day pass for $59.00. I declined. I am under the impression that United is a partner of Lufthansa.and that they should honor the same Business class privileges as Lufthansa. I found it rather discriminatory act on the part of this particular employee of the United lounge at Chicago airport. Pl. bring it to the attention of the Lufthansa and United . I will appreciate follow up on this matter."

When we got that sorted they then proceeded to tell us that the flight atendent had to leave and we had to wait another 20 min for another atendent to arrive before finally making our way to Detroit. I do understand its legal but I don't get how you are putting customers first by causing this drama. I understand how that DR felt when your guards ripped him out of his seat. I spent nearly 3 hours trying to find babysitters and alternate rides all while the snotty lady at the desk kept saying "you may not be flying out today but I cant tell you for sure". So to insure the bottom line you overbook then bump people at your leisure? This little game effects many lives above and beyond just the passengers. I don't plan on booking with United ever again. Why would I? There are many other options that take customer service more seriously. I would love to speak to someone higher up in this organization. But, im sure that will never happen."

I had to wait another 45 minutes in the United line to retrieve my boarding pass, then about another hour to go through passport control and security. I barely made my flight.
