My flight was delayed 12 hours overnight due to "weather" and since it was reportedly because of uncontrollable weather delta didn't have to do anything for me so I slept in the JFK airport overnight, they wouldn't even give a $59 pass to their sky miles club for the afternoon. It felt like an easy excuse so they wouldn't have to do anything since there were other airlines still flying out of JFK and to go CLE before my rescheduled flight which makes me believe it wasn't all weather. Since the flight was delayed 12 hours instead of being cancelled they wouldn't let me switch to a different airline either. Then, in the morning when it was rescheduled to it was again delayed because they first couldn't find a captain and then couldn't find a fort mate. We finally took off and arrived in Cleveland only to wait another 30 minutes for a gate and a ground crew that they couldn't find. I will never fly delta again."

Pros: "The flight attendants made the safety briefing extremely lively and personal, a wonderful break from the normal tedious process. The rest of the flight was quiet, uneventful, and pleasant in part due to their good nature. I cannot have gluten or soy, and I was brought a complimentary bag of potato chips that were gluten free - the one and only time this has happened! I hope to fly with this crew again someday."

Cons: "Agents at the ticketing countet were the rudest i have ever encountered in my years of flying. Had a problem and when i asked for their assistance was given the Delta 800 number and told to call and they walked off. When i called it was a 2 hour wait for an agent. Thank goodness for their app as i was able to.change my flight with the My Delta app. Also they had overbooked the flight and rather than giving assurance to people just told us to wait and "line up orderly"."

I waited in line for 2 hours to get on another flight home and the attendant first suggested to fly me to Charlotte then Cleveland where I would arrive a day late after I'd been traveling with my elderly parents for 24 hours. Additionally, once we changed flights and had to go to Newark, it took an hour to print (yes, print) our new itineraries for United and then when the cab should have arrived immediately, we waited 45 minutes. I was displeased."

Reminding me that it was a large airport. I declined, but she encouraged me to try it and I agreed. She was concerned and very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

The staff was kind enough to get my mom a seat on another flight that day, which was good as she was out of medication after traveling two weeks. 3 of us had to fly standby. The staff said we would automatically be added to the next flight's standby list if we ddin't make it. That was bad information - it didn't happen."

The fee for changing flights was more than the tickets were initially but when you cancel it its tough break for us."

Cons: "Free in-flight entertainment should be offered on all flights of 2+ hours through the United app. Had a family with young kids next to me who would have benefited from it (I saw the father trying to connect to it through the app), and overall it would make the flight a much more pleasant experience. After boarding a full hour later than what was originally said, it would have been nice to kick back with a movie for the flight."

Cons: "When arriving to the airport it was a bit confusing first finding where to get our connecting flight, that may have been an airport problem. But once we got to the right gate our plane was cancel or re-gated/scheduled three times. We had to walk all over the airport with less and less time to spare to make our flight out. When asking for direction or where to go we could never get a straight answer, it seem as if no one knew where to send us. I felt if I was being herded and hustled on getting a flight home, I had no choice in the matter of getting my flight out. If it wasn't for another passenger flying on the same plane we may have missed our flight all together because she was getting alerts on her phone for changes or updates. Once on the flight the air-condition was linking on one of our seat and we were first told to put a blanket over our head until take off, then we saw some empty seats so we asked to move. Once arriving at Cleveland airport we only discover our luggage had not arrived yet, not only did it not arrive we were told it had not yet left London Hethrow Airport and we would maybe get it in 24 hours. This was a problem because some of our personals we needed were in that luggage and we just had to make due and wait and see. We got our luggage the next day only for me to notice my lock was not on my luggage I do not know if this was taken off or I mistakenly left it off but I really do not think I did but I will check with the hotel to see if I left it there. I have always liked United but this really made me think on who to plan my next trip with later this year. And certainly will do my best to avoid coming through New Jersey. :("

Cons: "Flight was delayed over six hours. No explanation was given as to why and the flight was supposed to arrive at 6:45 and we got in at 12:30. Poor service at the gate and then we got on the plane and sat on the Tarmac for an hour with no explanation again. The air wasn't on and not drinks or snacks were offered for our wait time. a disappointing way to end an otherwise great weekend away."

Cons: "When all of the passengers and crew are at the listed gate well before boarding and the gate is changed to a different terminal it adds a lot of stress to the situation. To the crews credit they did not let it effect their professional attitude. I was highly impressed by the employees of the airline to keep things on time and positive. Overall that made the difference between being a bad experience and becoming one of the best flight experiences I have had in years. This flight crew should be considered an example of how to treat customers well."

Cons: "I was rather annoyed that the inflight video monitors played commercials for the entirety of the flight (almost no one elected to pay $8 for TV on what was supposed to be about a one hour trip). The cabin was obnoxiously bright as a result, and it was difficult to avoid being distracted and irritated by the flickering. United should have those screens turned off unless users pay for them-- it would save valuable energy too, wouldn't it? I was also frustrated that we were delayed a number of times because of mechanical difficulties, but I'm grateful that we took off knowing everything worked. Between the late in-bound crew and the mehanical hold ups, we could have all taken the bus and arrived sooner."

Theres a surcharge for everything, including TV! But they announced that because of the delay, they would turn them on for everyone. Except they intermittently worked for half od the plane. The wifi was also spotty. Given the poor state of that equptment, I guess I should be happy we got to our destination at all."

Cons: "This flight was cancelled and I was given no notification. I was only told once I got to the airport. Luckily the staff member I spoke with at checkin was helpful and put me on another airline, but only after she tried to tell me they'd sent an email and said there were no flights til the following day. I had to explain that I hadnt been notified, had taken off work, had just taken a cab there, was 2 hrs early, and due to the nature of my trip not able to leave the following day. Though she was very helpful I feel it was luck and the nature of using a small airport, not something I can expect. Either way I shouldn't have to explain and insist when it was clearly the airline's mistake. When I later checked my email I actually had never recieved a cancellation email, just an email saying cancellation was possible. Overall another bad experience with United. Flew American Airlines and was happy with the flight."

Cons: "I had a carry on but they said the over head compartments were too full. So they grabbed the bag from as I was boarding. They then lost my bag. Now United is refusing to send my bag even though it has been found by the airport lost and found police in a city that was not my destination."

Cons: "There was a 3 hour delay in returning to Cleveland. We tried to get on an earlier flight, but couldn't since we had checked our luggage for the later flight. I don't know why we weren't given the option of the earlier flight when we made our reservation to avoid the long layover. THere would have been enough time to make the connection. Not only was there no consideration of giving us compensation for food, but there was only a minimal snack and a beverage on the way to Cleveland. The airline told us the delay had to be at least 4 hours to get a coupon for food. Well, it was 6 hours before we arrived at our destination. The return flight made a potentially wonderful experience leave much to be desired. What can YOU do for US? I was flying with my husband. I would think twice before using you again for a trip."

Cons: "Their pilots had been on strike for days. They kept us waiting at the airport on my return flight for three hours before telling us the flight was cancelled. They should have started rebooking us on other flights as soon as we got there. By the time they cancelled the flight all the other airlines at the airport were closed. They told us they couldn't help us and we would have to call their 800 number. I was on the phone for 3-1/2 hours on my outgoing flight and didn't have that much time for this flight. They didn't care at all about their customers. In the end it cost them more because they put us up at a hotel for the night and gave us a meal voucher."

Cons: "I feel cheated and deceived. A checked bag costs $50. A carry on costs $55. If you don't realize this before you go the gate it goes from $65 to $100. The counter crew was rude, and the boarding crew in Cleveland was shaking down passengers to be sure they were not "cheating", stopping the boarding process to check passenger receipts. Getting an assigned seat, an extra $15 per person. And there was absolutely no leg room for that extra $15 (which I paid for). These costs should be shared upfront - basically every ticked is $50-$65 more than the website shows. I will not fly this airline again."

Cons: "Our granddaughter's stroller and car seat were not available to us at the gait and we were directed to collect it at the baggage claim area. These two pieces had not arrived in the baggage claim area as well. Therefore, we contacted the airline representative in the lost baggage office. We spent close next two hours trying to locate the missing pieces to no success. We were provided a substitute car seat for her and as we were a minute from our destination in Solon, we received a phone call that those missing pieces were located (we don't know where in the airport) and delivered a couple of hours later. It just speaks to the incompetence of the Spirit airlines staff. I do not think that we shall again fly Spirit in the near future, nor shall we recommend it to other family members or friends."

(Wait, isn't that the agent's JOB - customer service?) Imagine my surprise when I arrived and then had to wait in a line to speak with an agent to check my bag. This is a terrible airline. It really is not cheaper than others when you consider paying for your bag (to check or carry on), that bag can only weigh 40lbs max, paying for WATER on the plane, paying to choose where you sit. Its absurd, really. The seats on the planes do not even recline. Good luck using the tray table for anything other than your $5 cup of water. Its the smallest thing I've ever seen. Choose another airline."

Had to rush through security. Then they where playing gate roulette. Changing gates constantly but not changing boards so no one knew where they needed to be. Delayed because for some reason we had no crew. Then finally an hour after we were supposed to take off they cancel our flight due to weather. Clear sky in florida and weather was fine in cleveland. Then long lines again to try and rebook and get luggage."

I was not the only passenger that was left standing alone. I called spirit and they were no help. I missed my flight, and I wasted $400 dollars. I don't understand why no one would be there if it was there fault that the fight was delayed. Not my fault. Needless to say, I will never use Spirit again and I will make sure anyone I know, never uses them either. I called Spirit later and requested a refund, and I still have not seen this. I am highly disappointed and angry."

The handle was ripped away from the bag and is beyond repair, and the hard plastic liner inside is now in about 400 pieces. The ticket agent at the Ft. Myers airport was rude and somehow manipulated the scales so we had to pay even more to check our bag. The scale numbers kept changing and going up right in front of me, even though the bag was sitting completely still on the scale. I will never fly Spirit Air again. There was no question about what luggage we would be taking during initial booking, which meant we had to pay even bigger fees during check in 24 hours before our trip. It's also unbelievable that they don't even offer water to their customers during a 2 and 1/2 hour flight without charging $3.00. The fare was way more than if I would have just booked with a more reputable airline."

Pros: "This was our first flight with Spirit. Their reputation of being a no frills budget airline stood up when we purchased the tickets for very reduced rate. We expected subpar service and to get scammed on baggage and ticketing somehow. Not the case at all. The ticketing counter was super fast considering the line, they were helpful and even let our 4 lb overweight bag pass without us having to repack everything or pay a big fee. The planes are fine as well. Nothing special. No entertainment really. No food or beverages included for free but again, the price was half of the competition for the same flight. I will use Spirit again."

Of course by then all the flights were sold out for the day and even the next day. So instead of arriving Thursday night I'll get to my destination wedding on Saturday afternoon hopefully making the wedding on time. I feel they waited too long or didn't know that the flight was cancelled already, otherwise why would you have over 100 people board a plane completely only to have them get up and get off the plane."
