Flight attendants very attentive, courteous and professional. Even while children were sleeping during meal distribution. We were offered sandwiches for them to eat later. Phone can now be used in airplane mode. USB charger via screen.

This ridiculous airline and it's rude, obnoxious staff in Chengdu made a mockery of my friend and I (two 21 year old American girls traveling alone). We had booked round trip tickets back in October 2017 that included a 1 hour layover in Chengdu first, then a 7 hour layover in Shanghai on our way to Bangkok for a trip in Thailand. That was fine with us. Then all of a sudden it changed to a 6 hour layover in Chengdu then an 18 HOUR layover in Shanghai. We decided to deal with it and get a hotel room in Shanghai, no big deal. After a great trip in Thailand and leaving fine from Bangkok to our first layover in Chengdu, that is where the nightmare started. First off, going through Chengdu customs, I don't know if it is because Americans do not travel through there a lot, but the officers pulled us aside and were passing around our American passports around their staff, taking pictures of them with Iphones before handing us "in-transit" paperwork to fill out. As weird as that was, no one really seemed to speak english and we just wanted to get away from them and get through. When we went to the check in counter, they handed me a boarding pass for our flight at 1:50 that afternoon, but then proceeded to tell my friend that she wasn't on a flight until the next morning at 7 am out of Chengdu and our original connecting flight out of Shanghai at 11:50 the next morning was now at 8 pm for her. What could have been simply fixed like it WAS after calling priceline and our travel agent, the staff at the ticket counter and a representative over the phone made our lives living hell. They barely spoke english and the ones that did were very rude to us, saying that they couldn't help us and put us on the phone with China Eastern. FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF we were on the phone with a representative who was talking us in circles, telling us that there were no available seats on the 1:50 and that he could get her on the next 3:45 out of Chengdu, then put us on hold to come back and say he couldn't only change 1 domestic flight in China, but would have to cancel her flight to NY. When offering to pay to just DO IT and get out of china, he said that if he were to cancel it and take our credit card info, it "may or may not go through" and if it didn't she would be stuck with no flights. When asked how that made any sense, he proceeds to say" Because miss, our system sucks," and other rude things like "Why can't you just keep your flight and meet your friend in NY." then him along with a rude ticket counter guy say that he could help us if we took 5,000 yuan out of the bank and paid them cash. TRYING TO SCAM US. After all this drama a simple call to priceline was able to fix the problem no payment involved, and there WERE available seats on all the flights and a domestic flight could be changed. LYING, SCAMMING, RUDE, individuals. Definitely worth a little more money to take any other airline BUT THIS ONE.

The staff spoke English very well at ICN, which was a nice change compared to China, where I live and work. They listened and understood my concerns, especially about having little time between flights, not knowing what to do next, and needed their assistance with getting my luggage forwarded.

Usually I love ICN airport. I was not aware there was another terminal, kilometres away by shuttle bus, that I needed to use between flights. If not for the extremely helpful information booth staff at station E, who arranged to have my luggage forwarded to my final definition, barely in time when the flights were purchased separately, I would have missed my flight trying to get my luggage then check it again, in addition to all the other steps. This time, I found the various steps in the procedure unpredictable. The signage is great but I didn't know what I was to do next.

Crewmen at the luggage/bags scanning were very rude. Our flight from Manila to Guangzhou was delayed by an hour or so. With all the pressure we were already experiencing and rushing to get to our connecting flight, here comes these crewmen in charge of scanning our bags we're all shouting at us to rush. The delay was not the passengers fault.

We flew economy, so didn’t have incredible expectations. The seats actually had more legroom than expected and reclined well. No complaints for what it is.

The food was pretty terrible, even for airplane food. On a 14.5 hot flight we had 2 full meals, along with some snacks which was decent frequency. However it was so inedible! Luckily we packed our own food just in case. The crew was also pretty terrible, and not because of a language barrier. Didn’t seem to know the basics about food and drink service and often skipped service to people wide awake and waiting.

good it was not a long flight.

The crew was a bit negligent. They passed me when serving the food just because the aisle seat passenger next to me was served his special meal earlier, so they did not notice that the passenger at the window seat (which was me) had no tray in front of him when running the regular meal service. Isn't this sloppy !? Problem is that once they passed you, it's hard to get their attention, as they are always in a hurry, and not looking over the cabin just to check if someone needs something or wants to call on them for any reason, and there are no attendant calling buttons available. So you have to wait until they come by your seat again. Finally I got my meal with apologies 15 minutes later, but the experience was already ruined and the negative impression built.. Also, when departing from Taipei, the boarding process was a bit disorganized, compared with the one we had in Vancouver. As for as the entertainment, the LCD monitor at my seat was pretty worn out, with very poor contrast, making it difficult to watch a movie or read information. Same airline with two opposing experiences: Vancouver-to-Taipei very good, Taipei-to-Manila: poor.

Service was extremely slow, it took almost two hours just to get offered a drink. There wasn't any offering after boarding and I had to ask just to get water. The food was quite bad, normally I would choose the Japanese meal, however, both the Japanese and International options were poor. The staff seemed unorganized and did not follow a set protocol.

The food was good and the service was great. The flight attendants were very attentive.

I had to pay $200 for an extra bag because they told me that my bags were all over weight. Come to find out, the scale was broken and my bags were actually underweight. So I ended up with 5 bags instead of 3. My main issue was comfortability. Due to the person behind me, I couldn’t push my chair back and so I had find different ways to sleep.

It’s difficult to choose what part of the flight was the best, but the overall experience will make me come back for more. The check-in process took very little time. The flight staff was friendly and courteous and had a smile throughout the flight. The lighting was so much brighter than with the first and second legs of my flight and the plane was very clean, to the point where one could eat off the floor. the in-flight entertainment, clothes rack, charger, and remote controller were all right in front of you instead of being tucked in by your side. The food quality was savory and refreshing. I should have asked for a second meal as it was that good even for a short economy flight.

the salad and desserts were excellent, as was the chicken and rice, but I would have appreciated a choice for my main menu selection.

Arriving on time even though it took off 45 min late

They lost all of our luggages(five pieces) and never attempted to locate them at LAX. Which were transferred from United airlines. It took eight contacts and finally reaching out to LAX office in 36 hours later, they located the luggages in 45 minutes. asiana from Inchon office kept on telling me that it is in LA office’s hand and yet they weren’t willing to call for LA office’s assistance. They were simply relying on the process which has been broken. Then upon the delivery, the driver informed us the severe damage in my tumi bag.

I am used to flying Frontier because of cost but recently traveled Delta and boy did I feel completely spoiled! Not only did my other half get our bags for free due to his status with Delta but the amenities they offer and the comfort of the economy seats compared to other airlines is a major difference. As a chronic pain patient, if I can find a Delta flight for a little more, I will be booking with them for sure! Highly recommend them!

For a little over $2000 you get an economy seat non-stop from DC to Tokyo and back. Meals were good. As economy seats go, it's comfortable. Midweek the flight is about half to two thirds full. So you might be able to stretch out even!

Stewardess seems very annoyed with flight. There was turbulence so the passengers needed to stay seated - a gentleman next to me asked for a glass of water since there was no refreshment service - the stewardess was very short with him. It’s not the passengers fault. I was surprised - usually the staff is a lot more professional than that.

The 3 employees at the counter got together & solved a glitch in our Australia visa that was priventing them from issueing bording pass for our second leg of travel They were outstanding & also unexpectedly we received a hotel respite for our 8 hour layover in Guangzhou! Smiling flight atendents. This is my first travel with China southern On the other hand during 6 wk prior to our trip we were unable to get anybody on the phone to ask Q or reserve a seat. On line charades where like a closed loops ! The price for long haul: Dubai/Guangzhou/cairns could not be beat!!

Friendliness of staff My familly got to follow my flight very closely.

Delays and harsh trubulance (altough i know that wasn’t air Canada’s fault for the weather) The changing of gates and the changing of boarding time without being updated on the application. The changing of the gate was changed moments before the boarding

Crewmen at the luggage/bags scanning were very rude. Our flight from Manila to Guangzhou was delayed by an hour or so. With all the pressure we were already experiencing and rushing to get to our connecting flight, here comes these crewmen in charge of scanning our bags we're all shouting at us to rush. The delay was not the passengers fault.

The 3 employees at the counter got together & solved a glitch in our Australia visa that was priventing them from issueing bording pass for our second leg of travel They were outstanding & also unexpectedly we received a hotel respite for our 8 hour layover in Guangzhou! Smiling flight atendents. This is my first travel with China southern On the other hand during 6 wk prior to our trip we were unable to get anybody on the phone to ask Q or reserve a seat. On line charades where like a closed loops ! The price for long haul: Dubai/Guangzhou/cairns could not be beat!!

The staff spoke English very well at ICN, which was a nice change compared to China, where I live and work. They listened and understood my concerns, especially about having little time between flights, not knowing what to do next, and needed their assistance with getting my luggage forwarded.

Usually I love ICN airport. I was not aware there was another terminal, kilometres away by shuttle bus, that I needed to use between flights. If not for the extremely helpful information booth staff at station E, who arranged to have my luggage forwarded to my final definition, barely in time when the flights were purchased separately, I would have missed my flight trying to get my luggage then check it again, in addition to all the other steps. This time, I found the various steps in the procedure unpredictable. The signage is great but I didn't know what I was to do next.

Long haul 15 hour flight

We flew economy, so didn’t have incredible expectations. The seats actually had more legroom than expected and reclined well. No complaints for what it is.

The food was pretty terrible, even for airplane food. On a 14.5 hot flight we had 2 full meals, along with some snacks which was decent frequency. However it was so inedible! Luckily we packed our own food just in case. The crew was also pretty terrible, and not because of a language barrier. Didn’t seem to know the basics about food and drink service and often skipped service to people wide awake and waiting.

Take off and landing smooth and relatively smooth in between.

6 hour flight no food included. Came by twice for beverages. No entertainment. Probably the first time in 10 years I've been on a flight without any screens for entertainment. Goes without saying, no USB plug in.

I didn't appreciate losing my luggage as I came to Canada for a wedding and I didn't have access to my things. The flight was direct so I don't understand why my luggage was lost.

The in-flight meals from SFO to Beijing were good and the flight attendents' service was up to the standard.

The style of the pillows and blankets were nice. The pillows were really comfortable and a good size. The taste of the food was okay. I honestly expected a horrible experience, it was not fantastic but it was better than what I anticipated.

The sealed blanket had white hair as if from an older person. Although I liked the pillow, on my return flight I used it to sleep, I used it for my back the entire time going, when I got home I noticed I was developing a sty on my eyelid. My companions noticed that the sometimes when he received his food it was still cold in some parts. On my return flight there were a few times my row was skipped for drinks. On my return flight the stewardess seemed hesitant when I asked for an additional drink. I ordered tea and asked for water. The gate agent in Beijing was extremely rude and unhelpful, she ignored us and even tossed our ticket back at us when we tried to ask about our seats for the flight.

The aircraft crew was nice

The ground staff in Mumbai airport was rude and disrespectful. These people need special training on communication. Very dissapointed, never taking air China again.
