Top airline flying Chicago to Trenton Trenton-Mercer
Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Flight was smooth. Company made good for their delay and provided a voucher for the inconvenience. Nice move by the airline."
Cons: "Delayed about 2 hours due to maintenance issue."
Pros: "It arrived on time."
Cons: "The plane was filthy."
Pros: "Friendly staff, good seats."
Cons: "Baggage prices"
Cons: "The flight attendant who presented the pre-flight info was snarky, made inappropriate remarks that she thought were funny and was unprofessional. This totally undermined my confidence in the crew. I think they should present that they take our safely seriously. I am unlikely to use this airline again."
Pros: "The crew had a great attitude and was able to make us laugh despite the fact that we were leaving late."
Cons: "The plane was dirty- there was balled up gum wrappers, food wrappers, and bites of food on the airplane floor. To make maters worse the carpet was already stained in multiple spots. My tray table also was dirty with sticky soda that had spilled on a prior flight. I was quite disgusted by the condition of the plane."
Cons: "Problem with the bathrooms had to sit on plane over hour waiting to be fixed. No refreshments served. Couldn't pay for bag on line so had to pay at checkin ..... not fair!"
Pros: "Bag charged"
Cons: "Look like frontier is always late"
Pros: "Very efficient."
Cons: "No free beverage."
Cons: "The crew made us move from the seats I booked without a good explanation"
Pros: "Crew was amiable."
Cons: "Fees for carry on were hidden and expensive. Boarding called groups 1&2 immediately, the. 3&4 within 30 seconds. This was due to plane being delayed. In either case the boarding turned into a zoo."
Pros: "The website when you try to check in online is deceptive. It seems as though all seats and carry on luggage cost extra money. They should change that."
Pros: "There wasn't any in flight entertainment and I didn't order food, so that's why my rating is neutral. Our flight back was 30 min early, so that was great."
Pros: "Crew were arguing with passengers over seating arrangements and when it came time to throw out garbage at the end they completely ignored half of the rows. Even after the lady next to me yelling to get their attention."
Cons: "See above."
Cons: "Lots of screaming children, but I had to fly to Orlando."
Cons: "The seats were uncomfortable, over priced snacks, no foods."
Pros: "On time"
Cons: "All the hidden costs"
Pros: "I will never fly Frontier again. Poor customer service. Poor baggage handling. Poor timeliness of flight and baggage delivery. Poor communication of flight delays and baggage mix-ups. Understaffed. Undertrained. Poor seats, particularly considering I paid for the best. Inadequate compensation for 8+ hour delay and missing baggage for 3 days. After all the nickel and diming for seats, baggage (checked AND carry on) it would have cost me less to fly my preferred carrier and avoided every hassle, not to mention the inadequate compensation (again). Horrible, horrible experience."

Pros: "The staff were very nice."
Pros: "The price was the main reason behind booking. We thought we were getting a great deal on airfare from Chicago to Vegas, and it was a great base fare."
Cons: "The add-ons are where they get you. Pay to check a bag, and then when your bag returns to you demolished (seriously, they broke a wheel off my boyfriend's bag, which has been on many trips via other carriers with no damage, and they tore all the trim off my bag, which i have used for hardcore travel almost monthly). Pay to get decent seating. Pay for refreshments--that's right folks, if you want water on this flight, it'll cost you. Gate agents were huddling, talking to each other while we waited at the front of the line and folks stacked up behind us. Unprofessional. I'm sticking with Southwest from now on. No thanks, frontier."
Pros: "One of the crew members was extremely friendly and helpful."
Cons: "I was not made aware at any point in my booking process that I would be charged for a carry-on, a carry-on?!?! And that the carry-on would cost more than a checked bag. They also charge for water, I mean seriously a cup of water, not a bottled water, just a cup of regular ole' water. You also have to pay additionally for an actual seat assignment on the plane. I will be sure to never book them again! I could have flown with a better carrier for the same price after the nickel-and-dime routine i had to go through with Frontier. On top of everything else, the flight was delayed!"
Pros: "Pay extra for another airlines. Frontier is uncomfortable and you have to pay for everything after the ticket. You only end up saving minimal amounts."
Pros: "Frontier airines was great. We got a ridiculously cheap flight so to pay $30 for a carry on was no problem. We knew all the fees up front so we planned accordingly and packed light. Staff was friendly and organized. Flight got in early."
Cons: "The flight was fine.. We didn't know that we have to pay a luggage fee for a carry on for $45.. I was surprised when they told us to pay since carry on so far in other flights were free.. The seats weren't comfortable since it doesn't recline. This plane really is only good for probably a one hour flight not 4 hours because you can't even relaxed and reclined your seat.. All food you have to pay including water.. I will never fly frontier ever again..."
Pros: "Original ticket price was cheaper than any other, and flight time options were great for an early flight out or late flight in, etc."
Cons: "Cheap and cheap. O'hare has an awful set-up for bag check and security for frontier/spirit/virgin/other cheap airlines together. You wait to print, then wait to check, then wait to drop your own bags (with zero instruction or customer service or signage), then wait for security. They hate for EVERYTHING: just to check in for your flight and pick a seat. $11-17-37 to sit together. Each. And then for bags. $35 to check and $60 to carry on (makes no sense) even when checking in online early. And even more cost to have both checked and carry on. And seats don't recline, that costs more. And have a 4inch by 5 inch-ish tray table. And EVERYTHING costs money onboard from WATER to Pepsi to snacks. It cost an extra $92 each way for two of us to check in and check one small bag. My back hurts and I will ALWAYS pay a bit more for another airline."
Cons: "1) Although flights are fairly low fare, they get you with baggage. Had to pay to check OR to carry-on. 2) Flew out of Chicago O'Hare - a major hub - and Frontier, Spirit, Virgin America, & Alaskan all shared a SINGLE security check. Yes ladies and gentleman, one security scanner. I have never in my life (usually fly American, United, or Southwest) waited more than 30 minutes to get through security. This time was well over an hour, I almost missed my flight. 3) On-board staff was friendly (all but one woman), but there were no complimentary beverages or snacks. I did pay for some & they were not too pricey, but having to whip out my credit card yet again made my whole travel experience feel far from effortless."
Pros: "Flight was on time, crew were professional and kind and overall I was happy and would recommend this airline to all my family and friends."
Cons: "I would suggest to establish a good food vendor at the departure are wit good selection and better prices."
Pros: "Staff were very pleasant."
Cons: "Food selection is quite limited."
Pros: "The flight was 40 minutes early!"
Cons: "There is no free food."
Pros: "Really good experience"
Pros: "The price for the trip was great. I thought the boarding was efficient and the flight crew pleasant. Check in at the airport was very easy although the automatic machines were non functing."
Cons: "Long pre security screening lines. The seating is rather cramped."
Pros: "I got where I wanted to go for a reasonable price."
Cons: "I did not calculate for the extra fee for a carry-on. I'm always disappointed when I don't get a complementary beverage and snack. Sad but worth the savings."
Pros: "Flights were cheap."
Cons: "You end up paying an additional $30-35 to check a bag or carry on-board, you also end up paying $15-20 to reserve a seat. In addition, they won't accept your checked-in baggage if you're not at the airport 45 min before boarding to drop it off. They made me re-book my flight out of Chicago for the next day and charged me $99. I was only 5 min late to drop my bag off, and because of bad traffic. The airline has no empathy, they seem to be only concerned with charging you at every opportunity they get. I will never fly frontier again."
Pros: "When you pay for a discount airline you should not expect lazy boy recliners and 5 course meals. You get a seat and some pleasant people guiding you to it."
Cons: "It is now 2016 (almost as I write this). They need to have some sort of power port on ALL planes. Like a charging station, but I'd suggest one that can be swapped out with changing technology. Right now, a USB charging port at each seat would make flights more productive. On board wi-fi would also be a welcome amenity."
Pros: "Not sure what you mean by "Food" and "Entertainment". There were none and none expected. Frontier is a funky airline. Its website is misleading. After you've bought your ticket, it suggests that you have to pay extra for a seat and for your bags (even carry-on). I was a first-time Frontier customer and I didn't pay those extras on-line and never was charged for them. I'm not complaining -- they just need to get their act together. All in all, a decent routine air travel experience."
Cons: "Frontier airlines. Rigid and unable to admit that they made a mistake. Caution towards anyone who flies with their special low discount rates. Many opportunities were taken by company to recover discounted fare (and I am not referring to any baggage costs) Besides money, they ruined a special weekend through delays. Think twice! In fact, my comment is in reference to customer service in general. Everything is a fight now. I'm not a screamer, I'm rational. I laid out, clearly, where their policy was contradicted and that some empathy was in order and in the process was hung up on once and have not received a reply to my last email. If you gave no intention to achieve quality customer service, why pay for the department? Maybe they don't."
Cons: "It was delayed and arrived 2 hours late. I had booked the flight specifically for its departure and arrival time. It was my first time flying with Frontier, and I will not fly with them again."
Cons: "Lost my luggage and people at check in were rude"
Cons: "Frontier delayed our flight due to a mechanical problem for over twelve hours. Communication was so bad that we could not leave the airport or even the gate because it seemed like we could be leaving at any moment. It got delayed, and delayed and delayed until all the other flights to SFO had left and there was no other option but to pray we got home. Frontier handled the whole situation extremely poorly. I was exhausted and beside myself with frustration. I will never fly Frontier again."
Cons: "inflight everything requires payment."
Cons: "45 dollars for each carry on . Not pleased to pay 90 extra dollars. Never flying Frontier again"
Cons: "While booking I was unaware frontier airlines charged for carry on luggage and didn't participate in TSA pre check. In addition to paying $45 more for the ticket than advertised and having to use normal security, the plane was so cramped the guy behind me hit me in the head. Finally there was a persistent foul smell in the plane. It was a rough 4hrs 30 min. I would recommend spending more and flying southwest or United."
Cons: "The price of the trip did not include a seat, nor baggage, this was unclear and I felt misled. The seating is extremely uncomfortable. Checking in online was terrible, the website was hard to navigate, the prices were inconsistent (I was checking on my phone and computer at the same time and getting different rates for seats). I felt the communication was poor. I did not feel safe. I will not choose this Airline again."
Pros: "Crew and other employees we're curteous. Plane was clean. We trav llhave d before with Frotier and had no problems, until now."
Cons: "It was not pleasing to be delayed 3 times and spend time in the airport instead of being with family and friends. I am thankful that the flight was not cancelled."
Pros: "paid for exit row - was very comfortable"
Cons: "Was surprised that it cost to bring even a carry-on item - also, that soda had a charge. Should have been clearer when the cost of the flight was identified, in particular the carry-on charge."
Pros: "Inexpensive flight. Friendly but no nonsense crew."
Cons: "Why do they seat front rows first? You would think that would block people from getting in."
