And for this particular trip the video boards weren't working.. This made it even harder to figure out what baggage claim to go to. And there were few announcements about it. Putting the baggage claim on the app, I think, would have made it a better experience."

Somehow European airlines manage not to freeze out all their passengers. It was less than a two hour flight but felt like an eternity because it was so uncomfortable. Seat size - this is absolutely the smallest it can/should go. I am pretty skinny, but even I'm running out of room and the seat backs could be made a bit more comfortable. Not only is there almost no recline, but the way they are constructed - they actually push my head forward - not made for short people."

Cons: "Seeing as this flight was cancelled and we had to wait as two elderly people until 3pm the next day to get another flight and American Airlines would not compensate in anyway. I would say that we will never fly American Airlines again nor will my family. This was not the only delay or cancellation because of American either. We spent 48 hours traveling because of delays and cancellations and still American would do nothing for us. I'm 66 and my husband is 72 (who also has had back surgery for five slipped discs) and we had to sleep on concrete floors and had very limited money to buy food. It was by far the worst experience of my life and I would encourage everyone to not travel with them."

So i go to the terminal and wait patiently at my gate for my flight to arrive. The departure came but it wasn't for Tennessee it was for Norfolk?? So when i went to the flight agent asked her what happened to the Tennessee flight, she said the flight left 2 hours ago. And when i mentioned no one said anything different about some gate checks had been changed. So i ended up missing my regular flight back home to Tennessee, no thanks to everyone involved, and had to wait an extra 2 hours to receive another flight back to Tennessee. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!"

Reminding me that it was a large airport. I declined, but she encouraged me to try it and I agreed. She was concerned and very helpful."
Cons: "The plane was a small plane and we had to disembark on the tarmac. There were two attendants with wheelchairs but they didn't have my name so I walked on. The flight attendant called to me and said to wait. One of the attendants came up with a wheelchair and said he would take me. Unfortunately, a steep ramp had to be used to get into the airport building. He asked another worker to help him and all the way up the ramp I had to listen to comments about "good thing they had eaten their Wheaties" and "they were getting a good workout." I know that I am not a small person, but these ongoing comments were rude and insulting. When we got into the gate the attendant told me that he didn't have my name on his list and had to call for permission to take me through the airport. I waited and he came back and said he couldn't take me, but if I could wait someone else could come for me. I had waited enough already and suffered their rude comments, so I said no thanks and walked slowly through the airport. This experience has left me with a bad feeling for the airline and its personnel. I believe their staff could use sensitivity training at the very least!"

Cons: "Someone was sitting in my seats and instead of making him move they made us move and tried splitting up my wife and 6 month old child about 4 rows apart. The air started blowing very hot air about halfway through the flight. Everyone was sweating and it was better to just turn the air off completely then keep it on. They tried taking care of it which helped for 5 minutes and then it started blowing hot again. Also the WiFi would kick you off after about 30 seconds and then make you go through a login that takes like 60 seconds. Needless to say... this was the first time I haven't flown Southwest in years... and with the kind of experience it's no wonder why it won't happen again any time soon."

Nobody cared to explain me what happened, nobody came to me with an apologize, and a flight assistant on my way back made also fun of me for being the last one. This is a ridiculous customer service, I told all my friends and will tell all my finance coworkers as well to not use United anymore."

Luckily the staff member I spoke with at checkin was helpful and put me on another airline, but only after she tried to tell me they'd sent an email and said there were no flights til the following day. I had to explain that I hadnt been notified, had taken off work, had just taken a cab there, was 2 hrs early, and due to the nature of my trip not able to leave the following day. Though she was very helpful I feel it was luck and the nature of using a small airport, not something I can expect. Either way I shouldn't have to explain and insist when it was clearly the airline's mistake. When I later checked my email I actually had never recieved a cancellation email, just an email saying cancellation was possible. Overall another bad experience with United. Flew American Airlines and was happy with the flight."

Pros: "It's cheap(ish) so you lose all the comfort. I'm glad you no longer have to pay for printing your ticket. That's ridiculous. For the "cheapness" of this flight, there were all these additional fees on the way--which can be a good or bad thing since you are guaranteed not to absorb other people's cost. However, you lose the opportunity to access those additional perks people tend to get when airlines do this--distributing the costs as an average means you'd pay a fraction of the cost if (for instance) you lucked out with an exit-row seat. I s'pose, flying Spirit is a lot like how Republicans view healthcare: if you are poor, despite having access to BIG seats, carry-on space, checked baggage etc., you can only afford the bare minimum--that means a very uncomfortable flight that I wouldn't suggest being conscious for (I passed out as soon as I sat down and still woke up sore AF and inexplicably angry, as if my body were unconsciously offended by the whole situation). But if you've got the cash to spare, you're definitely going to get a comfortable ride whilst paying less money for your flight. Also, airport staff (on and off the plane) are reliably rude and unattentive--which is to be expected for the cheapness of this flight. I say this as a pro because I prefer minimal interaction with flight crew and staff because I'm usually tired and grumpy or disoriented from waking up uncomfortable and 3,000ft in the air). No free drink/food service so not a lot of people eating on board which is great because I've got BAD food allergies. Also, I get annoyed when I wake up to some nutbag munching on peanuts/cookies/pretzels like he's never eaten food in his life--meanwhile, I'm gasping from anaphylaxis. All in all, I don't really know how it's possible that this airline model still exists. I have two theories: (1) They don't oversell their seats; no one is ever booted, so it's a guaranteed flight and better odds if you're on standby. (2) People assume it's going to be an awful experience, so if it is an awful experience then it's all just par for the course (I call this the "Gas Station Sushi Effect:" you assume you're going to get food poison, but you eat it anyway because you're poor AF. And an hour later when you're hunched over the toilet, dry-heaving, and spewing vile from all your orifices, you're NOT gonna think "I gotta file a complaint with the health inspector for this gas station's sushi." You're gonna think "I shouldn't have eaten gas station sushi." Because shame on you for buying gas station sushi, bro. And shame on me too.) Spirit is the "gas station sushi" of the airline industry (Frontier/EZjet would be the "gas station hotdog" because they don't try to market themselves as being "Millenial" or "smart," and can be pleasant experiences (if you don't mind the fact that if the plane crashed, you WILL die--it's a tin can). I guess regardless of your tax bracket, people are cheap AF (including me!); so, Spirit."

I don't know what is going on with the online system, but it doesn't match. Also, I faced technical issues every time I checked in online--I lost my boarding pass; I couldn't purchase seats, etc. And then I wasn't able to review my boarding pass. Also, I couldn't find a mechanism for adding the ticket to my apple wallet (which is the best way for me to keep track of it, personally--and to be expected for a company marketing to poor AF millenials). In the end, I just took a screenshot and added it to my photos or converted it to a pdf and texted it to myself because I'm resourceful AF."

I'm rating the crew mediocre mostly because of the lack of food/beverage, which I'm not entirely sure whether or not they have control over. Also, I heard more than one guest ask a flight attendant how much time we had left, and her response was typically pretty condescending about how we've "only been in the air for x amount of time." Truly, I'll never fly Spirit again. They try to make it look less expensive than other flights until you're smacked with a $40 fee for a standard carry-on, which brings it right up to the price of everything else. I can only hope they improve with their growth as a company."

I didn't even get to experience a flight with Spirit and not too sure if I even want to. Spirit either has to do better or just stop taking people money especially with the excessive baggage and seat fees I have seen."

The stewardesses (I guess they are still called that) were very friendly as well. Overall, a wonderful group of people."
