Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Fast boarding"
Cons: "More snack choices"
Cons: "Our flight was cancelled on Sunday and they couldn’t get us out until the following Saturday. So we had to cancel our reservation and get refunded... except American says talk to royal jordanian, royal jordanian says talk to air booking. Air booking isn’t reimbursing us and want US to pay $400."
Pros: "Nothing was better than standard"
Cons: "It felt like the staff had instructoions not to smile not even once. The food was beyond terrible. I’m not asking for hot bread like other airlines do, but at least serve it at room temperature instead of super frozen. Same for the butter. The continental breakfast had nothing continental about it"
Cons: "The legroom on AA's new planes is atrocious."
Pros: "Seats which I choose where very comfortable."
Cons: "Would have like a choice in food severd"
Cons: "Mechanical problems deejays the flight and I missed my connection. Uncomfortable seats."
Pros: "Ease of check in"
Cons: "DIdnt understand why a seat as not assigned. A few people had the same issue and the gate agent suggested we may not get seats. Very stressful given he need to make an international connection. Gate service was not available early enough."
Pros: "Getting home EVENTUALLY"
Cons: "10 minutes after leaving Austin the pilot tellsnus Houston air traffic control is grounding all westbound flights due to a storm in Dallas that's causing too much congestion. So we sa on the Tarmac for 90 minutes. I have a difficult time believing this situation was a surprise. Possibly it was just to free up the gate and not have to go through reboarding. Also leg room is getting reduced to 28 inches. I'm 5"11 and cramped. How is JetBlue better than American? How much will these airlines continue to bend us over. I didn't even take the screaming infant into account.... since it's not AA's fault for letting that baby on board."
Cons: "."
Pros: "Short flight"
Cons: "They lost our bags in Dallas. The customer service rep was useless"
Pros: "nothing"
Cons: "westjet delayed my flight once again, so I was stuck in the LAX airport for 5 hours"

Pros: "It's just like very other airlines."
Pros: "Can't think of anything at this time"
Cons: "Bought this ticket as gift for my grandson. His departing flight was 4 hours late! Therefore the people picking him up in L.A. Had to pick him up after midnight instead of 8pm. Airline wouldn't try to get him a seat on another airline to help the situation. Thought I was booking this on Alaskan airline but turns out they used American. Will never use this sight again. Going to book directly with actual airline next time"
Pros: "Seats were comfortable. Entertainment was appreciated. Flight was smooth and landed early. There was just no offer of food unless for purchase and I was hungry and look forward to that. Even just a bag of pretzels!"
Cons: "See above"
Pros: "Quick boarding to make up for a late flight arrival."
Pros: "I was flying with 2 children on my own and had an issue booking seats together, the gate agents worked to find a solution when we arrived and we were all seated together. Thank you so much for keeping us all together, as my one child has aspbergers and the other is only 8 and we are not frequent flyers. I highly recommend your airline to everyone I meet. Everything met or exceeded our needs. Thank you so very much."
Pros: "Airport expansion"
Cons: "Due to construction traffic is a problem but still manageable"
Pros: "Quick connection"
Cons: "Tiny overhead bins - even in first class"
Cons: "Kiosks were not functioning and we were forced to stand in long lines for customer service for luggage tags Many passengers missed their flights No help for those using malfunctioning kiosks only one person to help hundreds of stuck customers and we barely made our flight"
Pros: "The stewardess/flight crew were awesome."
Cons: "Airport staff, tight seats and boarding process."
Pros: "Our experience was very smooth. We appreciate all the work that went into making this a pleasant experience for all of us."
Pros: "The flight was very good. Boarding was good, shorter flight, smooth, landed and off we were."
Cons: "Seating still needs a little more padding for comfort. Delta airlines has a screen on every seat and you can see where you are and how far you have gone and so on. That would be nice. It was very difficult to hear what the pilot said when he spoke to say hello and whatever else he said. Entertainment? There wasn't any on this flight"
Pros: "wifi was great"
Pros: "Plane did not crash."
Cons: "Has anyone at AA ever watched the insane boarding process? No running water on the plane, not hot anything (coffee, tea, food). Generally terrible experience, like most of the airlines."
Pros: "Service was not only on time we landed early as oppose to me losing 1300 usd on my original flight to dallas for work Friday which I didn't make and cost me out of pocket"
Pros: "Infrastructure"
Cons: "Staff behaviour"
Pros: "Staff was wonderful."
Pros: "Arrived. Crew was nice."
Cons: "Seat too small, cramped leg room. Was told there was no space for my carry-on and to check it, but there was plenty of space when I got on plane."
Cons: "The 20 minute wait before we could dock at the gate An annoying air vent making an intermittent noise... Something broken obviously"
Pros: "I made it home safe."
Cons: "However, the customer service was horrible and very unprofessional. I had to leave a loved one behind because nobody knew the rules and regulations on bringing back a pet! Now, I don't have my dog Tyson with me and my fiancé surprised me with him as an early Christmas gift. I won't be flying with American Airlines again!)"
Pros: "I did not like any of it."
Cons: "We couldn't hear any of the group calling. There were so many different reward members that by the time group B was called I had to check in my baggage. I was not able to pick another seat during ticketing. When I fly for business I generally have a carry on so I can quickly catch my ride however dour to check in of my baggage I had to wait another 30 min before I received my baggage. Air hostess were not very friendly or helpful."
Pros: "I prefer this size plane to the other alternatives."
Cons: "No snacks were offered at all."
Pros: "The flight was only 30 min"
Pros: "fly was on time"
Cons: "food"
Pros: "Boarding was fast."
Cons: "No internet on plane. Plane was older. Seats were not comfortable. Had to wait 40 minutes in hot plane for our gate to be available for our plane to pull into."
Pros: "Flight attendants allowed me to move into an unoccupied seat to have more room. Very polite."
Cons: "I paid $40 extra to select a seat and the seat was a middle seat and very uncomfortable and a rip off."
Pros: "Nothing"
Cons: "Terrible customer service, multiple flight cancellations"
Cons: "Apparently my seat change did not go through because I was still stuck in the last row near the bathrooms. I must say, the fecal aroma really complemented the on set nausea that was triggered by the turbulence. Every time I thought I was gona drift off to sleep I was rudely awakened by the constant "thwacking" of the bathroom doors. The family next to me was nice enough but they did have a toddler who was very loud and unhappy and the tantrums followed. I have been a server for 14 years and generally can brush annoyances off like this but this was by far the worst flight I have been on."
Cons: "Headphones should be provided in flights"
Cons: "Got cancelled"
Cons: "When going to website to link to free entertainment the flight is wifi capable but you must purchase Internet. Not sure why they did not make the move to add free entertainment on a 4+ hour flight."
Pros: "Crew were nice and as accommodating as possible."
Cons: "On a round-trip, both airplanes on outbound and return flights had mechanical failures, resulting in over 3hr delays both times. This was for a short Austin-Dallas round trip, where I could have driven in less time than what I spent delayed at the airports. I can only conclude that AA is skimping on maintenance."
