The boarding process in Athens was strict enough to be painful. I was asked the standard "Did you receive a package...?" sorts of questions three times, I believe. With the additional interviews/inspections, I was made anxious that we were not going to board/take off on time. The in-flight food service was...not a memorable experience. Maybe alternating fresh seafood and grilled foods during my stay in Greece colors my experience. I think I recall some sort of "cake" for dessert that only required one taste to realize it was dry, sugary, and not a way to end a meal. From entree to dessert, a lack of...imagination. The standard economy seating was as tight as I could tolerate before saying it was uncomfortable. When the passenger in front of me reclined his seat after a meal, I had to catch my tray from sliding into my lap. I am only 73"/185 cm. tall, with a 34"/86.5 cm. inseam, so not a TALL man. But, I have sat in worse configurations in US domestic cabins. The cabin crew was attentive and courteous. Just by their multi-national/multi-lingual backgrounds, there were courtesies or brief conversations each time I went to the rear galley for a beverage (which was cheerfully provided). They did have to struggle a bit with passengers trying to get up before the aircraft was at a final halt. They were firm, addressing the passengers in the most-likely languages deemed appropriate. And were ignored by a few.

I only booked with the airline because it offered an 8 hour layover in Athens...a chance to see a bonus city. There are plenty of other airlines with more flexible and consistent policies. I have traveled the world on many airlines and have never had an early check in counter close or to have to chase down a representative to get service."

Both the SFO-Frankfurt and Frankfurt-Milan flights were significantly delayed. 2. Dinner was ok, although included no choice other than pasta (no meat). Quality of breakfast seemed very below average (just an unpalatable, bread-heavy vegetarian sandwich that many passengers seemed to discard after only a bite or two) 3. Crew performed their duties perfunctorily, but seemed a little stiff/impersonal. 4. Space between seat and seatback of the passenger in front a bit cramped.

There was extreme turbulence for 10-15 minutes a bit after takeoff, which of course is no one's fault. This was a short regional flight with no amenities except water. Departure and arrival wete close ro on-time. The Suceava airport is very small but pleasant and efficient. My baggage all the way from Washington DC, checked through Paris and Bucharest, arrived without a hitch. There was really nothing to complain about except a regrettable 5+-hour layover in Bucharest.

Pros: "We were sent to Kiwi booking to complete the ticket booking. Flight was canceled due to strike but we weren’t informed this till at the airport. This is likely because airline only has Kiwi contact info and never reached to us. Kiwi also didn’t inform us. We were stuck at airport for 6 hours trying to contact airline. Phone can’t be reached. We talked ied WhatsApp Facebook tweeter. All takes like one hour to get response. In the end flights can’t be rescheduled we had to book new flights ourselves and find hotel to stay. They won’t cover for hotel either. The flights refund is now funded to Kiwi which we also need to find time to argue with Kiwi to get back. DOnt know how long that may take. The overall experience has been terrible"
Cons: "Transavia should have more capacity to hold customers requests. The representative from Transavia at airport provide absolutely no help. Just told us to WhatsApp Transavia. If that’s the approach then more people should be there responding WhatsApp comments not like no response within one hour. Kiwi is of no help as well. If flights get canceled agents should provide us updates as well. When we contacted kiwi in the airport Kiwi even denied flight cancel."

The whole experience has made me decide to never use them ever again."

Cons: "The service was Appalling, this is supposed to be an international flight, I asked numerous times for the WiFi as there is no entertainment on a long haul flight. I asked for water and wine and was more than happy to pay the staff kept telling me they would return and didn’t. I’m not sure what they were always in a hurry to do other than to avoid providing good service. This was not the cheapest flight when I booked and this airline should come with a warning, poor service, equally disappointing food no drinks and no entertainment. If I had know this I would have paid more or flown with an airline that has an acceptable standard for an international flight and the service that should be provided. I feel at fault as I didn’t know an airline like this existed. I just thought it’s european and international and it will be fine. I was truly so uncomfortable and upset. On my way home I was charged $150 euro for my bags which I was under the impression my bags were included. There was no stating of this high cost, once again I would have flown with another airline if I knew of this and didn’t pay leaving America as it said my bags were covered. I hope something is done to make sure it’s clear to customers that this is a horrible and basic airline and it wasn’t cheap. It also was very disappointed to be charged €60 per each piece of luggage returning to Madrid even though they had not charged for the same luggage coming into our destination. The lady at the counter was very cut and dry and was not helpful at all. This was a round trip, no explanation on the overcharged is acceptable. Kayak should warn their customers if luggage charges are going to be added."

Rather than call us to the plane by rows, we were asked to form two lines, right at the moment of boarding, and the passengers all had to scramble together and jostle our way through."

I was at the airport roughly hour and half in advance, and the flight attendants at the check-in counters didn't care how much time you had left to make it to your flight. Awful experience!!!"
Pros: "We had no problems with boarding on time or checking our bags. Some reviews were upset about the in-flight entertainment (or lack thereof) but Netflix has a download option now and I pre-planned and binged an entire series on the flight. I didn't eat the food on the trip to Europe but on the way home I had the veggie pasta, wine, coffee and the pizza snack and it was all basically on par with other airplane food I've had. The attendants were also all fantastic and polite and helpful."

Please make it clear from the very beginning that checked luggage is not included. Easy Jet does a great job of this, giving you the option to pay for a checked bag when buying your ticket. With Air Europa, I had no idea at all."

Cons: "To board at Frankfurt, we had to first wait in a room until about 5 minutes before scheduled takeoff time, then everyone loaded into a bus to drive out to the plane on the tarmac, then finally we started to taxi to take off. There didn't appear to be any reason for our delay, other than the fact that the boarding process is as long as it could possibly be (wait in a room, take a bus, then finally walk onto the plane). Not much legroom at all, my knees were pretty much touching the seat in front of me (I'm 6 feet tall). Bags took awhile to get out to baggage claim, and were pretty wet from the rain outside."

She made a change and said it wasn't necessary to pay. I was very happy. When I got on the plane, I realized she never gave me an emergency exit seat."
