Scores according to KAYAK customer reviews
Pros: "Nothing."
Cons: "Everything that could go wrong, seemed to go wrong- except for no crash, and I am thankful for that."
Pros: "Quick departure and TTN"
Cons: "Paying for seats for no reason other than profit when there were lots empty- paying more for carry on than checked bags- how about a free cup of coffee? Would cost u a penny"
Pros: "departure from Trenton is a big plus despite the extremely crowded waiting area"
Cons: "base airfare not great because of the time of year and destination (late December / Orlando) not even water offered paid in-flight drinks/food now asks for a tip (really?? are tips pooled? do the pilots get a cut? ground crew?)"
Cons: "ttn baggage claim is very poor. In a trailer type structure with an extremely noisy metal roller belt."
Pros: "We were able to board the plane."
Cons: "Seats were spartan at best, hard plastic with covers but no comfort and no recline. 5 long hours of back and leg discomfort. Paid for hot tea and coffee. Paid $135 to check 3 bags. Sat at gate for 2 hours."
Pros: "Once we started boarding and were on the plane all personnel were very accommodating and got us to our destination quickly."
Cons: "The amount of delays. The departure and arrival times was a major reason I flew with Frontier to begin with, so without that I have little incentive to fly with Frontier in the future. At the check-in counter it seemed unorganized. The automated check-in machines were not working properly and customers were not helped in an orderly line when I had to check-in at the counter."
Pros: "Nothing!"
Cons: "That the flight was delayed severely and they refused to even try to put me on another flight."
Pros: "Crew"
Cons: "The flight was delayed 2 hours, which I didn't get the text message until after I had dropped the rental car and was waiting in line to check my luggage. so many hidden fees.... would have been cheaper to go with delta."
Pros: "The app worked great. The crew was good and even the cheapest seats were pretty comfortable."
Cons: "Not getting a complimentary snack or beverage."
Cons: "First I bought a ticket from Spirit Airlines SFO to MCO for 309$, then I saw charges from frontier Airline, frontier airlines bought a ticket for me too for 287$, when I was just watching checking the price. Then I compared the tickets, both the time, but from Frontier Airlines was cheaper then I stayed with frontier and cancel the other reservation from Spirit Airlines the next day I see frontier airlines also cancelled that reservation and I had to rebook another ticket for 496$, the price went up, then I had to pay 187$ extra, IT WAS A FRAUD JOB FROM FRONTIER AIRLINES, I can prove everything above with the receipts and the dates on it, the worse experience I had"
Pros: "Crew was pleasant enough."
Cons: "Both of my flights were delayed. We had to get off the plane on both ends before we were allowed to reboard. I missed a long awaited dinner reservation with my husband at one end and was several hours late arriving at my final destination. Mechanical issues on both planes doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. My family and I will not fly Frontier again."
Pros: "The crew was pleasant overall and my inflight experience was fine."
Cons: "The check-in process was terrible. I had checked in and had the tickets available on my phone but just needed to drop off a checked bag -- and it took over an hour and a half to do so! I was only able to drop off the bag when "last call" for my flight was announced. I arrived at 6:15am for an 8:35am flight and made it to the gate just in time for boarding. Unacceptable."
Cons: "wait too much time to fly"
Pros: "Absolutely nothing"
Cons: "Where do I start? They canceled the flight and made no attempt to help me figure things out. The girls at the desk seemed kind of stupid. Just stood there staring at each other until finally one of them hands me a paper for customer service. No offer to help with hotel or anything. Awful."
Pros: "I did like the convenience of flying out of the Trenton airport. Check in went smoothly"
Cons: "The baggage check in in Orlando airport was horrible. They had one person checking pre paid bags. There was no direction from your staff making people aware of which line they needed to be in. Due to lack of direction the baggage check took 45 minutes. This seems a bit extreme."
Pros: "Crew and staff very nice."
Cons: "Took sooooo long to get our bags after the flight! Over 30 mins."
Pros: "There was no food or entertainment which is why I gave one star! Otherwise everything was great!"
Cons: "Everything is an upcharge - carryon, a seat that reclines, etc."
Pros: "The flight and flight crew were great. Very comfortable seats and flight."
Cons: "Weather played a huge part in our flight down, as well as Air Traffic control down on Saturday. Flight delayed 4 hours. On the way home, not much better. Flight delayed 1 1/2 hours waiting for a pilot to get on the plane in order to catch a flight out of Trenton."
Cons: "They allowed us to checkin and get to the boarding zone just to tell us the flight was canceled."
Pros: "Flight was on time and baggage claim was fast despite freezing rain. Food has to be purchased on flight. Given the tickets are cheap they nickel and dime everything. They only allow one carry on with you either a laptop bag or cabin bag. It's cheaper if you prepay online or during check-in. It's expensive at airport and a hassle."
Cons: "Even small soda or snack not Free. They should give it for kids atleast."
Cons: "The disorganization checking one check bag. I arrived in plenty of time. Very long line to check the bag (no skycab available). Majority of people in line arrived with only a short time before their flight and had to be rushed ahead of me to get to their flight on time. I finally arrived to the front of the line after about 45 minutes and 50% of the people behind me were on flights leaving in 30 minutes or less and had to go ahead of my husband and I. They obviously did not arrive with the advised amount of time allowance. It wasn't my fault I arrived with plenty of time and I had to deal with the verbal abuse from people having to go ahead. Maybe if they missed their flight, next time they would arrive earlier with enough time. It sure wasn't a very pleasant experience at all."
Cons: "Plane was uncomfortable and they charge you for everything. Carry on bag, they charge you, bottle of water they charge you $2.95 Will never fly with them again. They are just as bad as Spirit."
Pros: "Flight was reasonably priced. Flight options were great"
Cons: "Rates are misleading. Once you add in the higher baggage fee, the seat fees (no free seats), the flight is priced the same if not higher than other airlines but the real difference is in all of this is customer service. The lead flight attendant on the my flight was extremely rude and unresponsive. My mother had a wheelchair assist her to the gate for our departing flight in Orlando. This was arranged by the ticket counter. Apparently, Frontier screwed up and did not arrange for a wheelchair to meet us at the gate in Charlotte. When we mentioned this to the lead flight attendant, he said we would need to go and find one ourselves. I asked if he could call the gate and asked them to bring one so I wouldn't have to leave my elderly mother, he said, "no". I asked again and explained that I didn't want to leave my mother. This time he rolled his eyes at me and said, it wasn't his problem. Really? This is precisely the reason I will not take Frontier again. Please look into training your people better or your hiring process. Cheap flight do not address this issue."
Pros: "Very polite staff."
Pros: "The counter attendant was helpful to find another flight."
Cons: "The delays that are caused by the very slow computers at the ticket counters. I did not like that I had to 'somehow' get to Orlando to get into the next flight to NJ. Even though I arrived 1 hr before the flight."
Pros: "Staff was friendly."
Cons: "Felt secure."
Pros: "Lots of leg room"
Cons: "Seats could be more comfortable"
Pros: "Price is able to reach"
Cons: "No water to customer drink"
Pros: "quick boarding"
Cons: "being told they had trail mix to buy for a snack and then when i bought it i found out it was chex mix. these snacks are not the same thing."
Cons: "Departure delay was too long on board"
Pros: "Cheap"
Cons: "Fees for everything! Checked bags, in flight snacks/drinks, everything! Flight was delayed due to airline error, but staff did nothing to demonstrate they were sorry for the delay. Pilot apologized, but there was no other effort to remedy the situation."
Pros: "same as above"
Pros: "I can tell you what I didn't like. My seat and bags cost more than the flight itself. So no I did not have a good experience and I will never fly Spirit again"
Pros: "The flight attendants were nice."
Cons: "Everything besides the flight attendants, the seats were like cardboard, the plane arrived at the airport late and left late (this is quite common with frontier), and the check in personnel lied about the plane saying it had already left was on the Tarmac, but when I got to the gate that was untrue, the plane had just arrived."
Pros: "left on time"
Cons: "was not aware that they charged for carry on customer service at gate was horrible and very rude to my girlfriend"
Pros: "good communication on the gate change and accurate delay information."
Cons: "did not communicate why the flight was delayed"
Cons: "I hjave never flown on an airline thaty charges you for drinks and snacks"
Pros: "Aircraft"
Cons: "Nothing"
Pros: "Never flew with any other airlines aside from United until I flew for the first time with Frontier. I have to say, I had a pretty good experience. I didn't expect the best accomidations compared with a major airline. But for a budget airline, I'm actually surprised and happy that there was a straight flight from MCO to STL. I couldn't find other airlines with a straight flight. I also loved how helpful the ticketing personel and boarding employee helped me out and answered some of my concerns. They were super polite and quick to help. They also had a very relaxed/laid back attitude I liked."
Cons: "I understand it's a budget airlines, but I didn't like the fact that you aren't allowed a carry-on item unless you purchase one. Most other airlines would allow one free carry-on and one free personal item. Due to this, I didn't get to pack as much as I needed for my trip. And also, it was not informed that guest had to pay for a carry-on. I was lucky enough to call the hq a day before my flight. It just so happened to be one of my concerning questions. The flight attendants were overall okay, but there were some instances that I felt they were incompetent but also not as thorough. I had trash to throw away and they passed me 3 times before I was able to throw it away. Plus I turned on my assistance light so they would come pick it up, but it took them a good 15/20 minutes to finally check in me and by that time my trash was already picked up. The seats and trays aren't as comfortable as I hoped. And I get it's a budget airlines, but that's also the reason why my flight was less comfortable or entertaining."
Pros: "The flight crew was friendly."
Cons: "No snacks. Having to pay for a beverage. And there were no in-flight entertainment options and no magazines in the seat back pocket."
Pros: "Starts off seeming cheep..."
Cons: "Then you pay for "every" thing. Seats do not recline on a 5+ hour flight, what is that?"
Pros: "Flight crew pleasant, even making sarcastic comments about the cheapness of their airline. For example, "If you don't like our service, there are 8 emergency exits on this plane." We arrived safely and our bags got there too!"
Cons: "It was a tough day due to weather delays and cancellations, but the airport crew was overwhelmed and failed to control the massive crowd. At one point, service members started calling out destinations and it became a free for all. Passengers jumped over each other and across the ropes to cut in front. Elderly and children were pushed aside. At the gate, it was announced "in 15 minutes, we will ask passengers needing help to board", followed immediately by another crew member "we are already boarding all passengers!", then right back to the first crew "we are not boarding yet, we will start boarding in 15 minutes". Confusion! Departure was listed on time, but we really left 40 minutes late."
Pros: "I specifically loved all of the crew members on my flights to Orlando and back home. They gave me a few good laughs with their jokes and funny expressions. Another great factor of using Frontier is that they keep you up to schedule with your flight by sending you emails from the morning of until your flight departs to insure you don't miss a gate change or flight delays."
Cons: "The only downfall of using this airline is that the customer is not informed before hand that you have to pay an additional, but small, cost to choose your seat. The customer is also charged for a carry on unlike some other airlines who allow 1 free carry on."
Pros: "Close to home, easy boarding"
Cons: "I didn't like the nickel & diming that went on. In order for my family to sit together I had to pay for a seat upgrade?? They charge $40.00 for carry ons????"
Pros: "Loved airport, very easy to navigate since it's so small"
Cons: "Did NOT like paying for baggage, who travels WITHOUT a carry on or bag. Feel it's deceitful in flight pricing. Then to have to pay for my seat! I spent $100 additional to my cost of flight....just up the prices!!"
Pros: "Great price!"
Cons: "I had an obese person sitting in the middle seat. Clearly this person needs to think about sitting in the first few rows where additional space is provided. It's unfair to the people who sit next to you when you occupy more than you share of the seat."
Pros: "The counter staff were very welcoming and efficient when I checked bags"
Pros: "Cheap tickets"
Cons: "No food or entertainment"
