I was late because customs took long and the flight from Taipei was 30 minutes late. So it's not like I was wasting time. I did not appreciate that the blame was placed on me in the way the counter people communicated with me. I noticed that the counter woman, and the supervisor did not speak to me at all. Not even to say "let me find out" or "sorry for the inconvenience" but both did speak to other customers that were of Asian Descent. They communicated both in English and Chinese. The young woman that booked the flight for me (different one from counter woman) was decent and attentive. Sherry who was the third woman I dealt with when I needed to sort the baggage issue was very attentive even explaining to the supervisor why It was the second time I was back at their offices. She went out of her way to make sure I saw my bags delivered to the UA luggage. But again, I am very disappointed and can't help to notice that other passengers received basic cordial treatment when I was blatantly ignored."

I understand that things happen, but most of the problems today seem to have been preventable. First, our plane in Lihue was delayed for over 3 hours because they could not get a working fuel truck to fill the plane. Three hours? This caused us to miss our connection in LA, although just barely. We had to wait onboard so that we could use the same gate that our outgoing plane was departing from. If we had just been sent to a different gate we. Oils have made our original flight. So, they put us on a flight to Chicago because there were no more flights to Minneapolis. Then, once in Chicago the incoming plane was delayed and we sat on the tarmac for 40 minutes before deplaning. Then after an hour delay we were told the crew was on the ground and we were boarded. Sat in the plane for another hour, then we’re told we were still waiting for crew members that were delayed so we deplaned again. Another 90 minutes past and we got back on the plane and sat for another 45 minutes. We are finally pulling away from the gate. Hallelujah!"

It's like you have to go to class on how to walk through the aisle and not be an idiot."

I did know I needed a document to transit Canada but their website is absolutely not straight forward in telling you what you need to do. I read there was an exempt till September 2016 and since I was flying before it, I thought I would be fine. While I understand it was my fault for not doing my research, it's the way the airline company handled the situation that incredibly frustrated me. There is no empathy or willingness to help a traveler about to embark on their journey, when they are told they can't board. I didn't know you needed a visa just to transit!! It's just stone cold responses and haughtiness. It's a new rule, cut me some slack! They just pushed me off to a partner airline and I was asked to pay 1500$ for a one way flight. I m getting very frustrated with airlines of late! Customer service sucks. There is no genuine empathy for a person in a bind. It's all about making money and getting you out of the line. I'm just disappointed."

Cons: "I was delayed by a connecting flight and there was no way to pre-check, notify the airline or get ahold of anyone to let this be known in advance. I tried customer service for airline, for travel agent etc. no way to get ahold of anyone. Thought I was there at the time of boarding, they would not let me board, because I was not within their 1 hour check in time so I missed the flight. Since connections to Korea are only once per day, I was delayed a full 24 hours and endured several more hardships that could have been easily avoided with some good customer service. Also, it was stifling hot inside the aircraft and the crew could not seem to help cool it off despite twice asking them to get me some air-flow."

We asked for a beer when the first drink service came around and were told only juice or water was available, while the next row of seats were served multiple beers without issue. After the service was over we rang the attendant button, it was immediately shut off and no one came to assist us. Rows ahead and behind us ran an attendant and were served. We asked again for a beer and were told they didn’t have it (these were all by the same attendant that was serving our area, who was liberally serving others in our area) We eventually got up to and went to the service station, where 5-7 other passengers were standing, helping themselves to beers in the carts and pouring themselves wine while flight attendants stood there chatting with them and continuing to ignore us. Eventually we were able to get ones attention and were able to secure two beers, after being told Mulltuple times that they didn’t have them, while other passengers were being served multiple at a time, or helping themselves to the beverage carts in the service areas. Staff was unprofessional and the entire flight was a battle for service. I have flown many 12+ hour flights and never had any stress or issues whatsoever, this was a new and frankly terrible experience. I am wishing my flight home was not with this airline, as I am afraid of a repeat."
