The flight existed
China Eastern made no efforts to get me and several other passengers through the crowded airport security in time to board. They never called out our names over intercom or even delayed boarding at all, and simply closed the gates and took off without us although we were only five minutes late to the gate (15m before takeoff). We were refused a hotel for the night and had to figure out and pay for our own accommodation until the next flight takes off. Prior to all of this, I had to cancel one of the three flights I booked because ONE letter in the last name of a passenger was missing. This mistake cost me around $800 and a ton of hassle. I will never book with Justfly and China Eastern again, and Kayak shouldn't have a well-known fraudulent Booker like Just fly in their search results.

New, well equipped aircraft. Very comfortable flat bed with lots of privacy.
Flight crew was very professional but not much "personality" warmth. Almost robotic.
Business class service very good. Seating very comfortable for a long flight.
Cathay is a good Asian airline, and if you compare it to any American-based airlines, Cathay is exceptional. Staff are generally very friendly and helpful. Seats and food on economy are pretty good, as far as economy goes. Entertainment system is updated and offers a good variety of options.
They are a bit strict on carry on luggage weight but not that big of a deal.
I didn't like their foods specially fish & chicken made me nausea

Out of DC, they weighed every carryon item both at check in and at the gate. I couldn’t fill my water bottle before boarding or I would have been overweight... I’ve never had an airline be so picky. And then they lost one of my bags - ironic given the precision about baggage weight.

Items missing or substituted in the veg but was ok in regular meals. In one veg serving, no salad or dessert was included. Margarine instead of butter for only in the veg meal.

Everyone was very attentive and nice. The leg room is decent .
Some of the food didn't taste amazing, would've like maybe a different choice other than salmon or curry pork
There was on flight attendance which I assume new. She was not able to manage to check with her colleagues whether there was still a food which I requested before giving me the answer. Also, to me little things like fold the cup holder before take off and landing is just a simple task to do without giving a lecture to the passenger when he or she might be tight up with kids.

What other snack options available other than Ramen Noodles. Maybe a low carb option is needed. There are some noodles made from soy products and these will be low carbohydrate. Seats in economy are ok for short people. All airlines should designate an infant seating area close to toilets. This way all infants will be restricted to these seats and the noise pollution in the aircraft is restricted to a small section of the ship.these seats can be specially configured to either seat a no rmal adult or a fast attachments for a baby carrier.

No drink service except for with the one meal served during the flight - which was okay by me, because who wants an extra trip to the bathroom when the lavs aren't working?

The flight from Delhi to Shanghai was three hours late due to bad weather wt Shanghai. China eastern agents at Delhi lied about the status of the connecting flight from Shanghai to SFO and made us start the journey knowing fully well that we will miss the connection. At Shanghai the agent and her manager were one of the most rude and incompetent folks I have come across - they took three hours to handle 50 passengers. And to top it the immigration folks were equally inefficient they took 3 hours to clear 40 ~ 50 folks for 24 hours transit visa. There were two agents and one supervisor. Do the math - 13 to 16 minutes per person. We stood in line for straight 6 hours. My wife had swollen feet for next few days. China may be great at manufacturing but service is surely not theie thing. Avoid Shanghai airport and China Eastern like the plague.

The excellent service offered by the Cabin Manager, Amy and her team. They cared about the needs of the passengers in the 15-hr long flight and responded quickly to requests raised by passengers.

There was a medical emergency on board, so bathrooms did not get the necessary attention. Had to ask for toilet paper for two different bathrooms. Transferring to this flight as a NIGHTMARE. The boarding gate was a long way from the arrival gate. Went through an endless maze. Went through two security check points. At both check points I was sent for pat down. At the first there were five other women who were waiting for pat down. All white women. Discrimination???? At the second security, I had not even passed through the detector and the officer was waving me to get a pat down. At that point I started laughing. Next automated preclearance for immigration, then had to wait in line to talk to immigration officer. It is a miracle that I made it to the flight on time. Passport and boarding pass checked minimum of 6 times in this process. On arrival in Los Angeles, there was a bus ride to the terminal for luggage pick up. My husband was at the terminal I normally come to, I had no way to contact him (Indian sim), no change for pay phone. A fellow passenger was merciful and let me use her phone send husband messages and eventually we met up. I would not use Eithad for India to USA for this reason only. The security and immigration preclearance sucks.

This time The experience was super horrible! Took almost 1hr 30 mins to get boarding pass. I had 2 suit case one was 24.5 kg and other one was 25 kg, they wanted me to pay $132 for each bag or take out stuff to make it 23kg. Never met someone that horrible who doesn’t want to let it go. I requested the wheelchair and they dont wana give it to me, I had no choice but to call their supervisor and eventually got wheelchair only from jfk to abu dhabi. Worse experience.

I booked regular economy and flew to Tokyo that way, but put a bid in for premium economy for the flight home and got it. It's not a big upgrade (bigger display panel, a little more leg room, seat tilt and it has a leg rest) but those things made the flight for me.
I don't have much on the down side front aside from the usual "would like more leg room" and "more seat tilt" so nothing new to report

Selection of movies are great. They are new release and blockbusters
Its just because a 16 hours total flights. My body is sore from sitting long time in small seats and not a lot of room to move around.
