The airplane was hot and stuffy with little airflow. They don’t offer any beverages to customers other than first class passengers citing COVID issues. There is no risk if COVID spread through giving each passenger a soda. It is incredibly unfair that first class passengers are served both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in cups but other passengers are not."

Cons: "Gate agent spoke so ridiculously fast and swallowed so many sounds that it was virtually impossible to understand most of what he was saying. Most importantly we all missed that our roll-on bags wouldn’t fight in the overhead bins. As a result many people pulled their bags on and fought and struggled to force their luggage above, only to give up. The on-board agents recognized early the problem and then proceeded to allow many other passengers to stroll by them with their large roll-on bags, only to delay the boarding process and frustrate everyone. When making their safety announcement the flight attendant was clearly competing for fastest speaking human and rushed through at blazing speeds. In all my 30+ years of travel, I’ve never heard anything like it."

The captain had to finally, after several hours, come to the boarding area to inform all of us that there was problem that was not communicated correctly so we then had to wait an additional 2.5 hours more on top of the original 2.5 hour delay for the two certified mechanics on St. Croix to attest that the plane could fly. No one asked them to come earlier, so we waited for pretty much five (5) hours. We were promised meals and hotel in Miami. the Miami American Airlines service desk told us, sorry, there's so many people, we could not be accommodated. This is outrageous, and I want my money back. I paid for 4 people on that flight and we were treated horribly. On top of that....Cheapoair, representative from whom I bought the tickets, sold me tickets without my understanding that we only had 41 minutes to get off the original flight from Christiansted find the next flight and board it. We never would have made it. Final point, the Cheapoair guy who sold me the tickets charged me about 500 dollars more than what he said the cost was. He quoted and said "all in" 1150 per ticket (I bought 4 tickets). He then charged me nearly 5300 Again this is outrageous and a complete sham. I demand to be compensated for this."

I called Spirit air for 2 hours trying to get them to help Meetup but they have a “no show” policy and said I was a no show even though I was there!!!!!!!!!!!! And I had called 2 hours prior to flight to ask for help. Epic fail. Never fly Spirit air."

Cons: "A small over-the-shoulder soft bag cost 55$ each way to bring on-board. Seats do not recline, and our flight was delayed as many as 12 hours ahead of our flight for what amounted to a 3 hour difference in landing times. Attendants were neither apologetic or offered any explaination. We missed our hotel, we had to reschedule the pick-up for our rental car 3 times. Spirit is a disaster. Kayak would do better not to offer its flights through their service so as not to bring their own name down!"

The Purser/Senior Atttendant did not handle well in my opinion, by allowing the clearly ill elderly woman who was disoriented and confused back to her seat and in her "freaking out" reaction (her words). After the woman vomited the second time, they had her sit in a different seat up front, spreading the possible pathogens and uncleanliness to more rows. The woman vomited a 3rd time in this new seat. The woman was FINALLY removed from the plane and her former dear mates were moved to the row up front where the woman was sick for the 3rd time. (The crew who came on to clean the "biohazard" used a dirty mop and did not appear to use any bleach solution. The Senior flight attendant said they were going to seal off the bathroom (good idea) bc the elderly woman, according to the Spirit attendants, made a big mess and it was a "biohazard". Cut to later in the flight after a 2 hour delay and then the sick woman- where Spirit attendants allowed many passengers to use this restroom -bar potentially exposing them to pathogens. The Purser was self-confessed overly dramatic about the entire situation. I can't imagine how she would have behaved in an escalated emergency situation."

Cons: "I received an email from Spirit four hours before my flight was supposed to take off saying that the flight had been cancelled. They offered no reasoning, explanation, or alternative route. I then called the Spirit help desk and explained my situation to a woman who could barley speak English. She said that the plane was undergoing maintenance and there was a shortage of crew, which is just questionable in it's own right. She said that Spirit could put me on the next available flight which departed on Tuesday. I explained that as my return flight was Monday, this was not a viable option. So she basically said that there was nothing they could do and then proceeded to only offer me a partial refund. Meanwhile, I checked for a flight on any other airline, and the next cheapest would run me about $750. From what I could tell on Spirit's Twitter page, this is not an uncommon occurrence. This was the worst airline experience I've ever had, and you can bet that I will not be using Spirit in the future."

We come to the day of our flight and board our plane only to find out they had given our seats away. Apparently because we didn't have a dog with us it was only fair to give our seats to the people who did and did not book seats let alone together ! Which is absolutely ridiculous my trip should not have to be incovienced because of other people not planning their trip correctly. Then we get the worst seats on the plane after having to stand in the way of everyone for 30 minute like second class citizens while they wait to see where they can squeeze us in. After sitting down we got incredibly rude service from the staff on the plane. One of the attendants made it a point to say your welcome in a manor of being rude because we would not hand trash to her in another passengers face we made her go behind us which was in the long run easier for her. We never got a thank you or a sorry for ruining our trip. I wouldn't recommend this flight to anyone. The airline is an absolute joke."

There was no indication from Spirit through electronic communication, notifications on their in airport boards, and there were not even any spirit employees in the airport terminal. I called spirit. They confirmed that the flight was cancelled and assured me that it was okay and that they would be able to get me on another flight... in eight days. Yes, really, 8 days. I demanded a refund, flew with another airline, and vowed to never fly spirit again."
