Pros: "Sitting in my seat I felt that I had wiggle room for my feet and my arms/elbows. Usually on American flights, I feel like a sardine packed in a can. Even though I was in economy I had plenty of space and was very comfortable during 9 hour flight from BKK to Tokyo."

Pros: "The flight attendants were very attentive and polite, seats are some of the most comfortable of any airline I've flown (particularly compared to the US domestics), entertainment is solid (although the English movie selection was not that large), and we were regularly offered food and drink if we were awake. I would definitely recommend JAL to others."

When we arrived February 16th they stated we were "standby" after a debated discussion they found us some seats at the very back of the plane (not our selected seats). On our flight back they had us, my husband and I seating in separate sections on the plane (again not our selected seats) 6 rows away from each other. I will NOT recommend using Kayak in the future. This caused a lot of stress on me however, the Japan airlones Crew escorted me (we ran as fast as we could) to my next flight so that I wouldn’t miss it. I boarded with 1 minute to spare which is way too close for my comfort."

The seat belt on light and bell were kept at minimal, in contrast to other airlines like EVA, China Airlines, Korean Airlines and United Airlines."

Cons: "I thought I had ordered a vegetarian meal when I booked the flight roughly 1.5 months prior to my trip. However, when the meal was being served, there was only a chicken or pork option and my vegetarian meal had either not been properly booked or had been forgotten. When I informed the staff, I was asked to show proof that I ordered a veggie meal. I could not pull up my email confirmation as we were flying and there was no internet access. I had to lug my bag out of the overhead and search for a print out confirmation. I had not come prepared with the "evidence" the stewardess wanted. While the staff tried to be polite, I also found them to be quite rude, demanding that I produce evidence. Could they not have simply given me an extra salad without all the fuss? I felt I was being treated as a criminal for requesting a veggie meal that had, unfortunately, not been recorded in their system."

I used to every time get excited to fly with Thai. this time i had two Thai connections between Tokyo - Bankgkok and Bangkok-Delhi, both times my two young minor children were automatically seated away from me and each other also during checkin process. it took a lot of time and convincing the agent to get my own children seated with me on long international flights! Food service was worse than expect for name of Thai airways!"

Pros: "The crews on ANA (Flight Attendants) are the hardest working, most polite and service oriented of ANY carrier I can remember. When the cabin lights are ON, the crew is hustling to keep the passengers occupied and chewing. Free Beer, Wine and mixed drinks in Coach! Every Service - Snack, Drinks, Lunch, Dinner, Coffee/Tea, Second and Third rounds of drinks includes a cold towel to wipe your face and hands and most important, trash is collected promptly EVERY single time. WOW. I noticed that Flight Attendants take notes on sleeping passengers for every major meal service, and they take the time to revisit those customers when awake to check they might have wanted to be fed. I also noticed that the crew has special double sided tape to pickup crumbs and spills in the aisles so grime is not tracked into the carpet. Dont be surprized to see a flight attendant cruising the aisle after dinner with a soft cooler full of small vanilla Hagen Daz cups..."
Cons: "We flew from Bangkok to Washington Dulles with a connection in Tokyo. Snow in Japan caused crew shifts to max out and ultimately a dramatic change in flight departure. (Guaranteeing a missed connection) This caused multiple downstream challenges. 1. Original flight was scheduled for 00:30. (Half Past Midnight), rescheduled flight was scheduled for 12:30 (Half Past Noon) For Americans unused to a 24 hour clock, this made emails From ANA very difficult to wrap your mind around. Was it a typo? What happens when you miss your connection? (Turns out weather delays do NOT result in accommodations or meals being provided) Rescheduled flight should have been for 1231 with (AM/PM in Parentheses) 2. For passengers who spent their vacation/trip near the equator, the prospect of spending the night in snowbound Tokyo was simply not addressed in the cancellation email. The better option was to stay in your original point of origin and make the connection in one day, but email has NO telephone number for passengers to call to make these arrangements. (We ended up calling a toll California telephone number to be sure we got an English speaking agent) 3. Many SE Asian departing cities have a crazy baggage weight policy that allows for Two bags of 25 Kilos each , but if you have a single bag that weights 32 Kilos, you must pay excess baggage. Although the policy may NOT be specific to ANA, there are hundreds of folks of all nationalities repacking suitcases on the floor of the airport, to try to meet the regulations. As a traveler I understand this, but as an ANA customer it makes no sense, especially when the ticket agent cannot charge the overage to a credit card at the ticket counter. Instead sending you to a different location then waiting for you to return with a receipt. Its a huge scam and ANA can do better communicating the rules to passengers via email or their web site. Nothing starts a long trip off worse than arguments over arcane rules. 4. Changing a return flight arrangement as a result of weather happens at the last moment, but seat assignments apparently could not keep up. I would rather NOT fly than face a center seat in coach for 14 hours. I cannot explain what happened, but repeated attempts at advance check in showed NO assigned seats available, the ticket and gate agents could not improve on this, but BOTH flights ended up having empty seats and in the end we stressed for nothing. ANA must be able to do better, improving their IT systems to make advance seat assignments possible no matter how challenging the problem of "equipment" and other changes in the face of a canceled flight."

Also a problem with boarding at HND where the overhead monitors show BIz but not First/Diamond. As some other reviews pointed out, BBC news just didn't work. CNN worked intermittently."

Cons: "Asiana Airline allowed a drunken passenger sit next to me. Everyone can smell and knew that he is drunken. The 1st thing he did after sitting was drinking alcohol from his pocket. Yes, one of the staff came to him and got the drink from him. But, he talked me for about 4hours nonstop and made me uncomfortable at all. Other passengers around me saw him because he talked too loud. I expected that they would offer me another sit and left him alone. During 10 hrs flight, I had 2 Tylenol capsules because of the smell of the alcohol from him. It was REALLY hard time for me to sit next to him during 10 hrs. DO NOT ALLOW A DRUNKEN PERSON TO GET ON A PLAIN FOR OTHERS."

Cons: "Gate at Philadelphia was tiny with not enough space for everyone on the plane, it was a 6 hour flight and no snacks beyond pretzels were available-not even for purchase. I'd just come off an 8 hour international flight where I was provided lunch, ice cream, a pot pie snack and frequent beverage service. Somehow as soon as you are flying domestic on a slightly shorter flight American Airlines thinks its okay to treat customers like garbage-nothing but some sad pretzels and 2 rounds of drink service was provided for a 6 hour flight. The seats were super uncomfortable with no head rest, no personal entertainment devices were provided, and there was no general entertainment for the whole plane-seriously I've never been so bored. I would have fallen asleep from boredom but the seat was too uncomfortable so I couldn't even do that. The plane landed in Seattle but sat without unloading passengers for 20 minutes because the gate crew wasn't ready. We didn't get our checked baggage for over an hour after landing. When asked, customer service reps said that the S gate was far from baggage claim-seriously I'm not sure how that is a reasonable excuse. Other airlines arrive into S gates and have timely baggage claim service. American Airlines has no standard for timely baggage claim service like other airlines (Alaska) so there were no repercussions for such late baggage service. We left the airport with our luggage over 90 minutes after the plane landed. The entire experience is just another example of American Airlines of why the terrorists won't even fly American Airlines. I was seriously disappointed to find out that the British Airways flights we booked were operated by American instead of BA crews. I seriously will never select this option (or fly American) again if I can help it."

Cons: "There weren’t any USB chargers which was confusing because the flight was 5+ hours long. There were no media options either, or blankets and the plane got cold."

Cons: "This agent spent 30+ min to check us in through a connection flight to Seattle. He couldn't find my wife's reservation, when it should be in the same reservation as me. He tried 5 times, and still failed. Later we found out at the gate that he was using the wrong name (same last name, different first name). Luckily the American Airline agent at the gate was more than competent and efficient to correct the issue in 5 min."

Cons: "The worst flight attendant I have ever seen."

Pros: "Nothing. Someday the airline industry will be disrupted and we'll all remember this and say, "can you believe what we used to put up with, and how expensive it was?!""
Cons: "No decent food available, they ran out. People allowed to play movies loudly with no headphones for 5 hours straight. Uncomfortable seats with no cushioning."

Cons: "We were delayed an hour because the plan was in the hanger! Why? We were all there, didn't American know the plane should be at he gate! No escplanation as to why the plane was not there other than it was in the hanger! Airlines need to let the customers be flexible especially when are!"

Pros: "It was not a full flight, so I was given an aisle instead of a middle seat...for which I was grateful."
Cons: "Flight was 6 hours...almost as much as my previous international flight, yet food and drink was only available for purchase. No entertainment options. Plus, wireless was $21! I needed to work and had to purchase, but that is really quite a rip off compared to other airlines."

Cons: "My luggage was damaged and I have yet to hear from an American Airlines representative after I was not ok with a replacement from a luggage company that did not reflect my current luggage brand. Being in the Customer Sevice industry I know this is unacceptable, I would never replace a damaged item with one that was not like the original or ask a customer to do so. I will not fly American Airlines any longer."

Cons: "I asked the woman at the gate prior to boarding if there were electrical outlets on the plane. She looked it up and said, its an Airbus, yes they have outlets at each seat. I didn't worry too much about charging my devices at my layover because I knew I could charge them on the plane. When I got on it was clear that there was no outlets, no video on the backs of seats, no devices being handed out for purchase. Nothing. I'm definitely used to more updated planes, but I would have been ok without the misinformation. I ended up on a 4 hr flight bored out of my gourd—which could have been avoided."

Cons: "Going through immigration in Dallas is a disaster. The wait is eternal. None-US passengers seemed to get processed faster."

Cons: "Despite arriving more than an hour ahead of time, I had to wait in a long line to get to the ticket counter and by the time I got there the assistant refused to check my bag. I then had the choice of catching another flight standby, possibly not even arriving on the same day, or changing my ticket for an obscene amount of money. I hope to never deal with AA again."

Now it is endured to get on a trip."

Cons: "After being in DFW airport for 10hrs all I wanted to do was watch a movie on board and sleep. Go figure, my TV didn't work. I called the attendant and she said she would reset them. The "resetting process" took a while. She attempted, and the other stewardess did as well. They said that the TV issue that *some* of the people were experiencing wasn't able to be fixed by them and only by the company that provides it's service. So there wasn't anything that could be done. I know that at least the two guys that were traveling next to me had issues with the tv monitors as well. It was just driving it home that I will never fly on American Airlines again. I don't ask for much these days while flying, it's not like it's a luxury anymore. But the saddest part is that customer satisfaction is completely out of the question. Just pay the extra money and fly another airline. -Deidre Fugate"

This is simply poor personnel management. They should have a back-up plan if an employee falls ill. One that doesn't involve flying in an employee from another region of the country, let alone another state. The inefficiency continued on the return flight when it took a whole hour for the luggage to come out! Will avoid flying American again at any cost."

Pros: "Flight was on time. Was able to move from my assigned centre of row seat to an aisle seat, which however was I'm the last row outside the toilets. Checked bag came quickly in Seattle. Descent was gradual enough, or something, that my ears, which normally hurt excruciatingly from about 20,00-10,000 feet, barely bothered me."
Cons: "Check in, customs, etc in Toronto was a series of long long lines that took nearly 1.5 hours (not AC's fault but an unpleasant aspect of the trip). Plane was full and very cramped, impossible to get up and walk. The tv monitors on my side/half of the plane conked out midway through flight."

Pros: "Air Canada's cabin attendents make the journey bearable. Keep these people at all costs, becauae they are doing a fantastic job."
Cons: "I prefer the old-fashioned seatback monitor to rental ipads."

Pros: "Service was great, food provided on our international flight was delicious and more than plenty. Beverages were tasty, the check-in and boarding process was very smooth and well organized. My wife and I definitely had a great experience."
