When I checked in online they had a notice asking if we would volunteer to check bags for free because they knew overhead space would be tight. Once the flight was underway they announced they'd been able to reroute to save us some of that time. And the Alaska Air/Horizon connecting flight was also delayed, most likely to accommodate this large flight. The aircraft is wonderful--the plugs for devices at every seat plus free entertainment piped to our devices really helps to pass the time."

Cons: "My initial flight was at 0800; I got to the gate before 0800 and was told I couldn't board the flight even though it was still at the gate and was still before the flight time. I had to pay to rebook my flight, spent over $200 in rides to and from airport, had additional parking fees and was several hours late to work. I have many family members who work in flight service so I understand that employees don't like to re-do paperwork; however, being there before the flight time and being denied cost a lot of work time and money. I have always had great experiences with Alaska so this one was quite a disappointment compared to their usual great service. :("

It is bad enough that the seats don't recline and there is no window in the very back row but prior experience with the added nausea of foul restroom order has been a serious insult to injury. In this case there was really minimal odor. Also since we are traveling as a family we are very happy that we were seated together. We have experienced the past that sometimes our seats will be fragmented and that creates major challenges when you are traveling with young children. However on this particular flight the ride was rough during both takeoff and landing, a lot of side to side shimmy. Also the cabin pressure varied quite a bit during landing causing all the kids to complain about some discomfort in their ears."

Pros: "Crew was nice"
Cons: "I paid for my ticket, but when I went to check in the day before my flight there were fees I had to pay that I was not aware of and had no choice but to do so. They do not offer and free carryon bag. If you pay online you have to pay an extra $30 for a carryon item or $20 for a checked bag. These fees apply to your destination and your flight home as well. On top of that, you have to pay for your seat. All in all I was not happy with my experience with sun country. I am normally not someone who writes poor reviews, but this was definitely the worst airline I’ve ever used."
Pros: "I used to fly sun country every other month for work. It was affordable, reliable, great customer service. They were recently bought out by Apollo Investment Group and they have gone in serious decline since then. I will never fly this airline again. Hidden fees, poor customer service, 4 hour hold time to speak to an agent, *carry-on fees*-- just a bad airline at this point."

Cons: "Ultimately, sun country could of communicated better all around. Was not informed that the flight was delayed until I checked into airport/ even though we were told that the airline knew that the plane was late “all day.” Arrived for a 3:50 flight and did not take off till after 9. Furthermore, there was limited communication regarding when we would actually take off. Checking-in I was informed boarding would start at “6:40” and then we did not board until 830-9."

Cons: "Lack of communication from the gate and flight deck about a delay before we left MSP. While the flight crew was trying to keep announcements to a minimum in board, a little bit of information would have been reassuring."
Cons: "I tried to pre select a seat online. The seating chart indicated that the flight was full and only few middle seats and aisle seats were available. The middle seats were free but the aisle seats cost $15. I'm a big guy so I paid the $15. When I got on the flight I learned the flight wasn't full and there were plenty of seats available. I thought there must be a mistake so I tested it on the way back to L.A. from Minneapolis. I got the same email encouraging me to get my seat early and check in online. The seating chart indicated that the flight was full and only a few middle seats and aisle seats were available. So instead of checking in online I waited to do it at the counter. Sure enough the lady at checkin told me there was plenty of seats and even offered me and my travel companions a whole row so we could sit together. I feel like Sun Country is misleading their customers in order to make a few extra bucks. Lame!"
Cons: "I don't like hearing that Suncountry is going to be an airline that charges a fee for everything like Spirit airlines. I heard that this will begin as of January 1st. Suncountry is a great airline. Why would you change that? It's disappointing."
Pros: "They tried to separate me from my son in order to accommodate a passenger using a wheel chair. I accidently found out just before boarding. My son was NOT having it!! They changed our seats, putting us together again, without a problem or negative attitude. Total professionalism in an awkward situation!"

Cons: "They kept making me check my bags when I didn't need to and then had me wait for one and a half hours to get my bags from the baggage claim! They also have the longest layovers imaginable. I had to find out what gate my flight was taking off in at the airport, they never tell you ahead of time. The staff is ok but there was a stewardess on every flight (4) that had serious attitude. I only chose them for economic reasons and wish I had just paid more for a better flight experience."
Pros: "Boarding was good and agent was able to move me and my 2 family members to an exit row so we could be together."
Cons: "Plane left late due to "showers" at MSP, then at LAX we had to taxi from north side of airport to south side, further delaying us 15 minutes or more. Also, exit row seats did not recline even though agent had told me they did recline. None of us could sleep. Very uncomfortable!"
Cons: "One of the female crew member just had a really bad attitude and was rude multiple times. She was a bit older than the other ones, I believe her name was Linda. I asked for both cream and sugar, she only bought cream then when I asked again, she was really dismissive. The cart was literally 1 feet away, I almost wanted to get up and grab it myself. This happened again with my seat mates. She was really nice to the other white customers but I sat in a row with all people of color, and she was equally rude to them.Linda would really benefit from some diversity (addressing her implicit biases/prejudices) training. It just makes all of Sun Country look bad, this was the first time flying sun country, and I will most likely not fly with sun country again, if I keep on running into air hostesses like Linda. Its unfortunate because the other air hostesses/hosts were really nice, warm and welcoming."
Pros: "It was a direct flight."
Cons: "We were late departing and arriving, which created a problem for a meeting I had to attend. On top of already being late the exiting of the aircraft was poor. No announcement was made for wheel chair people to wait until the end, and naturally held up the exiting of the aircraft. This was my first experience on Sun Country and the flight attendants allowed people to use the bathroom in the front of the aircraft, but at hour 3.00 when i walked up to use it - i was then told to go to the back. After I watched many people for HOURS freely use it. Not just when the cart was in the aisle either. Just not consistent in their directions and follow through making it confusing for passengers. There was no wifi, so I couldn't work and there was no entertainment on board. I won't be flying Sun country again."

My wife even held up her hand indicating she was checking her bag. The woman charged me the initial bag fee of 25.00 then charged me again for an additional bag at 35.00. That was wrong since there was 3of us flying."

Pros: "The flight was on time, the ground crew were very helpful and friendly. When I landed at LAX there was no wheelchair. I had to wait for at least 30 minutes for a wheelchair. I missed my shuttle and after arriving at 4:45, the shuttle did not come until after 6:30."
Cons: "The grounds people at LAX were not as nice and friendly as the flight crew and the ground crew in MN. Certainly not as helpful. After waiting for my wheelchair which had been pre arranged, I missed my shuttle and had to wait almost 2 hours for another shuttle."
Pros: "Paid more for priority seats roundtrip to find out nothing about it is priority. They boarded our section last. All rows were bparded before rows 4 through 8. What a waste of money. Never flying Sun Country again. Not to mention the flight attendants repeatedly bump into my wife by reaching over her to serve people in the row in front and behind us. So rude..."

Pros: "I had never heard of Sun Country before, and thought I would be in for an uncomfortable Spirit Airlines type of experience. I was pleasantly surprised that the seats were comfortable, there was room for my carry-ons, and everyone was pleasant."
Cons: "I just acquired a Known Traveler Number for TSA Pre-Check. When I checked in at the airport, the self-service screen showed my KTN, but printed the boarding pass without saying PreCheck on it. I didn't notice until I was at security and was no longer able to get it corrected. I was told by the TSA person (not a Sun Country employee) that it was "random," but surely your system can factor KTNs into boarding passes automatically, especially since I (and other passengers) paid for the DHS enrollment. I was also hoping for electrical outlets in the seat so I could use my laptop."

Cons: "The event I flew to attend got changed, so I had to change the dates of my 'Going To' and 'Coming Home' flights. It was not my fault, but I got horribly overcharged to change my flights. I am not working right now nor do I get Unemployment; I booked the flights months ago while I was still working. In that situation, the airline could help a bit more financially. Airline crew going out was courteous and helpful, but there was one attendant on the flight back who was frankly rude to me and bullied me. I do wish airline food was a bit more reasonably priced, and cash payment was accepted."
Pros: "I liked the leg space. It was an improvement over the 3 days earlier Spirit A320 modern cab that seats don't recline"

Cons: "Flight attendants were mostly rude. They nickel and dime the passengers ($8 or more for "entertainment modules"), aisles were very narrow; I felt like a sardine. Bathrooms were not kept clean and getting to them was a challenge because the crew wouldn't let us wait in the galley and you weren't supposed to crowd the aisle...."

Cons: "There were problems as soon as the plane got to the gate. After the passengers got off the plane, the man at the counter came on the P.A and said it’ll be a few minutes, they’re catering the plane now from the back to the front. The flight crew still needed to get on a preform safety checks. He apologized again. Then it was 8:40, time to take off and we’re still waiting to even board. The man at the counter said again, thank you for your patience and relayed the same message, only this time the flight attendants were walking away from the gate. Around 9 some lady higher up told the man to announce that the flight crew had timed out and stand by crew was on the way to the gate, said sorry again. A little later the man says sorry, there’s a gate change. You’re going to K6 now. When we get to the new gate it’s almost 9:30pm and while we were all gathered at the gate, the flight crew that supposedly “timed out” showed up and proceeded to get on the plane. Passengers started getting mad and saying we were lied to and to just tell us the truth. Chicago PD started showing up. We finally got on the plane but it would be another 30 minutes before we moved because of issues getting our bags off the original plane. We ended up being almost 2 hours delayed."
Pros: "The place to charge the phone is easily accessible on the back of the seat in front (as opposed to underneath)."

Pros: "I received the survey for this flight before we even boarded lol. People’s online boarding passes had expired. Noted that it was “due to weather” weather is totally clear, haven’t seen a flake of snow, it’s just cold."

I was not the reason for the plane being over weight, I was there before boarding took place they didn't ask and I didn't fly."

Cons: "I was traveling today with my daughter, who is 6 months pregnant, my 3 1/2 & 18 month old grandsons, my husband & son-in law on an international flight from Chicago to Manchester. I was very disappointed a 757 was used for an international flight! No attempt was made by staff to accomodate our family with a extra seat for the infant, even though there were a large number of rows with empty middle seats (4 of which were directly behind them!) The 1st indication of the beginning of the NIGHTMARE was when the plane arrived in Chicago and overshot the gate, this caused almost an hour delay! (We heard our crew saying "oops" while looking out the window at the plane arriving & then again when they were discussing it would have been faster if the plane had used a different method to get to the gate again.) This was then followed by a mechanical problem with a frozen water valve, requiring us to be de-iced x2! Then we started to taxi out and again had to return because of a hydraulic problem that required repair. I think we were delayed almost 3.5 hours. The crew did bring a round of water during the onground delays, and offered free drinks later in the flight. The icing on the cake was not getting the stroller back at the gate because there were no baggage handlers. I can't tell you how much FUN that was trying to corral a toddler & 3yr old with all our carry-on bags while getting thru customs! Did I mention in our haste to get off that plane we overlooked my daughter's winter maternity coat in the overhead! May be time to switch to the Friendlier Skies of United for our UK travel!"
Cons: "I chose a package on the cheap flights that has a left hand side for choosing number of baggage which invariably inreases fare depending on the number of baggage and i choose 2 and paid for 2 baggage but the ticket came with 1 baggage and i contacted both by phone call, email and your website but did not get any fsvourable response. Had to pay again at the airport for the extra bag. This is highly unfair."

Cons: "The seats were terrible. I don't know what it was about them, but I've never had a more uncomfortable flight. My husband had leg cramps for much of the flight and couldn't get comfortable. The rest of the flight was fine, but the uncomfortable seats were a huge minus. We'll probably try to avoid 787s from now on. The window-darkening system was annoying. They darkened the windows when it was dark outside and they darkened the cabin, so we couldn't look out the window. It was dark outside--why the need to darken the windows?? My husband requests window seats so he can look out the window."

Cons: "The airline "randomly" selected me for extra security. Even though I have TSA pre-check I was jostled around, sent to multiple security lines without any reasoning and the local Chicago TSA and airport staff didn't seem to know what to do. Once it was figured out I was subjected to what was essentially a cavity search. Again I HAVE TSA-pre-check but apparently that means nothing if an airline flags you. It was an extremely upsetting experience but you were in a situation of either agree to the invasive search or get stranded over 1000 miles from home. I will NEVER fly Iberia again after a cancelled flight and being stranded in the wrong country on the way to my vacation and the horrible security experience on the way back. I seriously may never go to Chicago either after seeing the complete lack of organization and traumatizing personal invasion. I fly a lot for work and have never had such a horrible experience. I would really like to know how many terrorists are caught with these invasive searches and would love to know the justification for sticking your hands inside someone's pants and grabbing their privates after they have already gone through a metal detector AND the body scanner. Especially for someone who has already passed a federal background check to obtain pre-check status. Absolutely ridiculous."

Pros: "United airlines canceled a flight last minute that I needed in order to get to my best friends' wedding on time, I usually fly AA but the United flights were slightly cheaper at the time. The options United gave me would have had me missing the wedding, AA had more flights that allowed me to make it in time, considering it was booked 12 hours before take-off, it was decently reasonable and left on time and got in early (imagine that, United). Thank you American Airlines, again!"

Cons: "My outbound flight to Manila had an overnight layover in Japan. I asked at the luggage check-in at O'Hare International Airport if they can check it all the way through as I had planned to go outside of the Narita airport for the layover. They told me I couldn't check the luggage all the way through and that I had to pick it up from baggage claim once I land in Narita. From there I had to check-in the luggage again on the same day. When I took my luggage out from baggage claim, I tried to check-in and the counter crew told me I was given wrong information. I had to keep my luggage with me until my flight the following day. On my return flight from Manila and another overnight layover in Narita, the check-in crew at NAIA told me I could check-in my luggage all the way through, and that they also allowed this at my outbound flight to Manila. The check-in crew at O'Hare International Airport gave me wrong information."

Cons: "Thought it was funny I didn't get a survey about my disaster trying to leave Boston, only the on time flight getting back. 6 hour delay leaving because of a warning light they didn't catch to begin with. Missed a whole day of vaca. No help once they deplaned us. Horrible flight. First time on American too. Paid for a window seat specific and had no window."
Pros: "Overall it was a fine flight we were delayed an hour boarding. But this is good because apparently they didn't have a place for us to unload in Boston and we would rather be walking around the terminal in Chicago than sitting on the plane on the runway"
