Germany has restricted the entry of travelers who are arriving from outside the European Economic Area, except for nationals of Germany, residents with a residence permit, and D-Visa holders, and certain exceptions (detailed below).
As of June 25, travelers arriving from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland or the United Kingdom may enter Germany.
Germany has also lifted restrictions on entry for travelers coming from the following countries: Australia, Canada, Georgia, New Zealand, Thailand and Uruguay. Travelers must have spent at least 2 weeks in the above-listed countries prior to their flight to Germany. Restrictions will also be lifted for entry from South Korea, China and Japan if this can be agreed on a reciprocal basis. The list will be reviewed every two weeks.
Entry from any third country is possible for travelers who can demonstrate an important reason for their travel. The list of important reasons covers German and EU citizens and any third-country nationals with a right of residency in Germany. It also includes healthcare and social care personnel and health researchers, skilled workers whose economic activity is necessary and cannot be postponed or performed from abroad, freight and transport staff, seasonal workers, students who cannot continue their studies from abroad, travelers making visits for urgent family reasons, diplomats and staff at international organizations, and persons transiting Germany.
Travelers entering Germany after staying in a designated risk area abroad during the previous 14 days must undergo mandatory testing for COVID-19. The German government regularly updates its list of designated risk areas. See the "English archive" at the bottom of the Robert Koch Institute page for the latest updated list.
Travelers who need to be tested have the choice to either present a valid test taken within 48 hours prior to arrival, take a test on arrival at the airport, or take a test after returning to their place of residence in Germany, by reporting to the local health office. The test is free of charge if taken within 72 hours of arrival. Travelers with a negative test may be exempted from the 14-day self-isolation requirement, but some German states require a second negative test before granting an exemption from quarantine.
Quarantine requirements in Germany differ depending on the German state. All travelers arriving from high-risk areas (over 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) are required to stay in quarantine for 14 days on arrival in Germany. More information can be found here.

So for the price I thought what the heck! I was extremely pleased with the service from the cabin crew. They are always polite, professional, and well trained compared to my previous favorites Delta and Lufthansa. The seats were comfortable (as comfortable as Economy and 24hours of flying can be), the entertainment and aircraft were state of the art, and the food was outstanding for airline food. If I get the chance in the future I will definitely choose Qatar Airways for long trips."

Cons: "The legroom was a problem. Seats are kind of narrow, and then, with the lack of legroom it’s somewhat challenging to shift your legs, especially when the seat in front of you goes back! I felt like the person was almost in my lap. My cup even got crunched. I think my biggest issue, though, lay in how I was treated after paying $127.00 to obtain a day pass for the lounge each way. For my inbound flight my purse was branded with an “economy” class luggage type tag, and I was made to feel as though I was trying to sneak in. I had to show my boarding pass a number of times to employees after asking for the location of the lounge in order to be directed there, and then my credentials were examined as though I was trying to get into Fort Knox. Upon arrival at the desk, I was somewhat tersely informed that I had 6 hours. I went out of my way a bit in order to fly Qatar, which is supposed to be so wonderful, and I was underwhelmed. I’ve had better experiences on Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines."

Meal preferences was good - I'm a vegetarian and on the onward journey forgot to specify the meal preference but the crew had enough inventory to meat the requirements. 3. Every seat was provided with a small plastic pouch/packet/goodie bag that consisted of a eye mask (very thoughtful), pair of sock, toothpaste+brush (very thoughtful), hand cream. This was very useful and effective. 4. Entertainment - options were good and current."

It would have been good, as part of the online check-in, if the users reminded to specify the meal preferences, etc. I forgot to specify the meal preferences but thankfully the crew had enough of what I wanted. 3. Take a relook at the packaging of the toothpaste tube in the goodie bag. It was sealed in such a way that it was difficult to open it w/o a sharp object. This should have been easier. 4. Seats were the worst part - poor legroom. Worst, the seat cushion is the worst. I think it was just a fabric over a metal seat with minimalist of cushion. ATL to DOH leg was the worst (and the longest leg of the trip). Unless you have open seats next to you it would be a back breaking and painful trip. Seat comfort wise, I would rate Qatar as the worst. Luckily on the return leg (DOH-ATL) next two seats to mine was empty, so was able to stretch and sleep well. DOH-MAA or MAA-DOH seating was little better (think its a older plane; newer planes have worst seats) 5. The website was damn slow while accessing from overseas. Even in the US, at times the website hangs-up, freezes or spins often. 6. Food was ok -dinner and lunch but minimalistic; I didnt see any specific breakfast menu or any coffee served separately (was part of beverage option during lunch or dinner) 7. There was no alert, communication, notification, reminder of upcoming trip via email or text, etc. Many airlines does this very often but Qatar was totally silent on it (they did have my email during checkin). Not sure why."

No separation between seats - it was a 2, 4, 2 layout and the guy next to me coughed all night. At least I wasn't in one of the middle seats. Expensive flight for that type of setup IMHO. The problem was how little the attendants at the gate communicated the situation to us. What should have been a brief layover became a 12 hour nightmare. The gate attendants did finally issue meal vouchers but they waited until 10 minutes before all the restaurants closed and only issued $10 a person. This is enough to buy a hot dog at an airport... We were told there wouldn't be any rescheduling of missed connections until we were "airborne". This resulted in mass panic and confusion upon reaching our destination. We were told to go to the service desk, half an airport away, but once the entire passenger contents of the plane arrived at that far flung service desk, we were mostly turned away to seek help at individual gates. This lack of communication meant I missed the next next available connecting flight and now have a further six hour layover. I understand accidents happen and planes can break down but the nearly complete lack of care and customer attention is, frankly, disappointing. I've now had nearly an entire day added to my travel time. If I'd been willing to loose that time I would have paid $600 less for my ticket. United finally offered a token of their appreciation : a $100 e-voucher. I have spent more than that on food and coffee in airports for the past two days while trying to survive until my next connections."

I'm a hit disappointed since It was a while after the take of and I was not taking anyone sit..."

Cons: "First, our flight UA 194 was redirected back to SFO after 2 hrs of flight due to problem with weather sensor device or something of flight. Then we were cheated and provided with Economy class seat from FRA to MAA for the next day. We paid for full Business from SFO to India but our connecting flight was changed to Economy seat. Very very very poor and fraud technique from United crew. We are very sad about this and we will never ever take United or Lufthansa again. Never ever + we will request all our relatives to abandon these kind of cheaters."

Cons: "My flight out of Houston was five hours late because of maintenance. This caused me to miss my connection. The rebooked connection was 5 hours after we landed and still my luggage did not make it. The rescheduled flight was supposed to arrive just after midnight, but because of lost luggage, I didn't get out of the airport until 2 am and missed my ride."
Pros: "Nothing in particular. The flight was "saved" by having a friendly fellow passenger sitting next to me. She was pleasant to talk to, but that had nothing to do with the services provided by United."
Cons: "Overall, I find United flights to Europe to be fairly unpleasant. Sometimes the staff can be nice. On this flight female staff with whom I interacted were nice, but the steward who was serving people near me seemed abrupt and largely uninterested in us. In fact he lectured an elderly woman about stowing her luggage for several minutes without realizing she did not understand him. The reason was she was Polish and did not speak any English. I had called out to him several times to tell him this, but he did not hear me. The seats on the flight were very cramped (I sat in 37G). By comparison, I found the seats in the Lufthansa flight I took from Munich to Tel Aviv to be much more spacious. In comparison to Lufthansa, I think United is a second class (or worse) airline."

Pros: "Flight was smooth and on board crew was nice and helpful. Flight attendant noticed I came on with a cane and offered to have a wheelchair ride available in the SF airport. Reminding me that it was a large airport. I declined, but she encouraged me to try it and I agreed. She was concerned and very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

They didn't assign seats and when I tried to call first they said wait until 24 hours in advance or pay $100 THEN when I tried to check in 24 hours in advance they wouldn't assign seats bc the first leg was operated by United. They then said United couldn't assign seats at check in - only at the gate AND THEN the said they couldn't assign seats for our second leg because it was operated by Luftansa. It was ridiculous added stress on our honeymoon and my husbands first cross Atlantic trip. Made me never want to fly Luftansa/United transatlantic again (and I have been a milageplus card holder so that's saying something)"
