I usually board by zones and this time it was more of a everyone got up at the same time and everyone rushed to the front of the lines and some people would push me out of the way to get in front. ( even though we all had assigned seating) Second thing was that I had asked for a wheelchair for my mom and I had seen one waiting outside and was about to walk up to it but another person was limping up to it and put her stuff down on it so I didn't know if it was for my mom or her. I didn't have the heart to go up and make her move if the wheelchair was for my mom so we ended up walking the whole way to customs. I felt bad for my mom afterwards because her knees ended up hurting by the time we got to customs. I would suggest holding up signs of individual names for who the wheelchair is for. Other than that everything was great"

Does not allow 2nd luggage to check in without fee. For $1000 ticket I would expect more. There are a lot of companies who provide much better service for international flights: like Virgin Atlantic, British airways, Aeroflot, etc. I don't even want to mention Asian and Gulf company with much superior service. Boarding is nightmare, they make you stand for half an hour to board! Total rip off!!!"

The lovely Customer Service rep was so sweet and concerned about my health, answered all my questions about what to do if I needed to cancel, and told me to call back anytime for more help. Also the flight attendants remembered my food allergies and were very attentive on the flights."

I had a window seat with enough legroom to stretch out my bad knee. On the flight substituted for my original flight I was given a bulkhead seat (which doesn't allow for extended knees) next to a screaming baby on her mother's lap. Luckily the flight wasn't full so I moved to a seat next to an empty one. I was told by a crew member that I wouldn't get a refund because the bulkhead seat was considered extra legroom."

The two people at the desk didn't care when I noted this. We were called to the desk in advance of boarding to check passport information. When we got to the check in line, we were taken aside for more passport checking, even though we are US citizens with Trusted Traveler status in the GOES program. We were one of the first people at the departure lounge, and one of the the last to board."

We were 50 minutes late leaving. This resulted in many of us either missing or having extremely tight (stressful) connections at CDG Paris."

Once I landed in Lisbon after the second flight that o wasn’t supposed to take. We missed the connection by 5 minutes and there were many people flying to my same destination. I had to wait 5 hours in Lisbon when I shouldn’t have ever went to Lisbon. I bought a ticket from Newark to Zürich through Porto 10 hours in total. I think TAP overbooked everyone and seated us on purpose. The secondflight was delayed due to “bad weather” and it was perfectly nice outside. Shame on TAP. I’m sure other people are complaining."

My controller for the tv didn't fit back into the holder easily at all and my husband got a blood blister trying to force it back in. Headrest to hold my head didn't stay put to give proper support while trying to sleep."

Instead TAP gave us a replacement flight to Madrid and then from Madrid to Venice A FLIGHT WITH TWO STOPS IS NOT WHAT WE WANTED OR PAID FOR. Madrid was also delayed and we missed our connection to Venice. We got a new flight from Madrid to Venice and had to wait 5 hours for it. A trip from New Jersey to Venice ended up taking OVER 24 HOURS!!!! Due to the disgraceful disorganization and service of TAP PORTUGA we missed our best friends rehersal dinner a memory we would have loved to have. Extremely disorganized, terrible customer service OH AND WE HAD TO PAY FOR OUR BAGS TWICE to get reimbursed later but I don’t believe anything Tap Portugal says so we’ll see. Staff advice did not align and they were unapologetic for the experience we received."

After booking my flight on kayak I called TAP customer service just to make sure that everything was fine .I asked them about luggage they said I had 2 free and a carry on when I got to the airport said I had to pay for the 2 i said no told them that i called TAP they didn't wanna hear it i asked for the manager she I am the manager and you bought a discounted ticket and there's no luggage with this ticket only acarry on in a mean way if you want the you have to pay $90 for each I tried to call TAP can't get through them when they finally got through them the guy confirmed that I ve called it on the records but it said now it's too late to do anything I am already at the airport that I have to pay and contact them later. I wasted good hour and a half on this and I had to pay $180. After all that at the boarding gate they announced that they will call by zone .they called especial need called frequent flyers zone A never called zone B all they said last minute was this is the final call for flight #.... and I was right in front of them and guess who were the people making the announcement yep the same people at the check in counter"

Cons: "My wife and I arrived to the airport for our honeymoon extremely excited. We had been saving for our trip to Italy for months, and we were finally going to get things started. Everything fell apart when we went to check in and we were told that my wife couldn’t use her ticket because she had changed her last name. We were told that there was no way that the name on the ticket could be changed because of TSA regulations. Of course, we were also told that we could have changed the name had we purchased a more expensive ticket. In other words, we were lied to and told the issue was regulation, when really they wouldn’t help us because we couldn’t afford a more expensive ticket. The only help we were given was the pleasure of paying over $1,500 more to get my wife on the flight. I am in the process of trying to get this refunded, but as of now we have paid twice for my wife to fly, and neither ticket has been refunded. We may have accidentally broken a rule, but the only function that rule seems to have is to make us pay twice for the same seat. As of now, I would never fly this airline again, and I would warn everyone away from it. I will update this post if TAP does the right thing by two honeymooners."

Cons: "To start off our trip we weren't allowed to get on the plane until an hour after our boarding time. After we were allowed on, the air conditioning was not working and continued to sit on the tarmac not even leaving our terminal for another two hours. Within this two hours there were many elderly people asking for help and one specific gentleman whom was in his late 70s, informed the people around him that he had a pacemaker was pleading to get some air conditioning to the point where 6 people on the airplane were fanning him off. It was 90 degrees in the airplane and we had been sitting in the plane without any help even pleading with the attendents to let the elderly off so they did not pass out. Once we reached the 2 hour mark without any ac the gentleman in his late 70s was beginning to lose consciousness and many people had to call the emergency services, and the crew on flight TP214, tried to tell us everything was fine while the plane was pulling away from the terminal ... as they were giving the man oxygen, even though the elderly gentleman had lost the ability to communicate verbally and was about to pass out. They had to pull the plane back off the tarmac fully delaying us 3 hours in the process making us miss our other two flights. Once we were finally in the air for the 6 hour flight our entertainment system was not working so we were left to twiddle our thumbs for the remainder of the trip. It really ruined what seemed to be an exciting trip and I highly doubt we would ever take TAP Portugal ever again or recommend it to anyone no matter the price."

Cons: "The airline makes money by having very low weight allowances on carry-on and checked luggages. The staff at the check in desk act like they are surprised and symphatetic about the overages meanwhile they enforce the weight limits to the gram. Most deplorable of all is the fact that they have one person on staff at a special desk where one can go to pay for the newly discovered overages. This desk and the person assigned to it full time is the proof that the company expects this kind of result before hand. Where on most continental flights the weight limit is usually set at 31 kilograms for checked-in baggages TAP Portugal has a limit of 23kg. Where most companies have no weight limit or around 20kg on carry-on baggage they have 8kg. The overages in weight result in a flat fee of $100 per luggage, even if the luggage is just one kilogram over the allowed limit. The low ticket purchase price is in my opinion a deplorable marketing scheme aimed at getting people to buy their tickets and then be faced with extra charges when it turns out weight alloweances are set at domestic standards."

Pros: "The crew was nice. When I finally arrived in Denver, Marlin in customer service was the only saving grace for United for me. When I asked for options for an earlier flight into Rapid City so I didn’t have to wait 24 hours and miss my visit with my sister, he looked at different hubs (Chicago, Minneapolis) to see if they had any available flights into Rapid, he checked for double bookings, and when he couldn’t find anything, he put me on the standby list for the first flight out in the morning and wrote down the flight information for all of the United flights from Denver for the following day. Marlin provided excellent customer service and was a huge credit to the company."
Cons: "The flight was supposed to leave at 3:56 pm and didn’t leave until 7:30 pm. I would estimate at least 15-20 people missed connecting flights because of the delay. According to the United app, the delay initially started in Portland due to mechanical issues, which took over 3 hours. Then, there was a weather delay in San Francisco according to the gate agent - there was a ground hold and no planes were landing or flying out. At some point, I would think another plane would have been an option rather than delaying a flight for this long and disrupting holiday travel for so many people."

The phone lines are operated by someone in a foreign country. And after the flight caused me an overnight layover, they offer you a measly discount voucher for a place to stay. I can only hope that someone out there is getting better treatment than the poor people I saw on this flight, or at any united desk I attempted to get help from."

United customer service was very poor and after 16 hrs. at SO without resolution on flights and schedule, we just came back home. If Siss Air could have waited 10 minutes for 12 or more passengers, we would have been fine. I don't know if United communicated with them or not. This was a disaster!"

Cons: "My final destination had a total of two flights a day available on United. The first leg I originally booked was pushed back and back and back b/c of weather. I was stuck at the Houston airport for 12 hrs after agreeing to take another one-stop flight, making it a total of three flights taking more than 24 hrs. I then had to cry to even get food vouchers. Where would I sleep? On the flor in the Houston airport, the most inhospitable airport I’ve ever been in. They have a hotel *in* the airport, but because it was “weather” causing the delay they refused to put me up. There was a woman whose birthday it was and she was trying to get to her husband having surgery the next day and a double amputee all in the same boat. It was absolutely a nightmare. I got maybe 1 hour sleep the whole night despite trying for 5-6. Never again will I fly United unless under duress or some emergency."

Turns out we get to the airport and our original connecting flight was severely delayed and we would have made it on to that flight. So either way we were stuck with a loss."

Cons: "My friend and I have taken our hiking packs to Alaska, California, Washington, and all along the East coast. Never have we been asked to check our packs. I was mostly surprised, at first. Once I was seated a man in front of me had his hiking pack and two ukuleles in their cases, neither of which could fit under his seat. That's when I became frustrated. O This plane sucks: our knees were slammed into the seat in front of us because the chairs are so close together. No USB plugs. Plane was dirty, scuff marks on the wall and ceiling. There was paper in the pouch that looked like a mouse had chewed on it."

I'm 5'10" and my knees were already brushing up against the seatback in front of me. If you push the recline button on the armrest, the chair doesn't go back (of course it doesn't, the person's legs behind me are probably up against my chair anyway). Multiple people around me were also asking around if the chairs recline. I have a mild back injury and sitting up at 90 degrees the entire way was very uncomfortable."

Cons: "We arrived late in Denver and had to sit at the gate and wait for the jetway person to arrive and connect the jetway to the plane. I also didn't like the fact that I had to buy Economy Plus because my wife and I were not only not assigned seats together after booking, we were not assigned seats at all. When I booked the flights I was only allowed to choose seats for the first flight - Charlotte to Houston...but not for the other three legs of our Charlotte to Seattle trip. The only two seats together from Houston to Seattle were in the very last row. And, on our return flight we had to purchase Economy Plus in order to sit together."
Pros: "More important than the trip home last Wednesday was the reason for the trip. We attended my granddaughter's wedding. Everything else was secondary. Even if the trip had been in a one wheeled barrow, it would have been good. To get to what you want which is the mechanics of the trip. The two people who attended to the aisle chair, most teams were competent. Some hadn't done many passengers so they were fumbling with the straps. I've learned that I almost alway have to ask for one at the gate where they check or issue, (what's it called, loading permits, some kind of pass, not landing pass. loading pass. I can't remember and my wife has gone to bed.) Well, they have to come up with an aisle chair because I've only got 1 1/2 legs. I always make it to the seat on the plane, but the competency of the various crews is uneen. Sorry my answer is so nonspecific but I don't remember one airline from another. Great people all, get the job done."

While we might have understood better had they been empathetic, they were rude and uncaring and said when you book online you sign a waiver and they can not do anything about this. Wow. This was our flight back. Originally on the way to our destination we had used Delta and that customer service experience was completely different even though that flight was full too. Never flying United again as long as I can avoid it."

I almost missed a very important event and they looked to be arguing with each other! They need to keep their personal stuff at home! I was so mad.however, the flight crew was awesome!"

They refused to let it slide and when we asked how much it would be if we left it they said it would cost us $100 for an oversized bag. We already paid the $25 so it makes no sense for it to cost $100 more. They were completely unreasonable and not helpful. Not to mention the flight was an hour late. Our flight on the way out was completely cancelled all together and no one bothered to tell either of us. Then they rerouted us on completely different flights! We had to basically throw a fit to get on the same flight, which ended up being 8 hours AFTER our original flight was supposed to leave. The entire experience was a disaster and I will never fly united again."

I was very sick and this flight was delayed so it was going to cause me to miss my connecting flight overseas. She tried all that she could to rebook me on a different flight but the problem was the destination's air traffic control, not the airplane, so it wasn't going to fix the problem. I was able to rebook my connecting flight, at a cost, but at least I wasn't going to miss it. Barb went and made me hot tea with fresh ginger, mint leaves, and honey for my throat. Through a difficult situation, she was a ray of sunshine and kindness."

Charging for in flight entertainment and meals also seems like the airlines care less for customer satisfaction than the money they can get from passangers. While boarding, we were stopped in first class because the flight attendant was in the aisle getting drinks for first class...Before all the passengers boarded. Also, why is every flight told they get one carry on plus a personal item when that isn't really the case? If the flight is full, apparently there is not enough room for each passanger to have a carry on so people who have delicate items packed in their carry ons have to surrender them and pray their precious vacation purchases aren't smashed when they get their luggage back. Quantity over quality."

You have to pay for everything. Only one flight had the TV sets on the back of the seats. The rest were paying for wifi and using your device. I bought the wifi and then it wouldn't work. It was a big waste of $10.00. Thirdly while I know the airline can't do anything about the weather, but they should schedule their flights with more of a layover. I was stuck in the air due to a storm for an hour and my layover was only for an hour. Luckily I was able to make the flight as they were closing the door. All in all just a bad experience."

Cons: "My flight was cancelled they never told me , and after I explained to them I bought this ticket two hours ago because my grandmother and uncle were dying and I needed to get there, they lied to me told me I would be on a different flight and still get there at the same time. Well my flight was not the same time it was three hours different and if I made it there like they promised the first time I would have been able to kiss my grandma one last time. She died a hour before I got there. And now I'm fighting with them for a refund."

Cons: "United had us board and unboard and then board again due to flight delays. United also told us the delay would be only 40 minutes, but I looked at the delay in SFO and it was 2 hours. Eventually United also increased our delay by 30 minute intervals until it was about 2 hours. Once I arrivied in SFO I got a text message notification stating my luggage had been put on an incorrect flight and I would have to return to get my luggage. The attendants at the podium were rude. This was my first terrible flying experience ever."

Even though weather was the main cause for the initial delay, the plane then had to be refueled while the passengers sat on the plane, the passenger Act was used not one (but almost twice) and then air traffic control wouldn't organize the retake- off in a timely manner."

Arrived late to Denver because of weather, but my stroller that I had left on the jetway in Seattle was never put on the plane which I didn't know until I got to minot. I was going to wait for it in denver, but I would have missed my flight to minot had I waited 5 more minutes. We arrived to minot only to find out that our 3 suitcases, one stroller and 2 car seats were never in the flight. Awful! And my connecting flight was even delayed an extra 55 min so I don't quite know where my things are."

I was at the gate before the plane detached and the guy said I should be on the plane 15 min before and that he wasn't going to stop the plane from going. I had a business meeting that I was trying to get to so him doing this completely ruined my day and purpose for flying and spending $300 on a flight. I have NEVER experienced anything like this. Once on my rescheduled flight the attendant made several comments about the fact that I had a pillow with me. If you don't know someone situation then you should make any comments at all. I had just finished a 5 day drive across country and unfortunately the pillow needed to get home with me. Not a single employee was kind welcoming or helpful. I will never fly with this airline again. I will be letting EVERYONE I speak to know about this experience and I plan on writing reviews wherever I can find."

I was told I couldn't get on the flight with 3 bags, even though all 3 would fit under the seat. The free entertainment contained a grey box over part of the image reminding I could pay for more. Was only given a tiny glass of soda, I remember when they would give a can. I will consider another airline in the future."

I tried United after many years but will be returning to Southwest Airlines - in the long run it's less expensive. I realize nothing will change based on my opinion, regardless, it is more comfortable and dignified to take a Greyhound bus than to fly a major airline these days."

Cons: "5 hrs delay and missed all connecting flights. Airline initially rescheduled flight 2 days later. Called Kayak and got no support. Kayak agent told us to keep pushing the airline. After 2 hrs of "working" with the airline, we were able to fly into Madrid the following day. Had to spend extra money for hotel room and car rental in Madrid because our final destination was Sevilla. Will never work with Azores or Kayak again. BTW, did we mention that while "working" with Azores to reschedule flight, we were booked to fly into an island off of Africa. Luckily, we followed up online with the changed itinerary."

Cons: "Flights on Azores Airlines/SATA are always delayed. It is a shame that it is the only airline that flies to Terceira Island. They delay flights due to "operational issues" because they cannot get their stuff together. The crew was also unfriendly and while we were already 4 hours delayed one of the crew members (leader) had the audacity to tell her team "why are you guys in a hurrry for?" HELLO! We are already lady. Work harder and faster so we can make up some time. The food was disgusting and they barely give you anything to drink. Also, the planes are very old. Seats uncomfortable, no leg room, no TVs and stink."

No entertainment visible from our seats and the headphones didn't work. Flight from BOS was much of the same. NEVER FLYING SATA AGAIN!"
Cons: "Airline was 2 hours late and missed our connection which made us miss our first port for our cruise we then had to make other arrangements while the airline did nothing to help. I would NEVER FLY with them again."

Cons: "The process of checking in for this flight was horrendous. First of all, I was planning to carry on my bags and check in online. However, the online system wouldn't let me print my boarding pass, so I had no option but to wait in line at the airport. I arrived over 2 hours before my flight, and the scene was jaw dropping. The line to check in on Azores Airlines wrapped all the way around the terminal and was divided into three separate sections so that people could continue pass through the airport. There was no Azores Airlines staff to be found to provide directions or manage the situation, so people kept going into the wrong lines not knowing what the heck was going on. It actually turned out several people had waited in line for an hour for a different flight before realizing they were in the wrong line. Anyways, after a mind-numbing, almost two hour wait, I checked in and went to my gate. The whole flight was delayed since the check-in was so slow. I have no idea what the cause of such a terrible check-in line was, but the Azores Airlines management at the Providence Airport are definitely doing something wrong, and I will avoid flying from there again at all costs!"

Cons: "- There are no more direct flights into Terceira (coming from the U.S.A.) which is ridiculous!!! - Both flights were delayed. The one from Boston to São Miguel was delayed 4 hours. The flight from São Miguel to Terceira was delayed in 30 minutes. - As if the delay wasn't enough, we had to return to gate as the plane prepared for takeoff because of technical problems. SATA (Azorean Airlines) international planes are too old..."

Also I am 6' 3" but wouldn't recommend anyone over 6' fly this airline, at least not in the normal economy seats- I've never had the experience of being unable to move my legs due to the seat in front."

Cons: "Delayed 4 times without explanation. No option to select vegetarian meal at time of ticket purchase or check in. Boarding is a free for all. No order, just a mass of people funneling in to get through the gate. Then had to get on a shuttle bus to the plane... which took us to the wrong plane. Boarding the plane is also a free for all. The disorganization must have at least doubled the required boarding time."

Pros: "The flight crew was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with our 3-year-old son. He keeps asking to go on plane again because of how attentive they were and made his trip very enjoyable."

Cons: "We had changes to pretty much every leg of our flights. One was delayed by 2.5 hours. I understand that flights get delayed but they hardly gave us any information as to what was going on. The flight was pretty smooth but the flight attendants didn't seem interested in our comfort. They weren't rude but they weren't pleasant either. I guess I'm used to a different style of service that I did not receive on Azores."
