Cons: "Our flight in Lisbon was scheduled to board an hour before departure. We arrived on-time, went through the line and were then placed in a standing room only area to stand and wait for another 45 minutes before boarding. We were placed near the entrance (I thought to board early as a family) but were later told to join another line when we asked why we sere just standing and waiting while other passengers were walking past us. The communication between staff and between your staff and passengers was poor."

Cons: "at check-in agent said we did not have coverage on our ticket for our 2 -50lb bags dispite informing her that we were covered and had no problem on our arriving flight to Portugal - we had to pay 196 Euros or leave our bags in Portugal Additionally we had ordered a wheelchair to assist my wife to the gate - which we also had our arriving flight - agent said she had no record of it. She said we could wait which we did and waited 2 hours to obtain a wheelchair (and came close to missing our plane) not to mention the stress associated with the whole check in process"

Pros: "I really appreciated the fact that the gate agents enforced the boarding process meticulously. Often times, even when boarding a certain zone, passengers ignore it and board anyway. The staff made sure that people only boarded when their zone was called. The flight and the aircraft was comfortable. The food was better than what I've had on other airlines, if not at least equal."

Cons: "If you're going to charge for a checked bag on an international flight, it would be nice if you made that clear on the ticket purchase. A tiny link buried in the information section "See baggage information for additional fees that may apply" doesn't make it abundantly clear that you're going to be hit with an $85 charge each way (ultimately $380 for my wife and me round-trip). Sneaky and dishonest!"

Cons: "Had to check 2 of our luggages, and it cost $95 per piece. Never flown an airline where I had to pay more than $50 per piece. Also carryon has to be less than 8 kg. Our small luggage that we had to check never had any problems with any other airlines about being a carryon but since it was over 8 kg, it had to be checked. Took a 7.5 hour flight and the entertainment screen was not working for anyone, as the system was broken. Will not be flying with airline ever again."

Even though there were plenty of aisle seats open, the crew member just kinda ignored us. The old lady sitting next to me just slept the whole time and I could not get out to the bathroom. Also since I am left handed I could not really eat since with the right-handed old lady we were hitting each other's elbow and nocking each the food out of each other's hand, I finally pulled my elbow in and ate like a T-Rex. The person in front of me pushed their seat back all the way, I asked the crew member to do something but nothing really was done, since I am a little taller I could not fit my knees, they were crushed."

The crew was professional and courteous and the boarding process (two kids included) was very smooth. This has been our BEST experience with an airline in 15 years of traveling annually to Europe. When I followed the link it stated that the app was not available for my location (at the time Sao Miguel). When I tried to use the SATA onboard app I’d previously downloaded it wouldn’t work. I don’t mind not having entertainment provided by the airline as I have access to downloads from a streaming service but it is frustrating to be told a service is available and then have it not work. Mobile boarding passes would be convenient."

Flight took an extra hour to reach the destination, and during the flight the crew was constantly banging into me when I had my arms within the arm rests. Once at the airport, our entire flight had to wait for a flight that landed after our’s luggage to come through the conveyor belt. There was only the option of fish for food. Who offers basically microwaved fish on a flight, everyone knows you shouldn’t reheat fish. There was also no entertainment on a 6 1/2 hour flight and the WiFi would not connect."

I don't want to watch entertainment on my tiny phone. I wish they had seatback screens as other Trans-Atlantic flights do."

SATA/Air Azores has a monopoly on the flights in and out of the Azores to the USA and no other airlines are allowed to flight that route. They should be ashamed of themselves by the way they run this airline and treat the passengers."

Stupid. The plane itself was really uncomfortable, and being stuck in the tiny seats surrounded by screaming children, with no wifi or in-flight entertainment was torture."

Eight hours of actual round-trip flight time should not have to come with 5 hours of delays! Especially since it was perfect weather throughout! Very very disappointed in the entire trip."
