Cons: More food/snacks and waterRead more about Alaska Airlines
Cons: More food/snacks and water
Cons: First class in an airplane this size is a bit limited (especially legroom) when in the first row.
Pros: The crew was fabulous
Cons: Better mover options
Cons: Had to pay 100 for overweight bag fee which is a lot. I knew it was large but I had to put all I. There as I had a serious should injury and could only manage a very small Carey in. I was only over by about 5lbs
Pros: We landed 45 minutes early and the flight attendants were great
Pros: Upgrade to premium was amazing. Crew was perfect
Pros: Baggage drop and checkin was a breeze
Cons: A little stingy on the drinks...
Cons: Great, excellent
Cons: Really turbulent, but I realize that’s out of the pilots control. WiFi was not good. Plane seats were somewhat comfortable.
Pros: Food was amazing.
Cons: The flight delay was annoying
Cons: Thank you
Pros: They allowed passengers with little children Board first, unlike the trip from LAX to Boston we had to wait until our class even we traveled with 3 little children
Cons: Let passengers with special needs board first, and announce baggage claim carousel number before entering the gate
Pros: Early Arrival
Cons: Bathrooms were not maintained during duration of flight. With airlines like Delta and JetBlue stepping up their in-flight service Alaska needs to get with the program. I think everyone and their mothers we're in boarding group C but yet no one was in A...make it more dispersed.
Cons: Alaska airlines is a consistent let down. This was the LAST time I will ever fly them. A 9 hour delay because their captain called out 1 hour before the flight. They did NOTHING to compensate the entire plane, made ppl leave back into a city with their bags, no food, etc. The gate agents handling it could've cared less and told people to call and complain it wasnt their problem. The service was horrible from top to bottom and cost people their entire day. Many missedevents, connecting flights and Alaska all the while didnt even comp a coffee to people theyd stranded from 6am to 6pm ,
Pros: Friendly staff, kept drinks coming
Pros: Flight crew was wonderful.
Cons: They ran out of cups......
Pros: The crew was very nice, and there weren’t any issues on the flight.
Cons: We sat in the back of the plane on the way to Boston and felt very nasceous by the end of the flight because of all the turbulence. But, of course that isn’t the Alaska’s fault.
Pros: We were 30 min early and took off on time.
Cons: Slightly turbulent, but not bad. Alaska could have more non-dairy, gluten-free options in the menu, but their Mediterranean tapas box is pretty good.
Cons: lack of Cleanliness, one crew member was rude and pushy (not to me but in her tone and to others),
Pros: Aisle seat, no delays, San Francisco waiting areas had plenty of power plug-ins for charging devices.
Cons: The only free items were a single Biscoff “cookie” packet containing two small inedible “cookies” and one service only of beverage cart from Boston to San Francisco. Service on airlines is rapidly disintegrating. Very disappointing.
Pros: Entertainment ststem
Cons: Heat: service; lack of water/drinks; lack of soap in bathroom
Cons: Our flight was delayed while we waited for a crew member to fly in to cover for a FA that called in sick. Gate agents didn’t provide many updates while we waited. The were only 3 snack items for purchase available on the plane. Seat didn’t recline
Pros: On time, quick boarding, overhead bins are easy to get bags into.
Cons: Logan airport requires that you leave the secure area and change terminals and go through security again to get to other airlines (so does Vancouver BC). This is very inconvenient and unexpected too and adds a huge time element that you have no idea is happening. Avoid it for any transfers.
Pros: Arrived about a half hour early
Cons: The Gogo videos didn't work much of the time.
Pros: Alaska Airlines is the best domestic Airline. However their terminal in Boston leaves a lot to be desired. The ticket agents are not Alaska employees it seems and they don't quite know how to work their computers. The gate area has no restaurants and is extremely disappointing.
Cons: .The ticket agents are not Alaska employees it seems and they don't quite know how to work their computers. The gate area has no restaurants and is extremely disappointing.
Pros: On time flight
Cons: Poor service for food and beverage
Pros: The crew was very friendly
Cons: Delay that could have been quickly resolved if the crew and mechanics communicated to each other
Pros: That we were in the air
Cons: That I waited 3.5 hours bc of a delay when I could have been with loved ones not stressing about my flight. Also, how long it took to notify customers. I love Alaska Airlines, but it's the little things that set you apart. Don't lose them!
Pros: Timeliness, clean plane and nice attendants
Cons: No complaints here!
Pros: The plane was nice to ride in. Great crew aboard.
Cons: Not much to not like. I didn't listen to the entertainment, so can't give good input there.
Pros: Most everything was good. Except I missed my flight, but I made the flight to Seattle in time. They checked my fourth bag for free, that was nice too.
Cons: The free cookie. It's awful. Too gingery.
Pros: Crew had great attitude
Pros: Good temperature, got a full can of soda which I like! More legroom than my United Airlines return flight.
Cons: No setback entertainment OR drop down shared screens for movies during the 6hr flight from Boston to Seattle.
Pros: I can't say enough great things about this airline! This was my first time on Alaska and it definitely won't be my last. We had some weather issues come up as we were about to take off. The pilot kept us up today on info, the flight crew brought water & anything else people needed before take off. It was a short delay but you would have thought we were going to be there for hours because they were all so attentive. It was the smoothest flight (THERE WAS CRAZY WEATHER EVERYWHERE!!) but our pilots made sure we had the smoothest safest flight possible. I could go on forever! This airline went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure we were comfortable and had a great flight.
Cons: I don't love paying to check luggage but these days unless you fly Southwest that's hard to avoid.
Pros: It is ridiculous to be paying a full fare a BD then be charged for luggage! Worst policy going
Pros: Price of the ticket last minute one way from Boston to Anchorage for a family members surgery. Did a one way coming back even cheaper! Also missed connecting flight in Seattle and CS rep was kind enough to put me on a very booked flight 2 hours later. She waived the $200 change fee she could have charged. TY very much Brittany in Seattle!
Cons: Bring ur own snacks. Food is expensive like every other airline and not necessarily what one might feel like eating at that time.
Pros: Flights were on time. friendly personnel.
Cons: cramped seats, long boarding process, no entertainment, limited snacks.
Cons: .My flight was cancelled in Boston and according to the gate agent it is their policy to not give an explanation. Travelers already tired and anxious about flying this only compounds the problem. They did get me a hotel room, but only issue meal vouchers one at a time. Alaska's ticketing and check in area is only manned for a short time and not on the weekend. Talk abourt a "Catch-22" I would rather have my money back than a flight voucher. I would only use Alaska if it was the only option.
Pros: Crew were excellent
Pros: Crew was great - very accommodating.
Cons: The internet didn't work at all and is really overpriced. It was a long flight and all you had was snack boxes. I think a couple sandwiches or a salad offering would have been appropriate.
Pros: Crew was great!
Cons: If JetBlue can provide complimentary TV and music I don't see why Alaska can't do the same.
Pros: Very attentive staff, it seems like they were constantly walking the aisle to ask if anyone needed anything
Cons: The captains were late because they had to be off for ten hours, so that got us in the air late
Pros: Very spacious
Cons: Had to pay for a meal
Pros: Seats are comfortable and the power options are great for keeping devices charged and running.
Cons: I was not impressed with the food for sale. The Tom Douglas special was messy to eat and didn't seem to be a very good value. The entertainment options were lacking. I was not able to use the system with my Amazon Kindle Fire, and the cost and selection were not a good value.
Pros: Cabin crew was excellent
Pros: We took off right on time, the flight got to the destination on time. The crew went around 3 times on a 6 hr flight to offer drinks.
Cons: The seats didn't recline, nor did it say this when I signed up for the seats. I am approximately 215 lbs and 6' 0" tall and was seated next to an older, larger man who kept taking up my space.
Pros: Seat very v=comfotable
Pros: Plane was new and equipped
Cons: In first class we had beef jerky for breakfast
Pros: Sanitized, open middle seats, comfortable
Cons: We were stuck on the tarmac for 40+ minutes due to our gate being blocked by another plane. We almost missed our connection and had to run through the airport with our luggage and the staff at our second gate yelling “hurry up” at us like it was our fault.
Pros: Friendly crew
Pros: Great crew.
Pros: Everything! the best part was that the they kept the middle seat empty!
Cons: For some reason, we were asked several times for Passports. This didn’t make any sense since we are US citizens with drivers license. They even had TSA talk to us. This has to be fixed. Otherwise, Delta experience was great.
Pros: Don’t go overboard
Cons: Good for now
Pros: Well organized and easy to check in.
Cons: Nothing, really. Airlines unfortunately can’t make people patient or polite, & I can’t afford a private jet, so I’ll have to settle for an eye roll or twelve.
Cons: It’s time to update the snacks, bu thank you for serving more than just peanuts. I was very cold on the flight - unusual, but definitely very chilly.
Pros: Delayed boarding but made up for lost time in the air
Cons: Delayed boarding
Cons: The inoperative TV screens should be repaired.
Pros: Was boarded promptly
Pros: You know what you are getting with Delta
Cons: The economy seats were really tiny, this made the flight fairly uncomfortable
Cons: Plane was late taking off. Crew did not provide water when requested. They were busy with beverages that they could sell at a cost.
Pros: Seat was comfortable and I got extra Biscoff Cookies
Cons: Great trip
Cons: The flight attendants were quick with the pick up of drinks. I had only been served my drink for five minutes and they were already coming around to pick up trash.
Pros: Smooth flights and in time. Everyone is so nice. True professionals
Pros: Seating was fine
Cons: Did not have a wheelchair waiting for my wife when we arrived in LAX
Pros: Everything was great. Has nothing to do with the airline, just rough weather.
Cons: The stewardess could come around more. Just twice. Once for food. Once for trash. Just me tho
Cons: Delays due to Democrats not making deal
Pros: Good service this morning
Cons: All good
Pros: I was trying with a broken arm - the Crew both on the plane and off the plane was wonderful
Cons: Would like more food available-not for purchase but with what comes with your flight
Cons: We left 30 minutes late due to congestion and I missed a layover. Otherwise it was a great experience
Pros: Everything went great. Flight left a little late but was fine and only arrived a little late. I like the side wings on head rests really help.
Cons: Seats are always hard on long flights.
Cons: Delays, delays, delays... first class ticket from BOS to MSP got me a 6 hour delay and a middle seat in econ main cabin at the back of the plane. Delta you suck!
Pros: Got to London on-time (early, actually) and safely. The in flight meal was okay. The leg room in comfort plus was great, the mobile app was awesome, and the staff (check-in, gate, cabin and flight deck) were professional and friendly all around.
Cons: The leg room was great, but as a broad-shouldered guy, the width of the seat was miserable. Unfortunately, the Delta 767 doesn't offer any upgrade for a wider seat beyond Delta One, and my employer won't spring for that. Too bad there isn't a premium economy option. Also, the entertainment unit in the seat next to mine malfunctioned, which you wouldn't think would impact me that much except that because it was "seeing" touches randomly throughout the flight, the screen would turn on, off, brighter, dimmer, play random stuff, and just generally be as annoying as possible to everyone nearby throughout an overnight flight.
Pros: Excellent crew, snacks and coffee, comfortable economy seats. Plane landed 15 min early. Bags beat me to the carousel.
Cons: Tray table was broken, I was downgraded from Comfort plus to main cabin after a plane swap with no mention by anyone and no compensation. Flight was delayed 45 minutes because a flight attendant was running late and then to top it off, at the end of. The flight the attendants blocked anyone fromaim cabin from leaving until all of first class had departed, even when no one was coming they still Blocked it off. This is a practice I have never seen on delta and haven't seen in aviation in almost 20 years in the US
Pros: Leg room and seats are very tight and I'm a small person.
Cons: Coach class is very crowded.
Pros: Direct flight, on time, friendly crew, smooth flight
Pros: Cabin crew and captain were great.
Cons: Don't like how you don't get your seat assignment until you get to the gate. I was given the window seat in the very last row for a 6 hour flight, quite uncomfortable. I could've booked another airline for a similar price and picked the seat i wanted at booking. They ran out of food choices by the time they got to the last row, so we were given whatever was left. Delayed because one of the bathroom doors wasn't working, 30 min later still wasn't fixed and ultimately they decided to go without it.
Pros: Staff smooth flight great landing and free movies
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: Your entertainment system is fabulous!
Cons: We purchased a direct flight from Boston to Tampa. We paid extra for the convenience of a direct flight Our flight was changed without notification to a connecting flight that was leaving 10 minutes earlier and arriving 2 hours later. Due to malfunction with the kiosk and not a sufficient amount of agents at check in, we missed our flight by 4 minutes. The gate agent seemed to enjoy telling us, with our 10 month old baby, that we were too late. Our baggage, including car seat, had been loaded on the plane. We were reassigned to a flight the following morning. We missed a full day with family, had to travel back home without a car seat and return to the airport the following day. I was shocked and disappointed that not single Delta agent was accommodating or remotely helpful while we were at the airport. I've never had a problem with Delta before. We travel on regularly and would like to continue using Delta. I would like a voucher for my next Delta trip.
Pros: Quick flight
Cons: Paid $30 for wifi and it never worked. Would like a refund
Pros: The staff are wonderful and helpful. Best wishes to Delta. Please keep the great employees.
Cons: Delayed for 4 hours due to mechanical difficulties
Pros: On time
Cons: My wife was told she could not board our flight from Boston to Paris because her passport was expired, even though it was not expired. We were told that in Europe passports cannot expire within 3 months of your departure. However, Delta never let us know about this rule until we literally were boarding the plane. How they could not make us aware of this until we were boarding the airplane is unbelievable and unacceptable. This has ruined our vacation which has been in planning for the last six months.
Pros: Complimentary snack mini-meal. Early departure and arrival. Availability of extra seat and elbow room. Free movies.
Cons: Entertainment screen would not tilt to comfortable angle when passenger in front of me reclined his seat, and the screen/system stopped functioning properly near end of flight.
Pros: Everything was just right
Pros: Delta service and conford are great.
Cons: Pay for wifi
Pros: Im usually not one to sleep on ttransport but I was very comfy on this flight and was able to sleep the whole three hours
Cons: The snacks.
Cons: Great flight, ontime departure and early arrival. Bags were delivered within 15 minutes of Ariosto the gate.
Cons: More legroom and monitors in the seat back like Jetblue.
Cons: Feed me
Cons: Too many travelers on the same flight, but I know its the day before thanksgiving so its the way it is.
Cons: Wifi was not functional, making me unable to do work for the duration of the flight. Rude flight attend literally stormed off mid-conversation as I was asking for assistance with wifi. And this was in FIRST CLASS. Unbelievable. And Unacceptable.
Pros: Crew were exceptional!!! Organizing the passengers and make the arrangements to meet the requirements of social distance. Bravo!!!
Cons: Cookies had a very bad taste. Water was perfect!
Pros: The crew was respectful and friendly, the seat was comfortable
Pros: The comfort of the plane and aircraft crew.
Cons: Customer service. Ridiculous when buying flight tickets, regardless the economy “restriction” if you buy two tickets together you put them together even if your picking the seats. A money scam charging more for us to pick our seats. Common sense isn’t that common
Pros: Lisa Inzerillo is amazing, I don’t know how she kept everyone happy and safe. What an amazing employee she is, please thank her supervisor for such great training and service!
Cons: If Lisa was our flight attendant on previous flights!
Pros: Entertainment was good for the length of the flight.
Cons: Delayed several times, one of which was because they didn’t have enough gas for the trip. The pilot also came in so fast and hard that he slammed on the planes breaks when landing - violently shaking the entire plane.
Cons: Sat on tarmac for over 40 min waiting for gate
Cons: They make flights to depart on time. Also they should tell anything about the reason when they are delaying four times for a flight
Cons: Plane was delayed for 1 hour, electrical problems, which were never fixed. No entertainment no wifi, unable to charge battery on cell phone. Cabin very warm.
Pros: The crew members were extremely helpful. It was a full flight and hard to find space for all the carry-on luggage, but an extremely helpful stewardess did a great job of finding space for my bag. She was attentive and friendly for the beverage service and really made me feel welcome.
Pros: Crew was nice. Boarding and deplaning was quick. Flight was on time
Cons: WiFi was super slow
Pros: Attentiveness of crew and meeting my needs
Cons: More leg room/space and a FREE sandwich. I’ll take one is those.
Pros: The seat was great
Cons: Cabin crew - service
Cons: No idea. I thought everything was good.
Cons: No complaints, great crew, great service, great flight!
Pros: Flight crew were very apologetic
Cons: Missed connecting flight from Miami. Only one flight per day. Had to take a flight to an alternative location, drive for an hour down the coast and take a ferry to my final destination.
Pros: What you expect from an internal US flight: no food, crowded flight, cramped seats. I have come to expect two things - arrive on time and arrive safely. The good, we arrived safely.
Cons: Pulled away from gate and sat on tarmac for over an hour while technical difficulties fixed. We should not have boarded until plane was ready. We arrived over one hour late and just made connecting flight. Our luggage was not so fortunate.
Pros: There was an excellent selection of movies to choose from. The seats were pretty nice and clean and modern. A power outlet at every seat, and not just USB.
Cons: Flight was delayed due to paperwork and some people were racing to their connecting flights. Lots of turbulence. The seats seemed comfortable at first, but actually hurt my tailbone pretty quickly, while the 17 hour flight we took next did not. Tray tables are the folding kind and a bit awkward. We were in the last row by the bathrooms and our seats didn't recline at all. You had to pay for any kind of snacks other than a little bag of pretzels and a package of cookies. We were in one of the last two boarding sections, and the woman letting us on the plane tried to make us check out carry-on luggage, stating that the overhead bins were full. Well, we didn't want to be without our bags for the next 24 hours, so we argued and she let us "try" to bring them on. There was PLENTY of room back there! It's just the standard line they feed, apparently, so beware if you're sitting in the back of the plane!
Cons: No message to call with passengers with kids to board first or any military personnel boarding first.
Pros: Generally clean plane with good entertainment system and technology overall. Diabetic meal much better than in the past.
Cons: Didn't announce meal choices at the start so flight attendant had to repeat herself every. Single. Row. They forgot my diabetic meal on the last part them forgot to include cutlery and it took a long time to sort out but they were otherwise lovely.
Cons: I wish there was another option for a snack. There are many companies that would probably love to advertise through distribution to airline passengers.
Pros: Nice flight, great leg room, staff was friendly and flight was on time.
Pros: Due to a strong tailwind we arrived 45 minutes ahead of schedule. Great service with attentive attendants. However the plane was older than me, no real entertainment system or outlets to plug in smart devices.
Cons: Plane needs to be retired or retrofitted to accommodate smart device charging.
Pros: The terminal seating
Cons: I am a 100% disabled veteran and I was being rushed by flight stewards with no regard to my physical limitations. I wanted to try the kayak route but after this last experience I don’t know if I’ll still with Kayak
Pros: The crew was really nice and caring
Cons: The music and entertainment collection was very limited
Cons: The plane was dirty, the window had a leak, the TV was too far away and the sound system to watch the movie was broken. When the plane is in that poor of a condition, it's time to replace it. F.
Pros: Everything great. Rate food and entertainment moderate because there was no dinner, which we did not require, and we went to sleep so didn't pay attention to entertainment.
Pros: The flight crew was professional, friendly and competent. They served the dinner as early in the flight as possible.
Cons: This was a plane with central screens along the aisle, and the airline chose to broadcast a sci-fi action movie with almost constant flashing blue light, and violent action scenes. This was first of all a movie that many people, including me, would never choose to watch, but since it was on the aisle screens there was no getting away from it. It was also unsuitable for children, even without sound. But mainly, I object to the showing of any film in that situation - only aisle screens available, and on a night flight where most of the passengers are trying to sleep. I was awakened several times by the flashing lights. Other things: one of the bathrooms was not very clean, and the plane felt like the usual cattlecar, with just 3 seats on each side of the aisle, which is unusual and unpleasant for a transatlantic flight.
Cons: I do not like that I am missed my flight and got stuck in a city without any re-embersement. I usually use United, but decided to use American Airlines this time. Sleeping in an airport tonight. Thanks.
Pros: Was on time
Pros: Cabin was clean. Flight attendants were courteous.
Cons: Their snacks were merely a cookie which was okay, but not what I would have wanted.
Cons: After everyone boarded they said they had a 2 hour delay and if you got off the plane your flight would be cancelled. After an hour of sitting on the plane they got everyone off so a different plane could board and take off and then everyone got back on the plane and continued to wait. We left 2.5 hours late and when we arrived at the destination the plane couldn't contact the tower?!?! So we waited another 30 mins...ridiculous, rude, and rather fly southwest
Cons: We did not get on this flight because AA's scheduled it 90 minutes after landing from an Int'l flight. Why don't airlines schedule a minimum 3hours between Int'l-domestic connections. half the plane was stressing and freaking out about missing their connection even though the plane landed on time. "AA is not responsible for customs/security delays". Well, your customer service agents would have a lot less work if you didn't have to reschedule 100 people per flight. The time the plane drives/parks at the gate, you get off the plane and make it through customs, get your bag, recheck it (if need be, we didn't this time though), get through security and get to your gate, you'll be the luckiest person in the world to do that in less than 90 minutes.
Cons: It was not obvious that I was flying American arlines out of Boston. I was very confy
Pros: The crew were pleasant and friendly. They tried the best that they could given the circumstances.
Cons: My flights were delayed so I missed my connection. I had to fly a red-eye from San Fran to Boston getting in at 6AM with meetings that started at 10AM...had to BUY a day-pass at the Admirals Club (I feel this could have been provided as it was mechanical issues that caused the delays). THEN my trip from Boston home were delayed so they switched me to another flight and then THAT one was delayed twice so I actually got home later than if I had taken the original flight! Overall the flights really sucked!!
Cons: they were keeping delay, delay, and delay when I was on the aircraft. My flight was from BOS to PHL on June 13,2017 was delayed and cancel then they pushed me back. They pushed my flight back on the next morning and without any apologize or responsibilities for me and I have been sleeping in the AIRPORT all night! never go to this airline again! bad and worst airlines ever!!!
Pros: Flight crew somehow noticed that we had someone in our party who could use some extra consideration. They pre boarded us as a result! They were also extra considerate during the flight.
Pros: That I got home safely
Cons: From the get go it was an awful experience ... I travel with an emotional support animal as does my husband because we don't do well with flying. I have anxiety to the max about it & my husband gets ulcerative colitis flare ups any time he's stressed out which is usually while we fly and having our dogs with us turkey makes us feel better. When I called to tell them over the phone we would have our emotional support animal I got an attitude as if I hadn't been doing this for the last 4 years. She reiterated to me that we needed in addition to the letterhead from the doctor a form filled out (which we both did ) . Brought to the airport and sit had to sit at the counter like the girl didn't know what she was doing. Fast forward to finally getting to the gate after being stressed and our flight was delayed. This now only made our 50 min layover in DC 20 min by the time we landed. We ran from one gate to the next hoping we wouldn't miss our flight and when we got there they wouldn't let us on the plane saying things like "your dogs are not on this flight" "there is no documentation" "well then you must not have the right paperwork" ... in front of a bunch of people in line, out of breath, and now embarrassed I am forced to take out my folder and give them all the paperwork I had just given to the customer service desk before our first flight. They let everyone on the plane and still made us stand there and finally said "just go but your dogs aren't on this flight". Fast forward AGAIN to sitting on the flight the flight attendant comes over and says "guys where's you carrier the dogs need to be under the seats" .. we peoceeded again to explain for the seventh time that they were emotional support animals ... she then proceeded "no they are not they are not even listed on this flight" at this point I'm EXTREMLY embarrassed because people on the plane are paying attention and drawing attention to us but not only that ... I have been doing this for years .. I ALWAYS have the proper documentation as does my husband and we have never ran into this kind of disappointment and embarrassment from any airline until now. I was so stressed out to begin with and this deffinately didn't help ... nor did it make us wants to fly on American again. I felt pushed aside, embarrassed, and belittled by multiples employees ... all because the first employee clearly made a mistake and didn't document things correctly ... that should have never been put on us .
Pros: The airplane had screens that tracked the flight progress, which was nice once we finally left.
Cons: The delay leaving Boston caused me major ground transportation problems in Philadelphia. Also boarding agents did a lousy job getting people to check their carry on bags, knowing with a full flight they wouldn't have room. This further delayed take off.
Pros: There's nothing good about AA
Cons: One of the few things SouthWest, Alaska & United did was the proper queuing of people to get into the plane. AA is a free for all - those who follow regulations will fall behind. In this flight from Boston to LAX - I heard there were 80 Priority checking - are you kidding me. Group 1 does not help if I have 80 Priority seating and one family took 12 people in with one elderly. It's good to place Elderly and Military up front first - but to take the Whole entire family - that's not fair - you have 8 able bodies who should be in line with the rest of the crowd. Also who heard of 80 Priority check ins - normally, that's Group 1. Never flying AA unless I a desperate.
Pros: Good experience all around.
Cons: 15 minutes late. No big deal though
Pros: Good crew, very pleasant and professional.
Cons: The three and a half hour delay was not great, but since it was due to weather issues in Chicago, certainly not the airlines fault. However, the communication about the delay was terrible. There was nobody and the gate, so we were relying on automated notifications from the airline. They kept pushing it later by 30 - 45 minutes at a time. We could have gone to the airport much later but just didn't know that.
Cons: The pilots did not show up for my flight after my other connecting flight was delayed and a previous fkight had been cancelled.
Pros: We didn’t crash.
Cons: First class seat was uncomfortable and had very little padding. Meal service was not good. No drinks offered.
Pros: There were delays beyond the pilot or crews control and they handled the situation in a very courteous and respectful way, much appreciated.
Pros: The crew was great as was the check in crew.
Cons: The comfort of the seat and leg space.
Cons: Less people because of COVID
Cons: I paid $100 for an upgrade on a United which turned out to be the first row, and right beside the rest room (which was erroneously showing as occupied for the first 20 minutes). The traffic made it feel like I was sitting on a bench in Grand Central Station. I chose an aisle seat but ended up mysteriously in the middle seat. I had extra leg room but if I’d eaten the free 5 pretzels I wouldn’t have been able to fit it my seat any longer. The WiFi wasn’t working for the first hour of the flight. The flight attendant got really annoyed when we didn’t look up when he came by with beverages the first time. We all had headphones on and were looking at our personal screens. The activity by the rest room was constant so we didn’t notice it wasn’t just someone waiting for the loo. The luggage took so long to come out I thought my conference would be over before I got it. Overall, I thought it was bad and confirmed why I don’t fly United. Old, dingy planes, poor service. The pilot was pleasant and communicative so there was at least that...
Cons: Serving something substantial to eat would be nice.
Pros: Great take off and landing. My ears were not even plugged up after landing. Great piloting skills by the crew.
Cons: Still in Houston after spending the night. Flight from Boston to SFO WAS DELAYED SEVERAL TIMES and we would have missed our connection to HNL. So we were diverted to IAH, where we spent the night and will leave for HNL soon.
Pros: Non stop . Wife and I were given side by side seats
Cons: Last row
Pros: Professional staff and clean seat with smooth pilot who was not constantly announcing things
Cons: Small seats
Pros: Good. Seating. Not too crowded
Pros: The flight attendants were so nice, and although our flight was delayed and hour and fifteen minutes and our layover was an hour and fifteen minutes, we were able to make our connection! Since our connection to Portland in Denver was the last flight of the night, they were able to hold it for us. This was wonderful because there weren’t many flights out that weren’t booked solid for the next day. The attendants on this flight were great about updating us with information for the connections and telling us when we would land in Denver.
Cons: The plane was delayed over an hour for cleaning. It was frustrating to say the least.
Pros: The flight was short and sweet. However, the customer service rep checking me in at Logan could have been much more friendly. I was bringing my parents lobster from Maine, and I ended up having to check my box of lobster. I have a United Explorer card and a Chase Sapphire Preferred card and I was juggling my luggage and had to sit my money clip wallet on the counter. Since I had cash in my wallet, the customer service rep abruptly told me, “we don’t accept cash.” I have been flying for most of my life and I know that you have to pay for baggage fees with a credit card. This interaction was disappointing to say the least.
Cons: No beverage service.
Cons: flight was delayed
Pros: A very tall, male, flight attendant very wonderfully took me almost all the way from one end of the horseshoe to the other. I didn't catch his name but he was SO helpful.
Cons: My flight was delayed by a few minutes and by the time we got to San Francisco, boarding was almost done for my connecting flight. I had to literally run from one end of the United terminals to the other... the entire horse shoe.
Pros: Entertainment free and plenty of choices
Cons: Not even any free snacks, seats do not recline much at all
Pros: I loved being in economy plus! The meal was a wonderful surprise and after my tv screen was reset, I enjoyed 2 movies. Nice staff and service.
Cons: Having to go to the back of the plane for the bathroom.
Pros: New plane, great service.
Cons: The hot meal was gross, but that's too be expected these days. It was nice to even get one, honestly. In flight wifi didn't work but the crew was great about helping us get in touch with customer service about it.
Cons: Got re-seated into a non-recline, bulkhead exit row. For a tall guy like me that's a death sentence on a 6h flight that's delayed extra at the end of a day
Cons: Inspire of making it clear all through booking, check-in and seat assignment, I was assigned a seat in an emergency exit. I told crew before I boarded that I could not open the emergency exit at assigned seat, due to an injury. I had to board almost last waiting for them to find someone who would take that seat. Then they put me in a non-reclining seat. I was given the wrong free beverage and the crew never came back. So I had nothing to drink on a 4+ hour long flight.
Pros: Free movies on the plane, because of errors.
Cons: 4 hour delays both ways. We missed our connection flight due to delays on the way home. That connection was the last flight out of that airport home. We ended up having to sleep in the airport overnight, because United wouldn't pay to put us in a hotel even though the delay was because of a mechanical error on the plane. Our 5 hour flight turned into a big ordeal.
Cons: Took 3 days to deliver my case. They have daily flights. Very poor.
Pros: We boarded very quickly. Take off and landing were immediate. I wasn't interrupted as I slept.
Cons: The flight was delayed. Ordinarily, a little over an hour isn't bad, but we ended up landing at 1:30 in the morning, local time. I called United expressing concern about the arrival time when I was first notified of the delay and all I was told was "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." I learned later that there was an earlier flight I could have tried to get on.
Pros: The flight was fine once we were airborne.
Cons: The flight was delayed SEVEN times. After boarding, we sat on the ground another hour. We didn't take off until almost 5 hours after the expected departure. Baggage claim took over 30 minutes, as well, which was exhausting after midnight when we were supposed to get in at 8.
Cons: Sat in the middle of two people who took up part of my seat too.
Pros: I liked the comfort that the plane gave. I also enjoyed the fact that the crew was all very friendly and kind.
Cons: There was no music or free tv to watch on flight. There were delays due to high traffic.
Cons: They had flight delay issues and WE got pushed onto a next day flight but WE had to pay for our hotel when it was their planes delayed!
Pros: Took off late but landed on time
Cons: Packed in like sardines. Hot on board.
Cons: Our plane was constantly moved around prior to boarding and it was 2 hours late.
Cons: 1. Comfort: the headrest on these seats is so uncomfortable! It just props your head forward and causes a lot of neck strain. For most short haul flights, this is not a big deal, but it really makes for an unpleasant journey on the cross-country flights. Also, the four-seat middle section is so poorly designed. There is no way to store personal items under seats without invading the space of your neighbor because the metal frame supporting the row of seats doesn't match with the seats themselves. 2. Entertainment: United could not support continuous streaming of movies/TV shows for every passenger. My movie paused and froze so frequently that I gave up on finishing it and then felt like I had wasted my time. The speed and reliability reminded me of trying to watch movies on a dialup connection. It would be so much better to just have the TV screens built into the seats. All in all, United got a bad batch of planes and should try to take this into consideration when working with Boeing/Airbus on the next order.
Pros: Flash for mac did not install
Cons: I felt like I was on my way to my death
Pros: Ease of boarding and security checking bag at gate
Cons: Check in kiosk couldn't scan phone was glad to unload my carry-on and check it for free. Should be encouraged to check 1 bag for free from start for smaller bags. Flight attendant was crabby when I tried to squeeze past into my seat. She kind of apologized by being nicer to me after that. They kind of yelled at passengers to take their seats to take off. I liked United. Too bad about the incident I read about. I was on a flight with no available seats to LA and thought someone had taken my seat. Turns out I was reading it wirong on my phone abd the last seat available was actually mine.
Cons: Crabby flight attendants
Pros: The flight was bumpy but otherwise pleasant
Cons: There was a rude passenger that yelled at me as I was exciting the flight suggesting that I cut her off as we were getting off the plane thinking that I took her bag. It was outrageous and completely ruined the flight for me. I realize this has nothing to do with the flight but it just made me feel so crumby and attached that I felt the need to share it. Also the leg room was a joke. We barely had any room to move. I probably won't fly coach on united again due to the bad taste it left in my mouth. Unfortunate because it's hub is in chicago.
Pros: The staff was very friendly and accommodating
Cons: There was some sort of mix up with seat assignments two guys had the same seat assignment. The very nice gentleman who was sitting in my seat due this stood and allowed me to have my seat as it was on the isle and I was in boarding group 5 and my seat was all the way at the end by the bathrooms and needed to be able to stretch my legs into the isle. There was absolutely no leg room what so ever. The dude next to me spent the entire trip jabbing me in the side with his elbow so that he could access what little space I did have. I was unable to move my legs because every two seconds the entire plane was trekking to the back to use the bathroom, because while there was a third bathroom on the plane towards the front, for whatever reason nobody seemed to be using it.
Cons: Because United scheduled flights without regard to airport Construction in Boston my flight was changed 3 times and I still missed my connecting flight. After I missed my flight, they refused to schedule me on the next available flight even though people behind me were scheduled because they were preferred customers. They refused to pay for my hotel and the customer service was rude arrogant and dismissive. I will absolutely never fly United again. The crew on the Boston flight to Newark was lovely everything beyond that was absolutely abhorrent. We got to our connecting flight exactly as boarding closed and they refused to let 11 people board. And subsequently, United staff was rude to us saying it wasn't their fault.
Pros: Once flight began it ran quite smooth
Cons: I chose seats when I booked the tickets. So... Not quite sure how both myself and my partner didn't end up seated together, and both ended up in a middle seat sandwiched between 2 overweight people... Are you little people profiling to break up the overwhelming number of big people? another couple with 2 kids were also broken up into distant areas on the plane. I know everyone complains about so many things, and this wasn't the end of the world, but still, it's not ideal. The seating/etc seemed more disorganized than usual for this flight.
Pros: I was so impressed with the captain and flight attendants handling the engine problems we had that sent us back to the gate for maintenance at Boston. They were calm and professional and (as a fearful flyer) I felt confident the captain was absolutely making sure we were safe to progress.
Cons: It was so hot on the plane!!! It would have been awesome if they would have passed out water.
Pros: The crew was fantastic
Cons: I really didn't like how the TVs were running to make you think you could watch whatever you want but then you had to pay. No one is going to pay for such a short flight, it would be really nice to offer it for free.
Pros: The flight attendants were kind and attentative
Cons: Nothing stood out, no one went above and beyond. When boarding, a flight attendant said there was no room in the overhead for my carry on and told me I had to check in my bag. When I finally boarded the flight, there were many empty spaces that could have fit my carry on
Pros: Except for the boarding process, the flight went smoothly, the crew was friendly and I had no problems.
Cons: The boarding process was confusing. I was issued a boarding pass with "see agent" instead of a seat assignment listed. When I saw the United agent at the gate I was told "don't worry we'll find you a seat." I was confused because I felt that I was treated as if I was flying stand by when in reality I booked my ticket in advance. Everything worked out in the end--I was one of the last on the plane but I got a seat and had no issues with finding a place for my carry-on--however, I prefer having an assigned seat to avoid the anxiety of not knowing what is going on during the boarding process.
Cons: Hour delay that made me miss my connecting flight. Customer service agent, Theresa, at the United gate was more interested in checking her cell phone text messages & handing out $10 food vouchers than the long of people who have conflicts with connecting flights or missing events in the destination they were flying to. Every minute lost could prevent customers from obtaining another immediate or comparable flight to their destination. Customer service agent sent those who were going to have problems with their connecting flights to the United Airlines service desk, of which, there were no customer service agents at any of the four available stations. I waited 10 minutes for an agent & no one arrived. When I went back to the original line I was standing in, I was forced to go to the back of the line rather than the place I was originally standing. Therefore I waited in line an additional 20-30 minutes. Once I was served they did not have any more seats available on direct flights to Melbourne. They wanted me to fly to NY, then Sydney & then Melbourne. Additionally the customer service agent did not seem confident this flight was not going to have any hiccups. Worst of all, I had been planning this trip for months & it was ruined by United Airlines.
Pros: Crew friendliness
Cons: Boarding was a mess with an adjacent gate exiting at the time of boarding creating a melee of people crossing queues. You have a carry-on baggage policy - stick to it. I wasn't carrying any roll-ons or large items but many of my fellow passengers were carrying multiple items in the hope of either getting them on or having them checked for free. Complete shambles with later boarders running up and down the aisle trying to fit their carry-ons into overhead lockers. Solution: Enforce one item only; Apply free checked items at the gate early. Apply a fee for items that don't fit and were not offered up for checking.
Pros: The flight attendents were attentive and did a great job.
Cons: Customer service was rude to us about our carry on. It was fine on the way to Boston, but made to pay and check it on the way back. other customers had bags our size but we we're rudely told "you need to go pay for your bag that's it". The bag fit effortlessly in the top on the way there.
Pros: On time boarding, nice crew.
Cons: No free food, not a lot of options of free drinks
Pros: The flight was fast and the crew was nice.
Cons: The boarding took forever
Cons: Had to gate check bag both ways. Flight extremely delayed on way home causing me to miss connection; minimal communication from gate crew. A complimentary drink included a Dixie cup full of soda.
Pros: The crew was courteous and nice. Due to a 2+ hour delay we had free movies on the flight.
Cons: The fact that our incoming flight was delayed more than 2 hours.
Cons: Recently United decided to cancel all of their flights to Denver due to an April snow storm. United was the only company that chose to cancel rather than delay flights. Our flight was cancelled 24 hrs before any snow fell. Their solution was to offer us another flight over 72 hrs out. After spending 6 hrs on the phone with this company (not exaggerating) I feel entitled to say that this company holds zero accountability or concern for their customers. We had to spend an additional $500 to get to our destination last minute through JetBlue.
Pros: Yes very impressed
Cons: Easy up on the dumb mask rule it a little ridiculous..
Pros: The crew was excellent, but the seats were very uncomfortable, very hard to find position and they were very soft in the back, so you could feel when people were pushing with their knees.
Cons: I know that spirit airlines is a very low fare airline but they could add some entertainment and change their seats, even if you're paying for them.
Pros: On time
Cons: Worst seat on the plane. Had to pay more for my carry on bag than my flight ticket
Pros: Cheap overall price, no frill airline
Cons: Crew seems jaded, no food or drinks at all, seats are very uncomfortable, very little area at kiosk when you check in.
Cons: My flight was delayed twice to Boston and I had an appointment to keep. I called the Spirit customer service line repeatedly to ask about travel options and discuss my dilemma. Unfortunately, it seems that phone line is entirely automated. I could not find a human to answer my questions. I finally booked a flight with another airline that was set to arrive in Boston prior to my Spirit flight. I planned to take my return flight home to Chicago, but was informed through email that I had been removed from the flight. I was very upset to learn that my round trip was cancelled by Spirit since I did not take the departure leg of the trip due to all the delays and my time constraints. If I was able to speak to a customer service representative when I repeatedly called for answers, I may have learned of this policy. I was told I could repurchase my flight home for $150, which was too much for me to spend. I am very disappointed that Spirit's budget nature even extends to poor customer service and lack of real humans to provide information during stressful travel situations. Since Spirit has done nothing to make me want to use this airline again, I will be seeking other carriers for my future travel needs.
Pros: Swap to Delta flight.
Cons: Return ticket also cancelled without my knowledge. Had to argue to get return ticket restored.
Cons: Seats were very thin, had has children kicking and screaming behind me on both flights. Both flights were late for takeoff, which was very inconvenient, and lastly I do not think your airline prices justify charging $3 for something to drink! I paid about $90 for a United direct flight to Boston, where I had free drinks, and yet I paid $150 through you guys to take two flights home as you had no direct flights back. I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. Your flights are not cheap enough either to justify charging $90 for two checked bags. Good luck, but I would rather take United.
Pros: The flight down was fine. The plane seemed new and well-appointed. Boarding and staff were fine.
Cons: My return flight was affected by Hurricane Irma. Spirit's first response was understandable under the circumstances, and I felt that they handled it as well as could be expected. They canceled my flight, notifying me about 8 hours prior to the flight, and automatically booked me for a new one for the next day. However, when I arrived for that flight, they cancelled after I was already checked in. The lack of prior notification -- and the fact that it was now two days after the tropical storm -- made me think that this was poorly handled. At that point, I bought a ticket on another airline. Spirit emailed me two $50 vouchers with an apology, which I appreciate, but I plan to contact them for a refund.
Pros: Flight attendants were friendly
Cons: No carry-on luggage? It wasn't clear when we booked the flight. We have 4 kids and we just packed carry-on luggage, which all ended up being needed to checked in. Their price for carry-on or checked in luggage is ridiculous. The flight ended up costing us much more than if we flew other airlines. Also, our flight is scheduled to take off at 5:05am, and there were NOBODY at the counter to help any customer for bag drop less than an hour before the flight. There was a huge line and everybody was rushing through the bag drop line at the last minute and running to the gate in order to make the flight. Terrible!!! Seats were cramped, no entertainment and water will cost you $3! Definitely will not fly Spirit again!
Cons: After I spoke with another individual he understood what had happened with maintenance on the front end of MSP and that I would've made my FTL flight to SJO had the flight left at 6am like it should've not 3pm. He said nervously that he'd have to talk w/ the supervisor again, where she came back & tried to fight about weather issues from BOS to FTL..but she didn't take a second to understand that I was delayed from maintenance in MSP which didn't allow me to leave til 3pm vs 6 am. If i had made my MSP flight at 6am, I would've made my flight in BOS at 2:45 and therefore caught my FTL to SJO flight at 11pm. He then talked her through it once again, and she gave me a voucher very begrudgingly. Wrong person to have in this sort of position there. I didn't catch her name, but she was a very unprofessional supervisor working the late night shift at 11pm in FTL at spirit ticketing desk.
Cons: This was my first experience with Spirit Airlines. I was due to fly in and out of Myrtle Beach, within 24 hours, direct from Boston, for some meetings. I had a 5:05 am flight and because I travel frequently, I knew at this time of the day, from this terminal in Boston, I could park and be at my gate in under 10 minutes. I arrived at 4:20 am and proceeded to the kiosk at 4:25 am to print my boarding pass. The kiosk said it could not print me one. With no one at the counter, and another passenger also unable to retrieve a boarding pass, we stood at opening of the security lane with not a single person in queue, staring in disbelief at our gate on the other side of the security point, which began to board, and while I was frantically on the phone with customer service, departed without us. At some point three Spirit Airline employees leisurely strode by engrossed in personal conversation. When we inquired how to retrieve our boarding passes, they said "Sorry, the kiosk closes 45 minutes before boarding. Someone will be back at the desk at 8 am." They shrugged their shoulders and walked away. My ticket says "Gates close 15 minutes before boarding" and NOWHERE on their website, boarding passes or itinerary does it say that you cannot obtain a boarding pass within 45 minutes of boarding. Furthermore, when I tried to check in online and "print" my boarding pass (who has a printer these days?), the process was so laborious, requiring me to login and create an account, that I abandoned the process and thought I would just use the kiosk at the airport. How wrong I was! Had I "printed" my boarding pass at home, I would have parked, walked through security, and boarded within 45 minutes, as I frequently do on American, which also flies from this terminal. This is a piecemeal, self-serve airline. Do not expect any customer service; in this unreliable era of air travel, I would not advise using this carrier unless cost is your priority and you are willing to risk the consequences.
Pros: There was absolutely nothing positive about this flight with Spirit airline.
Cons: There was three desperate delays of our flight without any reason given. There were no customer service reps anywhere to be found during these delays to talk to. The gate at Logan airport for Spirit airlines is seperate from the rest of the airport so if you wanted to get any food or drinks you had to exit the gate and go through security again to get back in. None of the seats on the plane recline so you are sitting straight up in very uncomfortable chairs the entire flight. All of the power strips that were attached to the seats in the gate didn't work so you could charge your phone if you needed to. Also, on top of it all when you call customer service to file a complaint you wait on hold for 45 minutes and then they tell you to go to the website to file a complaint! What a joke of an airline. I will never fly with Spirit again no matter what.
Pros: Seats had a good amount of legroom. Ticket price was why I chose SPIRIT in the first place. The yellow planes are cute.
Cons: The SPIRIT terminal in Boston is the worst I've experienced, ever. Seating was limited, there was only one refreshment stand after you get through TSA, so if your flight is delayed (which mine was), you can't even walk around and see stuff. The flight attendants were not that friendly and kind of annoying. Nobody wants to hear your terrible jokes on a flight that was delayed. No free refreshments on flight, not even a water, you gotta pay. $50 for one checked bag that was 20lbs, ridiculous. The "low" ticket prices are a sham, you end up paying more in other ways.
Cons: My flight was cancelled less than 2 hours before the departure. I was told this at the airline counter. I took 7 o'clock AMTRAK to go Chicago and then took Blue line (45 minutes) to get to O'Hara airport. The girl at the counter did not explain why the airplane was cancelled. She offered a flight next day at the same time. My poster presentation was at 8:30AM next day. There was no alternative flight from Chicago to Boston. I just cannot believe this. I totally missed my conference presentation. BAD!
Pros: The plane seemed new. The seats were pretty comfortable for an airplane, although not enough legroom. The food cart by Cosi in the waiting area is pretty good for a food cart, except there are so many people the staff get overwhelmed.
Cons: The Spirit waiting area at Boston Logan is terrible. It's way too small for the number of people boarding and deplaning. There is constant jostling (even while you're sitting down) as people try to get through the crowd. And there is only one food cart unless you go back through security. The food cart is by Cosi, so the food is reasonably good, but with this many people the lines for a coffee or lukewarm breakfast wrap are long. And you have to keep moving to let people pass by. Oh, and I had a 2.5 hour delay on last flight to BWI.
Cons: I accidentally booked an 9pm flight when I meant to select 9am flight at 8am after missing my jetblue flight. I needed to get to Baltimore for work. I went through security and while I was about to board the plane they turned me away due to my ticket being incorrect. The woman checking the boarding passes rudely said "there's no room on this plane so we can't switch this ticket to 9am." I went to Spirit customer service minutes after I was turned away and they told me there was in fact room on that plane. So because of an honest mistake, they 1) wouldn't refund my ticket and 2) were rude and unhelpful and refused to let me on a plane that had plenty of space but they didn't want to inconvenience themselves for 5 minutes to change my boarding pass even after I had gone through security. I will never book Spirit again, even if I'm desperate.
Pros: I was grateful the flights never cancelled, but it delayed so often. Good news was I kept getting email notifications on all the delays.
Cons: The airplane was not meant to be comfortable. The seats don't recline. There's no radio or TV. No Footrest. The seats had very little cushion. My first flight, it looked to be an older plane, so I assumed they bought it used. My second flight, the plane was definitely new and they styled it so it would NOT be comfortable. They even made the tray table shorter. Wasn't able to fit anything on that. If you are looking for comfort or peace of mind in getting to your destination on time, then I would NOT recommend Spirit.
Pros: Pilot or flight attendant making the announcements was funny.
Cons: Carrying on a backpack and being forced to pay for a seat cost more than the actual flight. This is blatant dishonesty. You are not a cheap airline. You hide costs that customers are then forced to pay once they buy a ticket. I pay less to check a 50 lb piece of luggage for an international trip than I paid to carry on small backpack for an hour and a half flight. And, customer services reps are rude no sense of trying to ease customer frustrations. An announcement was made that a flight was cancelled and everyone needed to go to some desk to rebook. No apology, no acknowledgement of the inconvenience. Horrible customer service and dishonesty. I've had problems in the past with flights being delayed because flight attendants didn't show. No thanks.
Pros: Love the prices and the cleanliness of the airplane. Every staff I have interacted with have been friendly, polite, and look as though they enjoy their job and coworkers. The Spirit terminal at the Baltimore airport is phenomenal. It is spacious, clean, bright and modern. I will definitely be flying Spirit again!
Cons: This is the second time that I have flown from Logan airport on Spirit. Both times I have been very disappointed and disgusted by the terminal. The terminal is crowded and unclean. There were crumbs, wrappers and bottles on the floor. The trash can near the gate was overflowing with boxes and napkins. I was in the terminal for over two hours and not once was the bathroom or terminal serviced by facilities or maintenance staff. The bathroom is dark and crowded as well. Because the stalls and space is so small it's hard to manage your bags while using the bathroom. I would highly encourage an extra shift for cleaning crew and perhaps a different layout for chairs to make it feel less crowded and to bring a modern feel and look to the terminal.
Pros: There was not much to like. The crew members were nice and professional.
Cons: Once you pay for your flight, there's many other fees that end up making spirit just as expensive as other, nicer airlines. There was a carry on fee, which is unheard of. There is also a fee for every single seat. When you get on the plane, the seats are so thin and very uncomfortable. There isn't a single TV and no wifi!! There's also no complimentary food or beverages, water was even $3. Overall, the experience just annoys almost every customer and makes them wish they had chosen another airline. I will NOT be flying with Spirit airlines again.
Pros: The flight was fine, attendants were excellent. Very efficient boarding. I wasted much of the day before and day of the flight trying to print a boarding pass. Difficult to get to site and then they wouldn't accept my password and then didn't send the password I needed to change it. It was extremely frustrating. When I checked in at the kios I was warned that if my bag didn't fit in the bin I would be charged $100 at the gate. I was a1/2 inch too wide so I paid the $55 and found that people were boarding with big backpacks and not paying. My bag fit easily under the seat. Can this money be redeemed?
Pros: Uncomfortable seats, zero leg room, a website that has yet to function properly without me having to call customer service several times per flight. Not to mention the "Low fares" Spirit offers you don't actually account for the money you shovel out for EVERY SINGLE EXTRA you can think of. I ended up spending 65$ on my last flight just to bring a carry on and choose a seat. Tie that all together with an angry, impatient, and unprofessional staff, and you result in a customer who will never be flying spirit airlines again.
Pros: Nothing I wouldn't even have given one star but I had tk
Cons: The flight was overall and awful experience. After purchasing tickets we find out we have to also pay for seats and luggage. So we do so. We come to the day of our flight and board our plane only to find out they had given our seats away. Apparently because we didn't have a dog with us it was only fair to give our seats to the people who did and did not book seats let alone together ! Which is absolutely ridiculous my trip should not have to be incovienced because of other people not planning their trip correctly. Then we get the worst seats on the plane after having to stand in the way of everyone for 30 minute like second class citizens while they wait to see where they can squeeze us in. After sitting down we got incredibly rude service from the staff on the plane. One of the attendants made it a point to say your welcome in a manor of being rude because we would not hand trash to her in another passengers face we made her go behind us which was in the long run easier for her. We never got a thank you or a sorry for ruining our trip. I wouldn't recommend this flight to anyone. The airline is an absolute joke.
Cons: I did a check in to my luggage it was just one an hour before boarding and i paid 50$ for my bag and they lost it and when i went to thier representative she told me she cant find and when i asked her when will they get back to me she was like as soon as they find it without any specification about the time or any thing and she gave me a permission for a voucher with 25$ to use it in my next trip with them!! Again!!! Really !! If i will travel with again!!! It is a horrible airline i will never travel with them again ever.
Pros: spirit airlines had the cheapest airfare at the time that we booked our trip. the kiosk check-in was smooth.
Cons: we got hungry because of a flight delay so had to purchase in-flight food. the food is overpriced and frankly very disappointing. We splurged for 2 drinks and a snack box that claimed to have a cheese spread - in fact it was more like a dip (liquidy). the crackers almonds were good but the other items were just junk. we have ordered similar boxes on other airlines and got much better bang for our buck. I also think that a complementary beverage service would be nice. We all know that corn syrup is extremely cheap so I don't buy into their ad campaign about how not giving free soda service results in lower fares.
Pros: The flight was the cheapest option available and was cheaper than other airlines.
Cons: While I had heard bad things about Spirit airlines, I had never flown with them before. I was unaware at the time of booking that Spirit charges exorbitant fees for even carry-on luggage. As a result, I chose to attempt to fit all of my clothes and necessary items in a "personal item" sized bag to avoid the additional $90 it would cost me to bring a large backpack or standard carry-on suitcase. Other fees are charged for seemingly standard items such as being able to select a seat location and receiving a drink during the flight. I could have flown with another airline for the same price if I included the carry-on fee, and in retrospect wish I had. The problems did not stop there, however. Both my departing flight and return flight were delayed over an hour in clear weather. The flight itself was also the worst I have experienced. The seats were incredibly uncomfortable and felt like metal folding chairs. They did not recline and there was very little leg room. The full cabin lights were on for most of my return flight, which had been delayed over two hours to 11:15 pm, making any rest impossible. I will never fly Spirit again and will try to spread the word so that nobody else has to endure a flight from this poorly-run, money-grubbing excuse for an airline. You have been warned!
Cons: The flight was cancelled due to the plane being stuck in another city due to weather. I've had this happen before with other airlines, and they were able to rebook me on another airline's flight, with no price difference. With Spirit, they only were able to refund my money or move me to another date, four days later, which would have caused me to miss the event I was supposed to attend over the weekend. I thought since I was flying solo, without my kids in tow, using a cut-rate airline would have worked out. I've had no problems with JetBlue or SW in the past. But I would stay away from using Spirit.
Pros: NOTHING POSITIVE!
Cons: They chose to cancel the return flight within 2 hours of the scheduled departure and were not at all helpful trying to get anyone out on any other airlines (because they're next available flight to that destination was 4 days out...) Not to mention on the initial flight to my destination, they had everyone board the plane 40 minutes early and then told everyone they had to all evacuate the plane and delayed the flight for 4 hours for NO reason!!!!! I would highly recommend avoiding flying spirit airlines at all cost, what I thought was a decent deal ended costing me an extra $400 for my last minute one-way trip and adding many many hours to my time traveling......
Pros: There wasn't much to like on this flight... it was pretty disappointing.
Cons: All the hidden/ extra costs. It adds up to more than what any other airline would have costed and the service was worse. They lost my bag on the way there. They take FOREVER to get the bags to the baggage carousel (even when they make everyone pay extra to check a bag - but not as much to carry on a bag... you do the math). The flight was also delayed by 35 min. Once we got to our home airport, it took another 30+ minutes to even open the door so we could all get off the plane. It then took another 30 minutes once we all got down to the baggage carousel for the first bag to even come out of the baggage carousel.
Cons: Both my round trip flight from Boston to Chicago were canceled due to weather. I wasn't given any warning. The most I got was an email that said "your flight may have been canceled" after the time of when the flight was supposed to leave. I waited in lines for hours to get refunds. I didn't have time to wait a second hour and ended up buying a new flight with American. There were not enough employees to deal with the line of people waiting. We had to wait for two different groups of people flying to other cities to process their baggage. I left the line after an hour or else I would have missed my flight. They gave me a number to call in order to get a refund and this call has taken me about an hour and a lot of explaining, even though a refund was promised. It's too much to deal with. I won't fly with spirit again.
Cons: After being told we were circling our destination due to weather, we were deferred to another airport. This was fine until we were told we'd get sent out on the next plane... Which was also told to the other plane that got deferred (spirit) . Two planes all pushing to get on one. We were then forced to leave the gate with the promise of buses awaiting us. After 4 hours waiting for buses (midnight) I had to spend my own money to rent a car and drive 4.5 hours to my original destination. No offer to be put up in a hotel was offered, nor was an offer to catch another flight. Instead we were told to pay and extra $100 to be placed on standby for the following nights flight to our final destination.
Pros: I took the flight from Boston to Dallas. Because of the extreme weather in Dallas, the plane was not allowed to land in Dallas, which occurred to all the other airlines. However, spirit is the worst to deal with the issue. They flied is us to Houston at around 6:00pm and kept us waiting in the gate for the reopen airport although they already knew the flight got cancelled. There was not clear announcement about their plans. Finally, I got information from other passengers, they provided two options: either refund or take their compliment bus to Dallas. l decided to take the bus. Again, no announcement of where and when the bus would arrive. After 3hr, two buses arrived, but not enough seats for all the passengers. I did not get in and waited for the next round of buses. Until midnight, the buses still had not arrived. I gave up and stayed the hotel near the airport instead. However, AA airlines already sent four buses to take care of their passengers efficiently before 11:00pm
Pros: The person who helped us with our refund was very helpful.
Cons: We arrived to the airport to check our bags and were informed that our flight had been delayed an hour for maintenance. No huge issue with us we decided to eat breakfast and then hang out for a bit before the flight boarded. We arrived at the gate to find out the plane was delayed another 8 hours. I understand issues happen all the time that are out of our hands. The gentleman at the gate was extremely helpful and accommodating, but he still gave it a 50/50 shot of the plane being cancelled or not. We opted to receive a refund and drive to Baltimore. I completely understand that this was a safety issue with the plane. I'm not upset that the flight was delayed. But having to wait 9 hours for a plane that may or may not be able to make it or be cancelled was tough.
Pros: Flight from Boston to Cleveland was only delayed 10 min. Return flight was a different story.
Cons: Return flight landed on time but taxied on the runway for 2 hours (longer than the total flight time). Was only offered 1 small glass of water filled 1/2 up & 1 small package of 2 cookies as a result of federal regulations. Flight attendants & pilot only updated passengers every 25 min, saying it would only be another 10 min longer. As the updates were no accurate and late, passengers including myself were extremely frustrated. Mentioned delay of finding a gate was due to "politics", which I've never heard before. Was extremely disappointed in the way Spirit handled the situation and would not recommend this airline to people as a result.
Pros: I liked the safety instructions given by flight attendant he was creative and funny making the whole plane laugh.
Cons: What did to like? Pretty much everything. Starting with the fact they charge for a carry on. I paid $150 for round trip from Boston to Atlantic city. My carry on cost $42 each way!!! That means I paid $240 total for my flight. That wasn't comfortable, no food or drink offered, ride staff at check in desk, and very Uncomforrabel. I could flown jet blue for that with out any extra costs and a much better experience!!!! Never again will I fly spirit. I understand you get what you paid for. But it was so terrible it seemed that they know they suck but make jokes about it. Never again.
Cons: The nickle-diming of the fares, the long winded check in process, the most uncomfortable seats that I have EVER had the displeasure of occupying, the absence of tray tables or seat pockets and the fact that you had to pay for any beverage or cheap snacks. Not to mention the 2-1/2 hour delay with no explanation. I will never fly them again and will make sure everyone that I know will hear of my experiance along with all of my social media. I could have flown Delta cheaper in the long run and in the future will book with more reliable,up-front airlines!!
Pros: I like that you are in control of what you want/need to spend. You don't have spend money on things that are of no consequence to you.
Cons: The fact that Spirit has a different baggage weight limit than the other carriers was a bit of a shock. We fly a bit and maybe just took the 50 lbs limit to be common. Not at Spirit. The limit was 40 and that kinda made us go "hmmmm". It's not like Spirit hid anything, its just that we weren't looking for the differences to vary from the norm with other airlilnes. Also, the seats. They don't recline and there is much less leg room. This was hard on us as we are all tall. Again, Spirit let us know this was going to happen so there was no "surprise!", but it was uncomfortable on a 3 hr flight. The rest was fine. The crew was very entertaining.
Cons: As a customer I should be informed about additional fees that are clearly stated before the final purchase of the ticket. My concern is that without visible proof of additional fees, it seems your intent is to mislead customers into false advertisement. I should not have to pay for a seat when you check in; it should have been a part of your initial payment of the flight---otherwise what did I pay for in the first place? Additionally, one should not have to pay for a carry on bag--especially $55. That is a lot of money. Moreover, a carry on should be included in the original ticket price as well as the seat price.
Pros: We landed safely. Drink serveice without a cart was interesting and must be easier for the company.
Cons: We didn't care for buying tickets and then getting charges for everything including choosing a seat. The web site was horrible and not mobile friendly. Customer service over the phone read from a script and couldn't really take care of anything for you. Also, Spirit expects you to have access to a computer and printer on your vacation. It "saves you money" to do it online. Yes, most hotels have access to those...assuming you're staying in one. Why can't I just check in on my phone and handle everything else at the airport like I just did on Alaska for my return flight? Why do your flight attendants tell us twice to keep our seats upright when they don't even recline? And, they spent most of flight playing games on their phones/tablets. Cup o noodle!? Really!? Flight industry is tough, I know, and you guys are the bare minimum. Head in expecting a nightmare flight and its not so bad.
Pros: I liked that we had a female pilot on this particular flight.
Cons: I had to pay to get a seat on the plane after I had bought the ticket. Seat prices ranged from $4-$20+, in addition to the plane ticket. There is not a carry on bag included in any of this so you have to pay an additional $45-$55 for a carry on and even more if you want to check a bag. There is no in flight entertainment (I like to read so this I didn't mind too much) or complimentary beverage service. Also, the seats don't recline at all. It ends up being a very uncomfortable flight for the same price you would pay for a better airline that builds that into the price instead of surprising you with fees after the fact. Will likely never fly Spirit again.
Pros: I liked the price and the onboard staff was pleasant. The pilots were appropriately apologetic.
Cons: Our flight was delayed. Then delayed again, then delayed again and eventually cancelled!! So we were re-booked on the evening flight. Twelve hours later! Then that flight was delayed. And delayed again. Finally we took off 2 and a half hours after our scheduled flight time after spending 15 hours at the airport! We lost an entire day of our mini-vacation! We found out our flight was cancelled do to mechanical failure of the plane. We ended up with the very same plane that night and it was not fixed! They still had a problem with their auxillliary power so they had one Hell of a time getting the engines started we sat and sat and waited on the tarmac for the engines to finally be started. When we first arrived, the ticket agents were nice but seemed easily confounded and seemed to need a manager to help them with every single customer. Unfortunately, there was only one to go around. The baggage assistance office person was standoffish and acted like giving one word answers was a big intrusion on her time, although we were the only customers there when we talked to her. Baggage was in front of and behind her office door. We had to go in through a side door she shared with American Airlines. It was as if she wanted to discourage people from talking to her. There is more, but you get the picture.
Cons: The flight to Chicago was fine, but getting home was another story. After delaying the flight about 1.5 hours the flight was cancelled. No real reason was given and no other airlines were canceling flights. When I called to get on the next flight, they said the earliest they could get me home to Boston was in 2 days. Everyone was frantically trying to rebook and the other airlines were selling out. Long story short, I ended up paying $270 for a flight to Providence via Charlotte on American Airline. My husband then drove the hour to Providence to pick me up. All in all....I am all set with Spirit Airlines.
Pros: come on, have you ever been on more than 1 Spirit flight that landed at the expected arrival time?
Cons: being delayed 2 hours due to who knows what and missing captains :-/ And it makes a difference when you're trying to catch a train to DC after midnigt. Every time I fly Spirit, I swear I will never do it again, but the tickets are so cheap and the crew is always so nice. So WTF? Charge me 10 ir 20 more bucks and take off on time a little more than 60% of the time and maybe I'll recommend you to fellow travelers. Otherwise you stay a guilty pleasure and your flight continue to go unfilled. I know I'm not the only one to this...
Cons: Be careful flying with Spirit. Their policy is that you pay a very small base rate, with no frills whatsoever. The seats don't even recline at all. Baggage fees (even when paid online ahead of time) are very costly. You don't even get in-flight water for free. I can't tell you how many customers were upset any complaining about various aspects of the surprise costs associated with this airline; I'd imagine all over the country every day Spirit is causing frustration to hundreds or thousands of people. Would not recommend.
Pros: Clean airplane.
Cons: I feel cheated and deceived. A checked bag costs $50. A carry on costs $55. If you don't realize this before you go the gate it goes from $65 to $100. The counter crew was rude, and the boarding crew in Cleveland was shaking down passengers to be sure they were not "cheating", stopping the boarding process to check passenger receipts. Getting an assigned seat, an extra $15 per person. And there was absolutely no leg room for that extra $15 (which I paid for). These costs should be shared upfront - basically every ticked is $50-$65 more than the website shows. I will not fly this airline again.
Cons: No TSA pre-check, $55 fee for a carry on, crowded seating - felt like I was taking a bus. Would rather pay full price for another airline
Pros: The counter spirit worker Ozzie in Logan Airport went above and beyond to make sure I made my flight! Mr Ferraro who works for the TSA in Logan airport also went above and beyond, Mr Ferraro knew I was in a hurry, he thought I might forget my wallet, and when I took off running to catch my flight Mr Ferraro yelled Sir don't forget your wallet Awesome all the way around! 2 guys made my day and week! It was my brothers 20th wedding anniversary, and these 2 guys Ozzie and Mr. Ferraro truly provided heartfelt customer service that I will never forget! Thanks for being awesome!
Cons: Keep hiring great people! All is great!
