Customer service was terrible. Multiple people in line said they had been stranded in Portugal by TAP airlines before."

Cons: "On my ticket I selected the lacto-ovo vegetarian meal and I never received it. I told the flight attendant and he said “we don’t have any more, chicken or fish”. I said “I am a vegetarian” and he gave me a tiny salad, a bread roll, and a chocolate mousse. I was very hungry as I hadn’t eaten in 9 hrs"

Pros: "I am used to traveling continents with other companies. There has always been 2 check in bags allowed with no extra charge as long as you are under 23kg on each. I get to the airport with my 2 bags ready, TAP tells me on large holidays, they only allow 1 bag to be checked to my specific african destination until January 11. And that one bag will cost me $120. They will not let me have the second one. Who does that? How much sense is this supposed to have. I checked with others and they do not do that. Never again they will see me."

Cons: "at check-in agent said we did not have coverage on our ticket for our 2 -50lb bags dispite informing her that we were covered and had no problem on our arriving flight to Portugal - we had to pay 196 Euros or leave our bags in Portugal Additionally we had ordered a wheelchair to assist my wife to the gate - which we also had our arriving flight - agent said she had no record of it. She said we could wait which we did and waited 2 hours to obtain a wheelchair (and came close to missing our plane) not to mention the stress associated with the whole check in process"

Cons: "When TAP couldn’t get me to Lisbon in time to make my connection they added a flight to Madrid where I waited until 16:00 to fly to Seville. I talked to several TAP representatives and none were helpful or apologetic and they offered me nothing for the problems they caused. I missed my only day in Seville due to this. This trip turned out to be a disaster."

The same did not happen before where I had to wait until 2am for my tap flight that was supposed to leave at 11:30pm. I have been flighting TAP for many years now and it used to be one of my favorite airlines. No longer is the case. Over the years there has been a decline on service."

Cons: "The seats for a 5-hour flight couldn’t recline. The plane was freezing, there was no entertainment on the flight, and the seating wasn’t evenly distributed. There were many economy rows with only one person, then rows right next to that full with three people. The food wasn’t good either."

Cons: "Check in and bag drop took us 1 hour even though we had already checked in online. hard, and narrow seats, needs more legroom for international travel, armrest between my wife and I was very wide and wouldn't go up all the way making it extremely uncomfortable for us on a flight from Miami to Portugal. My wife's seat didn't recline because it was broken. And to top it all off they lost one of our luggage tags because the lady in Miami tagged the bag with somebody else's name and destination on it. Still waiting to hear if I'm going to have my luggage for one year anniversary vacation....!"

Cons: "I purposely got a seat in the front row for extra leg room next to my two friends whose tickets I paid for. The TV in my seat was broken and I therefore could not at all watch TV unless I moved to another seat. I ended up not being able to sit with my friends for the entire seven-hour flight. The flight was delayed multiple times. The first time it was delayed because they were doing an extra security search by hand in the Gated area awaiting to board the plane. I have never seen this in my life and it was definitely started. Then we were on board the plane for almost an hour before they made an announcement that they found a broken part on the plane and had to switch planes. It was all very fishy. Quite frankly that I want my money back."

Pros: "The staff was very nice. Only bad incident was the misinformation on getting the D Tax. We went early to the airport to do it but could not get it because of erroneous information form the check in agent."
Cons: "When we checked our bags the check in agent did not let us take out bags after getting the boarding pass so we could get the D Tax refund at Customs. She said it was not necessary. She was wrong. French customs wanted to see the merchandise which we no longer had. When we complained at TAP we were told do it in Lisbon. Again in Lisbon we could not get the D tax because that custom agent wanted to see the merchandise which was being transferred to our Lisbon - Newark flight. We loss refunds of over $400. This problem ruined a perfect trip."

Cons: "I was placed on standby for my flight and ultimately did not get a seat. It took two hours to get a new flight sorted out and it didn't leave for 2 days. A massively inconvenient experience as I had a conference to attend and missed two days."
Pros: "I was very impressed with the Ground crew who met me off the plane and had already arranged for me to go on a later flight with Emirates. If it had been possible to let me know when I was on the first flight that my onward travel had been arranged then it would have been perfect."
