Now the rental car company is closed so I have to sleep at the airport and wait till the budget opens again in the morning. Frontier charged for carry-on bags, tried to charge for seat assignments (all of the available seats & not just the desired ones), charged for every beverage including sodas. Frankly I was surprised they didn't charge for water! Seats didn't recline at all & were like sitting on a metal folding chair for 5 hours. Food tray was about 3 inches wide, could barely put a plastic cup on it let alone a laptop or anything like that. Deceptive pricing combined with crappy accommodations - a combination I will avoid next time."

And the stories of horror other passengers had last night...all about Frontier, one man previously had totally missed a cruise! This is not how to maintain nor run an airlines. I will not be giving Frintier another chance."

When contacting Frontier, changing her flight from Thursday to Friday night or Saturday would still have cost more than purchasing another ticket, which I did. Something very wrong with this. I measured the carry on that I purchased for this flight from measurements given on your site. At the airport, the carry on was not permitted without paying for it. Your site states 8x14x18. The larger carry on, which payment is possibly required, is stated to be 10x16x24, if I understand correctly. I ended up paying 30 dollars each way, a total of $60.00 for a small carry on that I understood to be free!"

Pros: "The plane we took, eventually, did not crash."
Cons: "There was a "maintenance issue" with the plane. That can happen. But the way the airline handled it was the problem. Every couple of hours they would push back the departure time. After being delayed 6 hours they told us, "The plane IS REPAIRED, but the crew has timed out." So the departure time had to be pushed back another 3 hours. 15 minutes before that time elapsed they announced that, while they now had a crew, the plane wasn't actually fixed and they were going to bring in another plane in another 2 hours. Before boarding, they announced they needed to move some passengers to different seats, "because there were less passengers than originally scheduled" to balance the weight. This turned out to be a lie because it was a different plane model. I was moved from an upgraded seat to an unsatisfactory one with less leg room. When the plane finally did come in we sat on the tarmac for 60 minutes before taking off. They announced complimentary drinks AND snacks for the delay. And, while I don't get excited one way or another over a bag of peanuts, when the air-waitress came around and tried to charge me for the snacks and claimed that it had never been promised, it was really annoying. Delays happen. Please don't lie about what's going on."

My first experience with Spirit and may be the last unless they reimburse me. In LAX they make you check in "online" on a kiosk (presumably to save you time), then make you wait in line for another hour to drop your bag off. WTH? What's the point of that charade? Worst check-in experience of my life. This airline won't last long if they treat people this way. Their own staff appeared miserable and on the verge of homicide or suicide. No wonder."

And when I tried to use the electronic kiosk to check in, it was not functioning properly. Although it not just Spirit Airlines, but I feel as though these additional fees aren't spelled out to the consumer well enough and therefore are somewhat disingenuous in their relationships with their customers."

Cons: "My 16 month old granddaughter's car seat and stroller was supposed to be delivered at the gait, but instead was delivered at the baggage claim area. The car seat was soaking wet and we had to use her blanket and some other clothing to make it partially suitable for her sit in her car seat. We fly 2-4 times a year on different airlines and with the pre-check status we are able to get through security rather quickly. In the absence of pre-check (because Spirit airlines does not have that facility) we were in the security check line for a long time. Our grand- daughter was upset and crying. Fortunately, eventually someone from the security department came to our assistance and expedited her and her parents' clearance"

The problem with an airline is not about the price it's about dealing with customers who are STRANDED during the holidays. I had an international flight on the 31st to get back abroad where I study. It was upsetting the lack of service to get my flight rescheduled, it was highly unprofessional how they didn't have a rational solution to get back on the 29th of december. I wish this site, would take over and help us rebook our flight. The problem with our service from Spirit was they would reimburse both flights, but then I would have to go to an airport would be taking a risk to not get a flight when driving 1-5 hours to airports around throwing away valuable time. They said they would give a $50 voucher for a reduction in another flight, but this is NOT at all enough to compensate for the stress I (and my family) were put through. This is the worst experience with an airline I have ever had used. I would not EVER recommend this to anyone flying."

Cons: "Upon arriving at the airport, I was informed that my flight was canceled. They robotically said that the next flight isn't until over a week later (well after my scheduled vacation ends), and offered a refund as the only thing they could do. Frankly, a refund is literally the least they could do; there was no effort put into finding an alternate flight or offering other means of compensation for the inconvenience. Had I been in charge of this, I probably would have offered at least a voucher for a discounted future flight, so as to promote further patronage. When I asked why it had been canceled, they said some ambiguous nonsense about security in Fort Myers. When I then called Spirit Airlines, they said it was due to weather. Furthermore, the agent on the phone was equally unhelpful and uncaring as those in person. She explained that because I accepted the refund, there's nothing else they can offer. I tried to explain that those at the counter gave me a refund because it was the only option. In short, this was my first experience with Spirit, and I got the distinct impression that they had no interest in customer satisfaction whatsoever; they are solely in it for the monetary exchange. Once that transaction is complete, they want to be rid of you."

Upon landing, there wasn't a gate available; so we waited nearly an hour to de board the plane. The passenger next to me said that's happened 4 of the 5 times he's flown Spirit (1-3 hour waits!!). Lastly, our luggage took a considerably ling time to arrive at baggage claim. Although we landed by 6:43, it was 8:30 before I had my bag and could leave the airport."

If you need to take any bags whatsoever or care that your flight is half decent, DO NOT fly spirit. Bags are $40 a pop each way, and if they're heavy, you're looking at an additional $25-100 fee. Basically the bags end up costing more than the flight. -7/10 Comfort? You wish. You'd be just as comfortable sitting on concrete. 0/10 In flight snacks, drinks, and other in flight goodies? Well you're gonna have to pay a lot. Are you sensing a theme here yet? You want nuts? Too bad. Gotta pay. A tiny cup of water. Nah, we only have bottled water, gotta pay. But hey, if you're really that hungry or thirsty I guess it's there. 1/10 Air fare? Dont have a car? Need to get somewhere 1000+ miles away quickly. Well you came to the right place. If you just need a flight, and nothing else, you're not gonna get anyone cheaper than Spirit. 10/10 (I feel disguised even saying that) TLDR: Don't fly Spirit. Deceptivly expensive with all there fees. And everything about them pretty much sucks. If you need a budget flight line, Southwest or Frontier are far greater choices."

Cons: "Landed at 6:27pm....did not get off plane until 8pm. Very frustrating having to sit on the plane that long because the "gate was not ready" and it would be "10 to 15 minutes""
Pros: "My first time flying a low cost carrier, I was impressed. I hope Spirit realize those planes won't stay new forever and need to maintain the interiors to keep that new look. The staff in general were courteous and competent I would fly them again."
Pros: "Very very nice aircraft !! Brand new airbus a320 very clean and quiet. The seat i purchsed was as expected(Big fromt seat). Pleny of leg room and space between the other passenger. Crew was not so friendly. Pilots did a great job very smoth ride and nice take off and landing."
Cons: "The price for this airline ticket ended up being much more than expected. Pay for carry on and seats etc. had a real hard time printing my borarding pass beacuse you cant print it from your phone or get an e-ticket. It has to b done on a land based computer. All of which i was never told during orignal purchase."
Pros: "It was cheaply priced. Crew members were pleasant."
Cons: "Being delayed with poor excuses having to do with paperwork."
Pros: "The flight was delayed 2 hours, we were not able to get up or get off plane... they would not provide food or water telling us it's not allowed to sell things when not in air... Spirit charges for everything and provides the most horrible service. When the flight is delayed due to their own fault they should make up for it with some food water like other airlines... I will never fly Spirit again because of this experience."
