Pros: "1st - boarding at hongkong was a pain. You line up at security just to transfer/transit. Then another line up to get inside the boarding area where they again check your ticket and boarding pass. Then theres another line at the gate where they scan your boarding pass. Just when you think you're done, there's another line right before you enter the plane where they check all the hand carry of the passengers. Overkill! 2nd - the crew - not very friendly at all. I noticed they spent more time chitchatting with the caucasian in front of me than with the rest of the asians around me. No smiles for the passengers - not even when they lined up to say hi and goodbye. They were just going through the motions. When they answered the call lights of the ladies in front and beside me, they were curt and abrupt. It was a good thing i didnt need them for anything. Then i happened to go to the restroom and i saw them chatting among themselves in the back while the bathroom was a mess. 3rd - seats were ok, but were narrower 4th - food was hot but the dinner wasnt appetizing at all - some kind of meatball/mashed potato slush. I could only eat less than a quarter of the entree. The breakfast was ok- egg was ok, the bacon was soggy and the sausage was not salty which was a plus. 5th - a lot of movie choices! Helped pass the time quickly"

Unfortunately, because of weather/immigration problems at the destination, we weren't able to disembark for another 90 minutes. But I think the cabin crew handled this well, handing out both drinks and snacks. The captain also kept us informed, and also seemed to play a role in negotiating with the airport authorities to allow us to disembark at another gate. Otherwise it may have been a longer ordeal."
Cons: "The security measures for US bound flights made things more confusing for boarding. This wasn't the airline's responsibility, and the security check was fast and professional. Next time I hope they work better with the customers to make sure we know what is going on. But this is a small complaint on my part."

Pros: "The Denpasar Airport had been closed for days due to Ash/Volcano Agung, so luckily our Flight departed as planned, and on time. Was easily re-assigned a new seat (middle to aisle) at the gate. The staff was attentive and courteous."

We were in Thailand when Bali's Mount Agung erupted and called Cathay Pacific requesting our fees be waived to change our return flight from Denpasar, Hong Kong, Newark to Bangkok-Hong Kong-Newark. Cathay Pacific said the fee to change our flight is $350, and plus the difference in the new ticket price. That option was very expensive. We were very stressed about returning to Bali due to the High Alert warnings. The Denpasar Airport was closed for days -- and our request was not unreasonable."

The airport crew had no information as to the reason for the cancellation, giving the appearance that my hypothesis is true."

Pros: "For the 15 hour flight from Hong Kong, they served two meals and put out snacks and drinks in the galleys in the interim. The dinner was pretty decent, and they gave a small bottle of water along with Hagen Daz ice cream. The seats reclined pretty well for economy class (the bottom of the seat shifted too, which was unexpected). Power outlets at every seat and an extensive entertainment system with movies from Eastern and Western culture."

Cons: "On the way to Newark was terrible because of the food. Both dinner and breakfast half of my row were served last compare to everyone else sitting before us or after us. The rice dishes were gone both times when the food got to me. I can understand if it was just one meal, but it was disappointing that I wasn't able to eat rice during the whole 15 hours of trip. It would also be understandable if the row right before me wasn't served 20 mins prior to us, and the row right after me wasn't served 15 mins before us. I just couldn't understand how it was arranged. Maybe I should've ask for service right before they start serving meal."

The moat important thing about the flight is there was just one restroom in the center of the flight and obviously its always occupied. So most of the times you end up walking to the end of the plane to use the rest room."

I usually travel with my son who's 3 I been flying many different airlines and I know in every airlines the most annoying is the tiny restroom I don't even want to go in there. 2nd of all Most of the cabin crew are very nice and very polite some aren't when you hit the service button you are expected someone that willing to help not the face like what the heck you want from me??? It's the long flight I understand and I'm exhausted too I just need to see someone willing to help and with a big smile not grumpy face. One last thing is the food. I'm not sure who's think about the menu for kids I'm not sure it is my son or the food But he never touch the food only thing he ate are the dinner roll I hope I can see some change for kid menu pick somethings that most kid like to eat maybe? We had to be re-routed via 3 separate flights jus to make our international connection thanks to our initial flight being moved up 2 hours EARLY. They closed the door in our faces. That added 8 hours of travel time to our trip which I had booked to minimize travel time as I was traveling with pets. United is the WORST."

They even hand out wet wipes for you before serving food, so you can feel clean! They also skipped my husband when they came around with the drinks... we had to hit the call button. I will book my next trip with another airline."

I also paid extra to be in the exit row, to have people constantly congregating in front of us.The food was also mediocre."

Cons: "There are two types of foot-rests, both are a nuisance for people with long legs. The one popping up from below one's seat is extremely hard to put back in place. The metallic one folding down from under the seat in front cannot be secured back and is always in the way if the passenger needs to stretch his/her legs. This seems to be a new appliance, and I jut wish they would do away with it altogether. More is not necessarily better."

Cons: "The transition from the flight to the terminal at LHR was not optimal, though the staff were trying their best. The "jetty" ramp way for normal deplaning was broken, they said, so they brought a set of steep aluminum steps instead. Navigating these steep steps was not possible for some passengers (difficulty walking and with steps), so finally they called a mechanical lift device (like a fork lift) to help those passengers, many in wheelchairs, who couldn't manage the steps. We had to wait for at least 30-40 minutes on the plane for the lift to arrive and stand outside on its platform up in the air, waiting to be ready to descend to ground level. This was pretty uncomfortable and it made our connection time very short. To compound matters, once on the ground, there was a wheelchair available for only one of us, though 2 had been requested, but as on other flights through LHR, there was unfortunately not enough staff to push it through Term. 5 to the connecting flight. So, I had to do that myself, along with managing my own luggage, which was a bit challenging, as I was tired by then. Our flight connection time, already much shortened by the deplaning situation, was evaporating steadily. Fortunately, there was an excellent staff member from Heathrow, who had been assigned to push someone else's wheelchair, who guided our group of wheelchairs, complete with hand luggage and children, though the maze of Term. 5, through very busy security and finally to our gate. We would have gotten lost and even if not, would almost surely have missed the flight without this guide facilitating this trek. We made the connecting flight with barely 5 minutes to spare."

Hebgave me the option to flight the next day or flight the same day, and after a 2 hour delay flight to Charlotte where I would be provided a hotel room and a meal for the night. I asked several times if that information was confirmed and he repeatedly said yes. At my arrival at Charlotte Airport (near midnight) every AA employee said that they did NOT have any more hotels. It was obvious that everything was a staged lie since over 100 people had to spend the night in one of the the terminals where we were provided a pillow and a blanket. I am terribly disappointed for the lack of transparency in AA. I was told my some friends that they also have had experiences like that at the same Charlotte Airport. You have damage once again your reputation and from no own in will expect THE WORST from AA."
