I was charged $50 dollars for the check-in luggage that I was not happy. I booked the airticket very early so I was not sure the weight of my luggage would be. I get used to have the free check- in luggage
so I forgot about it until I did it at the airport.
I prefer the airline to have the charge including the luggage into the airfare than check how many Kg of luggage the customers take at the airport. This makes the procedure of check-in take more time.
Entertainment system doesn't have a touch screen like other airlines. They give you ear but buds instead of head phones. Alright they gave us headphones for our young son you had to put the foam covers on yourself and they kept coming off. Not a very good selection of movies. Good is bland and not very good options.
I lost something before boarding and a member of the Jetstar flight personnel was amazing: he went beyond the call of duty to secure my belongings with ground staff.
It offsets an easier bad experience with Jetstar I had a few months before.

I don't anything about JetStar. This is my second time flying with them. First time delayed 2 hours both ways. No explanation on why it is delay. No weather issues on both sides. This time it was delay 3 times and a total of 8 hours wasted in the airport. Now return flight I got noticed that it will be delay for another 4 hours. Now I don't feel confident about this airlines will ever be on time. They might hit me with more delays. I hope not.
I don't like that there is no explanation on the delay and their only explanation is operation requirement. What does that mean? Does not explain anything. You pay cheap flight u get headaches. Next time I pay more for better reliable service. Jet Star I told everyone not to fly with your company again. It is terrible experience.
When I booked from USA thru kayak I was told I would have 1 checked bag & 1 carry on . At airport I was charged $682 for luggage cause " I didn't say I was flying with luggage "supposedly opting out of the $ 35.00 fee for luggage. Only other option was to re-book for next day loosing out of bookings in Cairns which was not an option. Many other passengers on our flight faced same predatory practices by Jetstar. Gate agent said website changed to be more transparent. This is not true Luggage fees more than doubled cost of flight. This is only direct flight from Adelaide and you're trapped ."
Maybe a mistake on our part but we were u aware we didn't receive any free luggage with our trip. We ended up paying $600 for 4 bags for a family of 4 at the airport counter. We had no choice and we were stuck. It was infuriating, the lack of knowledge and OUTRAGEOUS prices. Not only do you have to pay for your luggage but you pay insane amounts. You are offered nothing on the flight. We will probably never fly jet star again.
seating is too tight for a normal size person, and they nickel and dime you to death just to select a seat, get a blanket for entertainment which I don't know what that would be....... and a drink can cost up too six dollars heaven forbid a little bag of peanuts or crackers........
JetStar was the only carrier offering a non-stop from Adelaide to Cairns. That's why we chose it.
Be aware that you get a 7 kg carry-on allowance, and pay for checked luggage, by weight. Cheapest to buy when you book the ticket, can be purchased before you get to the airport, and very expensive at the airport. Seats are jammed together, very little legroom.
Best to know going in that it is a low-cost, no frills, no space airlines.
The boarding process went well and was organized. The cabin staff was welcoming and very presentable. The seats were fine, even in economy. The uniforms on the cabin staff were attractive andnthey looked well on the girls. The staff, both male and female, were friendly and pleasant. The flight was fine, a little late, but not the fault of the airline. I would fly this airline again.
