Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "The captain was very professional"
Cons: "Departure was late because of problem with thrust reversers. Once the plane started to push back after 1,5 hours delay, we had to return to the gate for another 30 mins because of an error on the maintenance logbook entry."
Cons: "Entertainment. If the crew communicated with each other. There were multiple incorrect announcements."
Pros: "I got to Miami safely"
Cons: "The communication regarding delays, flight attendants with manners and decent attitudes, preparation for flight before passengers boarded. The flight attended that made announcements needs to be CANCELLED. Her attitude was repulsive. Do better sweetheart."
Cons: "Boarded too many people and there key bridge filled up. Also, on a night flight just skip the credit card ad and let me get to sleep"
Pros: "My seat"
Pros: "The Crew was great. Very courteous and respectful."
Cons: "Better communication. Flight was delayed but passengers were not notified right away. We were notified after we were supposed to have boarded already."
Pros: "Some crew were friendly."
Cons: "Your seats and leg room are terrible...but you already know that. I am not at all overweight but I am tall and I dread 9 hours in your planes. Fortunately I was able to move to an exit row (without paying over $100 that your company wanted to charge me)."
Pros: "Gate for flight to Paris from Chicago was changed at least 4 times. At the gate boarding was supposed to start at 10:15. Kept getting delayed until 11pm and then it finally got cancelled. Noone directed us on what to do. It is 20hours later and I still haven't made it 6to my destination."
Cons: "My luggage is lost and none of the American Airlines have been able to locate it. I will never fly with American Airlines again."
Pros: "All the crew were pleasant"
Cons: "There was a delay but we weren’t well informed"
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "Snack selection was poor"
Pros: "Had pre assigned seats and American changed without saying anything."
Pros: "Nice to see the airline boarded and took off on-time. Kudos to the airline for actually having a meal option for breakfast without dairy for folks like me that are lactose intolerant. Oats were delicious"
Cons: "Boarding group 6 was awkward. Crazy American Airlines lady kept yelling at the first two passangers to use blue lane to board, which we were already walking in, pointing to us and repeating herself in a rude manner that made us pause and question ourselves that we were in the right lane! So we got out of the lane only to have 5 passengers cut in front of us. Idiot lady misdirecting passengers. Poorly handled."
Pros: "the movies selection was quite nice"
Cons: "I have to run to get to my connection flight"
Pros: "Attentive and caring flight crew. Speedy and efficient boarding."
Cons: "Food was not that great. Entertainment Monitor kept freezing which was a bit annoying."
Cons: "Boarding could be improved if they would start boarding from the back of the plane to the front after boarding 1st class and Priority this way people would not block the passage when putting their luggage in the top compartments. The crew was not very helpful because I almost went into a hypothermia condition because the air in the cabin was extremely cold. When I ask for a blanket one of the stewardesses said that AA would no longer have blankets in flight which I prove it wrong when I saw in the flight Mai-SDQ blanquets all over the cabin. The soliton they gave me was that they would ask the crew to raise the temp in the cabin, I had to make the request three times and I had to tell the stewardess that if not raising the temperature in the cabin I could have gone into an emergency hypothermia crisis. I had to take another shirt from my carry-on to put it over my shirt to warm me up."
Cons: "This flight was delayed by almost 5 hours. While I understand there are some delays sometimes, this was the ONLY flight to Greensboro out of DCA, and the times kept changing throughout the day, even though the gate agents knew that the issue was that the crew was delayed. There should be backup crew available and when there are delays, the passengers should be kept informed. There should be other flight options available when this happens. I never received an apology from anyone I encountered throughout the process, and some personnel were rude even though I was polite."
Cons: "2 of our screens didn’t have audio working so couldn’t watch movies :-(. - assistants rebooted the systems but that didn’t help :-("
Pros: "We did get home. 24 hours late."
Cons: "We got home 24 hours late after sleeping in chairs in Dallas airport."
Cons: "Seats are cramped"
Pros: "The flight crew was awesome. Hate staff were great the check in staff were not helpful at all"
Cons: "Kiosk to print luggage tag did not work properly. Not enough people helping prior to A flight. Ground staff was not helpful at all. Had me wait in line for 15 mins to check a bag then could not check the bag, gate staff was very good."
Pros: "The agents kept us posted"
Cons: "The delay but it happens"
Pros: "The customer service/ticket agent skipped her lunch break to get us on the plane. She went way beyond the call of duty. We will be eternally grateful."
Cons: "Plane was delayed over an hour!"
Pros: "The crew was very cheerful, professional, and helpful. The food was also surprisingly good."
Cons: "The entertainment system failed a few hours into the flight, which is a big problem for an 8 hour intercontinental flight."
Pros: "The fact that the plane landed."
Cons: "American Airlines is running neck and neck with United, competing for the world’s worst airline. They have crammed so many seats onto their planes that I’m surprised it isn’t a health hazard. I was in an aisle seat and every time I started to fall asleep, someone going down the aisle slammed into me, making any sort of rest impossible. And the flight attendants had the typical U.S. flight attendant perma-rage, of course. I feel sorry for them, underpaid and overworked, but always p***ed off. Anerican Airlines needs to look at Emirates and other non-U.S. carriers to learn how to treat their passengers."
Pros: "Everything else"
Pros: "Paid extra for more legroom"
Cons: "No Free WiFi"
Pros: "Loved exit row as a surprise when I boarded!"
Cons: "$8 white wine is crazy expensive. But loved the Sav Blanc from France!"
Cons: "A hot breakfast would have been nice."
Pros: "Great service. And flight and food"
Pros: "The crew."
Cons: "Tiny plane, old. No leg space at all (I'm 5.5). Our connection before this flight was a 1 hour flight on a modern very spacious airplane, we wished we could've flown on the same plane for the 6+ flight to Paris."
Cons: "Missed this connection"
Pros: "Each person having their own screen for movies and Tv is great! Food good/ too much but spaced apart very well...overall excellent service"
Cons: "Being pulled aside prior to boarding because we did I not have a sticker on our passports... otherwise boarding was excellent!"
Pros: "Everything ran smoothly despite turbulence and bad weather, thanks to the crew."
Cons: "Seating is even more cramped than I'm used to, and everything outside of a drink and a biscuit is extra money."
Pros: "Since chek-in gate number changed two times. Outdated airplane especially for international flight. In flight meal could be better. Compare with other US airlines AA needs serious improvements in customer service."
Pros: "The landing was great!"
Cons: "Crew not very friendly but thats normal in AA"
Pros: "inflight entertainment was good; food was so-so"
Cons: "Our flight was 'delayed' and as a result had to be put on another connecting flight. Many people on the same flight missed their connecting flights because of it. Because of all the re-booking they had to do, we nearly missed our flight as well. AA is also horrible at boarding."
Cons: "First, the original 90 minute layover became 8 hours with the old buy this scheduled ticket and 3 weeks later we will switch it to 7 hours. After a 8 hour red-eye, it was brutal. BA was an hour late taking off from London to Warsaw. The onboard experience was charge for everything. No sodas, water, nuts, etc. Oh and boarding, cmon. The gold, silver and special people go first. I think that was 5 people. The other 150 plus, you are on your own, go. You have your typical isle 5 person holding up the entire loading procedure, trying to get their oversized bag in the overhead, versus loading from the back. Wow."
Pros: "Just being able get home."
Cons: "After madly rushing to get to the gate, we found out 5 minutes before scheduled boarding time that there would be a 15 minute delay in boarding. After that, we were told there would be another 30 minute delay. Once we were on board and the cabin doors were closed we were told there would be another 55 minute delay. Also, LGA is such a mess these days due to construction and would have been nice to get an email notification beforehand about it. We barely made our outgoing flight!"
Cons: "Crew member had poor attitude. Not all just one seem to be having a bad day"
Pros: "the plane, a 380, had comfortable seats, fewer occupants, more and easier access to bathrooms, did not like the larger plane I flew on going to Australia, it held 700 persons could physically reach the lights and when on, they didn't disturb anyone vegetarian food was delicious and nutritionally sound and varied love the soft blankets"
Cons: "not a very good choice of current movies"
Pros: "Service was excellent!"
Cons: "Flight was delayed due to a "computer problem" that was subsequently deemed to be eligible for a paperwork fix."
Cons: "No food. No entertainment"
Pros: "Everything. I was amazed and extra appreciative that my checked bag made what turned out to be a very tight connection! Thanks!"
Cons: "Everything was great. I would like to connect that it would be nice to have a not applicable rating option for food and entertainment as they are often not applicable but having to choose something effects the overall rating."
Cons: "I bought an upgrade seat for $22 and I was disappointed because the seat was worse then the seat I gave up"
Cons: "flight was canceled not warned 12 hours waited at the airport just terrible service"
Cons: "Delays. Always with the delays. An hour to take off and 30 minutes to land? I changed my flight because my father is dying of cancer, you charge me 200 extra for this? These planes shouldn't be allowed to fly. There's efficiency and there's just plain uncomfortable. Too tight. Small seats."
