Jamaica has reopened its borders to international travelers.
Jamaica has extended the travel ban on flights from the UK until at least March 22.
Travelers residing in Jamaica for a minimum of six continuous months in a calendar year must complete a travel authorization before departure.
Travelers not residing in Jamaica must present a travel authorization before departure obtained at https://www.visitjamaica.com.
Residents of the US, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama are required to present a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result issued within 10 days prior to departure.
Effective on March 4 until March 10, travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result test result issued within 10 days prior to departure.
Effective on March 11, travelers must have a medical certificate with a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to departure.
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from testing requirements.
Effective on March 4, passengers traveling on business are subject to a COVID-19 RT-PCR test upon arrival, at their own expense.
Travelers are subject to medical screening and could be subject to a 14-day quarantine.
Travelers arriving from the UK are subject to a 48-hour state quarantine and PCR testing. Travelers who test negative will be fitted with an armband for monitoring and released to complete the 14 day quarantine at home, while those found to be positive will be isolated in state facilities until recovered. Travelers can be picked up from the quarantine facility once quarantine is completed.
All travelers arriving in Jamaica will be subject to the following quarantine requirements:
Category 1: Jamaican nationals and non-nationals ordinarily resident in Jamaica - may be subject to testing if assessed as high-risk and are required to remain in quarantine at home for 14 days from their date of entry to Jamaica.
Category 2: Non-residents visiting Jamaica for tourism purposes and staying at approved “resilient corridor” accommodation - may be tested at the airport or a designated facility, and would wait for the results in travelers hotel rooms. If the test is negative, they would remain at their hotel/resort within the “resilient corridor” and restricted to property under the “Stay in Resilient Corridor” measure. Details of ‘resilient corridor’ accommodation can be found on the Visit Jamaica website.
Category 3: Non-residents visiting Jamaica for business purposes - all residents of the US, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Panama travelling to Jamaica for business purposes are required to upload a COVID-19 RT-PCR test in order to obtain a Travel Authorization. The test should be conducted within 10 days of the intended travel date. Business travelers will also be tested on arrival at the airport in Jamaica. They will wait for their test results under a “Quarantine for Business Traveller” measure at their hotel/intended address. If the test is negative, they would be released from quarantine and be under a “Stay at Intended Address for Business Travellers” measure for a period of 14 days from their date of entry to Jamaica or for the duration of their stay if shorter than 14 days.
Category 4: Non-residents visiting Jamaica for other purposes including tourists not staying within the “resilient corridor” - travelers who are not required to pre-test may be required to be tested at the airport or other designated facility, if assessed by the health authorities as high-risk. They will then wait for their test results under quarantine at their hotel/intended address. Whether they need to be tested or not, travelers need to remain in quarantine at home for 14 days from the date of entry to Jamaica. If travelers needed to be tested and the test is negative, they must remain in quarantine at home for 14 days from the date of entry to Jamaica.
Travelers tested positive for COVID-19 will be isolated either at home or in a government facility as determined by the health authorities.

Cons: "My mother, Linda Thompson, has a progressive neuromuscular disorder, Dystonia. Along with this condition, stress can bring on non-epileptic seizures. My mother has had to endure one of these seizures due to the stress that this incident had put her through. As my mother's power of attorney, I am helping her vocalize this incident that she has experienced. The image below shows the spot where she was left, in the Atlanta airport, in her wheelchair. Delta airlines says they provide safe, accessible travel to all of their passengers. That includes providing an employee to transport physically disabled persons to and from their flights and to their shuttle. An employee accompanied my mother when she got off of her plane arriving in Atlanta from Charlotte. This employee was obligated to transport her where she needed to go. Due to her first flight being delayed, she missed her connecting flight in Atlanta, and had to stay the night until the connection could be made in the morning. They provided her with a voucher to a local hotel and a shuttle to that hotel. The employee who met her at the gate was obligated to help her get to that shuttle so she could get to her hotel in time. As many of us may know, Atlanta airport is one of the largest. You might need to take a train to get from one area to the next. It would be very difficult for my mother to walk that distance with her cane, and that is why she needed a wheelchair. The inconsiderate, selfish employee of whom needed to transport my mother to her destination was coming to the end of his shift. He attempted to hand my mother off to another employee at the desk while she was getting her voucher. Told her it was the end of his shift and he had to clock out. She told him, "You can't leave her here". Her statement, and the way she stated it, made my mother feel like she was a piece of luggage. She ignored it and let the employee take her on her way. She just wanted him to take her to her shuttle so that she could get to her hotel and rest. That did not happen. He strolled my mother along for a moment until they were out of site. They approached a gate, of which was empty, and he told her to wait here for an agent to come by. He left. She waited...and waited. No one ever came and assisted her. She was left like a piece of luggage in the middle of the Atlanta airport with no one around. My mother was treated like a bag that someone did not want to carry around anymore. This situation and the selfishness of that employee makes me think of who else could have been treated like this, or who else could be treated like this in the future. Help me spread this message so that something can be done about this issue. Delta has already been contacted, they do not care enough to do anything about it. I bet they will if this message gets heard by their potential future passengers."

Cons: "We were seated in the back row and the seats did not recline. What made that even worse, is they are COMPLETELY upright. I mean you are sitting at nearly a 90 degree angle! The other rows un-reclined had more recline than the last row. This was an older 737 and those seats never should have been installed on that plane. Luckily, there were a few empty seats and we were able to move, although not together. 3 of our 4 flights were on newer planes, and on one other flight we were also seated in the back row. But, those seats reclined and were as comfortable as any other seat on the plane. COPA, if you're reading this, kudos to your great operation, but do NOT use that horrible old 737 on such a long flight. Or, only use those seats for standbys!"

Cons: "The seats are not very comfortable and the legroom is very cramped. I flew from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, and I don't think I will fly that far again with Spirit, but would consider Spirit for a shorter flight. It would have been nice to get a cup of water without having to pay for it."

Our flight was delayed because a passenger checked in a bag that checked-in bag was on our plane however the passenger was late and didn't make it to the gate. We end up waiting also for airline traffic on the runway our fight was supposed to take off at 10:45 a.m. and we didn't take off to 11:30 a.m."

They didn't care. It was embarrassing. Now I need to save up for new shoes. They did not care about me and my situation. I flew home for my sisters wedding, I missed 4 days of work with no pay. My Mom had to budget for the and ticket because I couldn't . The staff is horrible at Ohare. The airlines apologized to my Mom via email. Told her I could have a $50 voucher, I can't afford another trip. What a joke! Nick M."
Cons: "My Oakley sunglasses in my checked luggage did not make it back from my flight. I should have paid a little more for money for a better airline. I am not a large guy and both of my shoulders were both in my neighbors seats. The fold down tray, my cell phone is bigger. All of my flights were delayed, some more than others. Never again Spirit. Trying to save a few bucks and had to spend $50+ per check bag and lost a $160 pair of shades."

We may not be able to meet the redemption requirements and will probably lose the entire value. The process created so much frustration and wasted so much time. The low-ish price is simply not worth it."

The flight attendants never attempted to talk to the man & let him know his kids needed to be seated for safety. Everyone within 10 rows of this family had a terrible flight & no staff even attempted to acknowledge any of it. I will never fly Spirit again."
