Drink service was spotty, very limited and not pleasant. The meals were skimpy on portions, and variety. Only two meals and no snacks were provided. Was difficult getting more beverages. Only beer and wine. Small seats but then every airline has small seats these days. Seats also do not recline as hey once did

got us there on time, Customer care was helpful but wish there was an easier way to fix a problem at the airport instead of calling in to a help desk.

they didn't have the arrival cards for me, which they usually do. Traveling with 4 kids by myself and having to do customs by myself without the time on the plane to work through the cards made it difficult. Also there was a typing error on one of my children's tickets that was an airline error but still requires a phone call from me and a fine to fix even with the plane leaving in one hour and having three other children at the gate waiting. There has to be an easier way to fix a mistake that happens in the airport.

The flight was canceled but United and delta were still flying to New York. Air China was not working with them to help us. The earliest next flight was five days later...... their staff were extremely unprofessional. I asked to update to business class. One staff told me it was 1300usd, another one told me it was 3600usd, and one told me it was 10,000 usd???

They cancel the flight from Hk to Beijing when you ask when no answer nothing organized . In Beijing I wait hours to get a standby ticket to United and their English very bad. After we got the standby ticket they take us to hotel and they wanna set every 2 in a room and I said no I won't stay with someone I don't know and they refuse I end by my own room out of my bucket . This airline shouldn't be a star alliance. I will never book with them no more

Flight departed An hour late but caught up time on route. service was cold, rude and lazy. Many passenger brought food trash tray to the station by themselves. Bathroom was gross. Food was salty and I requested water and I was ignored. I finally raised my voice and start asking their names because I would write a complain. Tha started all hassle for me. Long story short, I was demanded to identify if I held Chinese or US passport... I have written a letter to United CEO. I got reply that I would get a reply in 24-48 hours. I'm waiting. My second leg was two hours delay from Chicago to Boston.

those FA should be fired, especially the one who demanded to identify my nationality.

My legs hurt during the flght and I couldn't get pills for air sickness, plus a half-an-hour delay. Also, my screen didn't work properly, which needs repair.

The flight was so short we did not even get a snack, only an offer of a bottle of water; this was simply due to to short length of the flight. Basic economy had my wife and I 16 rows apart each in a middle seat. I was in the very last seat on the plane. Flight attendants were attentive and surprisingly very nice, legroom is non-existent (same as every flight in plain coach).

High cost to prebook seats was twice what Spirit or Frontier would charge

Our flight from Toronto to Houston was cancelled. The staff at the arrival counter was very slow and rude. We wanted to leave by the United flight which was leaving in an hour or so but the supervisor was not willing to do anything. We ordered Asian vegetarian food and it was horrible. Never again Air Canada.

The extra $50 seats were roomy.

Flight was delayed and no one knew why!... Plane had been sitting ready at the airport for hours. Novice flight attendants, they each picked on different things others missed just before them. No consistency, seats left reclined during takeoff and landing for example. One way there was drink service once even though it was a smooth flight and the return had drink service twice even though it was bumpier! Entertainment does NOT work on androids, it is NOT the AirCanada app they tell you to download prior to the flight, it's an AirCanadaRouge.pk file that needs to be downloaded in flight! Which means we're stuck paying for the iPad and of course only with cc because there's no wifi for debit cards.... AC needs to stop this insanely mediocre and yet expensive monopoly.

We were delayed over an hour because flight got in late from Halifax, I get it, stuff happens. Then once boarded we sat there for another 45 minutes. The pilot comes on over the speaker and explains we aren't leaving because the crew didn't have the proper paper work in the cabin...

I think the air quality on the flight from Toronto to Seoul was bad. I felt really neaseous for most of that flight and thought I would be sick on the landing. the illness went away completely once I landed and I didn’t experience it on the Asiana flight from Seoul to Phuket

Inexpensive tickets. New appearing airplanes.

Everything else was sub-par or terrible, especially to return home (see below). Of the 3 flights I took on Hainan Airlines, 2 were international and 1 was domestic (within China). Generally speaking, the service was terrible-- especially the international flights. On the first flight from Chicago to Beijing, I was traveling with my 8-year-old. Unfortunately, she spilled her drink all over the seat. We struggled to communicate our needs to clean up the spill, as no one spoke English. This may not be surprising for a China-based company, but flights to the United States should include staff with limited English skills. Not only did the staff not appreciate our needs for a basic issue (providing TWO cocktail napkins), they did absolutely nothing to help deal with the situation. To make matters worse, we did not receive our meal-of-choice for either the initial meal or the pre-arrival meal. I found this surprising, since we were served relatively early in the economy class cabin. The domestic flight was another issue. In short, the flight was delayed more than 6 hours for weather. While not Hainan's fault, our departure gate was changed THREE times in 6 hours -- causing significant frustration. Several passengers even fought with the gate agent before the police were called. Finally, our return flight was the worst of all three legs. Again, we did not receive our meal–of– choice. Trying to please my 8-year-old, I asked for the fish. I was a matter-of-factly told that there was no more fish. When I pushed the issue, they "miraculously" found fish, ten feet away on the cart in the next aisle. I asked if he could check for second fish, and the flight attendant acted perturbed. He told me that he cannot make any guarantees, but he would check. I never got the fish -- and he NEVER bothered to check back to see if I would like any of the other entrées. We were then presented with long stretches (i.e., hours) with very little to drink. We were given drinks maybe three times over the course of 12 hours, but I was dying of thirst, made worse by the hot and stuffy cabin. When the flight attendant came by the third time, he provided ice to the person across the aisle. Surprised by seeing ice for the first time I'm 3 legs, I also asked for ice. Again, I was told "we have no more ice. I responded with, "Of course you don't." His response – "is there a problem?" When I expressed my disappointment, he simply walked off. I then got his attention again and pointed out that he never returned with an entrée. Again, no response. In short, the flights are cheap, but I would suggest another airline.

Improper handling of situation. There was flight scheduled later, but CS agent kept jerking us around. By the time I reached the United counter, the next flight was full. My total flight time was 36 hours. I still can’t believe that the pilot was missing. Worse yet, the agent at the gate could have made things much easier instead of telling everyone that a pilot was on his way to the airport.

There is nothing to like about Air Canada anymore.. unless you happen to like the abuse and indifferent service. Employees seem disengaged.

AC used to be mindful or customers with connections. This is the reason I booked all segments with air canada. Found out the hard way it is no longer the case. Lesson learned. Missed connection and ended up on stand by for the next flight ( no more protected seats folks). Was not even refunded the money paid for seat assignment on the missed connection.

NOTHING !! I lost my flight because in the email I received you all put the wrong airline on it and nobody took responsability for it . I ended up paying $311.00 to get the next flight back to Austin .

In the email it was stated that my first flight was with British Airways, so i wasted time making the wrong line . Only to get to the counter and waste more tome trying to find me in the system to then tell me my flight is with American Airline . I double check my email where it clearly shows: 1st flight-British Airway and 2nd flight-American Airline . This is not acceptable, nobody wants to take responsability for sending me the wrong information in the email. Had I know both of my flights were with American Airline I wouldn’t lost my plane because I would make the right line to begin with .

We spent 2 hours at the check in because China eastern changed our connecting time and we were going to miss our flight. The food was terrible, they lost my husbands luggage. We are on our honeymoon and he has no clothes. And they put us up in a very dirty hotel.

Snack only for meal. Again limited beverages. Spotty service. Rude passenger behind me. Which is not Airlines fault I would not and will not ever recommend this Airlines or Shanghai airport again. Will do all my I can to avoid this experience again

Everything else was sub-par or terrible, especially to return home (see below). Of the 3 flights I took on Hainan Airlines, 2 were international and 1 was domestic (within China). Generally speaking, the service was terrible-- especially the international flights. On the first flight from Chicago to Beijing, I was traveling with my 8-year-old. Unfortunately, she spilled her drink all over the seat. We struggled to communicate our needs to clean up the spill, as no one spoke English. This may not be surprising for a China-based company, but flights to the United States should include staff with limited English skills. Not only did the staff not appreciate our needs for a basic issue (providing TWO cocktail napkins), they did absolutely nothing to help deal with the situation. To make matters worse, we did not receive our meal-of-choice for either the initial meal or the pre-arrival meal. I found this surprising, since we were served relatively early in the economy class cabin. The domestic flight was another issue. In short, the flight was delayed more than 6 hours for weather. While not Hainan's fault, our departure gate was changed THREE times in 6 hours -- causing significant frustration. Several passengers even fought with the gate agent before the police were called. Finally, our return flight was the worst of all three legs. Again, we did not receive our meal–of– choice. Trying to please my 8-year-old, I asked for the fish. I was a matter-of-factly told that there was no more fish. When I pushed the issue, they "miraculously" found fish, ten feet away on the cart in the next aisle. I asked if he could check for second fish, and the flight attendant acted perturbed. He told me that he cannot make any guarantees, but he would check. I never got the fish -- and he NEVER bothered to check back to see if I would like any of the other entrées. We were then presented with long stretches (i.e., hours) with very little to drink. We were given drinks maybe three times over the course of 12 hours, but I was dying of thirst, made worse by the hot and stuffy cabin. When the flight attendant came by the third time, he provided ice to the person across the aisle. Surprised by seeing ice for the first time I'm 3 legs, I also asked for ice. Again, I was told "we have no more ice. I responded with, "Of course you don't." His response – "is there a problem?" When I expressed my disappointment, he simply walked off. I then got his attention again and pointed out that he never returned with an entrée. Again, no response. In short, the flights are cheap, but I would suggest another airline.

Scored an awesome seat with no one next to me in a small cabin between first and coach class.

Even after I had carefully check luggage restrictions I got thoroughly hassled about my ski bag and had to pay considerably extra and do major persuading. The fact the air china desk doesn't open till within 3 hours of flight time at Tom Bradley international terminal at lax is madness. All these red eye flights going through security at once was one of my worst flight experiences. I the picture I took of it is an awesome representation of the term madness

They cancel the flight from Hk to Beijing when you ask when no answer nothing organized . In Beijing I wait hours to get a standby ticket to United and their English very bad. After we got the standby ticket they take us to hotel and they wanna set every 2 in a room and I said no I won't stay with someone I don't know and they refuse I end by my own room out of my bucket . This airline shouldn't be a star alliance. I will never book with them no more

Full plane, long wait to use lavatory. Crew was good, but should have upped their game under the circumstances, especially with regards to keeping the lavatory clean. The noodles for breakfast turned out to be porridge, and went straight to the waste basket.

The crew were friendly and courteous. And the food was delicious.

My legs hurt during the flght and I couldn't get pills for air sickness, plus a half-an-hour delay. Also, my screen didn't work properly, which needs repair.

The crew members were not very happy and were snappy in their replies. The seating is ridiculously small, you cannot access the carry one baggage under the seat if the person in front of you puts their seat back. The food was better this time than the flight to Beijing, still not great. I also need to add that the original flight from Chicago to Beijing had a 7 hour delay which was ridiculous, especially when traveling so far. No food vouchers were offered and passengers were kept in the dark for long periods of time. The return flight was also slightly delayed. This is not a good reputation for an airlines to have. United will not be my first choice of airlines in the future.
